how difficult would a battlebot be as an enemy in a dungeon?
>>98370305"A battlebot" motherfucker that is Tombstone. He's could kill Thor.
>>98370305get fucked, yon beaste of steel
>>98370305Gosh, I don't know. Tombstone's pretty tough. I think it would take at least level 5 in DnD 5e.
>>98370305It depends on the character options the players chose which depends on the game, and depends on how effective those options are against the battlebot which depends on the game, and depends on various traits of the dungeon which depends on the game.It depends on the game.
>>98370305If it's Tombstone himself then I turn 360 and walk away. But if it's anything else, say a house robot, I may have a chancehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npgsKW8bjOM
>>98370305The ladybug one would be easy.
>>98370305I mean most spinners are going to be a hazard just because they're a high RPM mass, same reason they're the most dangerous period.Crushers and Hammersaws might be slightly dangerous, but mostly the same as any other trap mechanism.Flippers, Lifters, and Wedges are going to be almost useless.
>>98370305Which game?
>>98370305>In diesem Pfosten>Historisch akkurate mechanische Proleten-Kämpfer.
>>98371991Picture this; your party emerge from a passage into a long corridor with a ceiling lined with foot long spikes. They proceed cautiously, likely checking for spring traps looking to catapult them into the cailing. They are half right. They give up after a while, as the corridoor stretches for about a mile deep underground, but once they reach the other end, something rumbles to life in front of them; a gigantic wheeled construct, armed with a springloaded flipper.Flipper bots always abuse arena traps and ringouts; they are exactly as dangerous as the most dangerous thing they could fling you into.Narrow walkways over lava are good too.
>>9837030599% of them would be defeated by a 30lb rock.
>>98371743RobotWars seems to be pretty quickly solved by the contestants since they all seem to go for flat robots that flip other robots over
>>98370305It depends on the robot. So they could be one of the complete pushovers developed by a pair of 12 year olds and their Step-Dads and are literally just a roomba painted pink with a pressure hammer bolted over it.Or it could be one of those serious business murderfuckers like Carbide from Robot Wars that look like they should secretly be the murder weapon from an episode of Midsummer Murders.
>>98377038Which is why everyone started either building robots that functioned either way up or installed self-righting mechanisms. The flippers were still popular, but now you had to use them to yeet your opponent out of the ring to win instead.
>>98370305Every good battlebot that's actually trying to destroy the other bots in the arena is just going to shred your ass if it touches you.
>>98379357don't let it touch you, then.good ol NET will foil the thing
>>98377102Or into the House Robot Zone, or the flaming pit, or the wall spikes.Uk Robot Wars was so much better. It was hosted by Craig Charles, who used to be Dave Lister on Red Dwarf, and was years later arrested for smoking crack in his car.
>>98376606>>98371991I do not want to fight this thing in a dungeon with any sort of lava pit or some other fall-and-die-no-save sort of bullshit.
RC "robots" tend to do nothing without someone with the controller in wireless range. So difficulty = trivial, it's just some pile of metal. Or if the pilot is standing in the corner too, just trying to look inconspicuous, just geek him first.
>>98376811And the other 1% would be defeated by a 300lb rock that the barb brought
>>98379911Yeah, but then you gotta deal with the napalm throwing ones.
>>98381949spin the net really fast
>>98370305Terrible. The controller would need to be extremely close and likely in line of sight since the control signals aren't penetrating much stone.>>98380839An autonomous robot with superhuman reaction times is a very different adversary.
>>98370305Honestly about as scary as gelatinous cube, though smaller so can be stepped over and with higher speed.
>>98370305That looks dangerous to the heels
