What is the best system to play a campaign based in a high school?
>>
>>98273433
GURPS Sex and Pregnancy
>>
>>98273437
(Jokes aside, GURPS Social Engineering)
>>
>>98273433
What kind of highschool game? Urban fantasy? I have been thinking of running a school shooter survival game.

D&D 5e

I think he means more High School of the Dead and less Hatred the Teenage Years. At least I hope.
>>98273544
What are you talking about? High school was dope.
>>
>>98273433
Monsterhearts
>>

Nice, what system?
>>
>>98273433
All of them, have a meta game where you are playing students playing the games
>>
>>98273433
Not playing at high school because that's fucking lame. Why not play a game of tax returns while you're at it.
>>
Actual and unironic answer is Rapture World / Rapture County.
>>
>>98273433
Sounds retarded as shit, so definitely D&D 5e.
>>
>>98273851
>High school was dope.
When i was in high-school I had no friends at the high-school, my oddly friends were the 20 and 30 somethings I played Warhammer with at the GW and D&D group I was in.

Tales from the Loop / Things from the Flood

But seriously, what kind of game you have in mind? Are you a bot? You could easily play CoC or Trail of Cthulhu with teenage characters, and the same is true for a billion other games.
>>
>>98274002
NTA, but Twilight 2000

>>98273851
You don't belong here
>>
HP Lovecraft Prepatory Academy. Remove mythos and horror aspects as necessary.
>>
>>98273433
For a Kim Possible campaign I'd recommend
GURPS
Social Engineering
Social Engineering - Back to School
Action
Martial Arts
High Tech
Meta tech for all the crazy inventions (avoid ultratech, it sucks)

For a Buffy campaign I'd replace Action with Monster Hunters, and wouldn't bother with Meta Tech
>>
Masks? At least, I'm pretty sure it's called Masks. It's a Superhero system specifically focused on teenage superheroes trying to juggle their life and their alias.
>>
>>98273433
Bubblegumshoe is another option.

Teenagers from Outer Space, but either everyone has to be human or you make all the alien types various cliques.
Alternatively, Rapture World.

What the fuck, you guys? Does /tg/ not actually know anything about tabletop RPGs anymore? (Sometimes I feel like I don't even belong here nowadays.)
Look up the games Alma Matter and Super Ninja Highschool.
Alma Matter is a realistic, competitive game about going to highschool. It's actually really fucked up because it includes rules for violence, drugs, sex, and death. The only game I've ever seen where you are rewarded for sexually assaulting your classmates, but it backfires if you get them pregnant... Last time I played it, one of the players seduced their teachers and rigged the system into getting a bunch of A+s.

Super Ninja Highschool is more like an episodic, lighthearted game about being a student at a school where weird, whacky stuff happens all the time. If you want a game where you have to fight robots and catgirls on your way to math class, then this is probably more your speed.

There's also another game that I can't remember what it's called. (I think it's called Sakura Highschool, or something?) That simulates a year in Japanese highschool where you try to navigate the drama of friendships and romance while also still doing well in classes and clubs. If I remember correctly, I didn't like that the game had clocks in it that counted down to bad things happening no matter what you do to avoid them, and you accruing more clocks as the game goes on. So it becomes a game about trying to outpace the various timers by advancing your skills and relationships faster than the game's internal clocks.

This.
Kids on Bikes.
Bubblegum Shoe.
There's likely an anime highschool ttrpg or two.

>Does /tg/ not actually know anything about tabletop RPGs anymore?
It's called apathy. OP is a gooner trying to start a thread about cartoons he wants to fuck, everyone saw through it immediately. OP just made a thread and dipped because he doesn't actually care about getting his question answered, he just hopes someone's going to spam cartoon porn because he got lost on the way to /co/.
>(Sometimes I feel like I don't even belong here nowadays.)
Don't be such a melodramatic fag.

>>98273433
It really depends on what you want I think.
>Normal, Mundane high school
PBTA, FATE, I guess GURPS (GURPS is more of a toolkit than a proper TTRPG, with the right modules it can be just about anything so that's the lazy cop-out answer IMO)
>Anime high school
MAID for your haremslop, OVA or BESM 2e (not 3e, 3e is shit) I guess for otherwise
>Super high school
Prowlers and Paragons is my recommendation, but your supers system of choice.
>Creepy high school
Call of Cthulu
>Supernatural high school
Vampire the Masquarade if you want some secret society shit, otherwise I couldn't say.
>Harry potter high school
I genuinely couldn't tell you with what I'm aware of.

>>98273544
Because you're not a cringe self-insert faggot and you're playing an idealized version of high school as depicted in fiction.
>>
>>98273433
Exalted, as Dragon-Blooded. Fluff any charm effects as purely mental/anime-esque delusion, but it is good for playing hormonal teenagers in a situation while lending enough action movie survivability to get through anything like a school shooter or zombie apocalypse.
>>
>>98273433

Are you aiming to play something like Bully? Because that'd be great. Drama for the chicks, GTA at school for the dudes.

I also liked a show called The House of Anubis, which is about a secret society at school trying to get 7 treasures to achieve immortality.
>>
BESM?
>>
Not gonna lie, a game set in a boarding school where you solve mysteries a la Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys sounds kinda fun.
>>
>>98273433
Violence RPG. At least for American high school.

GURPS: Tactical Shooting
GURPS: High-Tech for the guns.
GURPS: Gun Stats if your gun isn't on the catalog
GURPS: Social Engineering for the high school social dynamics/etc (optional)

>>98277766
>waaah /tg/ doesn't recommend games anymore!

yeah, you're just a retarded faggot
>>
Apparently there is always bullying going on in high schools. Is this true? I didn't see any bullying at mine.
>>
>>98278258
Every group of people will naturally form some sort of power dynamic. Whether you call it bullying depends on how harsh that dynamic becomes and how sensitive is the optic through which you view it.
>>
>>98278258
Bullying can come in many forms, subtle or obvious, it doesn't have to be your cliche "gimme your lunch money or I'll beat you up dweeb" kinda thing. It can also just be as simple as spreading malicious rumors about someone to ruin their reputation. But yes, smaller high schools tend to have it a lot less than inner city schools which are essentially quarantine zones for all the worst kinds of shitkids that have zero empathy for others
>>
>>98278258
In our highschool we never bullied each other but we bullied the fuck out of our "rival" high school. Because they were fucking dweebs. We used to humiliate them in basketball and mathrathons , pick on them when we met them outside, throw rotten fruit at their school and on halloween we used to dress up and vandalize their school with graffiti. The weak should fear the strong. Good times.
>>
>>98278258
The fuck are you doing skulking around a high school old man?
>>
It is not realistic unless you have teenagers passing porn, dirty pictures, fetishizing cartoons, and teaching masturbation techniques to each other.
>>
>>98273433
Panty Explosion. Yes, it is an RPG.
>>
>>98278258

>>98278278

It does make for easy drama plots. Not necessarily bad, just easy.

>>98273544

I mean, man, we all had bad weekend trips, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy Evil Dead.

A lot in mine. It was this town where you had either rich kids whose parents worked as engineers and attorneys, and a mix of trailer trash and ghetto beans. The two HATED one another with a passion and it was rare to find other middle class kids or even richer kids. Christ, it was hard to find rural people that weren't trashy rednecks with national park work looked down upon. It was made worse by the Great Recession killing the local industry resulting in a whole ton of poor kids not having jobs which made them do worse and worse shit as their parents drank their lives away in between shifts at McDonalds.

We also had a sex offender ghetto right next to a goddamn park. Complete dump. Ten years later, most people I knew are now childless (thank God) drug addicts of one variety or another, be it abusing prescriptions or literal meth. I had to move and finally was allowed to build a stable job history, my best friend is now a apart of a Libertarian militia after going off the grid, my ex is a psycho cocktail waitress who makes up stories about every man she's ever been with, the kid everyone picked on blew his brains out with a shotgun, the popular jock just answers a phone at a Car dealership, an alarming amount of skaters wound up in prison for sex crimes, and the hot girls are just trophy wives.

Fuck that place.

Also: the men from my town are fucking weird when it comes to masculinity. No, I'm not being a retarded redditor. These guys have the most absurd attitudes when it comes to certain things:
>Men can't cook. That's women's work. Hence why that one guy nearly burned his trailer down because he didn't know how to heat up a goddamn DiGiorgio pizza with an oven. Or that other guy who burned his hand while making fucking top-ramen. Top-ramen. Because he overfilled the pot with water.
>Only men can drive, never let a woman drive you around. Even when the car isn't yours. So many women got into financial trouble due to their druggie boyfriends totaling their cars.
>Until the age of 25, there was a serious stigma against construction work resulting in the jobs being taken by local felons and illegals as a 'real man needs an office.' Now construction is so poorly paying you might as well stay in a grocery store, and the 'teenager' jobs in Fast Food are almost solely staffed by thirty-year-old drug addicts. I blame the teachers here.
>For the longest time, you had grown ass men refusing to ride the bus if a woman was driving it.
Then with the women, things got even weirder:
>Every girl in a town of around 70,000 dated the same dozen or so guys. I swear to Christ. They'd date, the girl would get extremely fat in the course of a MONTH, then break up. Then men are all evil and where have the good men gone, slim down... Only to date the same guy a year later, not learning a damn thing.
>Absurdly liberal. All men are the devil save for the douchebag she was dating, who just broke up with her friend just to fuck her. Also, all white men are bad but the goddamn Mexican crack gang dealing to kids somehow made the cut? The hell? If you supported Trump in any way, shape, or form, you were deader than disco to them.
There's a reason why I became an alcoholic, drinking so much I damaged my liver. I'm glad I'm out.
>>
>>98283598
That's an incredible microcosm of gen z dating.
>>
>>98283608
No, this is millennial dating. I'm not sure if we were a prototype or what but I want a sociological study done or something because... The most stable people should not be an alcoholic shut in, a political radical whose on a watchlist, an alcoholic beautician, a pothead street sage, and a McSlave who goes to work every day flying higher than a kite. This isn't what life should be like for anyone.
>>
>>98276662
And Jehovah's Witnesses
>>
>>98275498
If you aren’t a bot, give me something else about that last entry. ‘Sakura highschool’ is fucking ungoogleable, but I need to reference the system for my next magical girl campaign. (Balancing an already brutally difficult mundane life with a secret life full of supernatural danger is surprisingly never done.)
>>
>>98273433
D&D 5e Strixhaven
>>
>>98284320
Not for nothing, but it might be worth looking up 'Truth & Justice'.
It uses PDQ, witch is a freeform system like Risus, so your stats are what you are. So you could be [Highschooler +4] [Musician +2] [Waitress +0] [Insomneac -2] and have that be the bulk of your character.
The thing you might like it that you stat your civilian life separate from your powers, and when you take damage you temporarily nerf your stats (you don't have separate health). You could have half your session be school shit they have to pay attention to because they'll get steamrolled if they don't maintain their lives outside monster-hunting.

CthulhuTech.

>The most stable people should not be an alcoholic shut in, a political radical whose on a watchlist, an alcoholic beautician, a pothead street sage, and a McSlave who goes to work every day flying higher than a kite
damn like three of those things describe me
I feel called out

>>98284320
It seems like anyone who actually puts any sort of effort into posting nowadays gets called an AI bot. I don't mean to be melodramatic, but I'm getting to where I don't want to engage with 4chan at all...
I think it's called "Ben Dunn's Ninja Highschool" or something like that? I'll look through my books to see if I can find it.
>>
>>98273557
CtD imo works really well as a coming of age story from childhood to grump.
