e-celeb cocksuckers are so weird, man. they all assume that we watch the same slop they do and know who they're talking about.

It would be easier for him if you'd stop to watch him

People like that don't care about the hobby, they care about drama that's gonna give them clicks. One step above /tg/ who just get mad at things for free.
Don't know what that is btw but all sloptubers are the same

From the thumbnail I assume this is a youtuber who started working with videos about some aspect of /tg/ and is now burnt out of turning his entertainment into a business instead of having a big boy job and doing fun things for fun. Sucks for him, should've listened to dad and gotten a real job.
>>98214702
>main-character-syndrome by proxy
So OP is like a hype-man, living his entire life in function of other people's fame and renown, just there to go "he did not just say that" or "that's the man right there".
>>
>>98218116
I used to watch him way back when. He USED TO have a big boy job as a software engineer and decided to trade that with being a gaytuber. He’s from Minnesota so I don’t think he was getting paid “Silicon valley” level of stupid amount of money but it’s still one of the coziest and easiest fucking jobs (I am one). Specially compared with the stress of running a business hinged around making youtube videos.
>>
>>98218289
>software engineer
Shit, isn't that kind of job reatively easy to keep doing, even remotely, and still be able to have a fucking youtube channel (albeit slower) if you absolutely must engage your hobby that way? Sad to see I'm right about this kid, I almost resent youtube for feeding these kinds of illusions to kids.
>>
>quits big boy job

Gee why am I not making money.

>>98218403
My dad was a IT specialist that worked for a company that did contract work for various manufacturers and businesses with downtown office spaces. He was home 90-95% of the time. WIth the other 5-10% literally being "Hi, hello. Remember me? I'm just going to do some IT work here today while getting in the good graces of everyone that works here." Very rarely did he have to go in for emergency IT situations
>>
>>98218681
And mind you, he did IT work for Ethanol plants and other similar businesses. So it wasn't some mom and pop type IT work either. But for the days that he was home he usually spread out his work over the 8 hour period. Walked the hound dog whenever the weather was good, mowed the lawn it needed to be mowed, went to the store for things like getting stuff for dinner or buying new tools for his hobbies, fell asleep on the couch if he had gotten stuff done earlier than he expected, went out to the woodshop to make furniture, etc.
>>
For the life of me I will never understand people who make their hobbies into full-time jobs. Wtf did they expect?

Sounds comfy AF, are you close to him? I miss when hobbyists were just family men that had a different interest than the rest of the world, and sometimes talked about it with other like-minded people. Imagine if your dad ever tried to make a career out of making furniture on youtube.

You'd be surprised how many e-celebs actually come to 4chan to bait post about themselves to read unfiltered shit with narcissistic fascination.

I think a ton of people got psyop'd by a period on youtube where there were so many hundreds of millions of bots that channels were seeing explosive growth for several years. That lead people to believe that they needed to full-time invest in being youtubers because they'd be able to make even more money because being able to dedicate all their free time to the channel would improve quality, turn-around time on videos, payout from sponsorship deals, and so on. The fact that this was going on during covid for a lot of youtubers allowed it to go unnoticed, because the metrics just looked like everyone staying home was watching more youtube. So when a video "went viral" and a new channel went from 5 to 1 million subs in a week, that mostly made sense to youtube.

In reality, it was scammers amassing legitimized accounts. By making these dummy accounts look like they had authentic behavior, subbing to random channels, leaving comments, etc, they were less likely to be flagged by youtube, which meant they could turn around and sell viewbotting services. When youtube finally developed ways of tracking this behavior and cracking down on it, a lot of those accounts were banned by youtube or abandoned by the scammers running them. So people who thought they were guaranteed eternal growth and increased payout for youtubing suddenly found themselves with 1/1000th of an audience and far less money than they needed to keep LARPing as a proper business.
>>
>>98219804
This would be quickly ended if we stopped the retarded nonsense of "blue boards" and 4chan went back to being a free for all and everytime one of these e-celebs posted their dumb faces someone tributed it and posted a picture of their picture with a thick juicy nut all over it.
>>
>>98214466
Worst hobby youtuber ever. He doesn't shut up complaining about the hobby, frequently tells his audience how he does everything becsuse algorithm says to do it, not because he cares about or likes it, is an adult man with disgusting facial piercings. Failing couldn't happen to a more deserving person.
>>
>>98219296
Youtube kind of killed creative hobbies because rather than other hobbyists at similar levels as you (i.e. normal people) you primarily are interfacing with the top 1% of talent in the community. I do a lot of model cars and I quit watching videos about it because wow my cars looked like junk compared to these youtuber's builds. But if I go to my local hobby shop Ive got the nicest ones there, because everyone at my local shop is regular people with regular levels of skill.
>>
>>98220688
this is fascinating.
Is there anything or anywhere I can read more about? Maybe even something more technical/
>>

I have mostly stopped online gaming due to that too, only really play with my friends on closed lobbies. Post your cars btw anon, now I'm curious, I don't know much about model cars so I'm sure I'll like how they look.

>Sounds comfy AF, are you close to him?
My dad? Yeah, we've always been close. He's busy being a grandpa to my nieces while also working on his furniture making hobby these days. He always brings the hound dog with him wherever he goes because she gets extremely upset whenever he leaves the house without her
>Imagine if your dad ever tried to make a career out of making furniture on youtube.
He'd never be interested in that. He just wants to refurbish furniture and make cabinets for himself and me and my sister. He made a glass paned sliding door for his sunroom about a year back after they got new windows and an exterior door for the sunroom. I ended up replacing the ceiling fan and electrical outlets for that room
>>98219899
You can still be an IT specialist. Mind you, it took him a few years and some personal connections through friends made while working in the local IT industry to be in the position that he eventually found himself in, but you don't need to work for a big company to do what my dad was doing for 20+ years. The company he retired from only had 10 people working for it max and the business address was the owner's home address.
>>98220860
>Youtube kind of killed creative hobbies because rather than other hobbyists at similar levels as you (i.e. normal people) you primarily are interfacing with the top 1% of talent in the community.
Hobby channels are at their best when its just people showing off what they've done and what they're currently working on. The whole mass produced crap that's infected Youtube hobby channels is partly why I don't watch them anymore. Hobby-adjacent channels were never capable of supporting people's livelihoods unless they became professional e-beggars forcing their viewers to donate to patreon or whatever and I think the "professional" side of Hobby Youtube channels are starting to realize this

Scott taking L's constantly was amazing.
>Accept commission for Blood Angels army
>Take like 10 years to get it to the guy
>Accept commssion for Imperial Knight
>take like 7 years to get it to the guy
Scotts definitely a douchebag.

>Get requested to paint some HH minis
>Paints SO SLOW that he has to offload the work onto someone else at his own expense
>arrive at event
>post pics to instagram that leaks GW ip
>get kicked out
>whine about it on youtube

>Next up, the last space marine I'll ever paint
>average views IMMEDIATELY dip

>Introducing Other Games April
>post NO other games and abandon it in all future years

>Start Dark Eldar Army vs. Jay from Eons of Battle
>be SO SLOW that the goalposts get moved multiple times while Jay absolutely mogs him

My favorite of course
>Enter Jon Ninas
>Hunts down Scott
>Uses him to speedrun his own youtube career
>if he hasnt yet, is rapidly approaching him in subscribers because he's willing to actually paint some fucking minis.
>wins a golden demon, something scott will NEVER do.
>Scott has to sit there, and seethe at this guy he personally built up, that is now better at him at his own game on his podcast

>Resort to refurbing your mee-maw's furniture.
>fuck it up
>>
>>98214466
he'd fit in with people here.
>>
>>98220811

is this guys channel worth checking out? he always looked like a clickbait slopper so i never bothered
>>

Every so often John will actually put out a good video. Unfortunately he's a fucking shill with every other video about junk you dont need.
>>
>>98222189
Me and my mate have a running joke where Jon is a psychic vampire attached to Scott. We don't watch all their content but will send each other thumbnails from the feed to keep tabs and build lore.

Pic related: the paintjob that 1 shot Scotts competition painting career. He was so insulted he didn't medal with this piece he basically refused to enter another event. Which makes Jon's growing GD collection even funnier.

what competition did he enter this in? please do not tell me he entered that for golden demon as a serious contender

I just wanted to let you guys know: Northern Exile is the lamest warhammer youtuber I have ever seen.
He gives really shitty life advice instead of talking about warhammer, and he also gives advice to his incel audience on how to get girls? It's massively gay.

I just like kind of painting desk videos where they show you some miniatures. But they have to look and sound acceptable.

And Snipe and Wib, they have some filler videos but Codex Compliant is brilliant and Wib is very talented.
>>

It was for crystal brush. Around 2019 if memory serves.

that's just as delusional honestly

>>
>>98224430
That’s miniac in a nutshell
>>
>>98222543
He can paint well but every video is wrapped up in some clickbait title where he tries a "new" technique or tool. In a world of soulless sell outs he stands apart from the others in just how much he is willing to sell his soul and shill anything. Particularily outrageous to me was his recent kickstarter for some cards with color scheme suggestions.
>>

>>
>>98225460
Anon, warhammer IS the hobby. Wargaming is too broad a category to imply a shared interest across. I dont give a shit about historicals, nor any rpg garbage. I care about the warhammer IP and so thats what I'm interested in.

guys don't forget, if you're planning on painting a cheesecake coomer mini you need a ask the permission of a woman first so she can absolve you of the sin of being a straight man
>>
>>98225460
Then don't be a bitch about it. It's not like he seems to have any real passion for other games, such that he would paint their models regardless of views.

>>98226532
He talked a lot about the Game of Thrones game, made a bunch of videos about it, but it never got the views Warhammer content does
