How did you handle water/ship rules?
>>98287235I'm very disappointed in this art, that woman was made for the male gaze.
>>98287241There are two nigs. I was hoping that would make up for it.
>>98287241What about the female gaze? Insinuating that only men can appreciate sexy women is very homophobic of you, chuddy
>>98287289>Insinuating that only men can appreciate sexy women is very homophobic of you, chuddyDon't you remember Mike Mearls, chud? He said the hobby was infested with old white men. We know who's making this filthy, filthy art.
>>98287241Assuming that's supposed to be Bêlit from the Conan the Barbarian books, that's a very conservative depiction of her outfit. She goes around nude in her story.
>>98287296A Frenchman, apparently.
Is Great Weapon Fighting really THAT bad?Reddit and other forums seem to consider it trash, but... Imagine wielding a greatsword at level 3 and knowing your damage can never be lower than 9 if you hit. Sounds pretty awesome.
>>98287635It takes your average damage with the weapon dice on a greatsword from 7 to 8, which yeah isn't awful, but it doesn't really compete with +1 AC or 1d10+prof damage reduction as a reaction.
>>98287673Playing a ranger with GWF and seeing how absolutely dogshit the level 20 feature is makes me just want to take a level of fighter for Defense and more weapon masteries at some point>no more spell slots or prepared spells>no more favored enemy charges>just a fucking d10 hunter's mark
>>98287758>Level 20 rangerFoolish of you.
Why do you level up so fucking fast in this game? Most people don't play past 5 or 6 sessions anyway, and most of the modules are retarded milestone bullshit anyway. So why does the XP system that nobody uses make you level up way too fuckin fast. Not to mention, this system is so pussified that you have to have encounter above the characters level to be an actual challenge, so it's even fewer encounters per level-up. As a result it's like you level up every other session, which is cool if you're a low-effort söykike who wants to be able to get to level 20 with the once a month he can take off from watching his wife's son, but if you're a normal person it kinda sucks to end up there so fast by default. As opposed to older editions where reaching high level required actual dedication.
>>98287844touristanon, most people level up insanely slowly unless they're playing AL content which actually does have challenging fights designed into it
>>98287844everything about the game is broken and bad, progression is just another one on the list>why this why thatBECAUSE THIS GAME IS AWFUL THATS WHYIT FUNDAMENTAL DOESNT WORK AS "OH THIS IS FUN" OUT OF THE BOXITS ONLY USED AS A BASELINE CHASSIS
>>98287844>So why does the XP system that nobody uses make you level up way too fuckin fastYou never played with XP
>>98287844>Most people don't play past 5 or 6 sessions anyway,....huh? Ten at bare minimum.
>>98287873Most people stop at 5 or 6 because they realize DnD 5e fucking sucks for either,>Actually playingor,>Reenacting the Epicness of [That Podcast you Listen to.]Five sessions in is exactly the sweet spot for realizing you've seen everything the system has to offer.
What's a good level 4 spell for range damage (single target)? Power word rend? Got polymorph for utility and fireball for aoe. Blight would be good but campaign has a lot of necrotic resistant stuff. Anything lower level that can be upcast to more damage in this sort of use?
>>98287882Just upcast magic missile or scorching ray
>>98287876No games
>>98287902What evidence could I offer you of my games that you would accept?
>>98287920>anon does know not the proof that we require, as they are the legendary 'nogames'
So, is there some sort of cardinal rule against messing with dice?I'd like to have some kind of enemy that is fundamentally WRONG within the bounds of existence mess with the players' dice.>Ask every player to give me a die>No, not roll one.>Give me, the GM, one of your die>They cannot roll that die while fighting this abomination, at all. The rules of reality are screaming in protest.>But, depending which die they gave gives them a boon or bane>a paltry d4 would reduce all dice rolls by 3, so a d20 would roll anywhere between a -2 and 17>a d20 would, conversely, increase all rolls by 3, so their d12 would roll 4 to 15>Extrapolated through d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20I think it'd be an interesting final dungeon encounter that could also make for a rare little mini-boss within this quest about portals to different realms. But would it also take them out of the game? Lift the curtain, as it were, or feel unfair?
>>98287920you could play a game
>>98287882>Blight would be good but campaign has a lot of necrotic resistant stuff.*laughs in Death Domain*
ARRR the high seas!
>>98287635>>98287673I made an attempt to fix gwf style and savage attacker
>>98287943I'm not sure I understand. If a player can't use a particular die number at all, it's fairly easy for them to give up a die that they aren't liable to need, many characters could easily give up the d12. If they're just giving up the one particular die, I don't see that affecting anyone who owns more than one die of each type. This sounds more like a mechanic for dice pool games like WoD or Arkham Horror.
>>98288007whyd you make GWF and Savage almost the exact same?
>>98287943>gives you a d20>rolls one or two of the other 10 d20s I have with me
>>98288035I assume he meant any roll requiring that type of die would automatically fail
>>98288018The idea is that it's a surprise the first time, then play around it the second time and feel like they got BEEG BRIANS.And then a similar enemy that is noticeably different turns the boons/banes backwards, so giving a d20 is now super crippling.>>98288018>>98288035Yeah, >>98288037 gets it. I should have clarified 'type' of die. It makes sense someone could try to game the system in a game.
>>98287882Phantasmal killer has 120ft range.
TIAMAT HAS SEX WITH BAHAMUT
>>98288216Built for BPC
>>98288024He can't answer you, his players all have greatswords and are from savage backgrounds so they are still rerolling their fucking d6s (6d6 each roll, in three separate buckets of course). (unless it's an object; then it's only 4d6)
>>98288216FFXIV goes harder on that, all of the dragons in the world are the descendants of a single dragon, Midgardsormr, who carried his seven eggs across the sea of stars from their doomed, destroyed world. So the siblings paired off, with Hraesvelgr, Nidhogg, and Ratatoskr founding the Dravanian Horde in northern Eorzea, and Hraesvelgr's love with an Elezen named Shiva forging a short-lived peace with their people. Azdaja carried her brother Vrtra's egg to the place that would become Thavnair, but was lost while fighting voidsent through a rift to the Void. Bahamut and Tiamat went to Meracydia, where they bred their own horde, but fell to battle against the onslaught of the Allagan Empire, who killed Bahamut and tricked Tiamat in her grief into summoning a Primal replica of him, which they used as the power core surrounded by constantly tortured, imprisoned dragons of the artificial moon Dalamud.
>>98288313Hmmm, yes, unsolicited weebfaggotry, how absolutely fucking fascinating and relevant to either this thread or even this board.
