I'mma take a different angle...Arranged marriages were the norm not but 200 years ago. Some still to this day. Love was not a factor at all. Humans are designed to accept what they have to and love making was purely for the sake of kids or because one of the couple wanted to. Now, with modern "Lawful Good" love, one partner will have little power in the dynamic. So, if you consider that Lawful Evil is more contractually obligated to satisfy needs, it stands to reason that someone would be drawn closer to the feelings of power a Lawful Evil relationship would provide.
