Frog FTK won worlds.
OCG really liked the ghostrick FTK as well, but it wasn't consistent enough to have any of its pieces banned.
OCG did ban cannon soldier, some amazon card and iirc both formats have catapult turtle banned as well, since you can pull it off with seventh tachyon and any rank 8 engine, like the tachyon dragon cards themselves or mitsurugi.
Mitsurugi also got a gimmick puppet card banned due to another FTK it could consistently pull off, even though the right move was banning the raidraptor card instead, which saw no use in the deck unlike fanatix.

OCG is a shit show. Who likes FTKs? Game is already degenerate enough.

Anyone got a good start for a Dragonmaid Dragon Link deck? All I can find are Pre-Lady's lists or master duel lists :/

Dragonmaid link was never a thing, back in the day the deck was so shitty that it needed help to go seals pass, which is why they slotted in REDMD and all that stuff.

You want to slop up dragonmaid, you go for dracotail or the end dragon engine.

Define "that actually worked". Ghosttrick and Sumo Dice Game alt wincons kinda work sometimes. Jackpot 7 also worked during Tearlaments format.

Besides sakitama, are there any other generic level 4 extenders i could use in ryzeal? Even with maxed out names, 3 tachyon, 3 ascension, the aforementioned spirit monster and bonfire i still only come up to 20 names, and 20 handtraps seems excessive for a deck that lost its incredible consistency.

I don't like mitsurugi by the way, and i don't think there's another engine that can help out the deck.

I'm looking to get into the TCG but trying to learn the rules and how to play has been a bit overwhelming. Is there a generally agreed best place to start? I have the Legendary Modern Deck set coming in the mail, and there is an official store about an hour away from where I live. I saw a few Youtube videos say the best way is to just take the plunge and ask my opponent to be patient and help me, but I'm assuming that's after I grasp what I'm doing.

Yes for playing the very surface level mechanics and using the client. No for any concept under that surface level. Nobody has really figured out a good way to teach the game comprehensively and convey "what you should be doing" because archetypes operate so different and that advice isn't universal.

Think of the game as an asymmetrical board game. Technically you have the same objective but how you're going to get there is extremely different. And in that line of thinking learn just your deck and don't worry as much about everyone elses just yet. Otherwise you're trying to learn the game alongside a ton of decks that don't improve your core understanding of the game and are rather something you learn later.
Learn how to scan card text for important words rather than try and digest the entire text. Looking for words like destroy, negate, add to hand, quick effect, etc. and only once you've spotted those should you read the rest of that effect. You can start to hard read and learn text later once your are confident with your play so your attention isn't split.
Learning chains and how to properly manage them as well as something like dodging a targeted effect is a secondary understanding that no rules book or tutorial will teach you. These are things that you learn when you're trying to get better at the game rather than trying to learn the game. Understand trigger vs ignition vs condition.

If you prefer to try and learn the game with somebody else verbally I'm sure we can try and arrange something and use the basically defunct remote duel discord.
