Welcome to Mecha Monday! Here we dedicate ourselves to mecha RPGs, wargames, and boardgames alike. Here we start games, tell campaign stories, share resources & assets, and seek advice for our games and homebrew.Assorted Mecha Goodness:https://pastebin.com/E2wi55AZEmbryo Machine Translation:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1r_cjOLuUp3HussVRhbQYU3G0zK6hwy1rLancehounds Homebrew:M3g4 folder/eMEBUbCL#kj2FRrlqTa-02U16XpnVRgPrevious Thread: >>98247791Question of the Thread: Favorite mecha redesign?Thread Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuvSns9H-FI
>>98346561>TQI really like MWO's iteration of the Marauder 2. Which is good, because I really didn't like how they did the Marauder 1. The big gun should be on the center.I like when mechs have a defining weapon.
How big do you usually make your mechas?
>>98346664Gundam's "ten times the height of a man" is about my limit, big enough to be giant robots but small enough to still be able to interact with humans and human-scale environments.
Question for the mechheads: what's your favourite ruleset for playing mech games?I find battletech to be a lot of fiddly squeeze for very little juice. Titanicus was great but more evocative of supermassive 'landships' than mechs.I've got gamma wolves, which seems a bit autistic, and mac attack, which looks fun but might have overcorrected the simplicity, however I haven't gotten either of them on the table yet.Any recommendations?
>>9834666410 - 13 meters for the "average" mecha, 15 - 18 for a big one, and around 25 meters max for something that's supposed to be gigantic. Going bigger than that makes it hard for the mechs and non-mech vehicles and humans to meaningfully interact, while anything smaller than 10 meters is a mechalet.
>>98346607The thing that always get is just how FASA/CGL seemed to see the over the Marauder's turret position. Every time they had an excuse to move it to the RT on art, from Phoenix revival reworking to early Shad art for CGL, the fanbase immediately complains about it and they switch back. It's like, if they cared that much they could've just had the turret be an AC/2 instead of an AC/5 to fit into the CT and raise the armor up to 13.5 tons. There, easy way to match the art they willingly based the Marauder on.
>>98346664I always thought Gunbuster and Ideon were roughly the same size but I guess not. Feels like they should be, since I'm pretty sure Gunbuster having a Zeon-style monoeye was a reference to Ideon having a GM face.
>>98347882I feel ya. Battletech is way too slow to be fun, while Mac Attack feels simultaneously too simple and abstract in a pretentious way.My current go-to is Flames of Orion. It's more of a Mordheim-meets-mecha in the way it plays, from the battlefield to the campaign system. The matches are quick and gruesome, the heat mechanic works well and explosions can be really fun when they inevitably happen. The campaign has you gaining credits, parts and pilot upgrades, you can also get your units damaged or even destroyed. All in all, the whole experience feels a lot like the PS1 Front Mission games, which is exactly the kind of flavour I was looking for. The game encourages kit bashing and homebrewing if you're into that, and the example campaign works well as a starting point to make your own. There are some mini expansion's that add extra equipment and options such as playing with mostly infantry guerrilla units, they come in three-fold pamphlet format and I just think that's neat.
>>98347882I play battletech all the time and it's probably the worst game I've ever played. It's excessively random and the amount of time spent resolving individual events is not in line with the significance of the individual events and tge system never, ever going to get any substantive improvement. It scales so badly its not funny. Anyway I'll be playing on Thursday.
>>98348312Thanks! I looked it up and it definitely looks to be worth a buy.
>>98348949There's a free version that's only missing some art, lore and the example campaign, if you're inclined to take a look at it.
Anybody knows a good systems that uses HG scale gundams and 10/6mm miniatures?
>>98346561
>>98350349That's a question I've been wondering myself for ages
>>98347882You could try out Heavy Gear Blitz. Its not as complex as BT but it is closer to Alpha Strike. Regardless its got some meat to it.
>>98346607Really? I'm not that big on that one or the current plastic sculpt. The wings are a big part of it>>98348103Because the AC/2 fucking sucks. Even the AC/5 in 3025-tech is barely usable
What system would you use for a Fire Emblem/Game of Thrones inspired fantasy mecha game? I want the tone to be like Battletech where the mecha are handed down family lineages and act almost as badges of nobility. I don't know how to explain bandits yet, but I'll figure it out.
>>98350349There used to be some website back in the early '00s that had one loosely based on 40k rules, but I forget what it was called.
>>98356830On that note, is there a Five Star Stories RPG? Seems like a setting that lends itself well to one.
>>98356830Wares Blade
>>98357092The art is nice, but how is it as a system? Someone in a previous thread said it was very janky.
>>98356153ACs are supposed to suck, at least back then. Original BT there was only one kind of AC, which would become the AC/5. The other ACs came along in later editions.
>>98346561>TQWhile I did not enjoy a good chunk of Yamato 2202, I thought the redesigns and new inclusions for the Gatlantis Empire were pretty nice>>98350349>>98352073If you want ultra simple I recommend MS Era. You just need d6s and chopsticks (instead of a tape measure) http://www.ironhands.com/MSera.htmIf you want something still fast but less simple and more lethal check out MechaStellar. Currently roster includes Mobile Suit Gundam to Char's Counterattack, plus G, Wing, X, Turn A, and SEED. Also includes options for small units like Jets, Tanks, etc. There's a major gameplay update coming in August which will make the game faster. Also Gundam 00 is dropping either SEP or OCT.https://mechastellar.com/game-downloads/
>>98357506August will be the VER11 UpdateThis one is going to remove Rapid Fire from weapons, probably the last vestige of 40k rules we had.In it's place each weapon will have a battlefield role with a unique critical effect. Machine guns have high volume of fire, and can suppress enemies penalizing movement. Bazookas are siege weapons that will blow up cover and force more armor saves. Sniper weapons are extra effective against units without Cover. Also Warships are becoming easier to use, and are a lot more worthwhile on the battlefield than before.
>>98348312>Flames of Orionchecking this out, I need a good mech combat system for homebrewing purposes, thx for the recommendation
>>98352067>camouf, rick dijeh and gundam lindwurm hg neverso sad
>>98347882Seconding Heavy Gear Blitz. The wargame is fun as fuck, combined arms done right. RPG's nice too>a lot of fiddly squeeze for very little juiceI very much get what you're saying. I gave it multiple tries but on the umpteenth cluster hit roll, my brain just kept screaming "I can have the *exact* same fun while spending far less time with multiple other systems"
>>98358070You WILL only get pbandai sculpts and you WILL be happy
>>98346561>TQnothing from gqux, that's for sure
>>98346607>PGI Maurader Is pure fucking sex and you are a fucking moron. The PGI Maurader looks like a AH-64 on legs, while the og looks like a hot turd and the CGL looks like a Archer put in a car crusher. The turret dosen't look like a ballistic weapon, it looks like a Warhammer PPC mount thrown on top. The PGI Maurader's casemate makes far more sense than a turret that DOUBLES the target profile of the mech, and complicates and adds vulnerability to a design that was considered "revolutionary". If the CGL Maurader was ported to MWO it would be one of the worst mechs, with it's stupid flagpole weapon mount and cockpit that BEGS fire to be put there. In addition the PGI Maurader is the biggest middle finger to Harmony Gold, outright stating that Battletech can make superior designs than Macross.
>>98347882>>98348312>>98348364Alpha Strike solves most of these issues, but be warned you will catch flak from BT nerds who think it's acceptable to spend 45 minutes per phase (not turn, PHASE) and never run anything above lance vs lance.
>>98348103>basing your gameplay mechanics on art THAT ISN'T EVEN YOUR OWNThat is the biggest downfall of Battletech if the OG Maurader followed the exact loadout of the Galug from macross it would be packing 2 PPC's, 2 snub nose PPC's, a ERPPC, and 2 small lasers. This doesn't even cover the batshit insane jump capabilities and speed the Galug has, which again is terrible game design.
>>98361695Best I could do was:>Full Clantech >2 CERPPC, 2 SNUB PPC, 1 each per arm>1 CERLL in CT>6 IJJ + PW for 7 speed to at least try to honor "batshit insane jump capabilities and speed the Galug has">Max FF armor>Endosteel frame>Clan XXL Engine>62 heat for 27 total cooling(12 DHS + PW cooling), so alpha striking is definitely not recommended It's nowhere near the Glaug, but it was an attempt
>>98361113Wake me when P-Bandai put out a Zaku Flipper
>>98361380Marauder has exposed weapon linkage, making the CLG design more accurate. Which you would know if you actually played tabletop games.
>>98361614Thing is, Alpha Strike simply took the abstraction too far, to a point it loses what BT 'is'.
>>98346561RIP
>DP9 not at otakuthon this yearDamn I wanted to see em there.Maybe I pull up to their place nearby.
Call me impressionable but the new gits has gotten me in the mood to play some kind of mini-mech/appleseed/power armor type game. I have a couple ideas for the interlok/fuzion system but was wondering, there any other systems that handle that sort of mecha?
>>98375695Cyberpunk 2077(2020?) had a power armor module that people really liked.
>>98375695Lots of cyberpunk systems have mini-mecha, usually because they've lifted it from Appleseed. Metalhead, Infinity 2d20, etc. Even SLA Industries technically has them, though they seem to be avoiding Thresher now, and never gave them PC stats.>>98376044I thought the general fan response to Maximum Metal was to confine it to its own playground because of how much it warped the power scale, so it got fuck-all use.
I like the techno barbarian Roman larp thing Venide had in ACVD. Actually, I find all three factions to be pretty interesting.
>>98376463Players loved using Maximum Metal which is why a lot of GMs banned it
>>98346561Years ago I've read that Spelljammer had some playable mecha module. I couldn't find it then. Now that I've remembered it again, don't even know where to start looking. Any ideas? Some random Anon that knows exactly what I'm talking about conveniently browsing this thread right now? Did I just dream that up? The only thing I found is this short thread on some other site (https://pandius.ix.iq.pl/WotC/887666.htm), where Doom Striders are mentioned but it's not setting specific.
>>98386403I don't remember 2E SJ ever having rules specifically for mecha other than the MC entry for a̶u̶r̶a̶ ̶b̶a̶t̶t̶l̶e̶r̶ spirit warrior. Must've been a third-party product.
>>98386721>a̶u̶r̶a̶ ̶b̶a̶t̶t̶l̶e̶r̶ spirit warriorHuh, maybe it was that. I do vaguely remember it being Dunbine flavored.
>>98386800Yeah, that's the one. Seems like Dunbine was weirdly popular in niche anime fandom circles in English-speaking countries in the 90s as THE mecha anime for a while. Remember when Spawn did that weird Manga Spawn action figure line and Spawn himself was an Aura Battler? Then Gundam Wing and Evangelion got dubbed around the same time and, well, that was that.
>>98387020>Seems like Dunbine was weirdly popular in niche anime fandom circles in English-speaking countries in the 90s as THE mecha anime for a while. It is a solid one, one of my favorites too. And magical mecha fantasy is a rather sparse as a genre.>Remember when Spawn did that weird Manga Spawn action figure line and Spawn himself was an Aura Battler? Not really, wasn't exactly a thing where I'm from. Or maybe I just missed it somehow, since I never was all that much into superhero stuff. Going by a cursory search, seems pretty cool. Assuming this is what you're referring to.
What heavy gear is the sexiest?
>>98386800>>98387020Most of the anime references in the Spelljammer MC's were contributed by Newton Ewell, who was doing it specifically to get people interested in anime. So you also have the 2E versions of the Guyver, Gamera & Shurato (which was really popular in JP at the time).
>>98346664I'm a 4-6m VOTOMS / Heavy Gear fan myself. I like it when it feels as if the machinery can interact with human and car scale infrastructure (ducking under a pedestrian overpass, taking cover behind an ordinary building) and still have to worry to some degree about infantry. If they get too big I feel like they sort of get too abstract and just stride over/through buildings and don't fit on roads or care if they get shot by infantry weaponry.
>>98363093Alpha strike feels like a 28mm battle armor game.
>>98391403Cobras reign supreme
>>98391403Speaking of asps how do they play on the table? I'm writing a list and cannot decide on if it should have a bunch of asps as a screen/shield to protect thew more important combat groups, or use those points for a fast attack group.
>>98361380>outright stating that Battletech can make superior designs than Macross. But it isnt? It's got stumpy arms and an awkward cannon.>>98356153>The wings are a big part of itIt makes a lot of paint schemes pop
>>98361614>you will catch flak from BT nerds who think it's acceptable to spend 45 minutes per phase (not turn, PHASE) and never run anything above lance vs lanceWow, sounds like you just suck at the game. This game was liveposted on /btg/ and ran to completion in one day from 1000 to 1700.
>>98394769>I like it when it feels as if the machinery can interact with human and car scale infrastructure (ducking under a pedestrian overpass, taking cover behind an ordinary building)You can atleast somewhat do this up to about 12 meters, like a Macross VF is only as tall as a jet fighter is long. Though once you get to Gundam height, I feel like it becomes the point that you aren't worried about infastructure or infantry
>>98396896>7 hour gameI could run like two sessions of any other game in that time, maybe 3.
>>98397349>watching the final episode of Dunbine this Saturday after watching it for almost half a yearIt's felt like a real journey, I enjoy how unique the setting felt. And it explored angles that most isekais really don't even attempt to address. But I can't help but feel it shys short of 0079.
Since this seems like one of the few places where people like Heavy Gear. What's it about besides being like Votoms?
>>98398134It's probably one of the 'hardest' mecha games out there. Heavy focus on combined arms with the Gears being the star of the show but still combined with tanks, aircraft and infantry. Detailed descriptions/explanations of computer chips, alloy science and combat comms in older books. If you want your mecha game to be as hard as possible in its realism, Heavy Gear is what you want, if BattleTech isn't enough.
>>98397370Dunbine is great and it gets better with a rewatch. It meanders a bit like a lot of Tomino stories but I honestly enjoy that. And the characters behave exactly like how you expect from a bunch of selfish power hungry would-be kings. The series has no end of amazing designs, I'm quite partial to the Botune myself
>>98396896if a game can't be played to conclusion in under an hour then it's shit nobody has time for some boomer game taking 5 hours or whatever
>>98398314A lot of great designs. Though to be honest, I expected more from Tod Guinness. I felt like they were teasing him to be more, but he wasn't. But he's neither the first nor last Tomino character to do that.
>>98396896>7 hour gamethis isn't the flex you think it ishonestly just use Alpha Strike if you're going to flood the table with models that's the whole point of the ruleset.
>>98361614I've run a combined arms Battalion in classic Battletech, and it's the only time I've taken more than 20 minutes per turn. Typically we can do a 12.5kbv combined arms company level game in 2 - 3 hours. Paper record sheets. No Box of Death.I suggest getting good and sucking less.
>>98400344>I suggest getting good and sucking less.I hope the battletech rules team follow your advice.
>>98400344>suggest getting good and sucking less.ok boomerplease die already
>>98400518correct response>>98400842faggot response
Hey, could someone please post an invite to the adeva discord? Yeah, the dead one.
>>98398615Same, I got Dunbine's story piecemealed via SRW before I watched the anime so I was also expecting more out of Todd Guiness.I think there were a lot of ways his story could have unfolded, but Tomino went with Bern Burnings as Shou's final adversary, and so Todd got relegated to second fiddle.Even so, he's a lot more likeable than Zeta's Jerid Mesa with both having a very similar character trajectory
>>98401410Isn't it sort of a running joke in SRW games that Todd is somehow aware of how badly he got screwed over in the anime and has a big inferiority complex about it?
>>98398207Does it have the VOTOMS things where the Gears are as common as surplus Jeeps after WW2 and everyone and their mother can get one?
>>98400518If it where up to me, CGL would lose the license and someone whom actually cared about the game and how it is played would take over. Alpha Strike would become a secondary product, more something that got the occasional update but was largely left alone, and CBT would receive all the new product and releases, with AS having some incidental stuff in the form of unit cards being included in the boxes. The rules would not be simplified, and the 'Asset Cards' would be consigned to the bin and their rules removed. I might consider retaining the Air and Artillery strikes, for PUG's and to simplify stuff for large events that lack a dedicated veteran core.>>98400842Im no boomer. Its not my fault that your brain is too rotted by instant gratification and doom scrolling to engage in something that requires even a modicum of effort, but I do with you ADHD riddled screenslaves would hang yourselves now, or get out of my hobby. I am sick of rulesets being simplified to cater to your lot because you claim to want in but refuse to actually engage and demand established systems be destroyed to cater to your tiny smooth brain.
speaking of battletech what are these rumblings i hear about "massive rule changes invalidating 40 years of rulebooks"?
>>98402228You can just keep using the old full rules for vehicles. They just realized there's a huge chunk of the rules that's fairly complex and wildly unbalanced and it turned out even most of the audience that wanted to use them wasn't bothering. Battletech is already the worlds most complex mechfight boardgame and no one wants to learn an entire expansions worth of rules to bring some extras..
>>98402008Not quite. There are a lot of Gears but maintaining them requires a lot of work. So some duelist/gladiator out in the Badlands could get a decent Gear out of a junk yard but will need a full team of technicians and a decent supply of money to pay them just to get the Gear in working condition.>>98402285They're coming out with a new edition that's changing a few things. That's it.
>>98402228>CGL would lose the license and someone whom actually cared about the game and how it is played would take over. There is nobody who would do that. Every single company who isn't CGL would drop the old rules and change them to be more fast playing and more marketable and to create a walled ecosystem to maximize their revenue.CGL is a 100% shit company. They're also the only company who can be trusted to even try to keep Battletech as the game that it is.
>>98402285>what are these rumblings i hear about "massive rule changes invalidating 40 years of rulebooks"?Basically fake news. No Mech sheets are being changed. No sourcebooks are being retconned. They're making a new rulebook, yes, and the total number of rules changes totals about 2 pages worth of change log, and almost every single one is "this item works slightly differently". Some got buffed. Some got nerfed. Some rules were clearly fixed to be less shit, like initiative. Some things got removed and I'm mad about it, like skidding or "direction of fall", but ultimately losing those things aren't such a huge deal that the game is ruined because of it. MOST things are a line item change, like "this thing gets +1 to hit instead of +0", or "this sort of critical hit gives you a +3 to piloting rolls instead of a +2".The only people screaming about the rules changes invalidating old material are the terminally online doomers who make money off of outrage clickbait and/or who have a personal axe to grind against CGL, specifically. You can tell because they're bitching about the abstracted vehicle and aero asset rules, about which CGL has specifically and REPEATELY said they are going to release the full rules in a future book and to just use the current full vehicle and aerospace rules until the future book comes out, if you don't want to use asset rules. There's no reason to bitch about these whatsoever, unless you're just click or updoot farming.
>>98402782Also "someone whom actually cared about the game and how it is played would take over" is very frequently just going to be an ascended fanboy who now gets to play with all his favorite toys. Battletech has been pretty solid about no retcons and keeping things a little shrouded in mystery and hearsay that lets players reasonably do what they want.Otherwise you get "uh and then clan marmoset turned around and blew up the planet that all quadmechs are made on and killed every scientist who knew how to make them and burnt all their writing so they could never ever ever come back!" type of spiteful fiat.
>>98401410I like Jerid. He was a jobber, but a really fun one.
I've been playing around with that Dragonmech inspired game, and I've been having a lot of fun fluffing out the galley mechs. There's just something gritty and cool about the idea of a bunch of guys pushing a capstan to spin up a crude flywheel that keeps the mech moving.
How would you feel about an extremely rules lite mech game? Something inspired by lasers and feelings and only slightly more complex?
>>98407436I'm not opposed to rules lite games conceptually, but for mech games specifically I feel like they should be super crunchy
>>98402008Civvie Gears are very much a thing
Why have some of the gears and vehicles in HG been in use for centuries? I know a cycle is less than a year but it's still a considerable amount of time some of these units have been in service for. And I don't think the setting has technological stagnation as a reason like battletech does, does it?
>>98410396If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
>>98409266On top of construction and professional duelling, there's also a bunch of gears used in the racing circuit, most notably all the buttwheel designs. Not to mention some luxury sedan models that get a couple of mentions.
>>98410396They're pretty much taking modern trends into extremes, given how vehicles like the B-52 irl keep getting their service life extended. Also, it's in the nature of some gears to be intrinsically durable.
>>98401583Pretty much yea, but most SRW games take the route of [popular villain] is now your ally. Still it's fun, so for me I stuck Todd in the Sirbine most recently.>>98404769He's a great foil for Kamille and shows how divergent ways grow both as characters and as NewtypesHim trading out the Byarlant for the Baund Doc was pretty lame though (same for Todd trading out the Vierres for the Wryneck)
>>98410396>>98410396In general, Terra Novan tech is supposed to be 'rugged and durable'. It's a planetwide thing. They may push in revisions and updates, but as the other guy said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.The Age of Isolation probably had a big part in that as well.
>>98411780>Baund DocIt's a shame that the Baund Doc got such a visual downgrade. Kobayashi's original design was pue kino.
>>98407436What makes it a mech game, though, as opposed to some generic sci fi? To bill it as a "mech game" there has to be some mechanics backing that up. Give some examples of what you think might work
>>98411780I assumed they went with the Wryneck because they wanted Todd to end with a mech more visually similar to the dunbine. But even then, I'd rather a custom inbetween of the Vierres and the Wryneck because I came to identify Todd with the dual-Axes.But as far as Jerid? I really can't say. The Baund Doc isn't very fitting for his personality. And it was made more for new-types, which he hardly was outside of his petty hatred for Kamille. Especially when the Byarlant was the only mech he got good results with post-Jaburo
>>98407436So do you mean rules-lite by mecha standards (Battle Century), or actually rules-lite? Regardless I would reccomend then reading up on Battle Century S then for inspiration. As it's effectively a rules-lite take on Battle Century G that's designed for theatre-of-mind combat.I prefer Battle Century G Remastered. It has more options and I love battlemaps
>>98411649
>>98356996Probably the Mobile Suit Gundam Battle System. Homebrew game based on 40k. The leddit hasn't had a new post in almost a decade; but there's a small group doing an update to correct the errors and balance gameplay a bit. Melee is still a bit too stacked; but that's just holdover from the 5th edition roots of the game and there might be some easy tweaks with reducing attack numbers to bring them in line with shooting. Its still being playtested atm.
>>98417382I thought it was based on (the better) MESBG?
>>98419148Not sure, the original version uses a good chunk of 5th edition 40k stuff, including the scatter weapons rules, melee being a bit cracked and even the stat lines looking like they came out of 5th. Also, their Gdoc's have updates using editions of 40k from 6th through 8th edition; but it's all chaos to try to use with their original book. I've never heard of the MESBG, myself. Got a link to it?
>>98413547The Dragon's Heaven OG version is top tier for me>>98415326It's an interesting mech progressionJerid starts with the MK II and Todd with the DunbineJerid gets the Gabthley while Todd bounces around, then we get to the Byarlant and Vierres, top tier antagonist mechs. The Byarlant and Vierres have similar design cues and the dual wielding was awesome as an antagonistI guess Tomino wanted to show them getting hand-me down Mechs with the Baund Doc and Wryneck to showcase how they're no longer the main rival for Kamille / Shou, just a has-been>>98417382Honestly 40k is a pretty good fit for Gundam, S vs T, fail your Armor Save and then turn into a pink explosion. A high T Gundam can weather S3 or S4 attacks but a high S bazooka can still potentially take it down. Downside of course is 40k doesn't really do "dodging" and the d6 generally limits you to +/- 1 on modifiers. Haven't played it but I'm curious if their version of Newtype does something besides "You have Ballistic Skill -1 when attacking a Newtype target"
>>98417382Also, love that Gelgoog Jaeger, is that yours?
>>98346561Any chances for picrel to get an english translation?
>>98420196There are rules for Char and Amuro that takes advantage of their newtype powers in the form of an invulnerable save. 4+ if i remember correctly. There aren't any rules for regular armor saves in the book which definitely helps keep games shorter.
>>98420205Yeah, it's one of my earlier paint jobs. It's my retarded interpretation of a zaku 2 paint job i saw online.
>>98419357check /gwsg/
>>98358070If they ever rebooted the Bawoo I'd be happy
>>983466648.7m feels too small for Legioss, and 20m feels too big for L-Gaim.
>>98422339Mb, I'm retarded. I've known about the Middle-Earth system for years; but only ever followed it back in the LotR days of the early 00's and just called it that back then. That all said, yes the very first version of the MSGBS did use the ~05 MESBG rulebook. That version was later improved upon with a much more comprehensive one that incorporated more mobile suits, rules, character progression and named characters. It's still chaos though which is what prompted the most recent rework and edit attempt.
>>98422359>The monkey paw curls>Bandai announces the all-new Bawoo (GQ); it looks like shit.
>>98422870What about Grimgerde and Gundam Flauros (or should I say Ryusei-Go?) kits then? I'd be fine with something like 30MM too.
>>98420196>I guess Tomino wanted to show them getting hand-me down Mechs with the Baund Doc and Wryneck to showcase how they're no longer the main rival for Kamille / Shou, just a has-beenThe get that for Jerrid. But for Todd it just felt weird since he already did the exact same gimmick better with Ban Bunnings. Dude started strong and then fell behind all the other pilots hard midway into the series while Todd's skill grew with Sho throughout. That and Todd straight up had a more interesting backstory to work with. Seeing as Todd was connected to both upper earth and other characters whill Van really didn't have any other supporting characters besides Galeria, who quickly grew sick of him.Between the fake death, getting saved by a faerin in the woods, saving Ceila Lapana, and wanting to protect his mom. I thought they were building him up to switch sides. But Tomino doesn't really do villains becoming heroes aside from a temporary Char

>>98421422Ah! Yeah an Invul makes perfect sense, similar to the lightning reactions 5++ you see on a lot of units. I haven't played 5th ed since.....2004 I think>>98421435Hey man that grey and red looks sharp to me!>>98429181Nah that's a great point, Bern Burnings was far less interesting and Todd's trajectory really felt like he would switch sides but ultimately he just got cast aside like Jerid. Come to think of it, in Tomino's classic work he doesn't do too many people switching sides to the protagonist unless it's very early on (Emma). Even Turn A and G-Reco is pretty light on that. I think he just prefers for multi-faction conflicts or for people to switch from one antagonist to another (which Dunbine and Zeta are chock full of)>>98430446That's the GQuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuux version of a Gelgoog. Since Char stole the Gundam, Zeon's Gelgoog is essentially a GM. That specific color scheme is for Sugai's unit.
