I play over 100 games a day for 2 years now and I think I hate chess. I can't climb up my elo, I can't help it, I want to attack, I want to sacrifice everything and move the game, I often play something just to see what is going to happen even though I know it's not the best movie, I want to hear an answer from my opponent. I think i've been playing it wrong this entire time. It's a game of memorization and just doing what is "correct" and "best", those people stomp me to the ground. My victories are occasional, always on top of my opponents blunders, my defeats are pure stupidity on my part. I'm a mental person and chess drains my energy, my concentration, I hate losing in chess more so than with anything else, I hate that I can't undo the stupid shit that I always do, I'm afraid it's melting my mind.

Basically White allows Black to equalize easily, and if Black is good enough to not get checkmated in 3 moves, then White is the one with more chances to fall into traps after that (if Black plays aggressively and White keeps trying to push for mate, there are chances to trap the White queen.) But fundamentally, GMs have no trouble using it to basically play for a draw as White. That's not ambitious, but people sometimes talk like it's losing for White or something when it's just not.It also suffers from being the most "come on, learn a real opening" of all openings. Because if they don't fall for the checkmate trap, the Wayward Queen is just equal and I think kind of drawish.If you want a serious attempt to win, play anything good. Classical Chess has to be the most unfun spectator sport in existence. Watching two guys stare at a board for 30+ minutes per move, watching them get up, sit down, commentators talking about absolutely nothing, it's horrible. Post-game analysis is fun to watch, though.

Been getting a lot of chess vids in my feed recently. I haven't played chess in years and never online or with an elo. I was ok I guess, but I have nothing to compare against other than some family members. However reading the comments in these videos and seeing some other videos of like 400-900 elo play really makes me think I should give it a go because holy shit they hurt my sanity.
