If you ask the druids or Elune priestesses they'd probably say it was awful and destructive and that enforced ban on arcane magic is necessary. However the night elf mages got kicked out by the remaining night elves even if they personally hadn't done anything wrong, so that's also pretty oppressive

Initially I didn't even set out to make "elves" with these designs, as again the first designs for this faction/race I made were their warsuits, but as the design choices etc I made that appealed to me pushed the designs closer and closer towards what read to me as "an elf" I just decided to embrace that aesthetic rather than fight against the proverbial gravity of it. Within the setting itself they aren't "really" elves in the sense of being called such etc, however they embody many elven tropes in terms of their lore and role they have. Technically they are just one of the myriad splinter races derived from humanity that emerged due to rampant genetic engineering.
