When did we last have a file name thread? I'm bringing it back.

You post images that may or may not be /tg/ related, but the file name ties it to something about tabletop hobbies, usually in a comedic way. Lets go!

As always, filename threads on /tg/ are the absolute bottom of the barrel. The majority of these """"jokes"""" just repeat the joke in the image vaguely /tg/ flavoured. The point of a filename joke is to add a layer of humour that isn't already in the picture.

No, I will not "try to better the thread with my own contribution" this time. That shit never worked because the same unfunny bullshit keeps getting reposted again and again and again.
>>
>>98399210
Unironically, this place would be better if the jannies actually enforced this rule. Not because I want a happy Lefty safe space, but because I don't want a miserable Righty safe space. It's just as obnoxious.

>>98399228
Reddit doesn't even know /tg/ exists. This war is entirely one-sided and in the minds of the kind of person that would be filtered if the rules were enforced.

>>98399356
Agreed; these threads were good 10 years ago, but were diluted by people who don't get the point.
In credit to who I assume is OP, >>98399309 is actually good, and >>98399219 made me laugh. But the rest, and everything else that will be posted here, will just be /tg/ flavored descriptions, as you say.

You feel less incentivised making OC when you know you'll be the only one making the effort. Not all OC is automatically good, obviously you gotta let people make chaff to get the gems. But now there's no motivation to try at all. If I do have a fresh idea I'd rather present it elsewhere, /tg/ is for shitposts and reposts.

This. There's also a disturbing amount of dashes instead of underscores, times have changed and the discipline is damaged. However, I will contribute because I support OP's attempt, as filename threads can be fun. We must be better shitposters.

Very few player facing tables in GURPS. I ran it for 10+ years, i don't think my players knew it had more than 1 table. Wait, no, i used the wound table in same campaigns, so they knew 2. God, i miss my group.

i agree. the books contain a lot of tables, but none of them are necessary for the players actually. i would always turn combats into combat maneuver masturbation festivals. would trade my current vtm campaign for gurps

God, the glee players get when you explain/remind them how they can combine certain maneuvers etc. And why you talked them into the high axe skill dwarf warrior. I think this is why i never like the systems used in Exalted, GURPS did it better and way earlier.

If I was in a safe space I wouldn't be called a retarded nigger as often as I am.
4chan is not a 'safe space' because there is no thought to not upsetting people and there is a regular variety of opinions, oftentimes loudly disagreeing with one another.

>challenge is getting the treasure back to town
has anyone ever actually played this premise? sounds like it could be interesting
>>
>>98403042
Magic made it trivial. The interesting part is that we looted the dire crocodile.

Sold it to the arena.
>>
>>98403042
Once. It's very dependent on the party, system, and crazy shit the players are going to get up to.
>>
>>98403042
I haven't seen a game that actually followed encumbrance/carrying capacity rules in over a decade.
>>
>>98403387
>I haven't seen a game that actually followed encumbrance/carrying capacity rules in over a decade.
I once had an idea of a game that would model the equipment in a more detailed way
rather than the backpack, it would concentrate on pockets and clothing
you could only quickly access items in those slots, while taking anything out of the backpack is an out-of-combat operation
the downside being the available items may be more vulnerable or constrain movement
admittedly it would probably work better as a vidya
>>
>>98403042
People are dismissing you because they're just thinking about the weight of whatever you're bringing back, but going with the literal interpretation of "challenge is getting the treasure back to town" would be an interesting idea regardless of using the encumbrance rules or not.
The idea would be
>go into a place
>the travel to the place isn't a big deal
>the place itself isn't a big deal
>but now you acquired something very valuable that many would fight over to have it
>so on the way back you are attacked by various things
also the terrain could have changed, like an easy road on the way in could have been flooded by a sudden rain and now you have to navigate swamp-like terrain while being hunted. Or a volcano could have erupted or whatever else.

Yes, awkward but valuable treasure as a puzzle piece has been an osr staple for some time.
The gameplay tends to have stricter encumbrance and less easy solutions to environmental problems and a more reactive dungeon encounter table so players have to figure out how to get the silver life sized statue out of the middle of the lake in the dungeon. Mine are currently figuring out how to get a rowboat inside.

>Call of Cthulhu 10 sessions in
>>
>>98403042
It was more of a feature of early D&D. You would raid a dragon's lair and there'd be piles of gold, and shit like marble statues and paintings. It's worth a fortune, but you're up a fucking mountain and each party member has a carry weight of like 150lbs max

If you did want to run with it for a session or two though I'd highly recommend that you do it to low level players. Have them kill something with a lair out of town, make the loot difficult to carry, and then have other creatures and humanoids hear that the beast is dead and its treasure is now basically up for grabs.
If you have a party that likes to think and plan (rare, I know), you can have a lot of fun with just making them work out the logistics of guarding this treasure while they plan runs into town with what they can carry, or pay people who will come take it away for them but for a hefty fee since anyone can see that they can afford it. Throw in some theft, some goblin attacks while they're transporting shit, maybe a local aristocrat figures that since the treasure was on his land it should belong to him- hell maybe it was even his family that got raided for a lot of what went to the hoard. They'll have a great time

Wrong. The fucking designers of D&D back then literally said that rules-lite was more inclusive and if you didn't like it you were a bigot
>>
>>98407886
I would NEVER complain about moderation on 4chan, especially as to do so would violate global rule 8.

On a completely different note, I do wish to say that the town guards of Teegee in this D&D game I am playing are a bunch of oversensitive...mages who wish to cast Alter Self...who came to town from the city of Redditon. They are well known to persecute visitors to the town of Teegee for talking about events beyond the city wall more aggressively than the guards of any other town do, and especially if you attempt to talk about how events beyond the city wall are affecting your hobbies within the town of Teegee. In fact they're well known, in such cases, to arrest only one side of the discussion and censor them while leaving the other side alone.

Do you hear yourself right now? That's about as rules-lite as it's possible to fucking get.

Ah. I haven't gone on /co/ in a long time. It used to be one of my main hangouts along with /tg/ but it just turned into /tv/-lite and I couldn't stand it.

You should quit the HRT pills, troon.
>>

Yeah modern /co/'s pretty awful. Unless you have a specific thread you're looking for it's not really worth trying to sift through the redditor dross of culture war and furfaggotry.

>As people have pointed out, her line actually works since Herc realized he's being just like his dad and that's pretty shameful.
Cope.
That wouldn't even make sense.
>purpose of the interaction is to shame Hercules
>says Hercules was boasting about Zeus
>Zeus presumably doesn't see a problem with how he himself behaves
>she asks Hercules to ask how his father would react
>presumably his father would be content, happy, proud
>therefore Hercules should be ashamed to have his father's approval???
>if he doesn't want his father's approval why would he be boasting about his father? why would he find it shameful to behave like his father if he was boasting about his father?

I know it's cheap to invoke Hitler, but extremes get the point across easily
>How do you think the Hitler you keep boasting about would react to knowing his top guy is acting like fascist dictator hmm?

Makes 0 sense why even bother to cope?
>>
>>98415939
Herc is always proud to be the son of the king of the gods. He likes the image of Zeus, but not the reality. He resents what a lecherous shit Zeus actually is.
She's saying that not knowing what Zeus is like, thinking the father he's proud of would be ashamed of him. He realized his father wouldn't be, and he's just being like the worst aspect of the reality of Zeus.
This is enough to shame Herc into shaping up for the moment.
But you clearly don't know shit about the comics and think you're posting something to fit your culture war bullshit, the same as the retards on /co/ who don't read comics.
>>
>>98415950
>no no you don't get it, she IS wrong and retarded but it just so happens that the fact she is wrong and retarded has the same effect as if she wasn't wrong and retarded!!!!
God just chop your dick off already
>>
>>98415939
I'll argue that it makes some sense for captain whoever to ask that rhetorical question because she's somehow ignorant of the old stories of Zeus. I'll give that about 30% sense. On the other hand, having his alkie asshat attitude pointed out could bring out Hercules' sober side since it was something Megara did not like about him and sought to improve. Maybe that's 70% sense.
At my most generous, it was still a failed knowledge check.

I like how this person apparently concluded that a visible warping at the joining of flesh and metal was the least disturbing way of achieving an automobile centaur. Centcaur.

You either do that or replace the cab with the torso, right? It works the best.
>>
>>98415962
I hope Cassandra and Andromeda fucking despise Michael. Dodge v Ford was a travesty
>>
>>98415979
Replacing the cab seems the most obvious, but even the "living hood ornament" could be more natural looking just by making it a clean seam between the transition, or adding a gasket or something around where the waist emerges. The chestburster effect really makes it all look accidental.

Bingo. I actually liked that scene as character development for both of them.

Hercules really was just some fucking guy for his presence in the Marvel comics. Big, strong, lusty, and otherwise featureless. His struggle with immortality could have been a lot more interesting.

wanting a mechanical arm isn't really that uncommon among nerds
but they usually don't realise just how convenient and sophisticated their biological arm is
mostly the fact that without significantly advanced tech, you would have no feeling in the prosthetic
there's also much more maintenance since the limb doesn't heal itself
the autist here is sort of getting the best of two worlds

Flesh has its limitation, biological wrist can't do full 360 rotation in situ, can't handle hot or cold stuff without additional protection, and while the self-healing is nifty, it comes with permanent degradation like carpal tunnel contraction or arthritis settling in the joints.
Real power play is not getting mechanical arms as a substitute for biological arms, but as an addition on top of biological arms.
>>
>>98416759
>biological wrist can't do full 360 rotation in situ, can't handle hot or cold stuff without additional protection
neither is as important as being able to operate in the dark by touch alone
or for that matter being able to tell whether something is hot or cold so you know to yank the limb away to avoid overheat
even cars have engine thermometers

Ah I see. You just decided to redefine what 'safe space' means so that it suits whatever asinine argument you are making at any given moment.
A preferred environment is not [necessarily] a safe space. If I choose to avoid a garbage dump because it smells awful, that does not make the woods I choose to hang out in a safe space. In the context of an online community, a place in which you are met with opposing ideas that are not immediately shut down and where you can be openly critiqued or mocked is not in fact a 'safe space'. Reddit and most Discord communities actively silence dissenting voices and, as long as you post approved Reddit opinions you will be met with nothing but praise. There is no analogous situation on 4chan because there is no real consensus other than Reddit is for fags (and even that has people who disagree).
I do not know what you wish to gain by trying to convince people that 4chan is a 'safe space' but you are wrong and your argumentation 'strategy' outs you as spiritual kike.
