What edition of 40k added the ability to move and then run/advance?
>>982724341st technically had move then reserve move phase if you didn't shoot, 2nd had walk/run in one phase, 3rd had I think what you mean.
>>98272413>Temple of Skulls kino
>>98272434Rogue Trader.
>>982724643rd didn't, unless you had the Fleet special rule. 4th was identical I believe. 5th gave everyone Run but Fleet let you still charge.
>>98273581I see. I'm trying to decide which edition to go back to, but I personally enjoy the movement afforded by advancing. 5th, if I am remembering right, was a lot more dependant on special characters providing special rules to your army compared to 4th for marines. I really liked the chapter trait system in 4th. I wonder how game breaking it would be to use the fifth core rules with 4th/3rd codexes
>>982742075th isn't the best edition, that's probably 4th imo, but 5th is my favourite. It's where my brother and I go for fun, most recently with Dark Eldar vs Orks.
>>98273581Talking about 3rd, I just notice that my 3rd edition Armageddon codex scan is missing pages.I only have a Spanish copy, but I'm looking for the original one in English
>>98275274The issue with 40k in general are generally not the core rules, but the army rules.I mean you could play 7th with 3rd edition codex and you would not find the issues that people remember from 7th
>>98275511This is indeed a fair point.
>>98274207>I personally enjoy the movement afforded by advancing. You can Run in Second Edition. It doubles your movement, but you can shoot. Your unit may not run if there are enemy units within 8". Running was only allowed when it was obvious that the troops involved were so far away from the action that it was safe to hustle flat out rather than advance cautiously, as the soldiers the models represent lack the players' omniscient knowledge of the enemy's presence.
>>98275707>but you can shoot. Can *not* shoot, just like advancing was when they introduced that rule.
I was going through the hoard of 5e plastic lizardmen I have and I noticed these 4 shields were different. What's the story with them? Did they come with a certain kit or were mail order?
>>98277636Those ones are off the push-fit Saurus from the 5E boxed set, they got sold in their own box later on too
I have the saurus from the 5e starter, but did they get an extra sprue of shields when they got their own standalone box?
>>98277722I know I'm in a minority but even at the time I genuinely preferred the lizardmen look to the dinosaurmen they changed them to in the next edition. There's just something way more comprehensibly inhuman about the more directly lizard-y look. Even though they're less dynamic, though decent for that era's plastics. And also lets be real, as the internet taught me certain people were way more into trying to make the updated from 6th ones fuckable. Those are designed in a way a scalie would appreciate. Where as these old guys are very unfuckable lizard monster guys, which I highly appreciate.
>>98270822>BOYLwasnt it canceled this year ?Yes, Foundry are meant to be moving out of the now-rented horse stables and can't host BOYL this yearSo there's a bootleg BOYL instead
>>98217445if you are still around, can I get the RT marines, space orks and space elves you have, please? @TheosMati
>>98272386I painted one of those early scans yesterday. I still can't figure out if I like the gold or not. Thinking to hit the details with a wash.
Did that one anon ever make those space slann? It was a cool idea.
>>98283823Not yet sorry I've been busy with literally everything else, them and the custom retro necron stuff is on the backburner
