>constantly (!) interrupts players and DM
>can't shut his fucking mouth
>ugly as sin
>dandruff
>plays an obnoxious character that fucks up any planning cause "he's just that crazy"
>makes shitty internet and political jokes
>laughs loudly at bad rolls of other players
>announces to become a regular

I thought people like that were only a myth.
It was a nice campaign up until now, I guess.

Who the fuck just lets random people insert themselves into an ongoing campaign?

it's kind of an open table with a core group

Congratulations! You've discovered why open tables are kinda shit. You get the dregs that would quickly get banished from a normal table.

Gee, if only you could get rid of a player you don't want and disrupts the game... man, if only it took three sentences to handle...

Yes. Just allow NPCs and players to react realistically to the players actions. Incompatible character/players/actions soon get weeded out if they have to face the repercussions of their actions.

>During the funeral of an important noble/king, a character lets rip a loud fart and laughs - the relatives/guards sieze the farter and stick him in the town stocks for a week.
>A thief pickpockets another character - when discovered, the thief is apprehended and his hand cut off.
>A cowardly fighter runs from a battle and endangers the others - the survivors/commander hangs him from a tree until dead as a warning to others.
> Wacky Bard punches the Goblin King in the ballsack for lols - The Goblin king's guards subdue him and torture him to death.
>Necromancer is caught digging up graves and looting the corpses of loved ones - he is burnt at the stake by a rabid mob.

If the player keeps doing stupid inappropiate quotes to ruin the mood that you or the players are trying to create, just have the quote overheard by a gigantic and extremely violent quantum barbarian stood just behind him, that thinks the quote was an insult directed at him and proceeds to beat the character to a bloody pulp. Have it happen EVERY time and they will quickly shut up.
>>
>>98342791
i agree that the op is being dumb but your generic comment is always the stupidest one imaginable, it's like someone is complaining mold is growing on their ceiling and your response is "just burn the house down, this is so easy, why are you so stupid you can't think of this yourself"

>fucks up any planning

Nothing worse than wasting an hour of precious game time pointlessly debating how you're going to clear out orcs out of a room or something when everyone knows damn well the plan will go out the window once the arrows and spells are flying. Based.

>makes shitty internet and political jokes

Wants to bond with his new friends by rehashing classic jokes and beloved references. Based.

>laughs loudly at bad rolls of other players

Defuses tense situations with humor. It's just a game after all. Based.

Yeah OP is an angry controlling passive-aggressive fag. I wish I had players like that, then we’d actually get through a dungeon a session. People like this fool themselves into thinking that their silent seething and passive-aggression makes them a “good person” because being totally spineless means you’ll never commit the cardinal sin of social faux pas.

>>98342866
>>98342877
Yes use the game to condition. It’s not that hard.
>>
>>98340219
sounds like you got mogged, sucks to suck bitch
>>
>>98343174
no, it isn't like that at all. what it's actually like is when there's player ruining the game, so you remove them from the game, and everyone continues enjoying the game. hope this helps.

Buy soap
>>
>>98342866
no, you just tell him he's ruining the game, and if he can't be bothered to act like a human being, then you can't be bothered to provide him with free entertainment. if he refuses to change and refuses to leave, simply kill him.
>>
>>98344257
>he’s ruining the game
I would rather have a loud player that I can work with than a passive aggressive seether mad and ruining the vibe
>>
>>98344238
>it's not like that at all, it's exactly like that
kay
>>
>>98344280
Right, that's why you remove the player who was ruining the game instead of being passive aggressive. Were you not paying attention?
>>
>>98344294
No, those two things are completely different, obviously.

I can only assume based on tone and what little context we have that OP is being overdramatic

>>98344998
Both are good, do both. But if you’re gonna have a table with unexplained and unspoken expectations in a hobby full of autists you’re being kind of retarded to expect to never have friction. I.e. tell the player to stop talking out of character so much, and then also within the game enforce the in-game consequences of that.
>>
>>98345475
>Both are good, do both.
No, I reject your premise.

>But if you’re gonna have a table with unexplained and unspoken expectations
That's what the tried and true "talking to your players" approach is for. You can do it upfront with a session zero (which /tg/ also used to advocate for sometimes) or only after problems arise. Your choice.

>expect to never have friction.
If you're collaborating with others there will be friction. Autism or not.

>within the game enforce the in-game consequences of that.
Weak and passive-aggressive. Learn2boot problem players.
>>
>>98345475
>Both are good, do both.
Relatively minor faux paus and such things where it's not horrifically disruptive to everyone to deal with, it's good to have the consequences strictly in game. When you get to "making a character unplayable/they must be killed for this mistake," you really should be talking instead because at that point there's some fundamental misunderstandings that aren't going to be cleared up by going "You get dragged into an alley and lynched" half an hour later.

I've had games with gms who try to keep it all in-game and what often happens is you end up wasting the entire group's time for a public humiliation ritual where the offending player might not even get what the deal is. If they can't get it after you speak plainly, then they get the boot instead of wasting everyone's time arranging and describing how they die or whatever.
>>
>>98345083
lol retard
>>
>>98345475
No, you may not assume that.
>>
>>98345475
No. Both are not good. Exactly one is good.
>>
>>98345542
No it isn't. Talk to your players.
>>

there you go, you now see why your idea is retarded
>>

nope you're retarded lol

>they get the boot
While I don’t disagree with the post in general, what I’m critiquing is the seething about one’s players. It indicates to me that the OP is less some mature individual who is exasperated with some that guy, and more that OP himself is a different kind of guy that can make a social circle unfun, namely, the self-righteous moderator. Maybe it’s because I’ve had the privilege of having a consistent friendgroup where people voluntarily DM their own campaigns from time to time, but as a DM I’ve never liked the whole attitude that players are ungrateful bastards you’re performing a service for. Rather, when I DM it’s because I love doing it, and I’m grateful for when my players engage with my campaigns attentively. When I have a problem, or I see they’re struggling, I go to them and talk to them, and/or I work improvements into my sessions. There’s a big maturity gap beyond honest conflict resolution and just being mad at people who are trying to spend time with you. Getting all puffed up and whining on 4chan to talk yourself into booting someone before a good faith effort to critically examine things and handle it is the type of conflict resolution that is all too common in nerd spaces. You can be a janny if you want, and have an adversarial relationship with the rest of the table, but things will always be a bit less fun for it.
>>
>>98342553
You're supposed to never stop using it.
>>
>>98346419
lol shut up bitch
>>
>>98340265
Can I interest you in a starter course on gatekeeping your spaces?
Since they closed down the asylums, any "open" circle becomes a place for these sort of people to *express* themselves.
