>>98261761No harm in that, anon! I only made one or two builds but that was the most fun I've ever had with something multiplayer-ish in this general. >>98261948Nope, it gets reset, even in the books. They are akin to 'clothes' on the soul instead of any deeper bonding so they are scrubbed away by the loop protocols. You could probably make the connection permanent if you did some studies with both soul and blood magic though, there is a precedent with Quatach accidentally doing permanent alterations to Zach.

This is about the soul.bloodlines are tied to the physical body not the soul. Its tied to blood magic not soul magic, it deals with the lifeforce of the body. >>98262684(me)Oh, yeah on top of that soul and mind modifications only work for accidental loopers because the original loopers have their markers protect them from being modified too much as the marker auto resets as a protective measure.
>>98262706What is "too much"? Clearly, it is extremely lenient as it allows sufficient modification to create accidental loopers.
>>98262703>No, done it before.depends on if you were able to achieve a 100% chance of success or not. Because if you only succeeded in 1/10 loops well then you have a 9/10 chance to die outside of it and this is well considering that you do it all inside the tight constraints of the 1 month time period so it would closely resemble the loop because latter on it will start adding other factors that will start fucking up your chances.>Only matters if it can even find me.becoming an national pariah really hurts your long term research prospects>>98262715Its actually pretty damn strict because it pretty much reset the timeline the instant the attack hit. Zach didn't seem to be permanently effected at all, while Zorian was but he counts as an accidental looper. Its mostly just plot bullshit that such an infinitesimally small chance of things working correctly even occurred because if the marker was malformed then well Zorian would have been perm dead in the loop.
>>98262733You're writing like as if a good build upon exiting the time loop wouldn't be a nigh-divine being capable of magic hardly imaginable to even the greatest of current mages.
>>98262715Zach got his memory erased, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It works however the plot needs it to, which is to say that it's inconsistent.
>>98262754they wouldn't really be that powerful, like they don't have more mana than everyone else and you can only improve shaping skill so far. So a good battlemage group could actually kill them. >>98262770unstructured mind magic seems to be able to go trough it, this is why he always has mind blank on. But not soul magic so soul fuckery probably won't work.

>>98262778I think you're really underestimating someone who is better than everyone else at everything.
>>98262807>Does no one think of using temporary loopers?its not a manpower problem its an equipment problem, you can only use existing tools to develop new magics, you won't have the time to produce custom equipment. Sure you can easily develop personal magics, but it won't really compete with industrial scale magics.>Sounds like readers generously patching a plot hole for the author. If we take that to be true, we can extrapolate that "unstructured soul magic might to be able to go trough it".Self soul modification, risky business, if your lucky and fail your gonna burn trough some of your loops, if your not so lucky you might ruin the marker or no longer be recognized as the same individual causing perma death.
>>98262148I might sit out on Mother of Learning. Facebook's Reels has been giving me some really dark, disturbing Reels summaries of time loop plots, and its kind of killing the vibe for me.(Spousal abuse, family vendettas, "Saw"/"Hostel" levels of cruelty . . .)Oh well. You all seem to be having fun, so good luck! I'll catch you on the next big OC.
>>98262826that is the same arrogance that gets dragons killed, time loop is easy mode the enemies can't learn and adapt, there are no long term consequences, everything always pretty much happens exactly the same so you can just learn the pattern, you can just respawn. But if you keep the same reckless attitude outside of the loop you will be dead in a few months.
>>98262847>Facebook's ReelsAnon the machine is trying to eat your soul
>>98262847>(Spousal abuse, family vendettas, "Saw"/"Hostel" levels of cruelty . . .)the fuck? the heck did facebook feed you? don't remember any of this shit being major plot points
>>98262807Anon there's no plot hole. The soul marker is known to have protections for the original looper (Zach), but the exact limits aren't confirmed for how difficult it is to test (triggering them resets the loop, obviously). The marker is more like a really complicated peace of machinery in some ways than, well, magic. It's not unstructured mind magic that gets through though. Zach gets big chunks of his memory fucked with by a normal mind mage, probably because just futzing someone's memory but keeping them the same person wasn't sufficient to set off any protections. Zach was also leery of mind mages getting in there further , so it wasn't clear how reversible any 'damage' was or whether he just had compulsions to forget stuff. Some Soul Magic can absolutely be done on Zach - if it couldn't be the entire plot couldn't have happened - since magic is too intertwined with the soul for it to be too sensitive. But you're more likely to just trigger a reset doing anything too sensitive.
>>98262847weak bait
>>98262864Not Mother of Learning. Other time looping stories.Particularly in the last couple of days, I've been getting do-over ones. Two-three people loop back to a decision that changed their lives, and make it differently.Only the venom in the stories I've been getting recently . . .For example, one involved two brothers who saved a billionaire's life. As a reward, they can each pick a reward. Brother A wants to date the billionaire's daughter, while Brother B asks for money. Brother A goes on to marry the heiress, and together they establish a huge multinational conglomerate. Wealth beyond imagining. While Brother B squanders the money and lives a mediocre life. When the time loop happens, it's the day of the reward choice again. Brother B immediately jumps in, and asks permission to date the daughter - despite the fact that he believes his brother loved her, and also looped back. Brother A calmly accepts the money instead.Brother B makes a big deal of gloating and rubbing his new relationship in Brother A's face, and just generally being a major a-hole.What Brother B didn't know, however, is that Brother A's first life was utterly miserable, thanks to the heiress. Yeah, he had money, but the heiress wife was a sadistic psychopath who routinely tortured him, and used the family money to ensure he could never get away from her. So Brother A had never intended to ask to date her, the second time around. And when the heiress puts Brother B in the hospital, Brother A goes to see him . . .just to tell him that these injuries were only the tip of the iceberg, and the heiress was only going to get worse from then on out. And then pretty much abandons Brother B to his doom.Never explained why the two brothers hated each other so much. Just that they had no problem trying to ruin each other.(And that was hardly the darkest one that I've gotten recently. Had to block one Reels producer for going psycho-dark.)

>>98262977
>>98262733The spell actually stripped portions of Zach and Zorian's souls and left them inside each other to be slowly dissolved over the loops. That is a pretty big allowance.
>>98262977Greatest Planes Awakened build right here!
>>98262982its also the pretty much the damn riskiest thing you can do in a timeloop as you can potentially permanantly fuck your soul over or even full on accidentally delete yourself from the loop. If your lucky your just going to burn trough a few loops as the marker forces a reset to protect you. If your not you might get interrupted mid ritual and get some malformed cancerous soul modificaiton.Modifying yourself is a bad idea, modify other people instead its much safer as they won't trigger a reset and will respawn the next loop anyways. You can then use that knowledge to modify yourself outside the loop.
>>98261761
>>98263008Okay? Soul magic in the loop is literally safer due to the protection protocols and with soul perception you should be able to identify what you shouldn't touch. Experimenting with others is par for the course, you would have to be a retard to experiment while starting from yourself first.
>>98263030its a blanket protection, its safe because you can barely do anything to your soul, like Zach couldn't do some forms of soul training that Zorian could because of the limitation. Trying to modify yourself is pretty much trying to go around all of those protection protocals so you will either just burn trough a few loops from all of the failures, or fuck yourself up at some point. While you can experiment on other people, you don't have other loopers to experiment on. So if you somehow find a way to modify your soul without triggering the safeguard, but fuck it up mid ritual by reaching for something too big you might just get stuck with some malformed enchantment. The dangers don't come from soul magic itself, but from trying to go around the safeguards.
>>98261660How good is the Divine Stash?
>>98263122Pretty good. The most useful being the one that finds other Divine Artifacts since you can basically treasure hunt with that. The memory storage is useful if it goes across loops or dogshit otherwise.
>>98263125Someone else here said that you can study divine magic for your own use, is that true and if so how practical is it?
>>98263127Quatach-Ichl made a spell based off what he learned from researching his own Divine Blessing, that and with Ghost Eyes description it is theoretically possible. You would probably be limited to manipulating Divine artifacts slightly or making a very trashy Divine enhancement after wasting tons of artifacts for their divine energies. No chance at making Divine Artifacts or energies by yourself with manipulating existing stuff, particularly since the realms of the divine and infernal are both not in the loop to call upon.
>>98263140I'm wondering if it's worth giving up 3 of my >>98261624 8 years left in the loop for.
>>98263154I wouldn't try that on anything but Ikosian loops or Original Looper. Quatach ONLY got a spell out of it and he is a 1000 year old lich who was around when Gods were active and was a preeminent archmage for most of that time.
>>98263154NTA but might actually be worth it as well you can use them as bribes for people or a great source of funds. Giving you a lot more leverage to use in the loop which might give a decent multiplier for any projects your doing that it might just overcome the 3 year loss.
>>98263160>>98263169I think I'll leave it, I can probably make up for the money with my magic. ty ty.
>>98263185most highly powerful mages probably don't really care much about money, but divine artifact bribes on the other hand could work as well these are very limited and rare commodities and some of them are pretty strong so I am sure it will be quite in high demand.

>>98263579youre not really turbo levelling them in the loop any faster than you could training outside of the loop as the loop is a month long and it takes only hours to regen mana fully, also original looper only gets 30 points and accidental loopers have to contend with escaping the loop and likely not having a body when they do so so mehalthough if it is possible for me to just make a golem body to inhabit then maybe id consider accidental looper but eh id probably need help constructing it

>>98264750Basic conjuration magic has forcefields which can easily tank multiple gunshots (generally a forcefield should be about as strong as a brick wall) and any combat trained mage will know them. Guns are a danger to mages when caught by surprise and not having time to use their shields, or through massed fire (like a dozen or more riflemen all firing at the same time). One gun is not a threat to a mage, because every mage should know how to make a basic shield and how to make a magic missile (which is like a bullet which can home in on people).>>98265038Shifter's aren't especially immune to bullets or anything, since they cannot cast while fully transformed. That sort of shit is part of why modern shifters aren't doing as well as they used to. Being able to transform into a bear was a bigger deal when magic was rarer and not everyone had guns. If you take damage while transformed you *generally* keep the damage, but it can be weird. If you lose a leg shifted you might come back to a lost leg, or just a mangled one, or missing pieces of flesh elsewhere in your body. Lose a tail and transform back and you might have random injuries or get off scot free. Incidentally being a shifter might sound a bit crap, but you *can* partially transform and retain magic, to gain super-human senses which is very useful. Bird shifters meanwhile get easy access to flight in a setting where that isn't normally a thing.

I (Voidsoul) have already completed mine and will hold this compact, as I think if everything releases at the same time it will be more exciting for the thread. Everyone else who finishes theirs may join the Compact and I will list them when I make this post every thread, if you reply to this saying yours is done.Thank you for your attention.

>>98268535Hey that's me!Surely it's mostly the text that conveys the attitude? imo for cyoa art in general, that the art is good and evocative (in some way) is more important than that the art matches the character exactly as intended, because it's usually fine if the player reinterprets the character slightly based on the art (and different players may do so differently).
Why do CYOA makers insist on making twenty pages of drawbacks and perks, all with almost entirely forgettable effects that do nothing but pad the file in lieu of making actually substantive and interesting choices which make you think about how they synergize with the rest of the build?

>>98270431My recommendation was explicitly patreon for early releases, as being in a niche subculture you need your product to go as far as it can reach. The people who don't want to pay but still want the product will get it anyway, it's primarily an incentive for the people who would be happy to fund the life of someone producing a product they want more of. Eventually I could envision someone bundling an entire Year's worth of work into a collection and then selling that digitally on like Steam, more for exposure than anything else. >>98270482Well, the Beast lords live in the Divine Realm and in theory can only get out by the family clan they made pact with. The only exception being the Fox Lord.If these two statements are true then the Dragon Lord couldn't just appear on his own and yet it was summoned while the Empress was alive.
>>98270511No and no. I am too old to care about this Wodan guy I have read a few times his name without any context beyond he being related in some way to Tok and whatever you thought was "female" is probably you projecting into whatever you think a man should do and say, which is an exhausting and useless way of living.
>>98270540I'm pretty sure old and actually wise people dont type like you do, you're putting on a smartass act and it's readily apparent. You're not that guy who reddit posted that he was smarter than his GF are you?
>>98270523Yeah, but look at the divine dragon section. Every time the dragon was summoned, the empress went into a room alone and refused all contact until the dragon left. In spite of summoning the dragon constantly for every nearby battle, the two were never once seen at the same time. Then consider the other two sections, which are just dragon traits that the empress has, being able to partially shapeshift parts of her body into dragon form and the classic dragonic intimidation aura turned towards making people tell the truth. Every section points to it just being herself.Even the fox thing could hint at why she left. She's not supposed to come and go as she pleases, so when the divine realm found out she had to flee. Also, the fox lord is the only one with the power to descend under her own power, so the dragon empress could have been summoned by someone, and then just... never left. That would also make the fox lord's description true while still leaving the door open for the empress to be the dragon larping as a mortal. Like maybe the cost of summoning the dragon is that they replace you and rule in your stead, and that happened before the empress had any particular fame.

Their utility summons would be good for maintaining supply lines, plowing fields and transporting troops. The War Boars would serve as cavalry, which I intend to use to create the best cavalry army in the world. Lastly the Beast King can be used to break even the most fortified positions, acting as a natural siege breaker. Unlike other Beast Kings, the Boar King can be utilize much more frequent with enough food, which is much easier to use if the territory is thriving enough.Advisors:Yonyon Akumayami - Red Horned HeroineTetsu Okamiyama - The Iron Wolf, Fallen LegendTsuki, Yue & Changong - Three As OneYoku - Golden Beast of Greed>They fill up my weaknesses and complement my strengths. Yonyon is a great tactician and commander, which pairs well with my strategic acumen. She makes the morale of the army unbreakable and is a capable warrior herself. Tetsu is necessary to create a surveillance network to prevent assassinations against me. My personal combat strength is only somewhat good as a warlord, but it is not enough to match the greatest warriors of this world. For Yoku,I need a top tier combatant that can act as a powerhouse bodyguard in a pinch. This will dramatically improve my safety in case of assassinations when combined with my strategic acumen. Last is the Lunar Princesses, which dramatically reduces the cost of summoning spirit beasts. I intent to use the beast clan in my armies extensively, and this effectively allows me to be more prolific in their usage with enough food and resources on hand.

The idea is to use the regular infantry to tie down the enemies' main force while the elite cavalry force can pull devastating charges on their flanks or rear.Rival Shoguns:Ming GuiJin HuangjinAlly:Sum Yung Gai(Hates Ming Gui)>The main rivals are the Land of Fire and Land of Stars early on. Mostly, I'd avoid offensive attacks against the well defended Land of Stars early on, and focus on defending against their incursions on the plains of Land of Earth where my cavalry can be used best. Since Ming Gui have a lot of rivals, her attention will likely be divided against other rivals too.My first target instead would be the wealthier Land of Fire, which has a vast but inexperienced army. Conquering them first will grant us better smiths and weaponry to fuel our wars further. If I'm lucky by the time I'm done with the Land of Fire Sum Yung Gai might've assassinated Ming Gui already, which allows my armies to easily steamroll over. If not I will cooperate with him to storm the city, maybe using the Beast King to bring down their city walls. Anything else after that would probably depend on the situation, but I expect the general strategy to be the same, beat my enemies strategically and tactically until I conquer the entire world.

She gives scientific advancement and she gives super humans in exchange of 2/5 of the experimented army dying. Miko Kyonyu I need someone social enough to make the poblation so faithful they would be subjected to the experiments of Orochi to get stronger and medicine good enough to keep those super soldiers alive after battle. She gives both and herself as a strong fighter. Then she improves part of the poblation into monks. The only problem is she trying to make this a theocracy
>>98270664Your units lose to better units at a roughly 3:1 ratio. A better army will steamroll your occupying force and leave you with subpar trump cards, nevermind the fact that you severely lack the logistical skill to keep an army like that fed and tied into a chain of command. The horde options are almost always a trap because you can't cover their weaknesses and rely on your enemies being incompetent and you bring extremely lucky
>>98270711I have the literal utility boars to pull supplies towards the Frontline, so I have the physical capability to transport them. As the warlord with Strategic Supremacy, I can be considered as the logistics expert, which will allow me to reduce my burden of supply lines the most. Said Strategic Supremacy also pairs well with a larger army because I have more resources to outmaneuver my enemies, rather than just beating them in a pure show of force.

As they are the perfect allies, they dont ask much at all, just to live in my region and that already gives their eternal loyalty.Getting fully conquered with these guys is almost impossible. 4. Lady Lian. Not because of incest. She is easy to manage as long as its not discovered, which shouldnt be. And her powers to detect enemy troops lets you predict battles and detect invasors. My way of fighting is through money, I need to be alive so I must invest in defense and information is key for that. She and the Fox clan make a great pair. Also, stopping assassination attemps against me is nice given I can't fight. With this I have a way to improve low level fighters, a way to make my poblation be willing to sacrifice themselves, a tribe of super warriors and the location of enemies.

>>98270732>As the warlord with Strategic Supremacy, I can be considered as the logistics expert,Wrong, since a different warlord type mentions logistics specifically. You're good at battle strategy.
>>98270889What do you mean anon? Tactical Brilliance is the one that is good at battles. And mind you Tactical Brilliance did not mention logistics in any way(though I can imagine it have a certain amount of skill in logistics). In the view that there is no explicit texts, I make a reasonable assumption that Logistics is more attached/involved to Strategy. Because strategy is the ability to sustain a vision/campaign long term whereas tactics is more involved in winning battles. Thats why Logistics are more the domain of the Supreme Strategist rather than the Brilliant Tactician.

She resolves that problem. And then you get 60% of peasants that were shit fighter transformed into loyal superhumans
>>98271444NTA, but unless your planning on becoming Miko Kyonyus servant that doesn't sound like a good idea... You just gave an extremely ambitious women an army of superhumans zealously loyal to her. Is there a reason why she shouldn't just take the throne from you?

Could it end bad? Yes, like almost all advisors, but knowing from the start her nature and putting resources into it, which is my specialty, it should not be a big problem to use her without abusing it

Whether it's true or imagined, perhaps it'll be helpful?>Cost: -5 pointsOf note:* The cyoa wouldn't need to confirm whether an actual isekai happened, or it's just a character waking up with inspirational memories; the player can decide that themselves. IMO it's classier this way.* Independently of whether it's an actual isekai, the PC's decisions will be informed by your IRL memories which can lead to much more advanced decisionmaking (esp for franchiseslop where you know what event is going to happen when, and how you could affect some crucial events).* Because they inform the PC's decisionmaking, the memories are valuable, and therefore this should cost a bit but not too much.

>>98271574>This is bad>Its confirmed by the author to not be>Idc, ngmiIdk my guy, at this point you must have thought upon reading Miko "Nah, this one is dangerous, she will kill me, I can't fight her" and think everyone will die if they pick her.
>>98271494yeah... there is a middle ground, but having the majority of your army be zeaous cultists loyal to Miko isn't it. You would need a powerful enough counterbalance because at the current point like 70% of your army would be Mika cultists. Which doesn't sound like a problem that can be solved by just throwing money at it.
>>98271597The solution to that is easy. Just become a Miko cultist and found the heavenly temple cult theocracy.
>>98271605well yeah, I agree with that. That's why I specified if your not planning to become Mikas servant. If you become Mikas concubine and worship her as god queen there aren't really any drawbacks to this strategy.
>>98271596The author confirms that you need to be careful to her cult, you have very few resources to counterbalance her. The entire army is being given into her cult, you have money at most that she can just inherit if she outs you anyway.
>>98271597The powerful counterbalance are the other 3 advisors, the power of coins, Ming Gui's alliance and mercenaries hired.Money is in itself a religion. People tend to worship whoever they think its giving them prosperity. If even enemies can aknowledge you are so good with economy the normal people will start to worship the shogun that changed the economy. Also their rank is the lowest, they are the foot soldiers. Their job is to be on the walls defending a big territory, they are spreaded. My point with middle ground is also that there is a point between "okay, I am loyal enough to go through this experiment in exchange of super abilities, the experiment is more likely to leave me alone than not. I was probably going to die if I didn't do this" and "I will eat my own arm if Miko says it jokingly, in fact I will become a monk"A lot of people in the two WW would go through something like this without necesarily being total zealots of something else. Spies would be on her checking on this. If she tries to spend too much time on a happy militia already willing to die for the country they get sent away into another part of the land, for example. Its a "make them happy, but not too happy" kind of deal
>>98271667>make them zealous fanatics eager to die for the cause, without making them too zealously fanatically eager to die for the causeI'm not sure how workable this will be in the long-run.
>>98271665Maybe I explained myself badly. Its not "Miko, make them into total zealots, idc".There is a middle ground where they willingly would go to 40% chance experiment without betraying their shogun. Thats the seeked point.I think even with this misunderstading you overestimate her. She doesnt have the entire army even in this misunderstanding, she would roughtly have 60-70% of it. The rest being better trained fighters. Then we include the advisors, mercenaries and the Fox clan.>you have money at most that she can just inherit if she outs you anyway.Money, by itself, its nothing. Economy needs the money to move in a way that benefits you. At most if we assume the perfect conditions for her to inherit (no civil war), she would be like the rich stupid kid that starts losing the inheritance and now has to fight the other shoguns with a weakened Land.In this context, even within the misunderstanding, I would not lose, but in the worst case scenario of Lian killing me becuase I said "sorry cousin, I will die a virgin" and she takes over, she would lose and die. Its stupidIts something manageable. I control and know when she enters the Land, when she starts her activies. I can put spies on her, take advanatge of her without making her gain too much power. Just because the majority of people in the WW were christians it doesnt mean if the Pope ordered something they would all betray their countries, because there is a middle ground.
>>98271696Taking an enhancent drug (example) with 40% of killing but 60% of making you captain America is something a lot of soldiers would take anyway. The rest would need to be a little more trusting and happier with their country. Miko does that. You dont need total zealots to be subjected to that. Its not a 99.99%.Its a context of War and Conquest where you are the lowest mob that will probably die anyway. Maybe you need a little convincing but not to the point of becoming a total zealot
>>98269797>Nakai's brother betrayed them and started culling his people>He did this to do the forbidden and lay with his own bloodSo... he killed his clan to have a chance to rape his sister? He should have just be a cool onii chan. He should learn from us and Lian
>>98271703That 70% of the army is going to be superhumans, doesn't matter that the other are more trained. But you also picked a horde of Locusts as your army they are not going to go into a suicidal fight against superhumans no matter how much you pay them, especially when they can you the oposition and just loot the payment by their own without risking it. It might work if they only made up 10% of your army, but having the majority of your army made up of zealots loyal to another and the rest being opportunistic bandits isn't the best idea. She doesn't even need to coup you fully, since she is a major part of your administration she can simply sideline you. She already has control of 70% of the military it won't take long for her to take control of the rest. Then its just convincing everyone else that she should also be responsbile for other political decisions and since she has a ton of leverage and charisma she can probably quite easily convince others to accept that. She can slowly whittle away at your power until your only a puppet king and any direct actions done against her can probably spinned to paint you as a Tyrant. Really its a simple idea, don't give a very intelligent, charismatic and ambitious women too much power and especially in a warlord period military power is pretty much equal to legitimacy so of course giving the majority of your power to another is not a good idea.

Literally everything is geared towards killing, so no shortage of bodies, and Advisors shouldn’t care what I do, actually pretty easy. The only real snag is if Zhu Guan goes off the deep end. The plan is to turn the entire continent into an undead wasteland, using the tried and true strategy of raising fallen enemy soldiers once a battle is over. There will be plenty of corpses to use even without that, such as casualties from barbarian raids and Orochi’s ability. Obviously will be slaughtering civilians en masse as well. Chose Land of Fire as my rival as they have a lot of unskilled troops, which my strategy is a perfect counter to, and I don’t really even have an economy for them to manipulate.
