The Captain was rather surprised to discover that the message was, in fact, an invitation. But because he was unfamiliar with the cant in which it had been written, he still could not make sense of the first part.

Even so, he knew that the polite response to an invitation was to attend. With that in mind, he headed toward the academy library, hoping Andris might have a moment to spare so that he could inform her of the plans for that evening.

He had no idea when Celia’s classes were due to end, which left him with two options: search for her through the academy halls, or simply wait for her in his office.

The tale of the Techpriestess continues from https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/98262662/#98267515

>There were some among the Inquisition who would say that Inquisitor Larquin had amassed too much power. They had said much the same of her predecessor, and his predecessor before him, on back through the ages. It was not hard to see why: While the stalwart crusaders of the Ordos Hereticus and Malleus daily sent thousands of heretics to the stake, here was an Ordo Minoris, vague in its mandate and far-reaching in its influence, wielding resources that were the envy of its peers.

>Yet, as Amalia stepped forth from her dropship into the hangar of the 'Oculus Occulta,' her critics seemed far away indeed. For seventy generations, the Inquisitors of her order had called this ancient vessel home, their secrets hidden within its black hull.

>"Our destination is the Hydraphur system." the Inquisitrix announced, scarcely acknowledging her chief acolyte's greeting, "Order Captain Miroslav to make best speed out of the gravity well and commence Warp translation at minimum safe distance. I am not to be disturbed until our arrival."

>Minutes later, Amalia was in her quarters, a palatial baroque conservatory set atop the ship's superstructure, where acres of polished blue marble reflected the dim glitter of starlight. No sooner had the doors closed behind her than she slipped off her finery, letting her persona of untouchable arrogance fall away as easily as she cast off her cloak. There, in a shadowy rotunda, she slid gracefully into the waiting pool, washing away the stress of the day in warm, perfumed water.

>A servo-skull came floating along, bobbing beside her like a pet. "Hello, Reinhardt" the Inquisitrix crooned, affectionately tickling the skull's chin. As Amalia closed her eyes and lay back in the pool, a distant rumbling far below told of her ship's engines flaring to life. She knew to savor the present, for the work to come would offer few such moments.
>>
File: Volume 2 - 4.jpg (1.75 MB, 1536x3072)
1.75 MB JPG
>>98338108
>At length, Inquisitor Larquin arose and made her way through labyrinthine chambers of marble and glass, until she stood before a vault door that no key could open. Extending one pallid limb, the archaeotech mechanism of a gene-coded lock reached out from its alcove to taste her blood, and with a pneumatic hiss, the door swung inwards.

>There, amidst a treasure trove of arcane tomes and priceless artifacts, lay an archive documenting an operation dating back more than two hundred years, to that fateful day when what had begun as the censure of a rogue Techpriestess suddenly erupted into a heresy so black that to even know of what had transpired threatened damnation. Thus did the case fall into the remit of the Ordo Redactus, and a century later, it was Amalia's own work to contain this heresy that had won her the prized promotion to Inquisitor.

>That this was the same heretek whose destruction she had announced to the Inquisitorial Conclave mere hours ago was a secret none must learn, and so the race was on to find a lasting solution before the undying horror that was Salafié arose once more. Somewhere among these documents, there must be an answer! And so the Inquisitrix returned to the beginning, opening a dossier that had sat undisturbed for a lifetime.

>"Salafié Al-Faiz: Born in 731.M41, youngest child of Lucien Al-Faiz, Baron of the fifth ring of Hydraphur, and an unidentified noblewoman." Amalia paged through documents referencing schemes for a political marriage, the mother abruptly departing mere weeks later when negotiations failed, leaving behind a bastard child before the Orders Famulous carefully censored all details of the affair. Amalia scowled only a moment, appreciating the irony that she of all people would object to secrecy.

>Her research was momentary interrupted by the sounds of armored shutters closing across the windows outside the vault as the ship's warp drive activated and the 'Oculus Occulta' slipped into the Immaterium.
>>
File: Volume 2 - 5.jpg (1.69 MB, 1536x3072)
1.69 MB JPG
>>98338118
>For hours, the Inquisitrix pored over depositions of servants and retainers who had known Salafié in her childhood. What emerged was a picture of a melancholy girl, bookish and distant: A friendless aristocrat content to while away the days alone in her quarters, gazing out at the shipyards beyond. Countless observations flagged as warning signs in retrospective reports, as if any could have foreseen what was to come.

>Brushing aside a stack of scrolls, Amalia uncovered a dusty portrait of a lithe young woman in the green and white livery of House Al-Faiz, silhouetted on a windowsill before the many-ringed forge world of Hydraphur. Long did she gaze upon the painting, shuddering involuntarily at the thought of what that girl would become a mere twenty years later.

>The Inquisitrix turned away, sweeping up a data-disc from among the papers and hurrying from the vault, past shuttered windows that flickered with the baleful energies of the Warp. Connecting the disc to a projector, a fragmentary recording of the old Baron's interrogation danced upon the far wall.

>"...no interest in suitors, not even from the best families. When she was sixteen, Sala announced to me that she wished to be inducted into the Adeptus Mechanicus. Can you believe it? I offered to buy her an officer's commission in the Navy, as I did her brothers, but her mind was made up. So strange, but such was the Emperor's will, I suppose. After that, I saw Sala but little. Holiday visits; Sanguinala and the like. She was so changed. Lively as never before. But I scarcely recognized her," the Baron sighed, "A part of me wonders if I ever truly knew my daughter."

>"Changed, you say?" the interrogator's voice came from off-screen, "Let us speak more of these changes."

>"Enough!" the Baron boomed, "Why do you persist, when I am told that my dear Sala is dead?"

>Amalia glanced up, watching as the interrogator drew close to the Baron.

>"Because, your Lordship, she did not stay dead."

You may be asking yourself
>"How did we end up here"
In short:
>Adventurers breached through the throne room's doors
>Saw Zarovain simmering in strawberry tea
>A clerk said walls were turning into dessert
>The sugar from the desserts was converted into yeast for the private wine cellar
>Zarovain decided to open up the barrel with wine fermenting for 1000 years
>The dwarf somehow, stole enough cheese to be considered a warcrime and stored it in his beard
>The dwarf was promptly shaved
>Discussion ensues about the shaved beard becoming a relic
>Zarovain goes fishing and opens up a fishing simulator on his laptop while he's at it
>Ends up in almost romancing a fish in the simulator
>Remembers he's married and throws the laptop in the lake
>Goes back to simmering in strawberry tea

OK I see now why those helmets make the AI do weird things.

Now I want more. Tieflings in spacesuits? Catgirls?
>>
>>98342184
The AI always has a hard time figuring out how extremities should interact with thing, particularly non-human extremities.
>Catgirls
Not the original Serena poster but I do have her prompt saved. Got a couple where her ears clipped through the helmet but for the most part ChatGPT behaved itself.

NTA but "bubble helmet" is generally the way to go.

Also helps to say "bubble helmet that completely encases [feature]" (horns, ponytail, etc).

Oh yes, of course. For >>98342336, after a couple failures I added
>bubble helmet that encompasses her ears
And that seemed to solve the problem.
Also, I got a lot of "image generation failed" messages tonight. Not the usual content warnings, just image failed. Anyone else who uses gpt getting those?
>>
>>98342375
Not today, but I haven't used it all that much. The one I get most commonly is "we detected that this activity may be a scam or fraudlent", which is a bullshit error for a paid account.
>>
>>98342375
Yes, I got a couple of those when making >>98341446

Which would suggest that it's just an error, since there's nothing lewd or gory about a spaceship.
>>
>>98342381
I've never seen that one. What kind of pics are you making that are getting blocked with that message?
>>
>>98342415
Nothing in particular, usually campaign stuff when I need scenes, character images, or making edits to its fuckups. It's probably when I'm hitting it with a lot of requests in a day, or concurrent requests.

I hadn't posted here in a while. This campaign that I was playing with my self-insert character who was a paranormal investigator/action hero ended. I actually ended up getting killed, (oddly enough, I got killed by another character building a harem.) :\

This is the harem I ended up building. It actually went really well while it lasted. Might have to start over again and run a whole new campaign using a similar ruleset.

>Daemons eat their souls!
Cursing quietly, Celia kicked a nearby stool which tumbled across the room and broke a leg. Once again she'd been relentlessly attacked all day by the rich high elves in class and now believing she'll need to pay for a new stool was too much for her. The final straw broken, tears began to fall.

The clattering noise in the prep room beside him alerted Sunblaze to Celia’s presence, so he made his way over. He was going to jump into his questions immediately, but after seeing the state she was in, he closed the door and with a professional demeanor consoled her before explaining the situation with the note. As he did so, he watched her slowly transition into a gleam of fanaticism. Jumping forward she grasped his breastplate pulling herself close up again before responding in an intense bare whisper.
>You'll both need to blend in so dirty up and bring a lot of coin. I'll meet you outside the inn at midnight.

Celia leaned against the dimly lit post as she waited. She'd spent a few minutes repairing the magical light when she'd arrived, mostly for her own safety, and was now watching the Inn. Carrying a scrivener mark was too easy to lift to carry it everywhere, so she might as well use it tonight while she had it with her. She carefully suppressed a laugh as she watched Blommand headbutt 3 men out the door.
>Dumb fish.
She whispered as they picked themselves up just in time as she saw her two high elf companions approaching.
-
Mostly pausing to see what they do for outfits. They'll be lead into the private room from before which has a magical lock. They'll be told its also dampened so no noise goes in or out when locked.

>>

Create an ultra-detailed top-down satellite-style view of a large medieval elven city enclosed within imposing stone walls. The city has existed for centuries and clearly displays layers of planned growth built over older districts. Architectural styles, road layouts, and neighborhood organization visibly reflect differences in wealth, social status, and civic planning.

At the heart of the city stands a massive academy complex that dominates the skyline. The academy includes multiple interconnected buildings, courtyards, gardens, lecture halls, observatories, and an enormous library that serves as one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Wide avenues radiate outward from the academy, connecting it to the city's most important districts.

The inner city is highly organized and prosperous. Roads are broad, straight, and carefully planned. Distinct commercial, professional, governmental, and residential districts are clearly visible. Buildings are well maintained, densely developed, and arranged according to a coherent urban plan. Market squares, workshops, guild halls, temples, administrative buildings, and affluent residences fill these neighborhoods.

Near the outer walls, city planning becomes less structured. Streets narrow and curve unpredictably as generations of expansion created increasingly crowded neighborhoods. Buildings are packed closer together, with irregular property lines and winding alleyways.

Cont.
>>
>>98345859
The southeastern section of the city contains a notorious district known as the Warrens. This impoverished neighborhood is characterized by deteriorating wooden and stone buildings, cheap boarding houses, rundown taverns, gambling dens, pawn shops, warehouses, cramped apartments, and neglected courtyards. Streets form a confusing maze of twisting lanes, dead ends, narrow passages, and hidden alleys. Dirt, debris, refuse piles, broken carts, abandoned market stalls, makeshift repairs, clotheslines, storage sheds, and signs of illicit activity are visible throughout the district. Most structures are poorly maintained residential buildings crowded together in a chaotic pattern.
Select a random location within the city and zoom in to an extremely detailed top-down battle-map scale view. The chosen area should accurately reflect the characteristics of where two neighborhoods meet with the cities outer wall visible. Buildings are depicted as if their roofs have been completely removed, revealing fully furnished interiors. Every room contains appropriate furniture, tools, decorations, storage, personal belongings, and occupational equipment. Streets, courtyards, gardens, workshops, stables, kitchens, taverns, bedrooms, storage rooms, and public spaces should contain realistic clutter and environmental storytelling.

The image should resemble a professional tabletop roleplaying game map, rendered with exceptional architectural detail and urban realism. Overlay the entire scene with a clean grid of 1-inch dotted squares for measuring movement and distance. The grid should remain clearly visible without obscuring the underlying artwork.

Your post just made me think of an interesting question. How far does everyone think we are away from peak slop? Now I dont mean the best slop ever. I mean the highest usage of slop for the purpose of fun. Ai image gen is going to keep rising in a professional environment tv and video games, but I think we'll shortly see a drop or leveling off in the number of people generating images for essentially fun. I know I've seen it in the area I live. Everyone did it for a while but quickly realized it has more to it than "I want a dog playing basketball" if you want it to be anything more than a fancy fidget spinner, so almost everyone stopped.

Here on /slop/, I'd say we already passed that point a while ago. There's only about half as many regulars posters here now as there were at the peak of Bing's rollout of Dall-E 3.

The nearly unlimited number of free gens it offered, combined with its extremely fast gen time, 4-image batch output, short prompt length, and tendency to hallucinate heavily gave it a bit of the addictive quality of a casino slot machine. There was a sort of mindless entertainment value in re-running a prompt a bunch of times to see all the wacky different things it would produce.

You just don't get that so much with the new higher quality models that work slowly and are pretty reliably adherent to the specific language of the prompt. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it lets you make much more complex images, but it does make the process of slopping more like work than casual entertainment.
>>
>>98346388
To add to what you're saying, sometimes it would be fun to just repeat a prompt just to see what variants you got. Or sometimes it would hallucinate something but get 90% right and you're resubmitting because each time it does the other 10% right, it does something else wrong.
Or sometimes it was fun to put in vague prompts just to see what it would come up with. This was from late 2023, and the prompt in its entirety is the filename.

The thing I liked about old Bing was that it could accidentally generate things that were almost indescribable in their complexity.

I bulk generated something like 50 weird 40k-adjacent spaceships back in the day, and I still routinely feed these old pics into GPT as references when I'm making a pic set in space.
