I have mixed feelings for the palworld game. It Looks decent and has potential depth. I plan on going to my LGS for the palworld release event to see what it’s like and what the vibe is. I like the art on the cards and it seems like a nice break from Magic. However I do worry about themes and shit because of my autism and so when I see cards like pic related I get a little concerned because how the fuck is a chair related to doing damage unless your slamming that bitch down WWE style. I feel like they missed the mark and it should do something more akin to making a pal stand back up on use or on entry. I’ll post again 8/1 with my thoughts on the game. The demons online have been unimpressive

Palworld pulls reporting in. Made my money back off this bad boy. Was hard to let go because I actually really like the card for its art and playability.

I find the dragon shields work good. I’ve started with making a mono red and mono blue deck to really get a feel of how the colors play then I’ll probably start mixing a deck up. Bought both trial decks and ripped 3 boxes and kept 1 box sealed. Tomorrow is one of my shops events so I’m looking forward to seeing the turnout. We’re making 40 card decks with all colors from 6 packs. So take 2 cards out and there your deck lmao.

I think the game is going to get a following. Laws of average and the hype dictate this might be Bushi roads one hit.

I think the intended is 50 card decks+10 souls, since you mill when you take damage. Decking out the enemy is a viable strat and a lot of cards have built in discard mechanics. 40 might be too little to play comfortably. seems like a neat idea though.

Biggest changes are discardable cards to negate damage and up to 8 lucky cards in your deck that upon being damaged you mill cards and if one is revealed and it’s lucky you take no damage.

Extremely cool aesthetically but also extremely slow, and the G4 is only the third best after Ignis and Purelight.

The G3 being as weak as it is combined with the INCREDIBLY tame rearguards and lackluster CC ability make the deck seem like it was an attempt at making a Griphogila Fantome or otherwise trying to make a Deletor Encounter with even worse restrictions than CBD. Deck somehow feels even more incomplete than wave 1 Veissrugr, who at least had Roztnir and the piss order to break backs on turn 3.

Palworld is very early, but red or red/blue seem to be superior to other decks to the point the game could be pretty stale by October.
You can also see where the power creep will come from, Jormun Ignis is the only real Weiss style finisher so far and there is a lot of room to make cards like that much more oppressive.

Red blue are strong indeed, they are the best colors imo. But I don’t think you’ve don’t enough diving into what you can splash in a deck that’s majority one color. I made a blue dragon deck with a splash of green for mana ramp and I was able to have Elphdrian put jormund on top then chiller to play him since I had a feed box to boost my mana. Don’t forget there’s another edition coming out soon and we got no clue what will be in it. Green and purple both have some really good cards but I agree that blue red seems top tier.

Also pic related could be its own deck. Colorless then splash in some purple and somthing else. Purple seems to play with colorless the best. Aside from dragon tribal.

They're a bit like Konami except Vanguard does NOT have the sheer history of YGO to make mediocre product sell.
V fell apart almost entirely off of an accounting error regarding the banlist and killing V set 10's market value by hitting Nemain, causing a LOT of shops to lose faith in Bushiroad due to being too fast regarding a banlist.

This incident is also why Aichi Icon has yet to get seriously hit, and why hits take ages now like with Bavsargra.
Buddyfight died almost entirely due to YGO level powercreep and lack of direction to take the game, though Thailand seems to be keeping the series alive over there somehow.

Bushiroad also has a history of making a bunch of TCGs which then have a moderate fatality rate instead of sticking in a few heavy hitters. it's a miracle Vanguard survived as long as it has but it's been a long while since the peak of the mid 2010s.

Godzilla's got a lot of material to pull from, is a big name, licensed TCGs have been on the rise lately, and with Kidani stepping down, there's definitely some hope for it. Also the game has enough variance in its own right to be very enjoyable from a player perspective.

Anlarcciel has consistency issues in addition to being slow as fuck. Its gameplan is somehow comparable to Dragontree in 2026. Also trying to Persona Ride WITH A COST as a G4 deck in 2026.
The deck will do a lot better if it gets a PR that CB1 and self vanish deletes from drop to superior ride the G4 from hand, deck or even drop, then gets the order from drop into hand and reduces the delete skill CB by 1. This fixes every consistency issue the deck has while letting it pull a Favrneel going second.

If they're scared of giving Ignis a ride jumper or Security Upgrader, Anlarcciel is not as scary in this format and almost seems designed to expect it.

fer a moment, I wondered what the hells the Union Burst mechanic was in SVE, but then somebody told me it's just an abillity that triggers if you're running a PriConne Universe deck. Now Equipment on the other hand.... ...yeah, it just clarifies whenever a follower has a certain skill active.

How do you store your playsets? 12 pocket binders are the most visually appealing but also tend to cost twice as much, even the "cheap ones" seem to jump up a lot for 12 pocket.

I was considering getting a 9 pocket but doing 2 cards in sleeves per pocket and leaving a spot for any SRs of that card next to them. Suppose I could do something similar with 12 pockets and just do 2 commons per pocket and put SRs in the back or something, would the binder get too crowded like that? don't think I'd stack Rs and up
