>>98329655>Thread Question: What is your favorite kit for conversion fodder?Has to be the power armour Grey Knights kit. Even having built a GK army out of it back in the day, there are just so many bits and weapons in it I still get use out of it to this day.
>>98329673I'm kind of tempted to get the GK combat patrol for novelty's sake, maybe a Daemonhunters army for 40k 3E. What kind of leftover bits do you find generally useful?
>>98329688NTA I answered this the other day but I’ll go more into it: all the heads are fine for a knightly look and the unhelmed are fine too. The swords work for paragon, special or even just plain power swords with flair, even has left hands ones. The halberds work for all polearms. Wrist bolters can work for special units like Dawnbreakers, I swear DG got something similar. There’s a sword stabbing a Nurgle demon and a hand holding a Slaanesh one-cool factor there. The teleport backpack stuff could be fixed to be more nuncio like? The Boxnaught is just a box with I think a couple extra bits, maybe not even? Can’t remember. The special heavy weapons could be converted. Theres books and nades and little extra bits for random stuff. All the armor is a complete wash unless you’re masochistic, lot of frills and writing. The weapons got GK on em but they’re easily enough cut and sanded off. I used a lot for my BA army.Good box for general use of all editions/games/armies worth a shit
>>98329688Off the top of my head:>Hands>Arms>Melee weapons, if you like power swords it'll last you a lifetime>Pouches>Grenades>Back packs>Helmets>Heads>Some shoulder pads>The warp vanes on the interceptor back packs, can make cool combi-grenade launchers with thoseOnly need to remove a inquisition or GK icon occasionally
>>98329688The helmets are great, the two handed swords, glaives , hammers , the interceptor back pack pipes are great for sniper rifles/barrel extansions. There is books and psychic hood heads to make your own librarians, esoterists etc.
>>98329688You can make a funny oldschool sized looking "command squad out of the guys with ornate armour suits.
What are your favourite Legion matchups, and why?
Did 3.0 kill heresy? I know it did for me
>>98330045Not even remotely. Even the femstodes launch box sold out in certain areas. And locally the HH playerbase has almost doubled. It's not for everyone, sure, but nothing should be. People who like the older editions can still play those.
>>98330045It dealt a pretty big blow to the game. GW lying about it being minor changes and 3 year cycle generated a lot of animosity towards GW and probably prompted some people shelving their armies. The game died in my area from it and I'm trying to bring it back by playing 1.0.
>>98330045Why wpuld ever a new version kill a game? You still have your armies, your books, missions, terrains and whatever. Dropping a game, especially if you were enjoying it, because of a new version is bad. GW have noz took your choice to have fun.
>>98330045it killed 2.0 in a lot of places. In the end I think that the groups of people that like 3.0 a lot, and those that liked 1.0&2.0 a lot, have a far fewer over lap then GW may have wanted. Maybe not as drastic as WFB and AoS, but it is similar. Like a 6&7ed enjoyer, is mechanicaly not going enjoy 10th or 11th. And if he does it is inspite of the game differences, then rather because of them.
>>98330382>it killed 2.0 in a lot of placesWow, you mean people stop playing the old game when a new version of that game is out? No way!
>>98329988Sauce on those shields please?
>>98330045undoubtedly yeah, by any metric it has done a lot of damage to the active community which I'd say has shrunk by at least 40% since Q3 2025. The most tangible evidence I have is that the TSN guys have cut their heresy events in half and still struggle to fill places in the few still going, and that is in the most active scene of the UK.
>>98330045You don’t play
>>98330045Our group is slowly but surely leaning towards 1.0 again. The first few games have been played over the past few months. Even the kids that joined when 2.0 launched and made the game more accessible, are looking into 1.0.Me being an adhd grog, I never got used to 2.0 and 3.0. I often forget taking reactions altogether. I do not mind going back to 1.0.That said, not the rules but the passion and detail that went into 1.0 30k sucked me in. Current edition just lacks that passion and detail that 1.0 and to a certain degree 2.0 had.

1st was like a passion project2nd was mid way between passion and make $ line go up3rd is "get the 40k audience to buy this game"
>>98330045it killed nothing, i was already dead inside
>>98331226More like 2nd was a garbage unfinished pre-alpha build, shat out because 3rd was already being worked on, and GW wanted to recoup at least some of the development cost. And to have at least something to go alongside the plastic models releases.
>>98330045yeah it pretty much balkanized the community and sank the game from the highs of 2eour monthly meet ups are basically the same people playing against each other across three different editions and they all refuse to pick one (it should be 1e btw)
>>98330045Over here it was already dead, 3.0 didn't add anything to revitalize it and even took stuff away.

>>98329655>Thread Question: What is your favorite kit for conversion fodder? As a dark angels player, the raven wing command/black knight squad, SUUUUPER Juicy kit for bits.
>>98330045killed? no, got a really good hit on it? yes. Reaosn being is a lot of people are very skeptical of how GW is going to handle the updates, if we see a 3 year cycle, you can expect more people to dig their heels in on 3.0 or 2.0.
>>98330424anon he means it killed 2.0 and 3.0 did not take its place.
>>98330340Tell that to modern DnD fans, especially the ones who are "right" leaning. They think the system that is ALL ABOUT making your own rules basically and telling your own stories is dead just because the more recent versions have some DEI BS in them. Its like, just ignore what you dont like and TELL YOUR OWN FUCKING STORIES, LIKE WHAT WAS INTENDED.
>>98329655blood angels death company my beloved ;_;7
>>98330340Rules create a agreed upon system by which you can play the game, the problem is that once GW makes a new ruleset teh old rule set not only is not supported, they go out of their wya to make sure you cant get the rules. Its hard to get people to want to play a version of teh game that is not being supported, or upkept by most people and players. 5th ed 40k still has all the modesl and rules out tehre, good luck trying to find a pick up game to play it. Not everyone has a solid group of people to play with.
>Sarge w/ power fist ad disintegrator pistol>3x Vets w/ thunder hammers>2x Vets w/ lightning claws>2x Vets w/ graviton maces>2x Vets w/ chainaxes & volkite serpentasIs this a good or schizo loadout for IW vet despoilers?

>>98332655All WS are mounted on a bike, all WE hold a chainaxe and run forward screaming, all SW yiff and all DA are gay. You should know this anon.
>>98332689Yeah, that’s my fault for forgetting. I’ll be sure to take my guys in for flanderizing this weekend.
>>98330045It killed my community. People are playing other games now. It sucks.I'm also a TO for heresy events and we TOs talk and compare notes. From the three other guys running 30k events I know, we're seeing something like 30% less registrations at events. Economy/global situation is a factor, but over here interest in 3.0 is tepid at best.
>>98332979Good, also take your self to gay conversion therapy to maybe stop being a faggot and learn to laugh at memes.
>>98333037We had the same thing happen, because a lot of people jumped to HH 1.0 post 8th ed becuase 8th ed fucking SUCKED, and even more jumped on with 2.0 becuase it was a proper mainline launch. 2.0 was a good time, lots of new blood, lots of old blood, and great models. 3.0 drove a lot of old blood off because they could smell the same shit that happened to 40k on HH now since 3.0 came just 3 years post 2.0. A lot of people are leery now about HH, even i am because i dont wanna deal with 3 year cycle slop.
>>98332310>>98330340Hobbies are not closed ecosystems. If something gets a rep, it changes your player pool, like WOTC and Paradox slapping bigotry warnings on old products.
>>98333107Yep. Exact same story over here. Overall 2.0 was well liked, because the assumption was that it would get a decade of support so it wouldn't be half finished. 3.0 was total whiplash as most got into heresy to escape this very thing. I stopped playing and lost most of the enthusiasm. I'm still hosting events trying to keep the spirit alive, but its tough being motivated.
>>98333107It's kind of crazy that, at least for my local scene, 2.0 attracted generally decent people who cared about the setting or were at least willing to learn. All the players who started in 3.0 are 40k tournament speds who constantly ask "is this a strong list" or unironically netlist from youtube. The same people are also asking to proxy units while never painting any of their models.
>>98333246Sounds like those guys should play Titanicus
>>983332232.0 had its issues, and like no one i think was denying that but the hope was a more itterative set of rules were they just fixed things and expanded upon them. When 3.0 dropped and we saw a massive upheaval of a lot of rules, a LOT of people sensed danger so to say, and pulled back hard, which even I started pulling back because its like "Ok i gotta wait to see how this pans out." some things of 3.0 i really enjoy some i really really dont. >>98333246I noticed an increase in 40k refugees especially from 10th ed which seemed like a 40k low point (I dipped outta 40k after psyker awakening in 8th ed, its just not the game I enjoyed anymore) not a lot of tourny players though, thankfully. Our gorup is pretty good, we have out right said no custodes at events because of how stupid they are. The biggest upset we have among our group is the loss of customization on some characters that feels bad, or the cutting of some characters all together, RIP Redloss and holguin, pic related is my redloss i now use as a preator because i cant do anything else with him.
>>98333104Your joke wasn’t funny and you’re a gay bum.
>>98333281You sir, are EXTREMELY, bald.
>>98333104Ok, will I see you there this week or have you quit the program?
>>98333291Damn right i will be, better not be afraid to kiss me on the mouth this time, hussy.
>>98333294Count on it!
>>98333275For us, the big annual events don't even fire anymore. A weekender that would usually have 20+ people in previous years apparently only had 2 people sign up in 2025 and they didn't even try this year. Another three day event which is normally almost 50 struggled to get more than 10 attendees. The economy is obviously a factor (the bigger one was charging $80 a head with very little incentive in 2025) but the sudden changes left a sour taste in most people's mouths and all the momentum 2.0 built up got sent careening down a cliff.pic related are the nullificators that still don't have rules a year later.
On top of the rules cycle I think the “chibification” and the cleanliness of the new books and art has also killed my passion. Too many models look too clean or silly. I really miss the old scale model painting style and miniatures of HH1.0. A lot of the art and heavy metal paint styles alongside those saturnine and praetor models are just too 40k. The line troops if not painted heavy metal style still look good but I prefer the older designs and paint jobs by a mile
>>98333378What theyve done to nurgle in general is a fucking CRIME. I get that hes the "ewwww, STINKY!" faction, but the general cartooniness of current nurgle daemons and all the plague marines.....whomever did that should be put against the wall and shot.
>>98333378Yeah thats a big one too, modern books looks way to like, caproate not enough edge and grunge to them.>>98333313I think the economy is a big one, like bigger then most think, i think GW is gonna feel the wrath of that one soon enough
>>98333378I've felt this as well, it definitely feels like there has been some kind of executive level mandate to roundify as many designs as possible, numk2/3 being the most obvious examples. But even in 40k with stuff like the rogal dorn tank vs the leman russ, or the new sentinel vs the old sentinel
>>98333411Yeah the loss of teh boxy desgins is killing it for me too, that was part of the charm of warhammer. I mean the land raider and spartan kits killed it. But on some newer stuff yeah idk what the fuck is going on. I have the hot take but i think the new dread is fucking ass, the saturine are OK but just OK, their weapon options fucking SUCK which is what is killing me. I just got done listening to one of the iron hand novellas were the salamanders basically break out the saturnine terminator armor they were told to flee with from istvaan, and it describes them as having like las canons, HB, roto canons chain sword and shit, they sounded dope in the book, and you could tell it was meant to be describing saturnine and then waht we got was the big doodoo
>>98333436yeah it's especially weird since basically everything except the space marines has been 1:1 (more or less) with the fw designs. The vehicle kits are legitimately excellent. But for some reason they decided to completely change how the space marines looked. Wonder why.
>>98333411>the rogal dorn tankA primaris (heh) example of "we have to make the new shit EXTREEEEMMMMEEEEE 90s style!" As in its bigger, gaudier, rounder and with more pointless shit all over it and is it true that it doesnt have a bottom? WTF were they thinking with that? >>98333436which new dread? Also, werent the saturnines supposed to have weapons on their backs as well, IE: like the dreadwolves or the nemesis titans? Like they are basically walking artillery platforms? I seem to remember art of them like that....
>>98333562The saturnine dread i dont like it at all, it makes me look at it and go "Ok so like....what fucking roll is this for other thing bigger dread?"And yes saturnine are meant to have a lot more weapons options then what they got, they are meant to be ranged weapon platforms not so much melee, they are missing shit like las canons, HB, Assault canons, chain fists/swords, as described in the IH book.
>>98332310yeah or you can just play a system that is actually fun and also lacks shitty rules and a palpable animosity for the medium and its players. stupid libtard
>>98333582Def seems like they were a rushed kit, with possible "DLC/patches" in the future, modern game design style. Like all the missing options in an overpriced upgrade kit that doesnt give you enough of the parts you want but tons of ones you dont need....This is why resin was the true way to do this shit, sell the upgrades individually instead of on a fucking sprue...They could STILL sell plastic the same way they did resin too, they just dont want to for some stupid reason. Some fucking board room full of absolute mongoloid jews who dont play the game or build/model/convert the figures or vehicles probably havent even thought of it that way, just go back to the bits catalogues that they used to have, sell small upgrade sprues with a few weapons of whatever on them individually in clear plastic blister packs with a paper insert like their individual FW resin figures....I fucking hate modern GW so much.
to what extent are /yourdudes/ criminals?are they conscious of the fact?
OH WOW, ok, I just realized a weird thing. Does anyone here own a LEGIT Macharius VULCAN? Can I see the pics of the side of it if any of you do?I just built one, along with a Mach Omega (both recasts of course, not from WTG, because they dont have either of them...), and the tread housings for the Vulcan fit kind of weird while also not having the two little holes for the sponsons to slot into the sides properly, in fact they only fit in the middle of the thing instead of near the back like usual. Seemed weird but I didnt think too much into it. Well, I was just looking at a picture of a Gorgon transport on WTG and realized, holy shit the sides are the same. So I just checked and yep, the recaster sent it to me with fucking gorgon sides instead of macharius sides.... I mean, they worked just fine in the end, but now that I know this im shocked, lol.
>>98333769>anon accidentally creates a new ersatz pattern of macharius using leftover gorgon partsCongrats, the admech death squad will arrive at your doorstep in 5-7 business days!
>HH players love the 30k era>many of them read the BL novels>many of them also HATE PRIMARCHS FOR SOME REASON??what causes this?
>>98333797>Bringing up shit no one in this thread is talking about >Literally the only person to mention primarch in this entire threadGo bait the 40k thread or the AoS nerds, we dont do that here sir. >>98333769>Does anyone here own a LEGIT Macharius VULCAN?Im surprised when i see anyone who owns legit FW models .
Wanna make some white scars for 2.0 heresy since they are easily one of my top favourite legions and I've been out of the game since 3rd dropped. The legion rules of +1 movement seems fine but nothing to write home about. What are some ways I can go about making a decent enough list for them? As much as I love jetbikes I'm really more enamoured with some footslogging, driving or jump pack using chogorians.
>>98333804well, before I started buying up every recast I could find in the last few months, I owned a legit gorgon, macharius vanquisher (both assembled) and 3 arkurian baneblades (2 stormblades and a shadowsword, all unassembled). I sold all of them in the last couple months for like 3 grand and have replaced almost every single one for literally pennies on the dollar. Ive sold a ton of other legit FW shit too FOR TONS of dosh and replaced it all with recasts that were pretty much 90% 1:1 copies of them for next to nothing. This hobby has gotten pretty weird since I have gotten back into it after quitting around 2015ish....
>>98333804>only person to mention primarch in this entire threadExactly my point. People who love the HH but don't play the game love the primarchs and will always talk about them in any HH discussion, whereas you guys never seem to talk about them and when you do it's only for ingame stats or bitching about how they ruin the HH or something every other thread
What did 3rd edition do that upset so many people? Is it really that bad?
>>98333805A good distraction carnafax for them is a unit of Golden Kesheg + a stormcaller.16+1 for WS + You full rush as a normal move, then you can charge with them. They fucking BOOK across the board. Low survivability, but hit like fucking trucks.
>>98333814I love the primarchs mostly (except dorn, russ and rowboat, faggots all of them), like MOST of the HH books (except the perpetuals and john whatshisface, lore shit the bed at that point honestly) and dont play the game, but I feel if I did, it wouldnt change my opinions of them as characters, id just seperate their models/lore from their stats and gameplay mechanics. Maybe that just makes me an autists or whatever, who cares at the end of the day though.
>>98333817Depends on your area. In my area HH was basically dead until 3rd dropped. In a buddy's area, 3rd killed the game until they switched back to 2.0
>>98333814No one is taking the bait move on. We are discussing legion tactics like WS shananagins. >>98333817It was not really 3rd rules itself that was the problem, there are a few thing within 3rd that were stupid or poorly desgined that are slowly being addressed, examples being>Launching with 3 fucking missions lol>Having to panic scramble to release legend units that have more entries in the PDF vs the actual books>Missions are only 4 turns, which newer missions are 5>Challenge system is jsut time wasting and the illusion of choice 99% of the time you pick strike first or finish the fight almost every single time. What really set off people with 3rd was the time of it, it came 3 years after 2.0, and rather then being a 2.5 which is what almost everyone wanted it to be, they re-did large armount of the game mechanics for better or for worse, and what has people upset is that this smells like GW putting HH into the 3 year cycle slop where every 3 years the game fundamentally changes or has sweeping rule rewrites. The very thing most HH players were explicitly wanting to avoid.
>>98333797hh is about armies of super soldiers killing each other en masse as mankind kills itself in a cataclysmic cosmic civil war. that shit is cool, so is the narrative focus and faux-historical approach of the game material. primarchs are superhero slop that completely compromise everything i just mentioned. so yeah, i don't like them as anything more than faraway generals and madmen. now tell me anon, what is your favorite legion?
>>98333436not controversial - the saturnine models (inc dread)are horrible
>>98333817- 3 year cycle- lame saturnine range- loss of flavour in unit entries/options (boxlocking)- loss of flavour in RoW/list building despite being more complicated than ever before- scoring in every turn and weird scoring mechanics- clean models and range rather than grim dark style from 1.0
>>98333818Golden Keshig are pretty cool. Their weapons being only 1 attack on the charge always rubbed me the wrong way. They really won't kill much into anything except for low model count or big units like dreads or tanks and the hit and run always feels like it just puts them in a position to be charged the next turn
>>98333769this feels like z fuckery
>>98333961z fuckery...?
>>98333943Ture but thats what makes them distraction carnifexes, you just run them up the board and pop rhinos since their spears are freaking AP 1 S10, or mow down MEQ units because they get template heavy bolters which is bonkers cool..
Which Legion would be most likely to use weapons inspired by the Custodes?I was thinking either Imperial Fists due to their strong connection to Terra, or Blood Angels since their aesthetics are surprisingly similar both in style and colour. Artistic weapons of war.
>>98333817It was mainly how poorly the launch was handled - both by GW and by the HH players. Especially GW claiming it was not a big rules overhaul was a poor move. And the HH players were down right hysteric, the doom posting and psychotic delusions were off the charts.
>>98333964zack, probably
>>98334217The only correct answer is Grey KnightsAll the other legions had their own customs and culture, and the custodes hate marines with a passion so definitely wouldn't tolerate imitation.
>>98334232>the custodes hate marines with a passion so definitely wouldn't tolerate imitation. That's silly.
>>98334273Well the grimdark is a very silly place in a lot of ways.
>>98329922>>98329935>>98329986>>98329988Thanks for the responses. Suppose it's a matter of time before James either squats GK or gives them an update that's Aspect Marines all over again.>Combi-GrenadesSo you just snip these off, the bolter's bayonet mount, and then plaster them on? Neat.

Z is a prominent recaster, however Z also refers to the russian slime invading Ukraine which might cause some confusion.
>>98334354OH, ok. Thats funny, because I just got added to a private recaster sub (I fucking hate reddit, dont get the wrong idea, im just looking for different sites and sellers besides the usual ones, trying to find a good source for a lucius warhound atm...) and people all over it were PRAISING THE SHIT out of that guy or whatever he is.
>>98334370Supposedly he is one of the best, but that's all I know. I get my stuff from BLM, but dipped my toe into WTG and am currently awaiting my first delivery.
>>98334374BLM were OK, WTG have been STELLAR for me, other than a pretty flimsy chaos hell talon bomber, wasnt the best sadly. Got an OG thunderhawk from them and it was no worse than my legit FW one that I sold because it was pretty miscast, Still got like $700 for it at least, lol.

I hope someday we get some good community rules all the cool people go play that instead of whatever reprinted slop we get with 4.0 and 5.0.

>>98334388That was before the GW custom exchange rate apocalypse, not the most fair comparison. Ordered it like 2 and a half months ago, as well as both a legion basi AND a legion medusa, and havent heard SHIT from them. Emailed them a few weeks ago, nothing, then emailed them AGAIN, mentioned that im getting cold feet and they FINALLY responded, but their response was "well get back to you in a day or two fren, dont worry", and nothing else since then....Fucking sucks, ive had like 97% success rate so far buying recast shit, so I figure SOMETHING bad has to happen at some point here, law of averages and all that, but the fact that its probably going to be one of my white whales that I get fucked without lube on REALLY stings....

And the attempts to imitate the early Black Books are just painful to read. They also tend to be incredibly powerful, but thats somewhat besides the point because obviously there exists some numerical combination for which the reroll is "mathematically balanced", even if you have to end up with really weird weapon statlines to do that. It wasnt in basically any edition of warhammer (modern 40k devolved into "everyone rerolls everything" and before that rerolls were insanely broken (see chaplains)) but its technically possible to balance rerolls in some hypothetical edition. They also slow down the game, but thats minor compared to everything else. >>98337460You CAN have them, but you shouldnt. They are at best "an evil that can be tolerated in small doses". How many quad mortars until its a dick move? Is 12 too many?
>>98340993Double heresywhoopsImeanfalsehood.
>>98341033is three too few?do they all have to be mortars?if you're a mortar kinda dude then go nuts but a dozen of them is going to detract from the texture of the rest of the force at any reasonable scalei hope you're proonting them! there are a good few nice looking carriage sculpts.
>>98341087>i hope you're proonting them!Yes. Buying 12 mortars, even at recast prices, is far too much for a unit I dont expect to use very much (mostly an answer for autocannon HSS). The idea is a small allied detachmet of SA (line section, two 20 man squads, artillery command, 2 artillery tercio full of quad mortar units. Another idea is something similar, but with militia. Add some of those 7" rocket artillery for good measure, love me some statuses.
>>98341149i think there's a lot more breathing room concerning the points they'll occupy and your army's flavor if said carriages are auxilia ones. i had assumed astartes.it is pretty on-point for baseliners to be trying to do their stuff through means of artillery as opposed to being up-front bolter food
>>98341217Its around 10pts cheaper per rapier iirc, theyre 50pts each for aux (and in a siege tercio, they scatter less).
>>98340590Judging by those, its a good thing he did....
>>98341033in 12 units? yes, you'll never stop firing because of statuses and it'll be a whole lot of busy work to deal with youin 3-4 or even in 6 units? no, you're gonna get rolled by the first volkite kratos you meet, and it'll cost half as much even with the Decurion to give it that sweet return choom
>>98341332truer space marines than anything gw has ever shat out btw ;3
>>98341149DESU for SA another good allied to take is just artillery command and 3 basalisks, it comes just under 500 points and i mean, being able to drop 3 S10 Breaching 5+ D2 pinning 2 shots anywhere on the board is never NOT good.
>>98341361>you're gonna get rolled by the first volkite kratos you meetYou know, im not sure about that.Obviously quad mortars cant kill a kratos, but the volkite kratos isnt exactly great at killing them either. The big gun kills around one militia/aux rapier. And the little volkites wont exactly be much better (theyll actually be worse). The full loadout (autocannon, big choom, four little chooms, adds up to around 7 wounds done to rapiers. So two guns taken out. Plus the big advantage I can see for mortars is "you can hide them behind terrain". Theyre 60" range barrage, you can just hide them out of LoS of anything and shell away. Kratoses are not known for their speed to get vantate points. >>98341383Basilisks are breaching 6+, medusas are breaching 5+. But I dont like how medusas look. I like the 40k style basilisks though. So I might get one if I decide to pursue this SA allies thing.
>>98341391sorry 6+ yeah but still its really nice.If you wanna go the other way you can do it with milita and get like 5 earth shakers for the same price, but they cant move and dont have pinning 2 and dont get to subtract their BS from the shot.
>>98341444For militia I like their big rockets. 7" blast with barrage(1) seems like just an autohit essentially, and suppressive(2) on that seems nasty. Just drown the backline of the other guy in status checks.
>>98341462Ooo yeah thats also really good.
>>98338327You want to re run Operation Zapad, why?Anyway. Does anyone know if the chainblads from a contemptor dreadnought fit on a fist that leviathan has?
To the anons arguing about re-rolls. IMO its ok that they got rid of them, but they also didn't replace the void they left with anything either which is a big miss. What I mean is that there used to be a weapon type that mechanically more reliable to hit with (twin linked etc) that's now basically gone. This really hurts expensive low volume shooting like super heavy tanks or NPC armies like aux/militia that needed those sorts of weapons to not feel bad.
>>98330045Are the 2.0 pdfs even available? I want to complete my collection by I'm missing a few of the supplements
>>98342042i can't see any issue in rolling more dice besides the time it takes, and it's texture to the combat at the end of the day. that there's a modicum of consistency perhaps introduced to weapons with it is not all that offensive on the likes of which its featuredchainblades and laser cannons namely? pretty serious stuff in the setting
>>98342077Unfortunately rerolls would be a downgrade for a lot of weapons now due to the implementation of damage. 2 Las canons shots at 2d a shot is way better then a single twin linked las canon for 2 damage.
How bad an idea is it to run a thunder hammer on a despoiler sgt? I feel the smart option is 3 heavy chainswords, but I feel like the thunder hammer could be cool.

>>98342281The odd unpainted unit is no sin, but an entire unpainted army? contemptor with no arms? anon. get him some help.
>>98342327well he painted 2 of those terminators since I last saw him so I let him off the hook
>>98339777Nakrid Thole, Mawdrym Llanshai and Kheron Ophion.
I just printed some weapons, but the builder I have I don't like the bodies. I have some currently unused Mk6, but was going to use them for a different army. Life is pain.
What's a good start for custodes? Should I get the new box? Am I right in thinking that these guys make much more sense on the battlefield than they do in 40k? What kind of battles did they engage in?
>>98342042>What I mean is that there used to be a weapon type that mechanically more reliable to hit with (twin linked etc) that's now basically gone.It isn't gone, not at all. Blast weapons are now insanely accurate. Even if you fail the hit roll, the blast only scatters 1D6", meaning even for a small blast marker it is incredibly hard to entirely miss something as small as a Rhino.

>Both my Whirlwind boxes had one of the plastic seals cut, and then re-sealed with a new oneWhat is up with that? Nothing seems to be missing from the boxes. Did these get re-packaged by GW or something? The build instruction booklet is a lot fancier than the one that came with the scorpius, full colour and glossy finish. There also seems to be a new vehicle transfer sheet, has IW and Salamanders on it too and a lot more icons and shit.

>>98343184
>>98342042the jump in reliability to Hit was from 83% to 97% at BS5 and from 66% to 88% at BS4this meant that a BS4 model with a twin-linked weapon was as likely to hit something as a BS7 model using its 5+ reroll and a BS5 model with a twin-linked weapon became equivalent to a BS10 model with any weaponin effect if you had a twin-linked lascannon (issues of Sunder aside, since they came on the scene much later) it was a better weapon than the Exitus rifle of a Vindicare, or at least equal (depending on the era and specific profile of that weapon)twin-linked lascannons were ten a penny if you recall, at times there were even special rules, Reactions etc that could make a weapon (including lascannons sometimes) twin-linked for a shooting attackreplacing that is the Critical Hit system that increases Damage per Wound, meaning there's always a chance to miss (more often than 1/36 anyway) and the damage output of any weapon used by BS6+ models is increased when they hit
>>98343481Let me guess, the hand and arms are one piece for terminators?

>>983413911/7 to take 2W from the carrier each shot with the cardanelle; this destroys a Militia carrier and removes 2/3 of the Aux carrier's Wounds; the subsequent Cool Check is at 4 for Militia and 6 for Aux (1/6 pass for Militia and 2/5 pass for Aux; this is why larger units are less oppressive playstyle); Suppressed massively reduces their usefulness (even with Precision Bombardment 80% of their shots will be 4" off target on average)calivers and culverin are 1/9 to take 1W each shot, the bolter vs MEQ standard (or the house wins at craps - you know, the game the house runs because it wins a lot)Deflagrate hits for all three are rather better since the Hits are automatic and are thus 1/5 for the cardanelle and 1/6 for the calivers and culverin and in all cases inflict 1 Damage on an unsaved Wound; so wiping that Aux carrier becomes almost 1/6 for the cardanelle and easier for the other chooms tooto be honest I stand by the assessment that the only thing that makes them particularly survivable is if they're split into 12 separate 1 carrier units, which is relatively doable without too much thought, though they'd still be quite a large chunk of points - 600 for the Aux, 540 for the Militia - and in those numbers the Militia points break is probably worth it even though it's only saving like 45 points; they're losing out on their highest chance of killing MEQ (and only chance of dealing with light tanks) if they're behind cover, and Militia don't even have Shatter shells at all, so anything reasonable hard to kill - dreadnoughts, TEQ, AEQ, not to mention AV14 which they cannot touch - becomes intransigent if not impossible to deal withfor the cost of a small to mid-tier LoW they're not a great investment even at 2K-3Kthe thing about Aux rapiers being able to keep shooting even if their crew are killed is still very funny tho; picture the confused Kharn trying to work out where the skull is on an Aux rapier carrier so he can finish the fight and leave

>>98343660>); Suppressed massively reduces their usefulnessIt literally does nothing to barrage anon, since those do not roll to hit and therefore dont care. Assuming they survive which is also not a given. And breaking down the damage into "this does X" means rather little because the damage is still ultimately what was laid out. I.e a kratos firing full tilt at a unit kills around two rapiers. Which is not very much and not a big threat. Its not the sort of overkill where it can split fire to effectively take out multiple targets, its a big heavy tank taking a shot it wont get to take often and coming out not very far ahead.
>>98343660>- dreadnoughts, TEQ, AEQ, not to mention AV14 which they cannot touch - becomes intransigent if not impossible to deal withYou arent taking quad mortars to deal with dreadnoughts. Nor are shatter shells even good for dealing with dreads because 2+ saves are a thing. Quad mortars exist either to cause panic(3) via phosphex or to drown any power armor in armor saves from a position that offers very little counterplay to defensive armies. You simply shell anyone on their home objective/shell their HSS and they kinda have to take it.
