Goblins, like the other demihuman races, were created by a cabal of powerful wizards, seemingly just because they could. As a result of this, they have many confusion biological quirks that were unlikely to evolve naturally, such as their exaggerated proportions and large head, seemingly just because the wizards could. This causes many myriad health problems, from heart disease to difficulty breathing to back pain. If a goblin is in a bad mood, it is probably because most, if not all, of their body hurts in some way or another.
