After a hiatus to accumulate something to talk about, /Quar/ makes it's return.
We've got Cadier Cavalry kits for Crusaders and Coftyrans during the end of the last thread's lifespan, the WGA newsletter has been promoting Quar with an article explaining what the fuck a Cadier is; https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/what-is-a-cadier?
Tldr; it's a lanky ornery hammer-head guinea-pig, with a bony cast, which becomes irate at the sound of engines, and you can ride it.
And my Strange Plastic 3d printed Krassyl arrived.
Print and delivery took about a month from CA to UK, standard international shipping was 20 dollar, or about 16 bongbucks to me; the Krassyl is a heavy piece and the wheels and most of the body besides the underslung box are solid, I've laid it out on the left, there was but a small amount of roughness on a couple surfaces, and a few tiny vestigal support nubs, which were simple to deal with, and I am pleased with the kit; also included was three options for crew bodies; on the right is a trio of crew on foot, who also came with little 3d printed versions of WGA bases.

Also kicking my arse into gear to assemble my last game's photos for batrep.

Assembled Krassyl with alternate angles, also a Fynrydhad scout tractor to compare scale, which is about as tall as a Primaris Space Marine itself.

If you look quite closely you can see the concerned expression on the face of the Tankette driver.

Is there a timeline available anywhere? Or multiples? After looking at some of the lore, there's a lot of shit to track and call up through text

Well the old Rhyfler's Pocketbook from the first wave starter box (https://www.rhyfler.com/files/ClashOfRhyflesQuickStart.pdf) has the following section on the first page;
"It seems the Quar have always been at war. When the first wandering
clans of insect gatherers built their low, mud-walled buildings, it was as
much to keep out other Quar as the wild animals. As they first learned to
make tools to get food, they quickly learned to make weapons to defend
themselves. The mud walls quickly became fortified citadels, and then
city-states. In five thousand years of civilization, the only constants of
their culture have been the changing of the seasons, the month of storms,
and the threat of war."

The current timeframe is post 1781, Alykinder is dead, and from the earlier Tractor design dates listed in the big hardback book, like the Creevish Mogyn (Also viewable on the Website I believe) We can also impute that the Quar have been using internal combustion engines, or perhaps steam powered cars before that, for just over a century, as the Mogyn entered service in 1677.

Besides that, the only other major figure we have in history is Ehn'k'du The Victorious, Lawgiver, Master of Tumult, who is pretty much the Quar equivalent of Hammurabi, and likely lived somewhere in the region of three to four thousand years before present day, presuming a broadly comparable timeline to the equivalent human figure

Oh and heavier than air flight is more recent, but dirigible and airship use has been established long enough that Alykinder himself was born into an established family of Airship builders.

Welp, somebody shot the dispatch and his papers are probably halfway to Kryst by now, so the after-action report came through late and garbled.

To cut to the chase, as near as we can surmise, elements of the the Bostad no.3 Rhyfle Brigade, fresh from its recent victory over the Coftyrans took an FOD foot patrol by storm, in a quick but savage firefight that ended in a shower of grenades and a bayonet charge and captured the infamous Yawdril Shawp, wounding and scattering his patrol, he has been taken alive to a secure location for questioning on FOD movements in the local area.

I thought Strange Plastic had a UK site?

So did I!
But whatever, I decided to eat the shipping fee to sample the product anyway.

Very minor surface "step" patterning visible on the rounded planes, but it's still better than my mate's home 3d prints.

I've settled into playing Crusaders for my hone games since everybody wants to play Royalists.

This Krassyl will be the "Dragon" of my narrative campaign, since it's gonna be a while before there's much on the field to directly challenge it.

The Fynrydhad duo from the Fidwog kit can plink at it, but it's got a proper AT gun and can koolaid-man through terrain with it's "Scout vehicle" rule, but it's turret only fires in a 90 degree forward arc, whereas the fynrydhad has no scout vehicle property, but can adjust facing at the start and end of move with agile, and has a true turret; playing two Fynrydhads against a pre-crippled Krassyl being fixed up by the roadside (special event card - if the engineer is in base contact with the Krassyl when this card is drawn, the repairs are complete) would be a fun game.

I would rule the scenario to allow tankers to dismount and remount , so I can make use of my crew and foot doubles.

I think the first game is set 10 years before the current one and that one is 10 years after the Crusades started. Anyway, a timeline would be a nice tool to help visualize how things unfolded
