They were casting some of the models they re-released for TOW in metal. They seem to be moving towards 100% plastic again though, which is a shame. Metal models are great!

>>98377115Yes, and it's a mistake they've continued to make for the last 22 years! Metal for characters, plastic for regiments was perfect. You had characterful and detailed sculpts for characters and simple, easy to assemble (and cheap, by comparison to the days when metal regiments were the norm) sculpts for your rank and file. Sometimes, they even threw in metal bits for your command squad or your weapon options. That's not to say plastic characters are necessarily bad, though. The wizard sprue from... was it 4th? Might have been 5th. Anyway, this one! It's proof that plastic characters can be wonderful too.Better times! Even in that picture I posted, the chaos warriors on the left and right and the chaos knight are part plastic, part metal, and they're great. Everything went to hell in 2004, I say.
