I want to add a third copy of Raigeki and Lightning Storm to my Sky Striker deck, but I can't find a clear way to fit them in and still stay at 40. There is one card I think I can move to the Side Deck (Nibiru), but honestly I want to add a second copy of him almost just as much as the lightning bolts. I used to run 3 Raigekis, 2 Lightning Storms, and 1 Feather Duster. When TT Thrust became more accessible I swapped for 2 Thrust 1 Raigeki, 1 Feather Duster. SS already has Afterburners for a Monster + S/T pop searchable in engine and Thrust can search your 1-of Raigeki or FD. Personally I don’t even use FD anymore because I also use the 3 Radiant Typhoon vision + 1 MST draw engine. I don’t even bother with Lightning Storm anymore and playing 3 would probably be bricky. Just my two cents. I’m not pro or anything but I’ve been playing SS since Magnificient Mavens.

The general answer to that question is how flexible your main and subengines are. If you're running cards that can trivially grab what they need out of the deck (basically 1cc'ing but 2ccs is fine) then you can pretty easily afford to go over 40 cards. slop.dek decks are typically composed of a bunch of 1cc engines mashed into one deck which will go up to 60 cards.

For Sky Striker, 45-50 cards is fine as long as you're not compromising your consistency too much. maybe max on copies of linkage if you aren't already so that you always have a line into ace=zero or camellia (whichever is more convenient for the gamestate).

No. Like the other anon mentioned, it's basically gimping you for no good reason. The win condition sucks because outside of the really bad requirements to start setting it up, you need the duel to go on for a minimum of 10 whole turns, or 11 if you're the turn-2 player. Even in a slower format like Speed Duel, the duel can end in as many as half, and as few as a quarter of that number of turns.

And @ the win condition sucking: It basically requires you to have absolute security in the game's state, where your opponent cannot kill you for 5 of their turns. THEY are able to summon monsters while they work towards that end. By virtue of the fact that your hand size is constantly shrinking and you need to NOT use the skill's effect in order to achieve the win condition, you cannot. If you're in that kind of game state, you can just win the game normally with a skill that isn't total dogwater.

Compare the skill you wrote to a bad skill in Speed Duel. There is no singular thing wrong with what you wrote. Take that shit back to the drawing board because it freaking stinks.

At last night's Locals I managed to place Second! This is great to me, especially since I've only had access to a deck for something like two weeks now! You can absolutely slap a bunch of astericks on my claim to say it's not that impressive, but I still felt myself massively improve from just a few days ago.
I noticed there's both a Locals and Chaos Origin Premiere tournanent coming up on the same night and at the same time. Am I right to assume the Locals isn't actually happening and it's just the Chaos tournament? Gameplay wise the only difference is Chaos has five less minutes per match, but you get a ton more cards and a promo centet card just for signing up and for a slightly higher entry fee, so I don't know why anyone would do Locals instead.

If the owner doesn't want to start a Dragon Duels specific tournament to filter the kids towards that, or isn't sure about running a adults only tournament that 98287060 suggested because advertisment of such a thing could be awkward, I'd recommend speaking to some of the older people there to setup a meetup time when the store isn't busy for you all to duel during.

It would be a huge fuckup. The point in their main combo where you can pivot to Mitsurugi is the search for Magician of Dark Chaos (grabbing Habiki by sending Mirror through Summoned Skull's effect after it was searched and then sent off of Mind Shuffle).
The BLS is searched on your opponent's turn via Mind Shuffle's first effect so you can use its second effect to bounce one of the Mitsurugi rituals or similar high level to summon it for a banish/dodge.
You still want to run 1 copy of each of the RoLaD rituals even if you intend to use the Mitsurugi package (even pure decks only want 1 each). Even with the intent to have the main combo go into Mitsurugi, Habakiri being once per duel means that you'll want the ability to go into the standard RoLaD combo if you've already done its line or were able to search it thanks to Griffoh setting up Mind Shuffle Turn 0.

Because it's a better deal? A single pot of sloth goes for $60, DMoD costs the exact same and gaze is $25-ish. Even assuming you only get $60 in store credit or whatever, you'd only have to spend $25 on the missing card, whereas the other 2 pots would set you back $120. The DMoD package is also bound to increase in price because there's a ton of upcoming decks that can slot in the cards just fine, and sloth so far has been almost strictly a situational side deck card. Remember that we're like 3-6 months behind the OCG, so we can know in advance which cards suck.

That's your call because it's a $60 card and like that other anon said, likely to be Limited like Prosperity. It also only really benefits you if you're going second fwfw-- we've been getting a LOT of strong going-second cards likely, but fuwa + sloth is kind of overkill in my opinion.

If you want to eyeball a price point, this is around what I think you may be wanting to aim for the main deck (yes I know my ordering of the cards is a bit shit). There are likely ways to refine it as I'm not the most familiar, but this is a fusion of Mitsurugi's usage in various topping TCG lists and the OCG lists of RoLaD.
The main pain point is looking to be "Black Chaos". That's the one you want to figure out ways to cut down on the most.
Like, just looking at this OCG list where the actual estimated TCGPlayer price is about $1100 (the 840 is from before a lot of cards were priced)?

~333 of that is Fidraulis. Another $170 is Forbidden Crowns. Another $100 is in the Dominus Sparks. Another $85 is in Fallen and the Virtuous + Ecclessia the Dark Dragon. Dark Magician of Destruction and Gaze of Timeaus is another $100 (some say this is needed, but there's multiple topping RoLaD lists in the OCG that don't have them at all). Of the remaining $300 after all of that is removed...the three copies of "Black Chaos" is about half the price being paid on their own. And we still haven't removed some expensive generics from the list like Phara.
The Magician of Dark Chaos ritual, the BLS, and Griffoh are the other expensive cards of the deck...and getting all needed copies of them is still cheaper than 1 copy of "Black Chaos".

Some versions of this already exist, but I didn't find anything that does all cards properly.

But if you want my own seperate (long) TLDR.
YGO is a game played by 2 people looking to reduce each other's life to 0 in order to win. The gameplay of it has changed over the years to be generally faster but more actions dense turns, often lasting on average 4 turns. The player going first ideally tries to set up the best board they can while the opp tries to stop them via card effects, or to break through their board next turn and try and push lethal through it. Roles flipping each turn.
More decks are comprised of archetype(s) which are a family of cards that reference each other. When building you generally pick 1 or 2 archetypes to focus on and try to make the deck as small as possible for consistency purposes. With 2/3 of your deck being "engine" and 1/3 of it being generics/staples such as handtraps, board breakers, and other techs.
Most archetypes today play like a combo deck in other TCGs. A gets B, B gets C, and C lets you make D kind of stuff. From this other playstyles can emerge like midrange, control/stun, OTK, etc. Only problem is that these lines are pretty muddied at this point because of how unique archetypes are able to operate.

They do, it's a little different now though. Chronicle decks and Legendary X decks are SD products. Chronicles being based on the anime mini series they have and legendary decks being a trio of decks in one box. This is a relatively recent change that started only about a year ago. Type still only release about 2 or 3 a year. This might be strange if you're used to MTG having about 4 SDs every set release.

Your proper play is knowing like 2 small combos and to loop an engage to get free cards and then throwing them at the opponent. Your ability to "play SS" is dependent on your knowledge of the larger game. Being able to effectively utilize your plethora of removal/negate quick plays that you can toolbox for or draw into is going to depend on you knowing or identifying what to hit and when.
The better question to research is "how do you beat X deck" because all SS does is give you a bunch of removal from a loopable searcher and draw.

There's some players who fell for the elitist mindset of "Magic was the first, so all other games should be like it" which mixes with "why would you play any other card game if its just like Magic", but they tend to be the minority compared to the Investors who are entirely operating off of "if more people play, my investment goes up". New to yugi, want to play witchcrafter but i saw new support hasn't come to tcg yet, how can the old cards do against normal nowadays decks?
I only play swordsoul on masterduel so i don't have much experience playing

Local witchcrafterfag; Not very well. It's in a hell of a lot better of a state than it was in 2021/2022 and some people like to downplay some of the really good shit they've gotten over the years, but the current TCG iteration of the deck is one where you need to have very strong gamesense, be able to assess matchups sometimes on-the-fly, and prepare for a non-linear and often times janky combo line depending on your build. Or put more simply, you need to REALLY want to run the deck and have the experience to back that up.

Easiest way to run it is just to crash in an Azamina and Cartesia package, along with Gaze of Timaeus and DMOD so you can turn Diabellstar into Dragoon. Gets you 2 omnis (Ilia Silva and Dragoon) before having to commit to your normal summon.

The archetype's backstory is pretty sad, viso is an orphan who got taken in by the little imp and some other (possibly dead) demon, and they go around the country freeing half-humans and other "freaks" they find enslaved at circuses.

It already got support, new galatea + longdickson, and the onahole makes harp a starter, but without mermaid it's not really that consistent. You're SOL for engines too because moon and feral are also banned.

It topped once, but that was more due to both the skill of its pilot (he correctly handtrapped the opponent who was on maliss, then set up nibiru + druiswurm if he tried anything else) and the opponent pulling a classic "not reading your cards bro", he famously only had to link into accesscode and swing, but he tried to combo despite already having game because his dick was THAT small, and he paid dearly for it (crown cost him the game).

Zenna's also really good starter but getting 4 monsters on the field seems pretty hard.... I was thinking of playing Shining Sarc Orcust so if I'm REALLY fucked I'll just play Zombie Vampire to dump and peak so losing mermaid isn't that much of an issue (although it still hurts) but I wonder if there's a good synergetic spam monsters you can do. Maybe something with Magicians' Souls?

Sort term, it doesn't. Long term, it does.
Extensive scalping will cause the existing players to not be able to get ahold of the product, increasing the likelihood of them dropping the game if things remain persistant.
Turn up production too high, you get left with shittons of unsold product as the scalpers get spooked.
Balance the dial, and you are still under threat of overproduction as scalpers move on and the bigger danger of when they leave of middle managers seeing Line Go Down and breaking shit that causes destruction of the game.
While not overproduction, this can also fuck over LGSes via overstocking. Remember how long Duelists from the Deep stuck around? That sorta shit can outright kill an LGS if they are in a region that doesn't have a really big base, and even some of them can drop games.
