That's actually a really serious problem.
Probably the best solution would be to call in a favor from the Nosferatu. Nuke all the servers. Impersonate the cult leader and frame them for serious crimes. Have the cult leader "commit suicide" before they can be arrested. Let the cult dissolve on its own. Afterward it's advisable to get some fleshcrafting done to change your appearance a bit.

Of course, all those favors are going to have costs. Vampires aren't known for their acts of charity.

Different genres treat individual characters in different ways. Some genres treat individuals as inherently disposable and replaceable, if one dies you just get a new one. Fans of those genres are wired to treat characters in the same way, which is why they have no problem dumping builds and don't want to reuse them. On the other hand some genres treat individuals as inherently special and irreplaceable, if the chosen one dies the world is done for and nobody can take the same role. Fans of those genres care more about characters so they would want to reuse them if they didn't have a chance to shine and wouldn't just abbandon them.

Who is we? I have not been repeating that. The setting is woven into the abilities we pick and we can draw inspiration from it as we wish. We are just not bound to every single aspect of the cyoa setting and we can change things if we want to. A lot of MPs have been that way, so it shouldn't be confusing.

We're talking WW2 Polish people, which would be quite different to 21st century Polish people, plus the society not being truly uniform, like even now I don't get the vibe you described, but maybe that's just not my crowd.
When it comes to the times of WW2, the stories I heard from people who lived back then mostly relate to the nazi occupation, like my grandpa being traumatized by seeing a nazi executing someone in the street as a little boy, my great-grandma being angry at german soldiers for stealing her chickens towards the end of the german occupation, and stories from veterans and such who sometimes visited schools to talk about those times.
From a general mindset, I'd point out that Poland was a country that regained Independence only twenty years before that, and for a hundred years earlier it had to cling strongly to national identity and mythos to survive as a nation after partitions. During the occupation there was generally a strong opposition towards the occupants, acts of sabotage and guerrilla warfare and more. Check out the Polish Underground State. On top of that, you could add sometimes acting more for honour than reasonable strategic goals, like some uprisings, although that topic's both difficult and rather controversial.
The church would likely be important, because it was one of the pillars that helped upkeep the national identity, but then the time of Soviet influence (we were never a part of USSR, but we were in the Eastern Bloc) also in a way both strained and strengthened that relationship. Nowadays a lot of people are "believing, not practicing", but among the older people (so who were alive during WW2 or born soon after), I haven't met anyone who wouldn't be both believing and practicing. I'm sure there were some, cause communism, though.
