The horrendous internal balance? Chaos warriors, the very namesake of the army, being so completely shit that bringing any of them is actively a detriment? Chariots being a really powerful mount for sorcerers and utterly useless in all other scenarios? The mind-numbingly miserably magic items? The insultingly restrictive and unnecessarily banal chaotic traits? Do you nerf/obliterate/fix what's currently being spammed by competitive players (read: the only units that are actually good and/or fun) at the risk of making the army even more boring than it already is or do you try raising up what's bad (read: everything else) at the risk of making the army overpowered? Should the community take charge and write up our own Liber Chaotica and say to hell with GW's rules? Which ruleset should said Liber Chaotica be based on? We're firmly in the grip of 6th's 1A heavy armour warriors, but what about 8th's 2A chaos armour warriors?I don't know, so I just keep painting more Chaos warriors. I like Chaos warriors. They're cool. Hopefully I'll get to use these guys in earlier editions of the game someday, once they're fully painted. Preferably an edition that actually has Chaos spell lores so my sorcerers aren't just more expensive empire wizards with heavy armour and a single boring and shit "Chaos" spell for an extra 10 points.It's very telling that 8th edition, was able to present an incomprehensibly better list of Chaos magic items in 2 pages than TOW was able to do in 2 arcane journals and Ravening Hordes. However, this isn't just a Chaos problem. Every army has this problem in TOW. But perhaps I'm being too negative.

>>98227990Not him but I am the bloke you inspired to pick up marauders and Khorne Chaos and I think you're being a tad negative. Everything you said in principal is right but a little overblown IMO. Yes Chaos is a bit streamlined but I think that is predominantly restricted to overtly competitive environments. To your first point, almost every army has a limited roster when it comes to competitive choices, especially in tournaments. O&G, despite having a huge army list, focus on maybe 1/4 of their units. I never had a severe issue with the Chaos Warrior unit even pre FAQ. Yes, over investing in them hurts the armies integrity, but they're not unplayable and act as a decent anvil. Furthermore, the magic items seem ok in my view. Armour of the Damned is a favourite of mine and Chaos Runeswords are pretty solid. 8ths items were extremely tight in selection. That sajd, I am also aware you have far more games under your belt but I am going to be leading my footsy Khorne Champion with his Chosen Warriors soon. I hope to share that with you in a few weeks.FOR CHAOS!!!
Took a couple of pictures of my almost finished Chaos Dragon of Nurgle. Last time I asked people said to put some more yellow into the scaly areas so I did so. I really like how it turned out overall. Might be a bit too "forest-y" like previously mentioned but I didn't have the correct shade and it was sold out at my LGS so I had to use what I had on hand.1/3
