How come HH-era armor is so much cooler than 40k slop?
>>98255154Nu Marines are too clean and simplistic. Probably a deliberate choice since they have to be the new player faction.
>>98255154>beaky helmets>no primarisThat's it, really.
>>98255154Post your models and I'll tell you, mate.
>>98255478Dude goes around mating with other guys. Fag.
>>98255690>mating>gayMating usually implies procreation, not merely copulation. ESL?
>>98255154The Horus Heresy puts a lot more effort into making each Legion feel distinct. Since the setting has a big issue with “it’s just marines fighting marines” the game invests heavily in giving every Legion its own identity through unique units and upgrade sets. Even the more common armor marks used across all Legions have strong visual and lore identity, which lets you tell very different stories with them.A ragged Iron Warriors force struggling with supply issues? MK II, III, or V armor immediately sells that. A lavishly equipped Imperial Fists assault? MK IV plate paired with ornate Terminators does the job perfectly. It’s far more expressive than the typical Primaris approach of same model, different chapter paint, and whatever minimal unique bits the GW maybe bothered to give them. That said, Heresy doesn’t always get it right. The 2.0 edition awkwardly retconned huge numbers of MK VI suits into every Legion, replaced the really nice old MK III kit with a newer one many players aren’t as sold on, and introduced several “artisan” armor variants that don’t really resemble any established mark they just exist because the lore now says they do. GW have also been pretty poor at supporting each legion equally. 2.0 was very obsessed with kits that where pretty clearly only meant for Sons of Horus and Imperial Fist while some legions don’t have much beyond a terminator variant, an upgrade set or two, and that’s about it despite the game being over a decade old. These ugly things are a perfect example of how the Horus Heresy can occasionally fumble a design.
>>98255154i cant believe they found a way to make warhammer gayer than it already was with these action figures and it actually caught on. paypigs deserve everything that happens to them, tranny space marines, $150 5 man squads, mandatory $70 rule books that drop every 3 months, all of it.
>>98255724Some of the legion terminators are a bit lacking as well. Take the Deathshrouds, for example: their 40k variant uses Catiphractti with hoods, capes, belly plates, and chain mail, meanwhile their 30k version is just Tartaros with bonding studs and the plate loincloths.
>NuHeresy shitdesigns>toysHomosexuality of OP once again confirmed as undeniable fact, news at 11.
>>98255724You’ve described things well anon.I actually don’t mind the wolf heads. The beaky space wolf heads should have come first then the wolf heads.I kind of wish the other legion heads maintained the conical beaky shape instead of deviating from it like the iw and death guard and imperial fists and dark angels did.At least the space wolf head had a conical look with the cone being the wolf snout.I read that there is lore of the mk3 spiked armor being the production version of the mk3.Mk3 was always mk2 with extra plating if I recall correctly.Does this mean an updated mk3 faithful to the resin era mk3 will be “mk2b” power armor?
>>98255154>how come my slop tastes better than the slop in that other trough?!I dunno piggie, you tell me. It's all marineslop to me.
>>98255154I'll tell you, as soon as you define slop.
