Hello again friends. Welcome back. Let's start things off with a discussion. What is one of your favorite jumps and why?

It's tough to choose a favorite I know. I really like DC Occult. It has a lot of neat abilities and it gives you a chance to pick up a human death the endless. She isn't terribly useful but she is cute and nice. Ironically I never waifu her. I always take her as a mom. It's sad but having a good mother for me is actually a fantasy.

Another world another place to ply my trade as a wandering fry cook. This one I get to be a chef though my fries and krabbypatties are still a spectacular draw.
It was a fun decade meeting new people. Hearing tales of other worlds. Sharing recopies with new people. It was fun.

One I’ve been thinking about recently is Out of Cruel Space. The magic is powerful and versatile, the magitech is good enough to build a galaxy spanning setting out of, the races are pretty much freeform, and I have a plan for what to do in the jump that I like.
>>
>>98314377
Sounds very cool Why not post a build here some time. It might be nice to see more people post builds.

I'm tempted to adapt the first part of the Spirit Bomb into a cultivation technique but I can't help but think anyone tapping into the ambient qi of the entire universe would get ganked instantly.
>>
>>98315018
I know nothing about Xanxia or Cultivation. However have you ever considered starting on a smaller scale like gathering the qi of a field or a forest. Slowly moving up and maybe waiting for really big stuff for worlds that are not Xanxia so you can spirit bomb away without being bothered. As Qi is just life energy every universe that you can visit should have it to a degree. I would say drawing a lot of life energy in to yourself and slowly getting it accustomed to holding that much energy might actually be a useful form of Cultivation. Careful not to explode yourself though.
>>
>>98315043
It's a reasonable take that qi can be found in any setting, but other setting won't be rich in ambient qi the way high power xianxia settings are. I'm going to need to go to a xianxia to get started on cultivation to begin with, and doing this there would give context to the stunt I'm pulling. Another world would only see the result and there's less roundabout ways to just be really fucking strong, for example the free power level you get from GT while picking up the perk for the Spirit Bomb.
>>
>>98315075
Ah but there is a place with what I can only call super qi that isn't Xanxia. The problem is people who go there usually blow up. D&D has the positive material plane. That place is like Qi that's been doing PCP and Crack. Usually kills people who wind up there. However if you go there for a short time to cultivate you could acclimate yourself to it over several little trips then you could just take as much Qi as you want. It's an all you can eat buffet of Qi
>>
>>98315108
>You ate WHAT?
>>
>>98315115
Hey there is nothing wrong with eating a plane of existence. I don't have a problem, you have a problem. I can stop any time I want.

The idea is I wind up captured and get bodyswapped with a pirate, and left in a cell in their base on a feudal world. Needing to adjust to a new body and escape isn’t easy, but it helps that several of the pirates have taken a liking to me.
>>
>>98315746
That sounds neat, like the makings of a cool story.
>>
>>98315789
The idea is I and my new friends escape, and they start teaching me how to use Axiom. High Functioning is the Axiom super talent perk, so I’d get good with it very fast and start fighting the pirates, and with Ruler to Be and Basic Uplifting Package I can then unite the world and start building it back up into a more advanced and prosperous place.

I wonder if Jumper's dyson sphere (Onyx mark 2) from the Forerunner saga jump would be the ultimate club house in a setting like mass effect. roughly 255 quadrillion km2 of habitable area that wraps around the interior surface of the sphere.

Hey Generic, if you're around could you tell me how much backing the weaknesses granting BP have in the Vampire Counts jump?

I usually get rid of vampire weaknesses with Baron Jumper and/or a perk that gets rid of racial weaknesses, but due to them giving BP in the builder I'm wondering if drawback priority would stop those from working.
>>
>>98315018
It would work, but you'll need to be compatible with their Ki. There's a reason Ki transference is a technique that has to be learned, you can't just eat another dude's Ki. Otherwise you end up like all those Android prototypes that never got numbers.
>>
>>98315018
Can't be much different from setting up a qi gathering array formation thing that sects usually do, right?
>>
>>98321408
I just treat ki and qi as interchangeable, and incorporating external qi into yourself is the basic of the basics of cultivation.
>>98324786
Those are, AFAIK, limited to particular area. I'd imagine that sects in general are prone to think that the ambient qi in their territory belongs to them and won't appreciate someone trying to skim off the top, and if they discovered someone was capable of tapping into the entire universe they'd make sure to kill him before he grows too powerful. Even interrogating him for his secret is out of the question since other sects would view a sect capable of such a feat even more gravely than some rando doing it.
>>
>>98321024
No fiat backing at all. You're just designing your particular strain of vampirism. You can use perks/training/etc to get rid of them just like any other race.

I'm fastidious about this kind of stuff. If they were meant to override perks, they'd be in the drawbacks section.

So last jump I wound up with gods clamoring for my food. This jump it was literally everyone. By the way Yukari during this jump ran up a huge tab and forgot to pay. She stiffed me. I got to enjoy the fun of a few incidences. Mostly though everyone showed up after them for food. I was convinced by Suika to learn how to brew Saki so I learned how to do it fairly well. She was pleased. All in all it was nice, need to remember to return to get my money out of Yukari.

>>
>>98333168
I feel kind of bad for asking this. It seems like abusing a loophole but would the wicked God Dreadroot be usable. It's not great or even good but when it actually works it would be awesome. Until they play fissure and I actually cry.
>>
>>98333211
The Wicked Dreadroot apparently DOES appear in an OP and a ED. So it would be valid, however this would be an ordinary card, because it being special is a different continuity.
>>
>>98333231
No, I wasn't expecting it to be special which is why I described crying when it fell victim to a fissure spell card. Eh it's tempting. I'll probably build something around it for a stand alone or side build.
>>
>>98333244
Just making its status as clear as possible.
>>
>>98333257
Much appreciated. No, I understand my Boss Monster isn't Special or even very good but The Wicked Dreadroot is a cool monster and I think worthy of using, At least in a side chain or stand alone build.

(Weee I know next to nothing about this world)

There was some nostalgia here returning to a cyberpunk world. I had started as a hacker in VA-11 Hall-A. This time though I ran my Restaurants. I didn't know what was going on here. There wound up being some social upheaval. I just used my Reality Manipulation and Boundary Manipulation to keep things calm around my restaurant and offer my costumers a safe haven from the outside world. It turned out that was much appreciated. I got some drone workers in this world to help move stuff about all in all it was a nice decade.
>>
My jimmies aren't rustled, believe me. But is it usual to go to jumps of stuff without having watched it? Unless you're mega OP, how would I know my build survives?
>>
>>98337643
For normal people it's advisable to if not watch a property you are jumping to, to research and look through summaries so you have at least some idea of what is going on. I didn't do that in my latest build because frankly my jumper realized it was a cyber punk world. Assumed the computer that ran everything was evil and decided fuck I'll just run my restaurant and give some people a nice night and a break from their lives.
>>
>>98337643
I would at least take a brief look at anything I jump to. Most (pretty much all) jumps I go to are of things I know, because I can't write things I don't know.
>>
>>98337643
There is no right or wrong, only the will to power.
>>
>>98337660
I should add... yeah I didn't really do due dillagence on my build. It was a suggestion and one I kind of hit upon late. I looked at either I could steamroll the setting and make everything perfect which really doesn't suit my jumper or I could just have them fuck off and cook. Fuck off and cook won. I kind of view my jumper looking at her over powered abilities as a mistake. After all if you can do anything without effort, how can anything be of true value?
>>
>>98337643
why would you even want to, the entire reason why jumping into a setting is fun is because you're familiar with the setting
>>
>>98339142
to be fair sometimes I like to take suggestions on jumps to take. It sometimes directs me to jumps I would have not thought of taking and I once in a while find some hidden gems. Usually I even do a bit of research so I know what's going on.
>>
>>98337643
>>98339142
What I really like to do is create a "Generic" version of the setting and jump into that. For example, if I were jumping into Dragon Ball Z, I would choose a specific portion of the storyline and start there. I change all the characters to slightly different versions of themselves. Like "Goku" now becomes "Kogu", a martial artist with a similar personality, personality, and capabilities. I don't know why, but doing it this way appeals to my sensibilities.

>>
>>98341113
I've always enjoyed shitty DeviantArt OCs and autistic people's worlds that they create... So maybe that has something to do with it?
>>
>>98337643
People who do this are spiritually from SB or reddit. The only reason you'd want to go to a setting you know nothing about is if you would also use cringe supermarket jumps. You only care about muh perks at that point. Which is especially retarded because we've got more than a decade of power creep by now.

>Wait, we don't have one?
There's always just going there in Iconics. Or was this a clumsy plug for the SB jump?
Honestly not sure what I'd go for there... Gut check says otter since it's probably the most novel among commonly available forms there compared to other settings, but style wise it might be fun to go raccoon or just do boring old changeling so you're not stuck in whatever faction a given critter would normally be beholden to.

(It's funny I did a bit of homework on this jump and there isn't much of a plot)
So... the beginning of this jump was a little odd I was summoned before a king with 4 other people. One was Japanese Salaryman so I assumed he was the main character. 3 of them apparently were great heroes and the Salaryman and I apparently rolled a crit fail when it came to getting cool abilities.
The Salaryman Mukoda-san talked the king in to that our ability was shit so we weren't Hero material. Mukoda-san seemed like a nice guy and seemed to understand what was going on so I went along with it. We were given some money and freed to go on our way. Mukoda-san suggested we travel together but sadly I didn't want to butterfly away any important plot points so I declined telling him we would meet again some day. He went one direction and I went the complete opposite and so began my journey. I traveled many lands, I made many friends Bloop the slime that became my familiar. Shadow, the black wolf who decided much to my wife's chagrin she was going to be my second wife after tasting the food that I made. I also managed to draw the attention of several gods including one obnoxious goddess who demanded tributes of sweets and food. I put my cooking skill to good use and revived several blessings. One even from the creator god himself making it so I was effectively immortal (of the timeless sort)
>>
I need a list of jumps that let me buy Freedom Fuel. NOW.
>>
>>98344130
What you're describing is as spiritually /tg/ as it gets. People spent years going to niche settings that no one cares about (like Johnny Test or Cho Aniki) just to get a highly specific perk (probably based on game mechanics) to add to their combos they would use to ascend into godhood.
>>
>>98348167
This. At the dawn of Jumpchain, not everyone was a walking media encyclopaedia. Nobody will ever know how many settings I wiki-walked for, and how many I already knew.
>>
>>98347440
What the hell is Freedom Fuel? Is it oil? I don't know any jumps that let you buy an oil well.
>>
>>98346929
Thanks, Kanon. Looks good.
>>
>>98348670
Most people today aren't walking media encyclopedia either, they only know a few settings decently well and often because they absorbed it by osmosis from seeing it discussed in the community.
>>
>>98346929
It's kind of nostalgic to see a filename care about images this late in the game

Nigga what? Does you be meanin a namefag?
>>
>>98346929
It's too bad the 2nd game went full woke. Especially when the 1st one was reasonably based.
>>
>>98350160
We have a much larger breadth of people even now than we appear to. All of us know a couple strange settings that others would find unusual, but we don't bring them up because there isn't much engagement from others for it. Build and writefagging can counter this somewhat, but it isn't something Jumpchain ever solved, tried to, or necessarily should.
>>
because last thread closed before i could ask it...
The idea of Evil Necromantic oil got me thinking of Dinosaurs. Where can I get/ make an army of Undead dinosaurs. Potentially with the option of adding cybernetic bits like lasers and chainsaws?
>>
>>98354576
Pokemon and Fossil Fighters, though you'll have to purposefully get the perk in Sword and Shield that lets you just jam random fossil bits together in order to ensure it's janky enough you can bolt on some extra chrome. From there pretty much any jump with cybernetics would work, but a silly pick for that would be Duel Monsters Shadow Realm because Cyber Saurus is a thing that should exist there.
>>
>>98352718
I think it is fair to say that we have at most 50 active users here between anon and namefags at any given time. Everyone probably has maybe 2 or 3 franchises where they have that level of knowledge. But the main thing is that we don't really discuss those if ever. In this thread alone we haven't really had that level of discussion and in the last thread we had discussion about maybe 10 franchises.
>>
>>98354576
Oil isn't dinosaurs. If you think about it for longer than 2 seconds, it makes no sense at all. Black water is naturally occuring just like water or sand.
>>
>>98354944
Yes but it's a common theme that's said Dinosaurs = oil. I am sure you have heard it and I am sure you have pointed out that it's silly when you heard it, but I bet you heard it enough that you understand the link.

>>98354690
Fossil Fighters? I have never heard of that I will have to look in to that. As for the Shadow Realm jump, that's a maybe I kind of want a Skeletal T-rex with lasers and mounted rocket launchers on it. I'll see about making it work.
>>
>military instituting testosterone screening for service members

I'm actually a big fan of Generic Pulp
I tend to use it as a first jump and it's probably the one I've thought about the most in terms of Jumper's adventures
>>
>>98313150
I'd rate the Arcanum jump pretty high on my personal list. It's a jump that any reasonably careful Jumper can handle early or even first in their chain, and because of the many themes of the world itself that a jumper can choose to dive deep into (fantastical racism, technology, magic, political and capitalistic conspiracies), there are a lot of choices that can inform the rest of the chain, so I like it a lot
>>
It's fun how some jumpmakers will write in things like "the companion can't join you if you mind control them" and I, an intelligent person, am aware that anybody doing jumpchain with a mind control fetish is going to ignore their caveat and tell them to eat their own shits and continue along with their single-player jumpchain experience
>>
>>98357840
I guess the same could be said of any sort of stipulation or rule written into a jump, right? It kind of reminds me of the time that the makers of the UNO card game tried to explain that people's house rules were wrong on twitter, and people responded with, "Okay buddy... You just print the cards. We play it however the hell we want."

Nasu just dropped an interview where he said that 100 years doesn't matter, 1000 years doesn't matter, ORT is simply impossible to defeat by humanity at all. Period. It is an objectively superior lifeform, a perfected end state above any and all accomplishments the Nasuverse Earth can muster.

Yes. It was defeated several times but kept coming back by resummoning itself as a servant and would have until Kulkulkan (Sp?) who was a goddess made from Ort's heart showed up and destroyed it. Before that in lore some immortal bat guy ripped out Ort's heart and forced it in to dormancy.

I think you are getting this backwards.
Someone said for Ort, getting waifued is a moral victory. I am saying such a moral victory is still a loss.
If you overcome Ort with your dick, you are correct that is a total victory. Enjoy your hot crystal spider girl waifu. Also remember to get lots of Corn. She likes that.

I prefer "I was Caught in a Hero Summoning", it's one of the better jumps made by Ricrod

By gods. First, he was defeated by Beast-class God that was super immortal, even by Beast standards, at the cost of the entire humanity of this period.

And the boss battle during FGO? It required the intervention of several Gods. So, yeah, Mankind cannot beat ORT. But Mankind + Godkind could, and even that would be a fight harder than the one when Sefar ended the Age of Gods.

Sefar = Destroys civilizations and kills gods.
Ort = Destroys planets which is actually hard to do in the Nasuverse because they are alive and defending themselves. So yeah, Ort is busted. Beatable but Busted.
