You guys look like THIS???
>>98277500hell yea dude, we are nerds!
Is this a shitpost thread?
>>98277493>>How much do you think one's army reflects one's personality and values? Not at all, my main army is genestealer cults which are very commie coded but I'm a legit nazi IRL>grimdark painting styleI love it, whiners are just mad that it gets great effect for low effort and all the time they spent learning to paint the traditional way was wasted on making worse looking models
>>98277500one day..
>>98277493>two nazi editions in a rowdamn, is it nazi week or something?
>>98277500We're way fatter.
fuck ravenguard and salamanders fucking coward chapters. Dont ask me what chapter i paint
>>98277493im not posting because of the swaztikas>no excuses they're being used in one way onlyim filtered, bye
>>98277529what chapter do you paint anon?
>>98277530This fag announcing he's leaving like we care, holy shit if the silly pinwheels are filtering people we should have done it years ago, thanks OP
>>98277530uhm its the KREIGERS edition anon duh
>>98277535you found out about 40k in 2022
>>98277522ITS WHITE BOI SUMMER
>>98277518Is the "grimdark unrecognizable from tabletop viewing" a cope meme and it is really just fine? I'll be honest I'm looking for an equilibrium between the grimdark style and the style of brighter basecoats with some diluted black or brown acrylic wash over it. Mostly because I just want to stick with acrylics.>>98277522It's Sunday. And I couldn't be bothered to fix the OP stuff so I decided to be cheeky. If you want this to be a thing then it wouldn't hurt. The Imperium is a dystopia and cruelest regime so historical bigotries and modern ones are valid alongside fictional in universe ones and belong to ensure the grimdark is there in an "old habits die hard" kind of way.
>>982775401996 actually, first box was 2nd edition plastic termagants, they were only $5 back then before all the price hikes and inflation. That whole army was stolen years later when I left it at a friends house and he got taken by CPS because his mom was a nutjob.
>>98277534i dont wanna talk about it man
>>98277545>Is the "grimdark unrecognizable from tabletop viewing" a cope meme and it is really just fine?Depends on the exact execution. Not all grimdark style paintjobs are created equal.
>>98277548>I-I totally started in 2ndit's always the same story with you larpers
>>98277548>$5 back then for some plastic 40k termagants>first google result says now that's 10.61 dollars todayI regret being born in 1999. >t. zuumur
>>98277545>The Imperium is a dystopia and cruelest regime so historical bigotries and modern ones are valid alongside fictional in universe ones and belong to ensure the grimdark is there in an "old habits die hard" kind of way.Jesus, dude, just admit you like larping as a nazi.
>>98277557No anon it is legitimately just me every single time. I am one of the only 2 or 3 oldfags who frequents these threads and I have been telling the truth every fucking time. I've been playing 40k since 2nd edition and I've been frequently on /40kg/ since around 2012 or so. And I've blown you the absolute fuck out on every grog argument posting screenshots from old books multiple times and you seethe and cope and cry "LARP" every time but I legitimately just fucking mog you in terms of hobby knowledge and always have.
>>98277556>Not all grimdark style paintjobs are created equal.I understand that some grimdark style paintjobs are more equal than others.Which one is the most equal grimdark style for you?Does there exist a grimdark paintjob style that meets the middle ground between being recognized from tabletop viewing distances like grimdark haters say it doesn't while still having that grimdark style look?
>>98277493>Krieg fans: Noooo we're not heckin' nazis they're FRENCH THEY'RE FRENCH>Also Krieg fans:
>>98277570the larp never stops
>>98277561>Jesus, dude, just admit you like larping as a nazi.Since I was a kid I always loved the idea of playing the bad guys so my friends can be the heroes they want to be. So if context permits and it won't harm me then yeah I would like the be "larping as a nazi." It's why I have some WGA Damned chaos guard on the way. So I can play as the most evil (I think) 40k faction so friends can be the Imperium heroes they want to be.There's nothing wrong with it.
>>98277588The jury may be out on who's the least evil faction of 40k, but I think the most evil faction is pretty settled
>>98277548>>98277570The price mention gave me some belief that you're a 40k grog. What's the biggest modern misinterpretation or false info about grog era 40k stuff that you hate the most? Can you attach book and page number citation to dispel the myth in case I remember and stumble on the argument and want to win an internet argument of the warhammer 40k kind to boost my ego?
>>98277599>The price mention gave me some belief that you're a 40k grog.anybody can google what a kit cost in x year40k is one of the most documented nerd hobbies out there
>>98275404Here is my June collage submission
>>98277578you forgot to attach the gigachad image.
>>98277607You have to be over 18 to use this site.
>>98277581Whatever helps you cope, nigger. I've been here since long before you and will be here after you are long gone. I've made multiple posts that were screenshotted by other anons and are still occasionally posted to this day, I've had my models in White Dwarf, I've posted some of the leaks that were real, I've watched other thread regulars come and go, I was here for the 60 multimeltas meltdown and the knees vs vents meltdown and the dark angels aren't gay meltdown and the original carnac dubbing. Also met Genestealer Cult Breeder IRL and fucked her brains out, yeah she was actuslly a real girl and not a troon.
>>98277597Guess we'll have to agree to disagree then.I want to make my future WGA Damned army's lore that they believe in the chaos gods and are enlightening/liberating the citizens of the Imperium.Haven't picked a chaos god yet or decided if I want them to be undivided. As for most evil, I think it is a coin toss between "good intentioned" worshippers of chaos or evils factions that relish in being evil like the Night Lords. I think the Dark Eldar kind of do their thing more so for survival in staving off Slaanesh getting to vore their souls. A lot of evil leaders were insane and their insanity made them believe they're actions would lead to a noble goal. At least the Devil (I think) is sincere in his evil intentions.Like Night Lords.
>>98277614trying too hard
>>98277599>What's the biggest modern misinterpretation or false info about grog era 40k stuff that you hate the mostGoblin green bases and green flock of 2nd edition being SOVL. Artists and creators hated it but it was mandated by corpo suits because it photographed better. Andy Chambers and/or Jervis Johnson and/or Gav Thorpe have all commented on this even in recent videos, check the usual youtube interviewer guys like Filmdeg and Jordan Sorcery.
>>98277602>40k is one of the most documented nerd hobbies out thereUp there with Star Wars? I'm not too sure really as there are loads of internet arguments about grog info and myths about it still being spread around. The little sisters of purification homebrew page is still held up as canon stuff to this day. If 40k had star wars levels of documentation then there wouldn't be so much false information about the oldhammer era.
>>98277597Drukhari are the same kind of evil as Tyranids, they do what they must to survive. Chaos is the only faction that does horrible shit solely for the sake of being horrible (except for the Imperium, who also does horrible shit for the sake of being horrible lmao)
>>98277621I know you won't believe me but it's 100% all true, that's the most amusing part.
>>98277633I hope you're genuinely the kind of pathological liar who genuinely believes his own bullshit, that would be a little less pathetic than this larp
>TQ: How much do you think one's army reflects one's personality and values?I don't think it does at all. Ive been playing since 4th and most players I know play multiple armies at this point, maybe 20 years ago when they bought their first armies it said something about them but as it stands now I just don't see it.
>>98277628>Up there with Star Wars?closeyou can find release dates and pricing for almost every single model ever released, and recordings or transcripts of nearly every interview with every old GW employee out there
First Claw. I haven't made Talos yet.
>>98277639No I'm genuinely just having fun posting the absolute truth and watching you react with such skepticism it's honestly much funnier this way.
>>98277628Star wars is consuming media and not a hobby though.
>>98277626What other hobby folklore of the oldhammer era is passed about as lies? I couldn't find the video of it but I'll believe you there. I know that Krieg helmets were supposed to be pickelhaubes because the audiobook of the Krieg novel by Steve Lyons had a part where launches squiggs got impaled on the helmet. So it is pretty easy to believe they were meant to have the pickelhaube spike. But I guess someone up at GW changed that.
>>98277493What a stupid TQ. I'm here to play with plastic toy soldiers not for a morality class, i like big red spikey chad that worship violence and fight toe to toe with other good aligned superhumans giant bugs or mad green psychos just with one axe as companion because is cool not because i will worship a daemonic god and let flood my suppressed rage beheading citizens on the streets. Is a game, and people who don't understand that are a problem.
>>98277650ntayour play pretend session isn't believable in the slightestfeel free to turn schizo and insist I'm a samefag
>>98277646Best and most trustworthy archival source for this kind of info? I know of stuff of legends for oldhammer stuff but it's been a while since I've been there. And Miniset isn't really focused solely on 40k so some misinfo might slip through.>>98277652Fair enough. I was just naming it off the top of my head. >>98277648Very nice work anon! Are you trying to go for a kind of basing similar to the terrain of the moon if the surface of it counts as terrain? That was my first thought. And I think it contrasts well with the NL paintjob.
someone still enjoys star wars? damn...
>>98277652Wrong, there are several tabletops for it and also the cosplay hobbying and more recently the autists who've documented and turned the saber fighting forms into an actual fencing alternative
>>98277659>What other hobby folklore of the oldhammer era is passed about as lies?I'm trying to think of some, usually its lore that got distorted more than hobby stuff.Maybe the size of Titans, originally they were like 40-50 meters tall but some of the later art to come out in the 90s like the famous Lucius Pattern Warlord make them look literally miles tall and that was never originally the case.
>>98277667Why is it so hard for you to believe someone in their 60s posts on the site? Ive been playing since the start of 4th and nobody accuses me of larping.
>>98277669star wars is easy to enjoy when you don't listen to disney in your ear telling you what is and isn't canon
>>98277667I don't actually care man, because *I* know it's true so again it makes it way funnier for me.
>>98277570How old is the average person roaming this place? 20s? 30s?
>>98277679Im 39.
>>98277675>60sNot quite that old, I started very young in 2nd, was just a kid.
>>98277679These days I have no idea, we obviously got a lot of new blood in 8th and again in 10th so I'd guess mid-20s for most of them but there's clearly a few other oldfags like me at least once in awhile
>>98277679I know for a fact 40-50 years old boomer faggots can be found here.
three more Exodites kits left...
>>98277685We also have honest to god GW employees here sometimes. I'm not one of them but I can promise you from certain leaks that happened and certain discussions we got a direct insider.
Let Chaos Idols take this thread!
>>98277571>Does there exist a grimdark paintjob style that meets the middle ground between being recognized from tabletop viewing distances like grimdark haters say it doesn't while still having that grimdark style look?Yeah, you can find some in Blanchitsu articles in White Dwarf over the years.
>>98277629>they do what they must to surviveExodites and Craftworlders are proof that this is not the case. The Deldar continue to be BDSM murder freaks because they want to, because they find it pleasurable, and because they believe that's what being a "true Eldar" is about. If you offer an individual Deldar the opportunity to go live like a peasant on a maiden world and never needing to feed off suffering again, they'd probably just laugh and kill you.
>>98277687so stupidi will never take pictures if i have a game against exodites it will just look embarassing like i am playing against an 8 year old
>>98277669Star Wars in the 2000's was peak. I still have fond memories of playing battlefront 2 on the ps2 at my friend's house. Just thinking about it makes me want to pick up picrel for the nostalgia.I refuse to watch any of the sequels though.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIj7gIDFDe4
>>98277700dinosaurs are Warhammer, anon
>>98277702I didnt really like any of the movies, but I did like the clone wars and Kotor.
>>9827768540-50 is Gen X not Boomer
>>98277699on average, yes, but there are Deldar who become craftworlders, ynnari, or (presumably) exodites.
How hyped are we for this?
>>98277702Peak and Shits Wars can't be used on the same phrase, the three first movies are the only ok thing about the whole franchise.
>>98277700Yes much sillier than the armies of cartoonish daemons with their silly sassy nurglings and primaris gokarts and nerf gun missile guys.
>>98277669I enjoy a lot of the EU stuff. Some stuff I like from Disney like the mudtrooper designs. I can't really think of much. I'm not gonna act like EU had no stinkers. I don't know of any particular examples, but I know they exist.>>98277679I remember using this site at 19.I'm 27 now. >>98277664>Is a game, and people who don't understand that are a problem.I was being cheeky when I made this thread. The reality is that people in real life at the LGS are very chill and civil and polite. Spergs are actually more rare than social media makes them seem to be. It kind of inspires me to be better and prepare myself better and not to be the combo breaker who ends up being a sperg. But then again I haven't been to the LGS on tournament days. >>98277685What frustrates me is that there is a lot of old man hate. Personally I'm all for old man wisdom. Especially when older ones tell me of their failures so I hopefully don't repeat their mistakes. >>98277698>Blanchitsu in White Dwarf>Over the yearsHow far back do I have to go for those? Any particular White Dwarf mags you remember with the tutorials?I do ponder whether a work can be blanchitsu without the zorn palette Blanche always used.
>>98277710extremely. I've wanted Exodites for ages, and even Beast Snaggas are on my "shit, maybe" list. So I get dinos for my Eldar and the start of my next project in one box.Depending on the price, I might buy three.
>>98277705Imagine banging a harem of skinks on that howdah. >>98277710I'll pick up exodites when they're in a combat patrol or combat force or something for the full exodite release. I dont care for them now. granted ill be in my 30s when that shit happens.
>>98277705this looks alright it's dino tech it all adds upthose exodite models looks like someone slapped a turret on top of a museum souvenirthey actual one they made for the dragon knight looks a little better and more alien so hopefully the bigger ones will>>98277713it actually is.
>>98277710The overall box idk, I don't really want the snaggerz. I like the squighogs but not the ones on foot. GW could have at least given the orks an upgrade sprue or maybe put some terrain in the box or something. If Exodites get another unit though I'll start collecting some.
>>98277710'ate squiggers, but I'll tolerate them if it means exodites
>>98277711I enjoyed Mandalorian though?
>>98277700Considering how much of the Primaris line looks like fisher price toys, I sure hope you aren't a marinefag. Because, if you are, pot meet kettle.
>>98277715>How far back do I have to go for those? Any particular White Dwarf mags you remember with the tutorials? They're scattered all over, you might be better off looking up a list of blanchitsu articles on lexicanum or something and then hunting down the magazine scans. I probably have them somewhere but I cant dig anything out right now, I'm phoneposting.
>>98277723wait you mean the 30 year old Epic models? You felt the need to point out they look a bit silly?Yeah man, Epic models looked a bit silly
>>98277687I need the exodite stegadon like I need air to fucking breathe man. The fantasy liggers never appealed to me like the exodites do for some reason. I don't even usually like elves but exodites are cool as shit
>>98277710i will never not find these ridiculous. on pair with nasapunk destiny dwarfs.
>>98277734i have no idea what you are talking about nowwhen did i bring these up?
>>98277731I agree that primaris looks like tonka toys but they were not the first, the centurion (ranged or melee varients) also look like shit. The weapons in their chest that don't have enough depth to realistically depicted a workigmng machine are just atrocious.
>>98277711>t. never watched 2003 clone warshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p_ugTFfpO4
>>98277687I hope they do something different than laser lances for the pteradon because it would feel kind of redundant if the whole army was doing the same thing from the backs of different dinos.
>>98277741>AnimationYawn
now THIS is warhammer
I like orks :D>>98277493>Thread Question: How much do you think one's army reflects one's personality and values?eh, maybe if they have a specific reason they like the army, but I think its too little information to go off of. one reason I like orks so much is their really flashy fashion sense, and I do often dress in very bright colors with weird patterns irl.
>>98277741The cartoon was bad, the cgi starting in season was was kino.
>>98277744He deserves to become a god
>>98277710I want to own three sets of Exodites, but I will wait for the individual release.
>>98277710Good models but just a KT is a major disappointment
When are Necrons getting Pariahs back while GW is on this nostalgia kick resurrecting old dead units like Exodites, is what I wanna know
>>98277743>live action slop enjoyerYUCK!
>>98277747idk if it is my monitor or the art but the blue in this is BLUE it's fucking with my eyes
>>98277699>Dark Eldar don't actually need to do 120 Days of Sodom stuff to surviveI like them more now because there is no gray morality being done over this then.Seriously I don't like sympathetic villains or villains with tragic backgrounds that makes them sympathetic.Just give me objective evil so I can play the bad guy factions so my buddies can play as the hero factions. >true eldarAs in Eldar before Slaanesh's birth? I like to imagine the Dark Eldar are "toned down" a bit from what their pre-fall ancestors were like because they lost a lot of worlds therefore lost a lot of means to do what they really want to do.>>98277729NTA butI enjoyed it too.I did particularly love the concept art of the remnant Stormtroopers. Probably one of the best things (in my opinion I hold as fact) out of Disney canon if they aren't based off EU stuff.I want to replicate that for Imperial Guard and Chaos guard. The WGA Damned somewhat have that because their armor is mostly scraps. The real difficulty is the Imperial Guard as Anvil bits are not gonna be enough and then there is VictoriaMiniatures going for the new proportions. I'm pretty sure the plastic Krieg are more closer to the old heroic scale proportions than the new Cadians are. I don't know how to break through scale autism.Has the 40k community come up with a term to differentiate the new Cadian heroic scale versus the metal Cadian era scale? Something like "classic scale?" I don't know. >>98277733Fair enough. >PhonepostingI understand. Phones can be a hassle sometimes. But then again I haven't moved from my iphone 6s because I don't know what phone to get. I am planning on using swisstransfer to evacuate my files and STLs off my phone as I hate iCloud. I would like a new phone that takes good quality pictures so I can take pics of actually decent resin aftermarket stuff into an AI to archive them as STLs and hopefully fix the moudlines and resin bubbles in Blender.
Dark Eldar refresh is coming. I can feel it.
>>98277702I bought that box and it's pretty good>>98277734Oh hey I own that mini
>>98277755Corsairs started as a kill team too, and got more stuff later. Be patient. People have been saying for awhile that GW is unironically running out of stuff to redo and release so they're bound to do more Exodites as well as stuff like Dark Mech
>>98277757If Henry Cavil's Warhammer 40k project isn't changed into high fidelity animation then I will not like it. I love animation from stop motion to 3D to 2d. And hentai. Warhammer 40k is just too over the top to be anything but a graphical 3D animation series. I don't know how Star Wars pulled it off. 3D animation allows for a lot of weird things to just be rolled with because the animation lets something in the monkey brain to know that non of this is real just enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moDRNC2xTao
Do you guys think GW planning a Scouring expansion for HH with mark 7 marines and new plastic castaferrum is a real thing or just wishlisting? They started a scouring book series already right?
I think I'd like legion imperialis a lot if it was any era but 30k
>>98277699>Exodites and Craftworlders are proof that this is not the case. Not really, exodites are constantly at risk of attack and Craftworlders have to send specialized troops to collect spirit stones. The dark eldar way is the most feasible way to survive in the circumstances they find themselves in
>>98277759>I like to imagine the Dark Eldar are "toned down" a bit from what their pre-fall ancestorsI think it's the opposite. In terms of grandeur, you're probably right, but their tastes have likely only grown more depraved in the 10,000 or so years they've been squatting in the webway.
>>98277773It will be a while before that. The Nostalgia baiting for classic Mk7 already has begun with GW making jury rigged power armor canon. I wonder if the Space Wolves grey hunters and Blood Claws were a test round and I wonder if anybody noticed their potential of being jury rigged marines. I mentioned a bit of this speculation with "nihilus pattern" space marine armor being there because supply line issues. So I probably wasted a wish for the future or it was a coincidence.>>98277780They probably kept it in HH mostly to keep things simple in the marine versus marine with guard sprinkled in.>howeverI believe GW is scared of 6mm scale overtaking Warhammer 40k in sales and popularity so they kept it in Horus Heresy to keep things "safe" for the mainline game. I can't prove it.
>>98277493Why did GW not put all the options for the Characters and such in the Armageddon box? Why do i have to buy a new Warboss to get a Powerklaw on him? I fucking hate this company i swear to god.Guess this warboss is going to sit on my shelf forever
>>98277780James could have made a fucking killing with an actual Epic 40k reboot. They fucked us.If the rumours of "Battlefleet Gothic but Horus Heresy" are true I might commit a fucking crime.
>>98277771Star wars pulled it off because of great practical effects and set design. Now it's all cgi hastily slopped out to meet deadlines. Also, a lot of sci fi at the time was focused on making things feel "real", and lived in. Like things are futuristic for sure, but they're also rusty and dusty and kind of shitty, rather than everything looking factory fresh. A good example is the ship from Alien. Side note, I would kill for some of the models they used. Would love to use it as terrain...
>>98277790Anon GW isn't going to come kick down your door if you just... chop off his arm and give him one with a powerklaw
>>98277787Maybe you're more right than me. Losing the empire probably made a lot of Dark Eldar survivors more vicious as they vented their frustrations on the helpless and themselves. Grandeur lost most likely as they lost many worlds. I like to imagine their palaces were genuinely beautiful to look at then the pre-fall eldar mostly splattered the interiors with gore and other sexual fluids in their acts of depravity. Thus giving the palace exteriors a scarier appearance because you know what's going down behind closed doors.
>>98277798This still forces me to buy a new Warboss, so i mightaswell just make a new one.
>>98277773It will be a specialty game that replaces Ligma
>>98277710Not in the slightest. Theres like 10 kits i'd rather see in Killteam first.Alpha Legion legionaries, blood angels termies, catachan vets, melee CSM termies, 2nd harlequin infantry, DE infantry, 2nd deathwatch infantry kit, arameddon ork hunters, ork 'ard boyz.
>>98277793>Also, a lot of sci fi at the time was focused on making things feel "real", and lived in.That might be what made Star Wars pulled off. Along with your practical set design and effects mentions.I think that skill has been lost but I hope somehow the knowledge to make these sorts of things still lives even if 3D printing has rendered a lot obsolete. I think the "what a piece of junk" line Luke said when seeing the Millennium Falcon was great worldbuilding somehow. The audience may look at it like a technological marvel, but the "reality" in Star Wars is that it is a piece of junk.>ship from AlienThat's good too. I do love H.R. Giger's style and art pieces too.
>>98277738Ok, what models did you mean when you said they "look embarrassing like I am playing against an 8 year old"?I thought you meant the new Exodite models, but then you said "they actual one they made for the dragon knight looks a little better" so I assumed you meant the old Epic Exodite models looked embarrassing. But now you're saying that's not what you were talking about, so what the fuck were you talking about?
>>98277798NTA but GW would want to if you put a single third party resin bit in your third party army.
>>98277814>4 fucking space marine kits
>>98277710Should have just sold them separately. Theyd be sold out day 1.
>>98277755for over a year the rumor has been a Kill Team first, then a larger expansion like Corsairs and Kroot got
>>98277823I could have named 12 marine/csm kits and theyd all sell better than your retarded xenos killteams
>>98277793>Star wars pulled it off because of great practical effects and set designAre we going to try and pretend like the prequels weren't full of sloppy CGI? Go rewatch the entire droid factory sequence from Clones again.
>>98277814Armageddon Ork Hunters and Catachans could be one kit with extra options or an upgrade sprue.
>>98277832This isn't actually true. Marine sales arent nearly as over represented as you think. Marines make up a plurality of players, not even a majority. They are like 40% of the playerbase, and that's by combining like fucking 10 different subfactions together meaning each of them makes up like 4% of 40k players.
>>98277798>>98277807Also i would like to add that the power klaw goes ON THE OTHER ARM

>>98277834The parts everyone agrees were shit?
>>98277840I think the data is even harder to characterize than that because you get a situation where 40% of the playerbase are "marine players" but some 60% probably have some kind of marines in their collection.

>>98277888
Maiden Worlds should have more alien lifeforms
>>98277871True but most of that is because marines are in EVERY starter set and half the other vs boxes so people aren't necessarily buying them by choice. In the end with the rough numbers we have I think its realistic to say that, on average, a given marine kit will sell about twice as much as a given xenos kit. That's not all xenos, mind you, but a single xenos faction. So Blood Angels probably sell around twice as much as Orks, or, Space Wolves around twice as much as Tau, etc. That's not nothing, but it's not nearly as over exaggerated as some people pretend who will claim things like Marines sell 10x as much as all xenos combined. Also from these rough numbers, other Imperial factions sell roughly the same as Marines when you break it down into sub factions again. So a given Imperial Guard kit might sell literally as much as a given Dark Angels kit.
>>98277864>Also I don't think we will get pteradon since GW seems to be removing fliersDidn't they just make a new landspeeder
>>98277871I mean all the starter sets are with marines. One of them was marine vs marine.Want to buy a new guy for xenos? Whoops its trapped with some marines. Want some Blackstone characters? Random marine there too! Oh look your main army character. Yep it has marines in it too!
>>98277895Also marines have the issue that even models for other marines can be used by other marines.Worst case scenario it need some cutting and extra bits. Most of the time a paintjob is enough.Meanwhile unless you are playing GSC or Orks the amount of shit from other armies that overlap with a random non marine army are miniscule.
There are now multiple Chinese armies in gws wings and white scars still do not have a single worthy update.

Need to do some GS and gapfill on everyone yet, and basing of course.I thought the Banner Nob was going to be my favorite in the set, and I do like him a lot, but the Warboss really wowed me while assembling and doing a bit of custom work, and even more surprising I actually quite like how the Weirdboy comes together, though it doesn't change that duplicates will be painfully obvious.
Went and kitbashed my second Dakkarig a bit, changed the pilot up a bit and rearranged some bits here and there just to differentiate it.

Also a US movie maker company vs UK mini models one. CCP has people censor foreign films I don't think they have foreign minitures censorers. Very very different mediums, different art forms, different levels of interest from the Chinese people. I promise you if you showed a CCP offical a mongol themed space marine they wouldn't care/ think its neat because cool little models are cool even to people not interested in the hobby. People like statues
Having daemon primachs actually lead their cult legions and massive armies was a mistake. They shoud be sad, sort of pathetic beings that exist in ancient dungeons or places that was important to them in life. Shadows of their former selves and slaves to the gods, their excistence meant to mock the Emperor and not be great generals or the main leaders for each god. Fulgrim should be in some ancient huge temple on Istvaan V standing at the spot where he slew Ferrus Manus

>>98278075>They shoud be sad, sort of pathetic beingsThey mostly are. Angron has almost no thoughts left, just the nails and is a missile that Khorne launches into realspace to bring slaughter to his enemies.Mortation has been suffering from "notice me, daddy!" syndrome for 10,000 years because Typhus has always been Nurgle's favorite.Magnus, for all his magical prowess, knows that he's on Tzeench's short leash. He's fully aware that everything he has is a pittance of what Tzeench could give him and he has to play good little lapdog to keep getting those scraps.Fulgrim is so demented these days he can't focus on anything and could quite possibly be the most powerful of the primarchs, but he gets bored easily and will wander off from battlefields if things don't go his way. Either to sulk that he lost or to whine that it was too easy and he's bored.Perty has tuned his turbo autism into full model trail boomer mode. But instead of trains he obsessively builds daemon engines.
>>98278107That's UK boomers self censoring to prevent any outrage by chinese consumers, not the CCP government giving GW a list of do's and don'ts. Very different things

Your opponent either built a list capable of reliably taking down whole knights every turn and you get tabled halfway through the game, or they didn't and you do the same to them. >>98279972>the navy>the lex>the traders>the assassins>small and easy to press gangHow fucking dumb can you be?
>>98279769>>updating Intercessors that are from 8th editionIntercessors aren't getting updated.>>updating fucking Outriders from 9thOutriders were monopose.
They ride like 60 year old men on Harleys, but the bikes have a lower profile, so idk they just look like kids on toys.
>>98279977>I think they're fine for what they are, just a little underwhelmingNTA, they're obviously not outright bad models on the level of some other primaris slop like the suppressors and the invader ATV that are getting squatted. They're decent. It's just that literally nobody asked for a brand new 9th edition kit to be redone a mere 6 years later. Most of the kits that have been replaced over the last decade were updating models that were 20-25 years old, who the fuck needs a new kit for a unit that JUST came out during COVID?
>>98279977Oh i agree and it seems unnecessary if they are replacing a 9th edition sculpt, i just assume that most of the negative replies are either people who don't collect marines (unlikely) or posters who don't even have an army (likely)
>>98279985>because it's the go fast EditionThe releases of an edition are never themed, don't listen to the ramblings of the fat fuck unless he's relaying an actual rumor, his speculations and pattern seeking are trash and gw never actually sticks to patterns anyway.
So does that mean we are due for another calgar model?
>>98279972>>Ecclesiarchy (Sisters)The Sisters are the favoured ground troopers of the Ordo Hereticus though
>>98280003At this point all bets are off. Until recently I would have said you wont see updates to 5th ed models but now GW has fully tapped the well of updating 3rd/4th ed era stuff and has moved up to apparently updating models from as recently as 9th. I mean they released fucking Exodites they are absolutely running out of stuff to update and ideas. Could be anything next.
>>98279953It's Orks. If you want it to glow hot then make it glow hot.I won't be, I'll probably just add some druki violet to the end to give some muzzle burn or something.
Dark Eldar refresh soon
If we at least don't get mad dok grotsnik this edition im going to be FURIOUS
>>98279953>someone here with gun knowledge said it wasn't really possible for something like that to glow hotYeah dude I'm sure anonymous poster #3957346 is a real expert on fucking GREEN FUNGUS ALIEN SPACE GUNS ON A JET-POWERED SPACE MOTORCYCLE
>>98280021Damn anon have you become so demoralised that you can't even be bothered to type out the rest of your ritual post?
>>98280023>named character slopYuck. Unless the model is really good, then I'm okay with it, but a generic Mad Dok would be better.
>>98280031Well I'm not a burger so I'm definitely not going to argue with them over that subject
Are there any Space Marine chapters besides Space Wolves with a Cerulean color scheme?
>>98280038He's been in the game for decades up until recently, he isn't exactly "named character slop"
>>98280021It'll come this edition, unless they're saving them for 12th ed starter because they're out of ideas. In fact at this point the 12th ed starter set enemy half basically has to be either Dark Eldar or Dark Mechanicum. Since Amragedd9n was a nostalgiabait throwback to the 2e starter set maybe they're planning 12th edition to be a throwback to he 3e starter set with DE.
>>98280044All named characters are named character slop, anon.
>>98280039As a burger I can confirm we are experts on green fungus alien space guns, area 51 is part of the great US of A after all
>>98280031a gun is a gun, doesn’t matter if its shot by an animal, fungus, plant hybrid or not it still won’t glow.
>>98280023Sorry, orks are going to be irrelevant in 3 months when we go back to Abaddon and Vashtorr's wacky hijinks and then Perturabo's reveal at the end of the edition because Primarchs sellThen in 12e we'll get the Tau as punching bags for a month or so before starting up the Chaos cycle again.
>>9828005112th ed starter set will be space marines vs world eaters or thousand sons
>>98280042/yourdudes/?
Primarchs are the real named character slop, not a bunch of fuckin orks
I think the Minotaurs are cool and Moloc should get a model that's not made of r*sin.
Kind of based if Iron Warriors get the first Undivided Daemon Primarch ngl. I hate Loyalist Primarchs being brought back but the giant mutant Daemon ones don't bother me for some reason. I don't even play Chaos.
>>98280074>thousand sons>most of their half is new tzaangor units
>>98280092Erm actually it's impossible to be Chaos Undivided or Chaos Undecided as I like to call them
>>98280092>Undividedheh, about that....
>>98280092GW knows that if the Word Bearers got a proper bespoke release and Daemon Lorgar it'd make Abaddon and the Black Legion look like a joke.
>>98280074>box full of power armourWouldn't be surprised desu, its what the fans want
>>98280074World Eaters JUST got their berserker update what the fuck would they even put in the box? Launch sets always replace old Troops. Plus I don't think GW even likes doing power armour vs power armour boxes these days outside of Horus Heresy where that's the whole point.
>>98280102ADB is a faggot and no one cares what he thinks
>>98280119You're right I was hedging my bets like a coward when I said world eaters, allow me to rephraseThe 12th edition launch box will be space marines vs thousand sons
>>98280051Realistically they're going to split it up over two are three editions just like they did for the Eldar Aspects. Five or six kits an edition plus a few kill teams is much more reasonable than replacing 20 kits at once.
>>98280070Guns can glow though?
>>98279988Use your imagination >Inquisitor flies over on Navis/RT ship with his entourage, takes control of ship and crew. Total number of crew of a single ship is limited and not all Navis ships are present >Inquisitor takes control of Arbites station with his entourage. Lex is spread across many planets and their forces aren't proper military so easier to control>Inquisitor requires the services of a single Assassin who can either be press ganged by his superior numbers or favours called in with the Officio Versus>Trying to take control of a literal Astartes army of superhumans against their will who are all right there present as a Chapter
>>98280123less of a faggot than abnett at least
>>98280129That one is actually possible but I still think it's a slim chance. Most likely it's Dark Eldar, unless we see them get a big update before that. Second most likely is the launch of Dark Mechanicum. Third most likely would be Traitor Guard or Lost and the Damned or whatever GW ends up calling them.
>"interactive" battle map for a global campaign >the Defenders will yield ground whether they win or loseLame
>>98280013Their goals often overlap but Inquisition only have nominal control where approved by the Ecclesiarchy or if they can bully them into itSimilar to how Techmarines supposedly have dual loyalty to Mars and their chapter, but their chapter loyalty usually comes first
neutral-marines will be ammenable to reasonable requests, for more that inq better have some dirt either on them or on the target to warrant bigger response
>>98280099>box set contains tzaangors with boltguns, and big shoulderpadsfinally…
>Imperial Marines get their second bikes refresh>meanwhile CSM bikers are still on their kit from 2nd edition
There are guard players so cucked that are genuinely happy that Primaris marines are saving their city in the big event.
>>98280144The barrels aren't exposed on this model unfortunately, guess i could just have a glow effect coming through the vents instead
>>98280170No one is saying this
>Marines bow to Custards (it's MA'AM)Lmao, nulore is so fucking lame. Everybody knows Marines can do whatever they want as long as they have big enough guns
>>98280145That's not imagination, that's blatant lore rape or ignorance of how every action of that kind would have drastic ramifications. They are all connected to extremely powerful organisations or families deeply entrenched in the imperial hierarchy, when inquisitors get support from them it's not because they "press gang" them, it's because they request help and are granted help, usually in exchange of some other favour.
>>98280170Primaris players are paying for my Hippos, Centaurs and Krieg plastic refresh
>>98280166just glue some spikes onto the imperial bikers
>>98280170reminder: imperial guard fans are deeply submissive to strong male authority figures.
>>98280166>Marines getting new Landspeeders and Outriders>Orks getting new Wartrakk and Bikers>Eldar getting Exodite Dragon KnightsThis is clearly the fast attack edition, new CSM bikers soon trust the plan.
>>98280144I don’t know anything about guns so I don’t know whether that’s true or not, I’m just saying that it being wielded by a big green alien doesn’t necessarily change the basic functions of the gun
>>98280177NTA but you're retarded. Naval men-at-arms are press-ganged low-life thugs to begin with, not people connected to noble houses. The ships captain might have such a pedigree, but not his thousands of retards in diving helmets with shotguns that the Inquisitor can borrow a few squads from.Your entire post seems to give off a complete ignorance of the level of authority an Inquisitor wields. If they flash the rosette you fucking do what they say or very bad things happen to you. They aren't on the level of bargaining for favors that other organizations are.The ONLY people to have ever said 'fuck off' to Inquisitors and gotten away with it are First Founding Space Marine Chapters. Even other Space Marine Chapters get raped to death by the Inquisition if they fuck around too much (Celestial Lions).
>>98280074We'll see in like a year who the "early codexes" of 11th are because they won't pick a back-half army to also be in the starter box of 12th. So depending on if WE/TS get early rollout one might be more likely than the other.
>>98280155Dark eldar I think are too niche to warrant being in a launch box, but fortunately I think they'll get some new stuff much sooner than that. Dark mech/traitor guard/lost & the damned maybe. But my bets are still on thousand sons.
>>98280186We also know from rumors that Dark Eldar are getting a bunch of new flying boats this edition too. So the pattern holds.
>>98280119WE are missing a ton of models
>>98280166>>98280183>>98280186My concern is that the monkey's paw will curl and instead of modernized biker dudes that look like someone from Full Throttle crashed into a mall ninja store, we get some daemon engine redesign that's just a blob of bullshit.
>>98279953Any gun can glow if you put enough rounds through it fast enough, which coincidentally is how the orks use them. The only way to avoid this is to have assfuckloads of active cooling when you could just... not shoot 1000 rounds in 60 seconds? The main problem with the Dakkarig having glowing barrels is that you can hardly see the barrels themselves, the whole thing is covered in a barrel shroud that will heat up way later than the barrels themselves (this is part of the point of a barrel shroud, to put some room between the hot barrels and the terrain/hand they're resting on).>>98280186Are we getting the SoB cavalry from the last thread?
>>98280209You'll get a named Living Saint from the Order of Our Martyred Lady riding a horse that they took from the Bretonnia range
>>98280175The cuntstodes in the animation postured as being in charge and giving orders, but didn't actually have the authority to command marines or enforce the order. The chapter master gave up on his oath on the planet's defence because he chose to listen to reason instead of sticking to senseless duty.In an ideal follow-up of the animation we would be seeing the chapter receiving flak from imperial authorities and bureaucracy for abandoning their planet, because that would come to them regardless of the word of the custodians, who have no real administrative powers. The grimdark twist would be them getting pushed to go renegade, but that's too predictable, so a suicidal crusade into the tyranid swarm would be a more fitting end.
>>98280173I have guard players telling me that they’d rather let space marines take the spotlight than lose city. Guard players got to be the most cucked fanbase in this entire game.
RAVENWING REFRESH WHEN
>>98280225anon and all the guard players he speaks to
>>98280195>Naval men-at-armsare property of the navy, who is the most powerful branch of the imperial military.inquisitors cannot just waltz anywhere and amass armies with the flick of a wrist, a lot of imperial infrastructure, including other inquisitors, exist to stop someone from being able to centralise power like that
Hmmm tonight I will play warhammer forty thousand
>>98280225I really hope armageddon falls completely, it's had enough wars, it's expended all possible narratives and is only retreading on the same shit.do they want to keep yarrick alive? fuck it, alright do they want to keep the steel legion a thing? cadia fell and cadians are still up, so clearly nobody caresbut the planet really needs to fucking fall to the orks for good and turned into the attack planet, it's the only thing that makes sense
>>98280233Are you a guard player anon? Are you happy that marines are winning while your faction is being used to prop them up? Be honest?
>>98280198I don't think traitor guard/lost and damned has a big enough fanbase to hack it out in a starter box either. Dark Mech is a possibility but I think that's more likely to be the "new army" of 11th which is still unaccounted for. Thousand Sons seems the most likely candidate to me, if only to cash in on the Space Marine popularity.
>*solos your nid army*nothing personnel, kid...
>>98280252Traitor Guard are Kill Team slopDark Mech is IW cultist equivalent
>>98280255Isn't this guy dogshit at killing anything that isn't T3 chaff?
The thought that GW will let Armageddon fall to the Orks is laughable.
>>98280255It's alright, he's cool in my book, he can get a pass.
>>98280217I would be okay with that
>>98280252>I don't think traitor guard/lost and damned has a big enough fanbaseIt's pretty big. I've seen more Traitor guard players than GSC players tbf
>>98280264God forbid anything interesting happen in the lore.
>>98280279Well, GSC is pretty much the rarest faction to actually see played on tabletop so that's not saying much.
>Imperium has a million worlds>every narrative event and critical battle takes place in the same 10 systems
>>98280245>armageddon falls>orks get an official homebase, and in the segmentum solar no less>fenris and elysia cut off from terra>sol system is now capable of being actively under siege>guilliman has to weigh up whether he wants to abandon his 500 worlds project, or go to help retake armageddon/save terra>other factions are able to take advantage of the disorder and now raid even more inside the segmentum, and some even sneak past the orks in order to raid the sol systemwould be too kino, which is why the most orks are allowed to do is take over a hive city in it.
>>98280255Only Phoenix Lord who's apparently an awful teacher, because Dark Reapers don't fight anything like him.

Because the interviews all boil down to>we looked at the old stuff, lots of material (covert advertisement)>It was hard (what was? Either they don't tell or it's just "how to make it look good?")>Omg the thing we're making is so cool (and here is how we are attached to it)Rant aside: GW is both out of talent and concerned with investor/shareholder retardation, rather than making a fun, quality product.
>>98280404They are getting a new kit, the orks got beakies on their boss poles and bases. It's just gonna be ass. My prediction is that it's gonna try and nostalgiawank the tactical squad content.

>>98280427For all its faults I do like that the sculptors are willing to take more risks with AoS. Or are you just a disingenuous twat looking for an excuse to disregard the opinions of people who don't agree with you?Apart from the occasional troll raid from some other general, which are extremely easy to spot - and no (You) can't fucking spot them apparently since you accuse everyone of being that - no one is getting mad about a game they don't fucking play to begin with. No one comes in here to talk about how the new models suck when they don't buy 40k models. People who get pissed enough to voice their opinions are the ones who wanted something good and were let down and disappointed.
>>98280929I agree with the general notion, but there are several proonters, mostly from eastern europe, who come here just to shit on new things
>>98280335That's still happening. People think if GW isn't releasing new lore on an event like that every week that it's forgotten because they're newfags who weren't around to watch the lore slowly progress over decades. There is massive real-world time lag between events in 40k continuing that only last a few weeks in universe. The entire 3rd Tyrannic War was like one year long but it took around 20 years for all that lore to come out. The 4th Tyrannic War just fucking started.

>>98280264>The thought that GW will let Cadia fall to the Abaddon is laughable
>>98281028>They will always outconsume youon an individual level yes, but not on a macro level. There are far fewer compfags than normlfags. A company which things everything is fine when all they have left is competative players is just circling the drain. It's a deathspiral where your tournament attendence goes up and seems to suggest growth, but in reality you're players are just becoming increasingly condensed, shops are dropping support for your product, and tournaments are becoming the only way for the competative players still hanging on to play. You can see this by comparing the pokemon tcg and yugioh. Yugioh is propped up near exclusively by compfags right now and the company is becoming increasingly more desperate to draw in new fans or old nostalgic fans because the compfags are going to finally break and leave or die of diabetus eventually and there won't be anyone left. Meanwhile pokemon appeals to collectors and casual players and sees success on both fronts. As you said, competative players consume no matter what. They'll buy any product as soon as it's released. That means you don't need to appeal to them, you can actually work directly against their interests and wants. They'll bitch loudly about it sure, but they'll still consume product because it's necessary for competative play. Any company should treat competative players as if they don't exist and aim to please the casuals and/or collectors. Balance changes should be focused on making the game fun to play rather than fair to play, and prevent unfun strategies, rulesharking, and other such poor sportsmanship rather than forcing the community to self-police homebrew rules. Make being "that guy" as hard as possible within the game's ruleset.
>>98281460Orks are secondary antagonists. Armageddon is Angron's prize, not Ghaz's.
>>98281206You joke, but the reality is that the GW points are based on the GW abilities and the GW rules. They might not have done a great job balancing it but they did A job. If there's an ambiguous rule, and you and your table read it differently than GW meant it, that could have real balance implications.Units can't move through friendlies? Nerf for horde armies. Units can move through enemies? Buff for fast-movers. Units can move through any space regardless of physical size? Buff for large models. Maybe these are good ideas for balance, but if so it's pure coincidence. It's practically no different from adding house rules by throwing darts at a board. This is why clear rules are needed. Even if people aren't trying to be rules lawyer WAACfags, ambiguous rules mean that they have to play that role sometimes, and they can and will accidentally fuck something up because random nerds in a basement aren't game designers just because they're playing Spacewar 39,999. And since Warhammer is complicated, it needs a lot more than just a few precisely-worded rules.
>>98281461compfags buy way more than collectors. how many points of models do you think a casual player buys per year? 250?500?1000? compfags will buy multiple armies per year to follow the meta.
>>98281462What?Armaggeddon is literally the most important world on the galaxy for the orks. They've tried to conquer it for 10,000 years.Angron's is the actual tourist here, he's attracted to the bloodshed but he doesn't care about the planet unlike the orks.
>>98281476This is the unfortunate truth. Compfags have bough into the churn, while collectors pick and choose from an increasingly meager plate. Whales buy everything anyway, so they don't have to be specifically catered to.

>>98281462>Orks are secondary antagonists.right up until they suddenly aren't
>>98281476Every company with two brain cells in the management team knows that compfags aren't a playerbase, they're an emergent property. Popular games always have a competitive scene, even if it sucks for competitive play. Unpopular games never have a competitive scene, even if they're perfect for it. Every player starts as a casual, and a few of them become dedicated enough to become compfags, and nobody likes them after that happens, and that's why the health of the scene is more based on the masses of low-to-mid-investment casuals who draw in friends and strangers than it is on the opinions of five compfags who spend most of their time finding ways to Jew each other and everyone around them. We've seen this hundreds of times by now.
>>98281462Orks have been the primary antagonist of Space Marines for longer than Chaos Space Marines have existed

>>98281418>are you telling me that deep striking a bunch of zoanthropes in a tyrannocyte isn't going to pan out for me?It's not the worst possible idea. >>98281517>the opinions of five compfags who spend most of their time finding ways to Jew each other and everyone around them.amigo, the quarterly balance updates are based on the tournament results of like a thousand people globally. and the only way to properly play the game is to use the app that is updated based on that data
NEWBREADWHEN?
>>98281478>>98281524I like orks :D as much as the next guy, but realistically, GW loves to shill CSM to the detriment of anything else, so having it be more fitting for orks to win armageddon is meaningless when GW has intentionally shoved chaos into where they don’t belong like in the pariah nexus.

>>98281576Yeah, casuals want the game to be balanced too, they just aren't obsessive about it like compfags are, and compfags are stress-testing the existing rules for free anyways. Doesn't mean that pandering to compfags is, or should be, what GW does.
>>98281426It's like one of the only good things about modern 40k
>>98281357>and is pretty fluff-mindedUnfortunately in 7th that's only half of the equation. The edition is so unbalanced that a fluff minded player making an armylist by only taking what seems cool Vs an opponent that does the exact same has a non ignorable chance of ending up in a complete curbstomp. The only way to have decent, relatively balanced games in 7th is either being very lucky in choices or being extremely knowledgeable of what things are broken and what are not and min max the balance by deliberately avoiding the strong things in a strong army and taking the most powerful things in a bad army.
>>98281476>compfags will buy multiple armies per year to follow the meta.A very large majority of those are from the secondary market however. I have friends that are deep in competitive AoS. You have armies that changed like ten owners in a decade.
>>98281655Tbh I don't think 7th was quite this grim excluding outliers like Craftworld Eldar, it was definitely imbalanced but the clearly OP things were kind of obvious. Yes Tyranids sucked shit and Marines could be made busted but the busted things about Marine sn were like spamming specific weapons (grav) and formations that gave you free shit or ridiculous buffs. I remember watching a battle report online of a fluffy Tyranid list (not flyrant spam) in 7th taking on Tau that was running a Stormsurge and shit and Tyranids won.
>>98281626>>98281634no youtube decided to reccomend it to me whilst looking up fantasy stuff, so not even the right warhammer
>>98281682>taking on Tau that was running a Stormsurge and shit and Tyranids won.I am not saying that wasn't impossible. I am saying that unless you knew what you were doing the chances of the game exploding were too goddamm high. Even shit like the Marine player taking a Librarian and rolling very well on the psychic tables (even excluding the truly busted things like invisibility) while the Tyranid player rolled very badly could shift the game tremendously.
