>>98381748>TQjust legacy armies. i don't want something lame like kislev.
>>98381748>TQBring back the old armies first instead of old WD projects/TWW army
>TQI would like for gw to figure out what the fuck they are doing with the current core armies first before they try and add more shit to the game as it is. Half of the armies have either dogshit internal balance or are lacking a proper identity that wouldn’t be canibalized by another core army, let alone a prospective returning legacy or new army.
>>98381748I would take any legacy army over Cathay any day.
Kislev.
>>98382013Cool high elf.
>>98381748>TQI wouldn't say no to vampire coast, but I want to play my VC somewhat competitively without having to use the screamer list everybody uses.
Optimal answer is Kislev first and then all Legacy then new armies
>>98382013>cathay seethedelicious
>>98376723Uuhh... Sorry anon, but you won't be able to field bears in the future.Kislev has been steadily de-Russified.
>>98382112Meant to >>98382030
This is my Kislev.
>>98382112I don't think bears are an exclusively russian thing.
Human armies are so fucking boring.
>>98376957I don't hate them being russianI hate them being the stupid bear meme culture where every unit is bears or riding bearsI feel like it's mostly the fault of TWW
>>98382112The fact that they no longer focus or put emphasis on how Alexis is riding a bear doesn't mean there won't be any bears-riders or a bear mount in the Arcane Journal.Similarly, changing "Ice Witches" to "Elementalists" doesn't mean the Lore of Ice won't exist.
>>98382112Lmao, GW is really trying to pander to modern sensibilities.
>>98382112i'm fine with this as long as they're no longer every shitty slav stereotype crammed into a single army
>>98381748>Do you want to see brand new armies (ex Vampire Coast) or would you prefer to see legacy armies return first?I don't really care for Kislev personally but I want them to do that because they promised it and my friend wants it.After that, I'd want to see them do like like an alternating new - legacy - new with the legacies being returned/updated in 3 at a time chunks I think. Maybe 2 at a time if they're bringing them back AND also giving them like some new sculpts/units.
>>98382055Is there anything in the Kislev roster that couldn't be represented by empire, Breton is or renegade crowns rosters?
>>98382112Reminder.Kroloveo Loda = "Ice Queen" Polish.
>>98382148>every shitty stereotype crammed into an armythat's literally every warhammer faction anon

>>98382144So lizard aztecs, undead egyptians, medieval french and 16th century germans are ok, but medieval slavs are not? It escapes me
>>98382181Except for Cathay
>>98382181Do any empire characters have scat fetishes then? Do cathayan characters eat everything with legs, except tables?
>>98382191>Do any empire characters have scat fetishes then? Maybe the Stirlanders.
>>98382112you'll have more bears than horses, don't kid yourself
>>98382190which is why the faction doesn't fit in the setting
>>98382215Yeah I think people are overestimating the de-totalwarification of kislev based on a few lines. They'll still have bear cav and ice guard and all that shit, which I think is ...fine anyway. Somebody else said it in the last thread but bear cav by itself is totally fine, it's when you add bear sleds and bear cannons and bear elementals that everything just becomes bear bear bear and it becomes unbearable
>>98382190What's it missing, other than wushu masters and your personal approval?Jade Warriors are terracotta warriors but human, it has the giant teracotta sentinal, the dragons mirror the Emperor being related the Jade Emperor /Divine Mandate of heaven. Is it just your hatred of CHYNA coming to the forefront?Or did you want literally Xiahaou Dun to show up for it to be acceptably chinese
>>98382243Just copy dynasty warriors for starters
>>98382243>the dragons mirror the Emperor being related the Jade Emperor /Divine Mandate of heaven.no, they don't, cathay is too peaceful and harmonious with no conflicts between dynasties or for the right to rule, and this is meant to be the period in cathay history where they should be against one another THE MOST
Do Lizardmen have wheels? Thinking of what to make for their baggage cart. Wondering if I should made a cart, or maybe some kind of pack dino?
>>98382266They have floating fucking gamer chairs nigger, they’re more advanced than you.
>>98382112Only ziggers would get upset about this.Total War steered Kislev towards being a "Fantasy-Russia" monoculture, but before that there was decades of Kislev existing as a combination of Russian with at least the Polish-Lithuanina Commonwealth. Partially "de-Russifed" Kislev is actually just the original Kislev. Why are people upset with the name "Romanoff" being absent? There's a general trend of moving away from the joke-names and accent-based-names (thinking of Tilea with that) so it should be expected they remove overt references to real Russian dynasties.Khan-Queen is fucking gay and a clear mistake, however, because now they're using a turkic word that is heavily associated with both Hobgoblins and Kurgan marauders.>>98382266Either a pack-dino or a stretcher to be carried by multiple kroxigor. Everything is supposed to be jungle in Lustria, so they wouldn't use wheels.
>>98382266use dino
>>98382278>There's a general trend of moving away from the joke-names and accent-based-namesThis is a bad thing
>>98382276The floating stuff is reserved for important stuff
>>98382286Like onaholes (skinks)?
>>98382278don't forget that Mishenka is a male nickname in slavic languages, now we know why GW needed a china sensitivity team lmao
Also, if an Old Worlder stole some important Lizardman thing, and managed to bring it home, could the Lizardmen even do anything about it? They have no boats right? Does their geomantic web even let them get over there? I was under the impression it was mostly broken and very limited.
>>98382293Skinks aren't allowed to have floating chairs of their own, tetto eko was the exception.
>>98382299>could the Lizardmen even do anything about it?yes and they have done so
>>98382248There is conflict, you're just mad its pulling from stereotypes you don't understand and because it's not front and centre in the propaganda book you think it doesn't exist.Lol LMAO even
>>98382299They can just teleport themselves into the Old World, apparently. If you're familiar with the Dark Conspiracy worldwide campaign (5th edition, I think?) you'd know that Mazdamundi and his Lizards went out of their way to retrieve one of their trinkets from the Bretonnian city of Antoch (in Araby). There's also that time during the Dark Shadows worldwide campaign where they teleported to Albion and established a city there.
>>98382182Great Orthodoxy is a thing from Karl Franz era, so i doubt they ever considered it for TOW.
>>98382307>There is conflictNo, there practically isn't.
>>98382266Kroxigors Sherpas.
>>98382307>concepts you don't understandI'm sure people really struggle to comprehend those complex concepts like 8 winds of magic that are actually just two winds called not yin and yang. It's funny since actual chinese culture has concepts like the Iching and eight heavenly gates that would actually fit the lore but no, GW went for the more basic concept they could because their faction had to be black and white the same as the symbol.
>>98382306>>98382308If that is the case, and the Lizardmen can just teleport from Lustria into the Old World, then gow the fuck have they lost contact with the Southlands Lizardmen (& the Dragon Isles Lizardmen also)?
>>98382322lets say you used to have instant messaging every day and then almost suddenly you had to rely on postmail and most of the pen pals are actually dead or chronically asleep in the first place that's what it means by contact being lostthe teleporting is possible but it's a last resort and isn't used for day-to-day management of the empire

>>98382372Very very weak bait. Do better.
>>98382322It works like the webway from 40k, now it's full of demons and other things after the collapse of the polar gateways, so unless it's something super important to the great plan, the lizardmen won't use it
>>98382162Doesn't that also mean blowjob queen
>Trying to decide what province and colour scheme i want to do for my Empire dudesThis feels like a harder choice than naming my firstborn son

>>98382299Isn't the plot behind the 5th edition-box battle (Bretonnia vs Lizardmen) literally that ?
>>98382322
>>98382466You could always have regiments from multiple different provinces.I'm working on some Averland dudes atm.
>>98382112Any other fluff revisions?
>>98382517Probably on the Cathay page and Norsca page, but I've not read the update to confirm thatThe Tilea, Border Princes and Estalia pages are all the same
>>98381748>TQIdeally we'd alternate between new armies, legacy returns, and refreshes for the old armies. But I expect new armies will be few and far between and that legacy armies are relatively easier to bring back as long as they still have the moulds for them. I'd rather see legacy armies return in new ways that fit the narrower scope of TOW's setting, such as vampire counts returning as mousillon vampires. Or southlands lizardmen.
>>98382112Didn't kislev artwork prompt that old Bear Cavalry demotivational poster which then led to kislev being flanderized with the bears? Or did I completely imagine that connection? Still, weird to see them cut completely out. Ursun being their winter god and their winter god being the most prominent of their seasonal gods due to their climate was actually cool and flavorful. TW's only real crime was ignoring the other gods completely and going all in on ice bears
>>98382543total war had more emphasis on the other kislev gods than any firsthand gw publication ever did
>>98382552Wouldn't BL books count a firsthand GW publication?if so, Riders of the Dead focused almost entirely on Dazh on the Kislivite side of that book, the other gods barely got mentioned.
>>98382552They only got some text boxes in the faction mechanic. They didn't even get any units or any kind of representation in the religious dude's faction. They could have spread the love a little better
>>98382564>Wouldn't BL books count a firsthand GW publication?no
>>98382564treat bl as a suggestion, never as a real reflection of the setting.
>>98382508Rat-like beastmen living under a city is so preposterous it's unbelievable, by the way.>>98382543Is this what you're thinking of?I remember seeing this at least 10 years ago. It's not from Warhammer.

>>98382564You also have Beastslayer where it's told of the Cult of Ulric an its presence on Praag.
>>98382573>Rat-like beastmen living under a city is so preposterous it's unbelievable, by the way.it's not the rat-like part that's unbelievable, it's the idea that they are more numerous than you, more intelligent and advanced than you, united in purpose against you, and living so close to you, yet remaining unseen and unnoticed by you
>>98382586nta but the unbelievable part is the claim skaven exist yet no can bring any evidence just occasionally sightings. The average person has zero knowledge of the skaven or any of their weapons and capabilities. And they way the Skaven attack is they just raid a town and farming community sack, it burn it to the ground and disappear, leaving very little evidence its them
the actual ironic part is most of the Skaven sightings are clan Eshin, you know the Skaven that are supposed to be ninjas and not be seen.Only the dwarves would be fully aware the Skaven have vast armies and warmachines because they fight them underground
>>98382595>>98382613This stupid shit is why no one likes Skaven fags. I hope they get squatted.
>>98382643The reasons why people don't like skavenfags are others, skaven fluff, or rather misconceptions about it from salty empirefags, aren't it.
>>98382386Truth is bait now?
>>98382649>misconceptionsThere are no misconceptions. Skaven fluff is pants on head retarded. Then someone set the pants on fire.

>>98380691You are, legitimately, perhaps the most retarded human being ever to be born. >>98382643>>98382651>>98382658>>98382676Do you just stalk /wfg/ with the intent of being a flaming retard or is it just something that comes instinctual to you?
>empirefags in fantasy>guardfags in 40kwhat is it about the default human faction that attracts these kinds of retards?
>>98382112Pretty much confirmes kislev will stay a background faction and will never get official TOW models.Good.
>>98382681it's not that they like the default human faction, it's that they hate everything else, but are too addicted into being consumers to step away from the dominant games/genres they clearly do not like
>>98382681Don't forget they get always buttmad when their faction isn't top tier or the central point of the ongoing narrative. Truly unpleasant people.
>>98382704>gw paying attention to how kislev is presented proves they don't plan on presenting kislevhow dumb are you?
>>98382681In my experience empirefags are cool.
>>98382681>>98382705>>98382707People on /tg/ frequently talk about these faction stereotypes, but the only stereotypes I've ever experienced are >40k players being low functioning autistic 30 year olds, whilst Fantasy players are high-functioning autistic 50 year oldsWhich is an IRL stereotype. Then for online stereotypes its>Skaven fans are furriesNothing else stands up to scrutiny. t. former owner of Skaven models
>>98382671Oh yeah that's definitely not from warhammer kek. My own biases working against me.
>>98382709Well he was saying the same thing about Cathay when TOW launched and didn't learn his lesson so that should clue you in
>>98382681Never had any problems with actual Empire players. TWW Karl Franz secondaries are the annoying ones, but they don’t play the actual game.
>>98382704Probably bait, but if not thats the stupidest conclusion you could have come to. Well done.
>>98382723It baffles me that people expect a faction so tied up in the Great War narrative to release in this edition which is set decades earlier. The TOW narrative isn't even close to Magnus showing up, the civil war ending or Asavar Kul taking charge. They only brought Cathay in because it has no relevance to the great war and they can sidestep it as soon as things kick off.
>>98382747>implying they won't retcon cathay into being a major player in the great war>implying they won't skip past the leftover decades to the war as soon as they fancy

>>98382810When they do product tests for paint and brushes, etc
>>98382891Shit, I'm tempted to buy it just to flip through the fluff pages. My friends are too low IQ to comprehend WFRP so I always have to slap Warhammer into a rules-light system when I run a game for them.
>>98382810They originally just gave the perspective of store owners with history, but once they realised outrage generated revenue they decided to pursue it entirely Business must be bad if you hope to profit more posting that slop than operating an lgs
>>98382891why are they attacking innocent civilians?
>>98382891>98 pagesIt's a rather small expansion this time around. On par with Sea Wardens of Cothique and Lords of Stone and Steel, though those two were accompanied by the respective player's guide. It's something like +50 pages shorter than the Salzenmund book that released a few years ago.
>>98382891Interesting. The witch-huntress is wearing a small shield with colours of Sylvania, instead of Stirland. The design looks straight out of 'Uniforms & Heraldry of The Empire'.
>>98382936Probably more useful as an adventure guide though; Salzenmund was GREAT and my players loved it but a lot of the book is pumped up by precisely detailed locations and ancient history that won't really come up in a campaign. This looks to be all meat no fat in terms of adventuring.
>>98382891>2 5th edition supplements out before 5th edition actually isFucking marvellous lol
>>98382891Does it have any more necromancy spells? I'd ask if there's any guide for players becoming Vampires but I'm assuming the answer's no
The only NPC I recognize out of these is Gabriella from the Ulrika novels. A little surprisingly there appears to be no Von Carstein vamps among them, but the profiles might reveal otherwise.

>>98383008these would work better
>>98383027Those look shockingly good. Thank you, Anon!
>>98383014Maybe they saved it for the Undead Player's Guide (TBA).
>>98383038I know some people don't like the idea of playable Vampires, but they seem much more in the vibe of what WFRP should be than fucking skinks.
Does anyone know any resellers selling the old Forgeworld Fimir? I've been looking for fucking months to replace them but only been able to buy 3, money's not an issue.
>>98383038From what I've seen from the writers on the discord, they are very opposed to playable villain races. They didn't want playable Skaven, they don't like the idea of playable Chaos, and aren't a fan of playable vampires too.
>>98382982>>98383014A little odd that neither Mannfred nor anyone connected to him is included. The game is set around 2510, give or take a couple years, so it's been a while since rumors started circulating that the Von Carsteins were rebuilding their power base.
>>98383088>they are very opposed to playable villain races. They didn't want playable Skavenwonder why C7 did an official one-shot with Fatshark it even had some of the Vermintide VA playing Skaven.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2Q5pkM1TEg

The new battalions really expose the range of sculpt quality across TOW. Wood elf one is basically perfect, near-current sculpt quality and modular and not retarded in the number of separate bits and attachments. GW should have just stopped there.
>>98383134>>98383134those WE sculpts are near universally panned wtf are you on about?
Oh hey look who's here
>>98383038A guy who got an early copy said this is the first in a line of books about Sylvania, so I would expect more stuff eventually
Why does it feel like none of these troll hag parts quite fit together? I'm going to be sculpting and filling gaps all night again, aren't I?
>>98383134Only problem with the WE one is that no generic plastic hero kits exist so they had to awkwardly throw in a named character sculpt. Really should have just held off on the WE one till they were ready to drop a new kit for WEs.Though at this point I think Glade Guard and Riders are gonna be replaced in the relatively near future, so they might just be liquidating stock with this box.
>>98383223Never was a fan of the 7e design but at least that art piece leans more towards the Dainton illustration than the model, so that's good.
>>98382753Those are not new names. They've been used for decades now.
>>98383223Why is he wearing gloves?
>>98383213Panned by who? They look great.
>Do you want to see brand new armies (ex Vampire Coast) or would you prefer to see legacy armies return first?I think Vampire Coast should be next for a lot of reasons. First, it makes business sense for GW. Aside from some printoids and people with older converted armies, no one has a Vampire Coast army so it would be pure profit. Whereas for VC there's tons of existing collections, tons of generic third party plastic undead, and the AOS Gravelords range which look cool even if they're oversized. Undead pirates would also sell like hotcakes to people who paint and make dioramas for fun but don't actually play TOW. Also, I'm starting to find the legacy players really really annoying. GW straight up told them they weren't coming back to temper their expectations but they still bitch and moan every time TOW comes up in social media. I mean, I'd like the legacy armies to come back eventually(except daemons which should be allies for Beasts/Warriors) but they need to be in timeout for a little longer IMO.
>>98383223>wifebeater armor
>>98383319Because he was modeled with gloves.
>>98383296I mean they were not in the 1st version of the rulebook (see top part of pic), it was just good old Khorne/Nurgle/Slaanesh/Tzeentch.
>>98381748>Do you want to see brand new armies (ex Vampire Coast) or would you prefer to see legacy armies return first?I want to see a single legacy army return first, as proof that GW realise they were wrong to ever remove them from TOW. Then I want to see the rest of the legacy armies return next, as proof that GW realise they were wrong to ever axe WHFB. Then I want to see Pygmies return next, as proof that... well, you know.
>>98381383Anon, that looks amazing.I remember stumbling by here a while ago and someone posted empire shields with nicely sculpted emblems and heraldry. Was that also you, and what sculpting medium do you use?

>>98383377First Dark Elves - some kind of arcane journal about the Delves raiding a High Elf colony. Then Vampire Counts. They're iconic. Skaven players are cheaters and weirdos who deserve to use a 2 page PDF list. Ogres add absolutely nothing to the setting. Daemons were the ultimate Timmy army.

Arabyans and Southlanders also coming to save the Empire from losing ?
Archaon was a hero for finally defeating the Middenheim ball-snatcher.
>>98383682Which is the interesting bit; Sigmar clergy coming into different flavors is definitively a plus and it is sad it doesn't really appear in the battle gameWe often hear in the lore that plenty of high ranking priests of Sigmar are corrupt and decadent schemers and politicians, but it's hard to imagine that the stern warrior priests could behave like this outside the battlefield, so it is good to remind players and lorefags that the greater part of gis priesthood don't usually fight but mainly preach, do politics and administrative workthis enriches the lore

>>98383860My problem with cannons is that they're, paradoxically, too good at killing infantry and cavalry characters, as well as chariots, and utterly worthless against the problem-units that they're intended to counter. As an example, before the recent FAQ/Errata, do you know what the alternative to running a chaos lord on a dragon was? A daemon prince. Do you know why DPs were even remotely viable? Because, as monstrous infantry, they were functionally immune to cannons as a result of the "Look Out Sir!" rule, so long as they were within 3" of a friendly unit of infantry.Do you know what's happened now that DPs are no longer monstrous infantry, but rather monstrous creatures? They went extinct, because dragons are just better in every single scenario now.Cannons are a problem because they don't do what they should and they do what they shouldn't.
Got two games planned this week, kinda hyped to play casual fun games and roll some dice to make fun narratives.
>>98383884Not him but I find it hilarious that as far back as fucking 4th edition, Chaos Lords are superior to Daemon Princes.
>>98383860>I don't want to invest points in light cav to hunt down warmachinesI mean if your dragon/daemon prince/monster is dead before you get a turn no amount of light cav will help you since they can't use anything as a screen.>I don't want to learn how to use terrainBro this isn't 40k there's nothing hiding a Greater Daemon on most tables, let alone hiding one from 2-4 Artillery pieces and enabling them to do anything useful.I don't really care but Artillery is kind of silly.
>>98383897Good luck beast bro. Hope to get a Battle March game in soonish with Snagrog. Duff some more gits!
>>98383860if hunting down warmachines and using terrain was that easy and effective you wouldn't be taking as many cannons as possible in any and every army that can take themthey're overpowered, plain and simple, they could cost twice the amount they do and people would still take as many as they can
>>98383868I think an easy fix would be to add some chainmail. Just a sleeved undershirt and a coif. The leather gloves and furry cape can stay on. But with just some chainmail I think he'd look much more like an ancient warlord than as "Count Orlock at the gym."
>>98383868>go bald>destroy the worldmany such cases
>>98383897>>98383931Hey, I'm joining a battlemarch league that's just starting this weekend too. Should be a good time. I'm aware my painting is awful. It's been awful for 24 years.
>>98383970You can do better anon. I believe in you!
i want to get into TOW and my beastmen aree my fav race. whats my chances for model range refresh? i dont want to invent money into models that will be replaced with "new" ones. Are bestigors good? i like them more than ungors
>>98383985You won't see any new models for their plastic kits save maybe minotaurs You will see new plastic kits to replace their current resin/metal models
So the great wall of cathay is so important that it actually stops chaos from invading the old world and that's why cathay is in a game that takes place a continent away instead of kislev who was formerly the bastion against chaos?
>>98384000no
>>98383985Sadly bestigors are bad. They cost too much for the value they can earn on the offensive and are roadkill if on defense. It sucks cause they look good and are good flavor. Im going to try a warpgor brick next match instead to see how they compare to bestigors.
How should cannons be nerves to make them less oppressive against monsters then?
>>98383957Count Orlock in the gym would be better than modern Manfred. The lack of sleeves, the baldness, the complete removal of refinement to some...thing just baffles me.Pic related would be a good design. More armoured at least, as ye suggested and hair.
Only ever played 6th and a game of 8th. Hows this for a babys first list. I like Knights Panther models, I like demigriffs, I like the War Alter model, and I feel like it wouldnt be an Empire army without halberdiers++ Characters [792 pts] ++Harald Gemunsen [185 pts] (Hand weapon, Beast Reaver, Full plate armour, Barding, General)Lector of Sigmar [328 pts] (Hand weapon, Heavy armour, War Altar of Sigmar, Hammer of Righteousness, The White Cloak)Chapter Master [279 pts] (Hand weapon, Lance, Full plate armour, Shield, Order of the Knights Panther, Battle Standard Bearer [Banner of the Knights Panther], Demigryph, Blade of Silvered Steel)++ Core Units [506 pts] ++5 Empire Knights Panther [127 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Heavy armour, Barding, Standard bearer, Musician)7 Inner Circle Knights Panther [252 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Full plate armour, Barding, Stubborn, Inner Circle Preceptor (champion), Standard bearer, Musician)5 Empire Knights Panther [127 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Heavy armour, Barding, Standard bearer, Musician)++ Special Units [702 pts] ++3 Demigryph Knights Panther [216 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Full plate armour, Barding, Demigryph Preceptor (champion), Standard bearer, Musician)20 State Troops [135 pts] (Hand weapons, Halberds, Light armour, Sergeant (champion), Standard bearer, Musician)20 State Troops [135 pts] (Hand weapons, Light armour, Shields, Sergeant (champion), Standard bearer, Musician)3 Demigryph Knights Panther [216 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Full plate armour, Barding, Demigryph Preceptor (champion), Standard bearer, Musician)
>>98383985Source for the pic? That's adorable.
>>98384095Probably give damage reduction to Monsters that shouldn't be afraid of them or make the Artillery do less damage to things with the type monster. Also I lost a daemon prince turn 1 to a stone thrower last game. PAIN.I assume we still want them to hurt ogres or monstrous cavalry/infantry, just not oneshotting 3-500pt models.
>>98384108I am not an Empire player but it looks decent enough. Just for future reference, if you want to increase chances of a response, use pic related when exporting army lists, it helps considerably for readability.
>>98384144How is that feasible? Meteoric Iron 5+ save, 4+ Ward save and a Regeneration save 5+. That must have been seriously bad luck.
>>98383361Ok that tears it I need vampire minisWhats a good way to build a counts list? Hows their casting these days?
>>98382936Boo! I wanted a 'Lustria' sized book full of Sylvania goodness and vampire goodness. Guessing this isn't going to be the 'Nights Dark Masters' of 4/5e.
>>98384144I feel like they should still deal a fuckton of damage, but unless the monster in question is the size of a cathay sentinel or something they should be hard to hit
>>98382948They also have had Sylvania with it's own boarders and ruler listed on the map with no explanation.
>>98383562Aren't we all? Aside from you, you're a massive tranny.A pdf would be delightful.
>>98384239Look to Age of Sigmar, and what boxes they have (like picrel). Plus an extra vampire.
>>98384249i think the TOW RPG explained that the guy who currently owns the region just doesn't want anything to do with it so just exiles people there to get taxes
>>98384226Yeah it was pretty funny. Also daemon prince can't get BRB gear so he's taking heavy armor but it's not immutable I think.
>>98384144How about giving lone monsters a 3+ save against artillery to represent how hard it is to actually shoot at a single target? Maybe lower the save to a 5+ and add +1 to the roll for every 4" the monster moved in the previous turn?
>>98384239Lotsa grave guard, banshees and mortis engine will get you fully set up.
>>98384280Yeah, but shouldn't the whole thing be controlled by Stirland after the vampire wars?
>>98384332The average stirland couldnt govern a henhouse, let alone a state
>>98384345A stirlander, a bretonnian peasant and a gnoblar enter a spelling competitionWho dies first?
>>98384144>>98384321Too convoluted, needs to be simple. Something added to large target for example that says "Can't take more than 2 damage from a multi wound ranged attack" or something like that.
>>98384301Anon, the DP can get standard book gear, you've been had. Meteoric Iron is standard for magic items.
>>98384249True. To me that makes as much sence as Solland being an existing province, according to WRPG, up until 2512. Gorbad Ironclaw's invasion should have destroyed the province permanently, with Wissenland subsequently annexing its lands.
>soland gets to exist>drakwald doesnt even get heraldrypain
>>98384438What?!?? I could have sworn daemons can't get..Yeah in the rules for demonic gifts they explicitly state you can't take common magic items. You are mistaken my friend.
>>98384280>be a stirlanderOk I want to die>be a stirlander noble>be a stirlander noble who said something stupid like that family guy is still good>ludwig sends you east>get swarmed with 10/10 goth waifusGood end?
>>98384473Hang on a sec, were you using WoC or Daemons of Chaos? I assumed you were using Warriors.
>>98384497I wish Daemons of Chaos had better princes. WoC getting strictly better versions of the same unit is pain in 8th and ToW.I still remember my friend borrowing my bloodcrushers to proxy as skullcrushers and learning that his were just better. Same with a lord on juggernaut. Or anyone with the mark of nurgle. Nothing but pain to know your dudes get better when they leave your army. Was honestly hoping they'd fix that in ToW but oh well.
>>98383014>Only 100 pages longThe player options are in there, but they're usually put near the end of the book.
>>98384474Brother, you're not getting goth waifus you're getting pox-addled wretches. The only time you meet a goth baddy with huge pale breasts squeezed into a corset is when she's slurping your neck.
I fucked up the white, but I'm happy with these for a unit costing less than 200 points.
>>98384095cannons shouldn't be able to pivot and then shoot, they get bases now, so they can have a normal firing arc, if they want to shoot to something outside their firing arc they can pivot and wait a turn or pivot and shoot grapeshot with a malusthe precision of cannons is absurd, especially since premeasuring is allowed, the cannonshot should scatter in a random direction instead of moving directly forward, after that the bounce can move straightforward in the line drawn from the cannon to the first point of the bounce great cannons stop using the improved cannon profile and instead stick to the normal cannon profile regardless of other limits cannons may have, they are 0-1 per 1000ptsbetter fixes require a way heavier hand over too many other rules
>>98384540Nice
>>98384537>The only time you meet a goth baddy with huge pale breasts squeezed into a corset is when she's slurping your neck.I mean love comes in many ways
>>98384462I'm also fairly certain it's supposed to be on the other bank of the river Sol, considering that's where the old capital is, and mentions of many of it's nobility fleeing to Averland. Although I think it's supposed to be some kind of rebel upstart state, maybe old Soland nobility trying to reestablish it, which is plausible, but the wrong location still seems stupid since I assume you'd need at least some commoner support for such an action. I don't know, it would be nice if any of the new lore even bothered mentioning it.
>Run Enemy Within again but for neophytes to WHFor,>Run Lustrian adventure with vets
ROOO RAAAAH
>>98384462>>98384587Sorry, my reading comprehension didn't kick in with the WRPG part. Up till 2512? As in it's been around right up till when the old timeline started? That's one of the most retarded retcons I've ever heard. Not only does it contradict what's been stated before, it doesn't even make sense thematically. Why even mention it being destroyed if it was only briefly gone? Why have Averland change it's heraldry? Did they also mention that Drakwald also refromed and actually only dissolved 5 years before the setting?
>>98382013If the new starter was anything other than China I would buy it just for the Chaos warriors, but WHO the fuck wants fake, shitty Chinese? Like having the HRE fight orcs is fucking cool, but who told them anyone wanted fake Chinese?
>>98384617I will never understand how this dude is meant to bring the axe down with that metal horn in the way
>>98384390trick question, they're the same person
>>98384617He looks like he's ready to do some big rapes. What basing scheme you going with?
>>98384683>He looks like he's ready to do some big rapesI gotta be honest, I think I'm growing tired of this meme
>>98384599Lustria, so you can go Full Acquire the Wrath of God mode on the party
>>98384797forgot image
>>98384617I am going to steal this theme. I want to like beastmen but their lack of presence in the fluff irks me. I appreciate they share the niche of being the "bad guy of the week" type in Warhammer with Orcs but Orcs can have serious threats like Skarsnik, Grimgor or Morglum. All Beastmen have is Khazrak who, while cool, just stays in the forest. The other characters only appeaded for one edition. Even their peers, Chaos Warriors, treat them like fodder. That and they rarely, if ever have a narrative voice from their perspective.
>>98384644I like and purchase Cathay sets.
>>98384321>>98384421Maybe reduced damage and/or a save if the cannon isn't shooting from close range?
>>98384644I bought them because>Plastic >Up to date models>Fomo sets/battalions >Told myself I would buy them if gdubs ever released them Waiting to see if friend wants core because I know he's a chaos lover in all the other games.
>>98384540I love it anon. Especially the scenic backdrop. All looks amazing great job!
We’re the big boys now
>>98384914I will never get over how stupid the new chaos warrior designs are. I dont care if they're a call back to 5th edition, they look lame.Nostalgia for a past that has been unattended to and for good reason. I mean wooden fucking shields for fucks sake. WOODEN, FUCKING, SHIELDS. WHY? Whatever, it looks like they're retconning chaos to be this diluted thing anyways to avoid god marked shit anyways so I can ignore chaos moving forward at this point. I just hope beastmen get some love atp.
I am so glad that my chaos half sold already. They're good figures, much better in person than in photography, but Dynasty Warriors has its tendrils on me and I must stand with the middle kingdom led by a Manakete from Fire Emblem.
>>98384736You probably know this already but don't go over to /vg/ and see the total war general. It's way worse over there.
>>98384958>Dynasty WarriorsWell its a shame cathay is nothing like that. Like at all. From visuals to gameplay to lore.
>>98384958If you want more Han ionspire models, you will need to get some from WGA in a couple of weeks
>>98384980WGA is precisely why I'm getting Cathay. They have been sitting on those for five damn years and then at the last minute go "we won't release an army set like we've been putting on the coming soon section of the weekly email instead it's just one box" and at this point I'm fed up.Which is a shame because I have my Kensei Katai hero figures that fit these better than Cathay.
>>98384736meme ?
>>98384980>
>>98384955The wooden shields are definitely bothersome. It's odd that they didn't even try to recreate the shields that the 5th ed models came with. However, I completely disagree with you regarding the overall aesthetic of the 5th ed and TOW warriors. They're not the same as the ones from the Storm of Chaos, but that doesn't mean they're bad. If anything, I'd say the TOW warriors still take too many design cues from the SoC warriors, but bringing back the trim and the shape language was a great idea. However, you're right on the money with regards to Chaos getting diluted. I don't care for it. It's too reeled in, too restrained. Focusing on Chaos undivided (as oppposed to Chaos Undivided) was a mistake. A mistake in all likelihood mandated as a way to distinguish the TOW and AoS model ranges, but a mistake nevertheless. Also, I cannot overlook your point about the 5th ed aesthetic being left to rot for "good reason". Not everyone is blessed with good taste, it seems.
>>98385006>his army was an army nowdo you really read this stuff?
>>98384111sorry anon i was out of house its Hermit Herd. >>98383995by plastic kits u mean old models just in plastic or resculpts like chaos getting atm?>>98384092damn i rly like their design
>>98384980I'm all for proxying but fuck me these look terrible
>>98384587Ah, yeah. They're also a province during TOW. I actually don't mind them that since, as you've said, it's supposed to be made of upstart rebels trying to cobble old Sudenland back together. >>98384633>Up till 2512? As in it's been around right up till when the old timeline started?Yes. It's been a long while since read through Enemy Within (4th edition), but according to the Campaign's narrative there's an event called The Turmoil, where in the end - amongst other shenanigans - Countess Emmauelle conquers Sudenland (who btw also had an Elector seat, not a regular province) and incorporates it into Wissenland. The entire campaign is filled with retcons and contradicting lore.
>>98385065It's because before that his army was an "army" made of a bunch of pleasure-seekers cultists.
Will people throw a fit if I saw my Empire are wandering mercenaries? Guy at my LGS who was grilling me on my interest in Warhammer Fantasy said I "need" to play Renegade Crowns and I call bullshit on his claim.
>>98385279TEW was based on older first-edition lore, and the intention of the 4th edition version of the campaign was to meld the older continuity together with more recent WFB lore so it all worked, but it's still very messy. It's also why Nordland becoming its own elector state is a minor plot point in the later half of the campaign since Nordland didn't exist in older versions of the Empire.
>>98385293That dude sounds like a massive fag, of course you can play them as wandering mercenaries. Although you should come up with some kind of backstory to flesh them out. Who's their leader, what is his motivation, whereabouts are they from, what's their ethnic makeup like, what battles/foes have they fought etc etc.
>>98385318That is what I thought too. Thanks for your input, Anon. I am a firm believer in fleshing out /mydudes/ to a degree that satisfies my slightly autistic tendencies, while also not having them step on any canon faction or characters feet.
>>98385293>Will people throw a fitI mean that guy already did, so probably. Sounds like a fag though, don't play him. I can't imagine seething that the army literally based on historical mercenary armies isn't using the "correct" army list, guy sounds cucked by GW officialdom
>Core Set sold out everywhere in my Euro country at any decent discount>found 1 set in stock in a retailer>was labelled " starter set " in our native language>probably why it wasn't bought out>buy it>they sent email that it's shipping tomorrowBroooooooooooooooooos I can't believe I found one at a half decent price still. The only other places that have them in stock still are at barely any/no discount at all. I calculated using discounted prices the box is like a 50% savings assuming the 4 knights count as half a kit (which I think they do) and the Chaos Lords cost the same as the gate master dual kit (they may or they may be more expensive). I am so hyped,
>>98385186>sorry anon i was out of house its Hermit Herd.No worries, thanks mate.
>>98385302>the intention of the 4th edition version of the campaign was to meld the older continuity together with more recent WFB lore so it all workedIt didn't really work that well though. They still left too many contradictions in their re-telling. Marius Leidorf, for instance, didn't exist during early 1ed., yes, he was a later addition (from 4th Edition Armybook, I think?); yet current lore states that he was Elector Count since (at least) 2502. It doesn't matter if they bring back Ludmilla III for TEW when Armybook fluff always has primacy.Yes, it is indeed very messy, in spite of their efforts. They needed better editors (and still do desu).
>>98383985>>98385186I suppose that this is meant to be a "what if a couple of Old World peasants whose children mutated in the womb choose to keep them and raise them instead of abandoning them in the forest to let them die or get picked up by beastmen" case situation ?the problem is that if they chose to do that, the beastmen kids would constantly try to kill and eat their folks from their infancy and no matter how much the parents would try to properly raise them, it would be uselessas soon as the kids are old enough, they would overpower their parents and gore them to deathin warhammer world, nature always overturn nurtureyou can take the beastman out of the forest but you cannot take the forest out of the beastman
>>98384807And Morghur. But yeah that's been my biggest gripe with beastmen as well. When the most famous beastman alive is "that one gor whos trying to kill one dudes family" they have a bit of a scale issue. The problem though is they can't really have a middle scale threat. Morghur is world endingly powerful, Khazrak is rando nobody. I have some hope with Krawlmaw and Ghorros, I can see them being interesting enough to hold some sway. Especially if they do something different than most armies and keep adding heroes into their herd instead of making heroes of different herds.
>>98385458ok cool anon but thats just a "cute" comic
>>98385458>raising beastmen in a loving and kind family will turn them into gentle and productive furriesyeah, you're right, sounds like something a tumblerina or plebbitor keen to take out the more politically incorrect aspects of warhammer would come up with
