Nerdiness went from hated to performatively cool and back to hated for the completely opposite reason. Kinda wild.
Grognards are never happy. They want everything to be just like it used to be 50 years ago so they can feel like they did when they were kids and didn't know anything. They don't realize the system didn't have anything to do with that feeling, it was the lack of responsibilities and the freedom to be able to put most of your time and energy into gaming. So they blame not feeling that way on WOKE and ignore that the world has moved on without them.

The moral of the story is that the inshitification of D&D will continue as long as WotC has no reason to fear backlash. Ive moved on to other systems and I suggest everyone else here do the same.
