Speaking of the Digital Web and Mage the Ascension, what would I need to play this character concept: The Ghost in the MachineI watched SAO (Abridged) today and I wanted to make a character like Yui, an adorable little AI girl that can hack stuff. Though I wanted to add my own twist to make it more like my character. So I decided to take inspiration from Gintama. Specifically the Ryugujo Arc. In this story the character named Urashima has been invited to a castle in space and partied for months, but when he returned on Earth he found out that the time dilation meant that hundred of years has passed back in his hometown. Having lost everything he committed suicide, but his body was recovered by the princess from the castle. His life has been “saved”, trapped in suspended animation and ageless, but there was no brain activity. We learn later in the anime that as the princess was descending into villainy due to grief, Urashima’s soul became one with the castle/ship’s computers and fought against Princess Otohime to save her.So yeah, the idea is that a girl is in suspended animation. Less than alive but more than dead, and her soul escape her body and whatever machine imprisoned her and now resides in the Digital Web. She’s like an AI trapped in the web and can only interact with the world and people through electronic machines. So what would I need to know and have to play that character? What merits do you suggest? What strategies to employ? Etc.
I'm feeling pulled in two directions lads and I could use some advice. My HtV campaign fell apart because of scheduling, timezones and all that good shit. It was the Slasher game, I've been posting for about a year or so covering it. I want to do a followup game, same setting but a year or two down the line with a different splat. My two options are;>Requiem I've run it before, I know it well and I like it a lot. It's 1981 in London, England. For some reason, Embraces have been failing across the city. Childe are rising as Revenants and Draugr, or the Blood is not taking and they remain a corpse. The Ordo Dracul is investigating while the Lancea Sanctum believe that the biblical end of times is upon them, and God no longer has need of his Sanctified. The PCs would be either from out-of-town and caught up in the mystery, or they would be fresh embraces that have mysteriously succeeded, drawing the attention of every Kindred in the city. What is actually causing the problem, I'm not sure yet. Strix are a safe bet.My other option is >Forsaken I've never run or played a Werewolf game, but Forsaken appeals to me a lot. The Players would be attending a conclave of sorts of the various tribes, gathering to retake to south-east of England from the Pure. The PCs pick and choose their targets as part of a wider war-effort, hunting all sorts of monsters and horrors as well as the Pure, they may even cross into London and tangle with the Kindred there. Maybe an Idigam is behind it, maybe they're responsible for what's happening in London too. They'll also have the option of encountering the Hunter PCs from the HtV campaign. Which sounds more interesting? I like the idea of both, though I'm mainly concerned about the Forsaken option as I don't know if that's the right format for a game?
>>98219446Requiem's got my vote.
>>98219446Requiem sounds cooler. It's hard to make dogs interesting.
Which clan do you think Thanasis Vagias, who used to be Ali Pasha's counselor and later a governor of the newly founded state of Greece, and was later falsely portrayed as a traitor to his nation who rose as a vampire after his death, would be?
>>98219389According to the lore and the general expectation of how the game should be played, a character like that is impossible and unplayable. After being trapped in the Digital Web and denied the opportunity to return to reality in a physical way, she'd suffer from disembodiment and become a spirit of that realm, no longer a mage. Your only real option to ask your ST if you can play a familiar instead of a mage and build a spirit with lots of tech-focused charms, using the rules in Gods & Monsters if you're playing M20.
>>98219515Lasombra.
>>98219446You would be running Forsaken like it is Apocalypse, so you would have to come up with the meat and sinew of the game on your own.Having run Forsaken, I very much enjoy it; it has consistently offered and led to the best group dynamics of any game I have run.Your Requiem game has stronger themes, and easier to draw players in to.
>>98219499I feel like Forsaken, with an Idigam and Spirits in general, has a higher ceiling for drama and power, which to me says I ought to leave it for last. The preceeding campaigns everyone dicks about, makes a mess in the Hisil and the consequences are felt by the Uratha who have to wrangle it all back into shape. Kindred have no real innate ability to deal with anything ephemeral, and are largely ignorant it event exists at all by default so I like that angle a lot. The Uratha pull back the curtain on everything that's happened so far and surprise, it's all gone to shit. I've already established a large murder spirit existing just outside London, pic related. Murderous Intent, a rank 4 Spirit. I feel like an Idigam would be a worthwhile unifying bad guy across both campaigns. The Pure (fire-touched tribe, I think?) follow it for its power to merge flesh and spirit. Kindred have no such involvement, but maybe some Spirit-ridden in the thrall of the Idigam is wreaking havoc in London, somehow responsible for the epidemic assailing the vampires there. I'd need to give that part some thought, but there's definitely room for some overlap therein. >>98219589Tell me more about how the game is like Apocalypse. I can't find good examples of actual play online for Forsaken, and the book is pretty vague outside of "gotta hunt, gotta get it on". I figured a strong drive of "organised guerrilla war" would help provide additional context for said hunt.
What books for deviant are there? I was poking around and saw there was apparently a third variable for them called form, which seemed cool but I didn't see anything about these forms in the core book or devoted companion
>>98219589>>98219612Hit post a bit early. I don't think the wider war/conclave angle is 100% necessary. It could just be that the PCs territory is invaded by the Pure and they have to maintain it. Conceptually it's the same thing, to my understanding?
>>98190402>Demon is about being the secret underpinning of the world. Even without mortal institutions to corrupt, there are so many ways to cause destruction and disorder. Chaos reigns!>Can you expand on what you mean by this?In this Fan Reboot of the World of Darkness, instead of vampires or magi being privileged in terms of setting and metaphysics, demons take priority. In ancient cultures, demons cause (or are associated with) natural disasters, usually storms or plagues.>Tbh if we're folding Mummy under Wraith, it's probably a good sign that Wraith would be capable of telling Mummy-like stories. This might work, since both ghost stories and mummy stories tend to involve tragedy and reclamation of personal effects.>>98190458>Why the hell do people think doing a fan continuation, only to change everything, won't result in exactly the lump of shit everyone hated wod5 for?As for myself, I'm not interested in rehashing the Old World of Darkness. I came into the fandom via the Chronicles of Darkness (called the "New World of Darkness" at the time). I like its modularity and consistency, but I also enjoy the style of Old World of Darkness.I decided to start with Demon, since both the Old World of Darkness and the Chronicles of Darkness implied that it was important to the overall setting but they introduced it too late to matter. I wanted to rectify this error by putting it front and center.
>>98219879>>98190467>How do you think the Masquerade would be maintained for demons here?If ancient myths are to be believed, agents of civilization and order tend to subdue Chaos and its offspring. Though, of course, to state that it was ever totally defeated is pure propaganda. In addition to heroes, hunters, holy men, and others who seek to slay or subjugate demons, a demon's power level can handicap it. If a demon is too weak, it is barely noticable in the material world. If it is too powerful, it must dwell in Hell. Some say this is an imposition of the forces of order but others counter that it is merely "like seeking like".

>>98220351Like I said, I consider Disembodiment stuff stupid and mostly to limit normal players. Especially because Marauders and Nephandi are immune to it.

Can someone either give examples or explain how Sorcery works, in regards to Path dots, successes, aspects, and such? I'm not sure if I'm misreading the information in Sorcerer Revised or what, but I'm reading about stuff like pushing above your normal level of power by getting twice your required successes without even being sure how to tell the required successes. I think I might be mixing up the difficulty, the dots and the successes...Do you essentially get your dots in the Path as extra successes if you succeed? What do you have to assign before casting and what do you decide once you see the extra successes you get?
>>98221046Before casting you first have to select the aspect levels you want.Successes needed are based on selected aspect levels. [Highest aspect] + 4.The first level of every aspect is earned on your first success. Beyond that you need one success per aspect level.Path dots don't give extra successes. If you score double the needed successes you can beg your ST to improve one aspect by one level. This is rarely relevant and your ST might just say no.The aspect rules are horribly written.
>>98221184>Successes needed are based on selected aspect levels. [Highest aspect] + 4.I mistyped. That's formula is for difficulty, not successes needed.
>>98221184>Path dots don't give extra successes. So if you are a master of a path and have it at 5 dots, and are trying to cast a typical Path 5 spell (not even a ritual), you'd need to not only beat the Difficulty 9 roll but ALSO get four extra successes on it? Is that right? That felt like a possible interpretation, but it also seemed to go against how the default effects are described (and it also feels counterintuitive in other ways)
>>98221256>So if you are a master of a path and have it at 5 dots, and are trying to cast a typical Path 5 spell (not even a ritual), you'd need to not only beat the Difficulty 9 roll but ALSO get four extra successes on it? Is that right? That's right. Assuming it's only one aspect/other aspects are level 1.
Anybody have the Mage the ascension -> Mage the awakening conversion?I remember some old google docs with the old traditions reworked into the new system.I like the flavor of the traditions but I don't wanna fall on the consensual epistemology blackhole. Just wanna do cool mage pew pewing spells with reality backlashing at them.
>>98220767I live in hope and that's about all I can go on right now. I'm skimming War Against the Pure and it mentions the Brethren War, a guerrilla war in the 90s that the Pure waged against the Uratha. This campaign could well serve as the inciting incident for that, providing Pure packs with the motivation and casus beli to form up and strike back en masse. My main thing to ponder right now is, does it need to be a big war? Would the game work better as "All the Uratha in East Anglia are getting murdered and you're the last pack standing"? Or would skipping a bit ahead in that timeline to "All the Uratha in East Anglia are dead and you're going to reclaim it" work better? My general roadplan for a campaign in this general format is to provide a big sandbox and see what threads the players pull on. In the past I've made big maps of towns and marked areas for different factions/NPCs etc, which would definitely lend itself well to a larger war campaign, so I am erring more to that side. Pic rel is the HtV map.

>>98221626forgot to say it was mtsc, sorry
>>98221626Heard that at 6+ you subtract successes instead of dice, though unfortunately you can’t turn it off. Ever. And at 10 you just cease to exist because reality itself can’t factor in your existence.
>>98221626>>98221729...Mage the Sorcerer's Crusade? If so, Ascension then.Arcane adds to your Stealth pools plus removes dice from everyone's Perception and Investigation pool against you.Arcane 8-9-10 also subtracts Success from anything that somehow managed to get success against that.Even if it is unlikely you will get more than 5, Arcane 5+ also has narrative effects (like Arcane10 basically making you immune to all sensory supernatural powers)Anything more than Arcane 10 makes you go puff as the universe forgets you exists and thus you become non-existent.

So is there really no better resource for running the original Chicago Chronicles than the 1-3 compilation books? The V20 Dust to Dust really is just a "new adventure for everyone left over after the fact"? I'll do it if I have to but my zoomer attention span craves a better formatted version with less filler NPCs than these unc-aah books.

>>98221521Man, it sucks that someone who puts in as much effort as you do is struggling to hold down a table. I wish you the best, Anon. As for the conceit of this hypothetical Forsaken game, I'd say "All the Uratha in East Anglia are getting murdered and you're the last pack standing" is the better option. Because it gives the PCs more opportunities. Every Uratha, Wolf-Blooded or even normie ally they can save during the initial collapse is someone in their pocket when it comes to taking it back. Starting during the fall will make the stakes feel more real to them and give them much more skin in the game.

>>98222792>I thought Paths were supposed to be the fast ones in comparison to rituals, but maybe not. And I have no clue how much of a point there is to Fast Castting, then...Rituals are mainly a way to do something above your normal cap and fast casting is a way to do shit in action scene, like a diviner tossing a coin to see what side would lead to safety during a longer chase or the Conjurer needing to throw the kichen sink at a guy RIGHT NOW.
>>98222792>Because things will very quickly get to the point where Attribute 5 + Ability 5 is just not enough. That's when you start buying Talismans & Devices to raise your effective rating. Like a diviner's mirror or a smith's hammer and anvil.
>>98219879I've decided to consolidate Prometheans and Deviants under the category of "(mad) science experiments". The scientists / alchemists / ritualists will likely be a branch of the Mortal line, along with hunters. Should the latter be an antagonist-only faction or should they be playable?
>>98219879>>Tbh if we're folding Mummy under Wraith, it's probably a good sign that Wraith would be capable of telling Mummy-like stories.I thought that we wanted corporeal undead (vampires, mummies, zombies?), incorporeal undead (ghosts), incorporeal spirits (demons, possibly angels, possibly fae), and mortals which bargain for power.

I'm working on a hack of Mage: The Awakening that shifts the focus away from fighting the Lie and becoming increasingly godlike. Instead, the game is built around cosmic horror, occult investigation, and the pursuit of forbidden knowledge. The core inspiration comes as much from Call of Cthulhu and Lovecraft's Dreamlands as it does from Mage.In this setting, mages do not awaken to Watchtowers. Instead, they reach a mysterious place known as the Tower, usually through dreams, near-death experiences, mystical visions, or occult exploration. The Tower lies beyond the Dreamlands and serves as a crossroads connecting countless realities, worlds, and pathways. At its heart stand the Pillars, immense structures inscribed with ancient Scripts that represent fundamental ways humans understand reality. These Scripts—such as Nhex (Death), Veyr (Life), Orath (Names), and Voth (Becoming)—function as magical languages. A mage's power comes from learning to read and speak them. What awakening calls arcana are reimagined as levels of literacy in these Scripts. Spells are not reality-warping acts of will but carefully constructed statements written in languages older than human civilization. Most mages believe the Pillars lead toward the Supernal Realms, perfected domains that embody the principles represented by each Script. However, experienced mages eventually discover evidence that the Supernal may not be the final truth. The Tower contains forgotten roads, hidden Gates, and strange regions that seem unrelated to humanity altogether. Records left behind by vanished archmages suggest that other species may have encountered different Pillars, different Scripts, and entirely different paths through the Tower.
>>98223422This leads to one of the central mysteries of the setting: the possibility that the pillars and the supernal are not universal truths, but specifically human interpretations of deeper realities.Beyond the supernal lies what many call the Horizon, where the limits of human understanding begin to appear. Beyond the Horizon are the mythos, the outer scripts, and truths that cannot be fully translated into human concepts. Languages such as aklo allow mages to bypass parts of the supernal framework and interact with reality more directly, but doing so often accelerates their psychological and spiritual transformation. As a result, the game is less about gaining power and more about uncovering mysteries. magic is dangerous not because reality rejects it, but because every revelation changes the person who discovers it. The further a mage climbs, the more they realize that reality is larger, older, and stranger than humanity ever imagined. The cosmology works something like thisHumanity->Dreamlands->The Tower->The Pillars->The Supernal Realms->The Horizon->The Mythos->The Cosmos->The Great Old Ones->The Outer Gods->Azathoth
>>98223422>>98223425I'm just refining it and liking where it is going.Any idea is more than welcome.
>>98223433>>98223425>>98223422In this setting you have "The seers of the tower" which is a cabal of hermetic mages that want to stop other mages from exploring "higher" into the tower. Their reason is to preserve humanity cause ascending the tower, going beyond the supernal realms means becoming something profoundly alien. Becoming an archmage means trascending humanity in a literal sense. The "dark pilgrim" is an entity that have been walking the tower for millennia and has steered the seers of the tower in that direction. In this setting the nephandi are basically mages that ignored the pillars and the supernal realms altogether, their got lost in the tower and walked a different path learning aliens magics directly. The game relies heavily in rote magic and not so much spontaneous magic. Spontaneous magic should be something that is rare and extremely volatile and dangerous. The rotes are divided in "safe rotes", "deep rotes", "horizon rotes" and "mythos rotes", every each going deeper and deeper transcending the supernal magicks. The rotes will have requirements in different scripts, for example a verbena rote could have a requirement in Veyr (life), aklo and gnosis. The higher the requirements the more dangerous (and the higher the sanity cost) for the spell.Gnosis will determine how far gone a person is.Gnosis 1 -> AwakeningGnosis 2 -> The supernalGnosis 3 -> The horizonGnosis 4 -> Cracks in the supernalGnosis 5 -> The mythosGnosis 6+ -> Beyond the pillars
>>98222667I do usually, but seeing as everyone always touts the "classic" stories as good it makes it more so frustrating to sit through 30 forgettable filler NPCs to find the Helenas and Mithrases that are actually moving the plot along.>>98222710Yes I suppose skimming really is the only way rather than expect a compilation of the actually important and memorable characters. Either convert it to a better edition (legwork) or run it as is and hope the social atmosphere is enough for you to forgive the slight against your intelligence that is the newer editions.Other than that, I think DnD is generally interesting enough and more serviceable to tell light hearted stories or incorporate a lot more combat and character fantasy than WoD so it's not a terrible idea. Yeah, the ruleset sucks and unfortunately it'll detract from the setting to have as much focus on combat as DnD has anyway, but if it's a decent enough intro to WoD or Dark Ages for DnD players it can be good enough as just that. The real strength of WoD is more in the setting than the system I think, even if they work pretty well together.

Are there any good websites with advice on how to run games that do not have dungeons or killing monsters for gold/xp? Could a single Euthanatoi Archmage solo an entire city's Camarilla?
>>98228036Considering that an archmage with Entropy 7 can manipulate probability to create a chain of bafflingly unlikely events that collectively lead to the extinction of an entire species, yes. It would just be a case of them scaling such a ritual down and targetting a smaller group, in this case, a single city's Camarilla. All the archmage would need to do is sit back in their sanctum, cast the ritual and wait for the inevitable. A lot of archmage shit is stupidly powerful to the point where the only thing capable of fighting back against it is ten-dots-in-a-discipline plot device bullshit.
>>98227671Honestly not very, certainly compared to some of you. Sexual stuff comes up but the act itself isn't usually the focal point, nor is it ever played for titillation. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that kind of stuff with my friends. It's weird, I actually do think about my PC's sexual orientation and even sometimes kinks, but the latter doesn't ever come up, I'm just the kind of player that likes to think about and get into the headspace of their characters, and that's a normal' albeit usually private, part of being human. Even if you erased my sense of shame and the consequences for being horny at the table, it wouldn't be much to write home about. Mostly just bondage and domination assisted by supernatural powers.

>>98228036Theoretically absolutely. But while Archmage fuckery is bullshit beyond belief, we have to acknowledge that the whole "the elders pull strings from the shadows" and "the antedeluvians speak through the blood" has genuine merit narratively if not mechanically, and they would likely actively oppose such a thing the moment it becomes apparent, which is after three primogen accidentally fall on stakes by pure accident in a single night. Also, archmages are barely even fucking human, why would they give a shit about cockroaches? They have cockroach-free horizon realms at home.

>>98228147That's the point, though. Nothing's stopping e.g. the resident Malk primogen from arranging things via Auspex and Dementation (maybe Dominate too) to have a bunch of hobos gangstalk the mage by coincidence until he gets paradox'd to death when a bunch of crackheads catch a glimpse of him doing his hocus pocus at the worst possible time, "coincidental" or no.
>>98228131By that point, the ritual has already been cast and the fate of the Camarilla in that city is set in stone. The only way to make this an even fight is if all of the Camarilla and the archmage are put in a room and forced to duke it out there, in which case, the Camarilla come out on top. But you have to ask the question of how the archmage was so retarded that he ended up in a cage-match, instead of picking off the vampires with ritual magic from a comfy, warded sanctum, in which his magic is not vulgar and would not cause Paradox, even if a gaggle of hobos like >>98228165 suggests do manage to somehow infiltrate it and bypass its likely numerous defences to witness the ritual.

Could a single fourth-generation methuselah solo an entire city's Chantry? The answer is yes, they could, just like an archmage could solo an entire city's Camarilla.
>>98228202>>98228036Honestly that's more reasonable. This is a single city. A single Methusaleh, Mummy, Master Mage [not archmage], or Garou Legend strolling up could absolutely crater a city full of leeches and the best case scenario is that city sits on some other being in that tiers strategic interest and choose to get involved.

>>98228176>Camarilla and the archmage are put in a room and forced to duke it out thereThey are, by the way. The "room" is the Tellurian.
>>98228324>If the power acting upon the world ceases, it may well avert disaster.I mean by M20 ritual spells that have been locked into Patterns with pre-set duration are entirely out of the mage's control. You can kill the mage and the ritual will keep going unless you find another Mage with the appropriate Spheres to do the Unweaving.
There are 3300 vampires living in the United States alone. The average Camarilla city possesses a Prince whose usually an Elder of the Sixth or Seventh Generation and a group of Primogen who are usually made up of the oldest or most influential members of a given Clan. The rest of the city is a pool of Ancillae and a majority population of neonates. So we're talking one elder, 6-12 weaker elders or ancillae, a broader pool of ancillae filling the common roles, and a few dozen neonates as the average vampire city. I'm fairly confident you could wipe a vampire city's leadership off the map as a third party and all that would happen is the lower ranked survivors would seize the reigns or opportunistic vampires from adjacent areas would extend their territory. For most non-critical cities you could wipe the whole city's undead population off the map and cause at worst a regional crisis. The Camarilla isn't going to descend on you like a storm for pulling shit like this. The Lupines wiped out all the vampires in Fort Worth? Shit that sucks, lets wait twenty years then send in some guys to rebuild.
Where dem Glass Walker women at??
>>98228347That feels like such a low number. If you told me that was everyone in, like, New York or LA I'd believe you. The whole county? You know Canada and Mexico's vampire populations would be tokien satellite branches of the American Camarilla, so they wouldn't be big enough to rival the US pop. 3000 is basically all the North American vampires. Just feels so unbelievable.
>>98228401Honestly I feel the opposite, I'd cut the number down significantly. The idea you could keep the lid on 80,000 vampires globally to me strains my disbelief to breaking, and shatters it when you add in all the other freaks. I do a lot of demographics for my games, most of my educated guestimates put the total number of nontrivial supernaturals on Earth at like a quarter million. That's crazy to me.From a Storyteller perspective I also prefer low numbers. If there's 190 vampires in New York State [presumably cut up into the 4-5 biggest cities with few suburban or rural vamps] then a coterie changing things up in one of them doesn't really seem improbable. Less freaks means each freak has more potential influence, IMHO.
>>98228187Mages don't get patadox for rituals done in their sanctum. The office worker would at best increase the difficulty of the ritual by +1.That the equivalent of saying a vampire instantly dies of sunlight while in their sunproof haven, it makes no sense.
>>98228408I think the writers severely underestimated the size of the herd a vampire would need to feed safely, even pre-V5 blood potency shit.
>>98228428Hmm, now I'm curious. Let me math it. So a vampire needs 1 BP per night to rise, so that's 365 blood points per year just to exist. Lets assume they also spend more on Discipline use and healing and for ease round that up to about 700 BP per vampire per year. The average human possesses 10 Blood Points in their whole body. So vampires need to drink 70 humans worth of blood every year, or 1 every 5.2 days. Obviously Kindred prefer not to kill this often so rather than 70 to death its more like 140 to 350 people being fed on per vampire per year. And this is if all vampires survived on humans only [blood packs and animals also work] and that herds didn't exist and hunting was their only food supply. In a world where humans outnumber vampires 100,000 to 1, even the far extremes don't strike me as unreasonable. If the masquerade wasn't a factor you could physically feed way, way more Kindred than actually exist. The numbers are kept artificially low due to the need for secrecy and the Elders not wanting more subjects than they think they can reasonably rule over. If it was all herds it might be an issue, but I imagine vampires doing a lot of hunting and a lot of rationing themselves on fucking pig blood.
>>98228451Ghouls likely cut down the numbers a fair bit once you have a few to rotate between.
>>98228451It's a question of how many humans they can actually have available to safely feed from regularly. Particularly for a vamp without dominate or presence who can't just mind whammy some random stranger. Oblivious club goers willing to go into a backroom with a stranger and then not mind getting a particularly aggressive hickey are a small and finite resource.>>98228502Ghouls use up vitae at a rate higher than you could safely feed from them.
>>98228512Ghouls need 1 Blood Point a month to stay Ghouled. Assuming thats comparable to a blood donation, you'd need to wait 2 days to regain the volume of blood lost but 3 months to fully recover. So ghouls would probably be a net loss in vitae unless you were greatly abusing them in which case I assume they'd die eventually. But overall I assume between herds, animals, and hunted people it all evens out. The logistics seem like they're not a hard sell when all my math caps out at maybe a victim a day and vampires are so utterly few in comparison. One kindred with 100,000 mortals to work with can figure something out, especially since vampires have had millennia to sort out what works.
>>98228451What's the rate of BP regen for a normal human? Even if it's only 1 BP a week, which seems extremely low unless everyone on earth is anemic, you'd only need 7-14 cattle humans for each vampire. So while 80k seems like an insane number, it would be more reasonable in practice... except that vampires almost exclusively live in cities and are therefore constantly feeding on the same supply and stepping on each others' toes all the time.
>>98228529>>982285341 WHO standard blood unit is, conveniently, also almost exactly 1/10th of the blood in an average human.
>>98228512>Oblivious club goers willing to go into a backroom with a stranger and then not mind getting a particularly aggressive hickey are a small and finite resource. You're severely underestimating the amount of clubgoers willing to do something like that.
>>98228534>>98228537Google fu says that a blood donor shouldn't donate blood more than once every 12 weeks for long term health. So presumably a vampire who fed from his ghouls every week would eventually kill them, though I don't know enough about medicine to say how quickly.
>>98228537Hmm, so in that case, assuming it's the RBC and not the plasma that's important, it does take 4 weeks to regenerate fully. Which would significantly increase the requirement since each vamp is burning almost an entire month's worth of RBC each day just to exist. That is pretty big, especially in winter and/or colder climates where people are less likely to spend nights out rather than in.

>>98228142Depends on what you mean. I've discarded a lot of small lore, like who is Prince, what sect owns what city, stuff like that. I'm also happy to mix and match stuff between gamelines, I'll take stuff from Requiem fairly often. Hunter: the Vigil is naturally fairly open. I also create custom monsters fairly often and work them into what my table has going on, but it's still staying in a WoD of sorts. Just my group's very customized WoD that'd make purists shit themselves.Only time we've done something like what you're suggesting is when we used Hunter: the Vigil for a game set in MtG's Innistrad setting. The official 5e book for it wasn't out and honestly while it still wasn't perfect we felt it fit the dark fantasy a little better than D&D.
>>98228142At one point wanted to use ExWoD Dark Ages to run a Bloodborne-esque urban fantasy game in a homebrew setting patchworked from gothic classics and found footage horror podcasts.Might get back to workshopping it some day.
>>98228111Plenty of hobos have their brains cooked badly enough in some way that 2 hermetics dueling in front of them wouldn’t register as weird. If you want to nuke a mage with paradox, you need either an upper middle class office worker, or a sleeper scientist (especially one working for DNA since even seeing a garou step sideways in front of the cameras didn’t convince them that the supernatural exists)
You know, if we enchanted the sleepers with that fae magic more often we wouldn’t be kicked in the nuts by paradox.
>>98228693
>>98229192Anon, the intelligence of individual Sleepers present is irrelevant to spell vulgarity. Whether you spell is vulgar or not is based on the HAB (Hypothetical Average Bystander) of the region. Now, could you argue that the specific Sleepers around you at the moment of casting a spell are too retarded/stoned to realize they're seeing the impossible? Maybe, but at best that'll just mean it doesn't count as "vulgar with witnesses". You're still getting Dox'd, bitch.
>>98228330That just means that someone needs to make a reluctant call to the local chantry and hope they'll be cooperative.
>>98228016It would certainly be entertaining, but obviously I won't hold any expectations for my character to be incorporated into another table's chronicle. I might do a scribble of Shark for funsies though. Does he canonically wear the metallic drama mask featured in the picture you've posted?
>>98229266Why would any Chantry actually want to stop the Leech Stomper 9000 from clearing out their turf? Not to mention Mages are much rarer than vamps so there's no guarantee they'll have someone with the right Spheres available locally.
>>98229236stinky is good actually
>>98228545If they are a ghoul, they'll be fine. Ghouls become incredibly resilient compared to humans. Honestly if it wasn't for the hypergay brainwash aspect, ghouls would be the unquestionable winners of the setting, save *perhaps* arguably awakened.
>>98229284Because they are also Camarilla, whether you like it or not.
>>98229288Have you seen any alligators in the sewer lately?
>>98229306Traditions don't give a fuck about maintaining the Masquerade, mate. Vamps getting outed would be such a radical shit to the Consensus that any Tradition mages actually invested in the Ascension War would welcome humanity accepting the existence of monstersAt best vamps could get help from the Technocracy, but those are about as likely to just let the ritual run is course and then cover the death up. Mages largely don't give a fuck about whether vamps society survives.
>>98229222You'd need the fae to actually do something useful for once and that's not happening. I think it would also wear off over time.
>>98229255Yes, but a witness increases both the difficulty of the spell AND the amount of paradox the mage gets in a botch, so if you want to ensure that he’ll get dragged into the Weaver’s mage spider torture dungeon, you want someone who can see that and go “wait, that’s impossible”

how hard would it be to convince a khan consor to stay in sokto form
>>98226863>>98226908>>98227418Ok I got itA Coach looking to make their protégé a big star. Failed to reach Golconda but this new kid has potential.
>>98231024So basically vampires in your homebrew are Lilith’s personal army/harem of juiced up gay bodybuilders?>>98231155You’re assuming that a gay SF wouldn’t seek out one of his male cousins first (probably a fellow garou instead of kinfolk)
>>98231900you are playing the coach not the protégé right? sounds good you can play up that the character did something that makes them believe that they will never ever deserve to reach golconda afterwardsone thing i would probably do is have the character still look for said protégé and then you can explore if that person would look for a childe who is basicly themselves but without what they see as the character flaw that lead to them being convinced that they can't reach golconda or for someone very unlike themselves which of course requires the character to self reflect which would invite the question of if they really are doomed or not
>>98231936>Lilith’s personal army/harem of juiced up gay bodybuildersNah. Lilith would have an army of twinks and pent up femboys along with various monsters you would expect to appear on the covers of womens' gooner books
>>98231870As the most horny of the fera breeds, it would entirely depend on how often and how enthusiastically you fuck them in sokto.I do have to ask, why? Khan aren't one of the bastet tribes that get an appearance bonus in sokto. They don't turn into catgirls like the bubasti, ceilican, qualmi, and simba do.
>>98232034>I do have to ask, why?
>>98231936Somehow I feel like gay seduction and implied bestiality are less thematic if it's a kinfolk and the Garou is the one pursuing it. Just my 2 cents there.>Juiced up gay bodybuilder vampiresThe Brujah's new gym recruitment operation for disillusioned political extremists must be producing numbers then.
