What is the craziest RPG system you could pair with using the Monster Girl Encyclopedia series as a setting?

The monster girls being able to disguise themselves as humans to go to other worlds to find people has got to put Delta Green and Call of Cthulu in the running for some of the top spots.
>>
Beast: The Primordial

or F.A.T.A.L.
>>
Dark Heresy or Black Crusade if its treated as a near-Daemon World of Slaanesh.
>>
>>98407704
the power scaling gets retardedly high so it'd need to be a supers game probably
>>
Zettai Reido
>>
>>98407807
>Fatal
>hit the monster girls on the head
>they lesbian now, they start preying on each other
Problem solved.
>>
>>98408103
To be fair, half their master plan is to convert all human women into monster girls to outright force humanity to breed with monster girls or go extinct, so making them women hunters would just be accelerating their plans.
>>
>>98408114
This is technically old lore. Modern lore has shifted things so that baseline humans were basically level capped to level 1 and tech capped to the Middle Ages by the OG Chief God unless they got a specific blessing from them or their successor. The Succubus Demon Lord that caused the transformations found that her position could also remove the cap, but human women gained monster traits generally related to their personality because of her being a succubus while guys only picked up tge "Incubus" status that is equivalent to the "Hero" status.

Basically Human+/Human Premium, except for the ongoing glitch where the only children are female, which is stated by author to be solved in about 15-20 years after the encyclopedias' in-universe dates.
>>
>>98408186
Doesn’t make it sound any less apocalyptic, but thank you for the update on said lore, anon
>>
>>98408208
Don't get me wrong. It's still apocalyptic and there is stuff like basically-Mind-Flayer-GFs as well as means of inducing specific monster girl transformations that can impart specific intincts that can affect personalities, naturally or unnaturally, willing or unwilling.

But the type of apocalypse has gone from "sex-berserk hellscape where humanity is doomed to extinction" grimdark type of the earliest stuff to the "everyone is becoming superhuman" type. Only held back a bit from that types excesses because the primary means of powering up is not killing like the Chief God's blessing needs, but instead engaging in intimate moments (most commonly sex but not strictly required to be) with your ideal partner.

Conventional society still does not survive that...but humanity does still survive (in soul and mind if you think the cosmetic adjustments are a bit much to count the body) and something CAN still arise from the ashes instead of being stuck in an eternal hedonist treadmill.
>>
>>98408265
Yeah, fwiw, I am rather thankful for the update, since I can’t really find much on further MGE lore besides any translations of the individual pages. The setting low key fascinates me in how the gooner bait unintentionally made for a far darker and more interesting setting than the creator ever cared about. It’s the kind of thing that taught me how one person’s fetishes are another’s nightmare scenarios and vice versa
>>
>>98407704
WFRP. Or Runequest except the broo are all hot girls and you don't die from fucking them.

To the point he got upset with the western fans not just shutting up and enjoying the cute girls. Probably why he fixed the sexual parasitism angle.
>>
>>98409215
It’s a case where I don’t blame him for being upset at all the needling, but at rhe same time the fallen heroines books definitely did not back up his claims of how it’s all harmless sexy antics instead of being really frigging horrifying existentially

>Beast: the Primordial
Why Beast?
>>
>>98409308
"World Guide I: Fallen Maidens" was absolutely a prime reason for its grimdark reputation, especially after the original attempts to correct the record were in the form of making the Order/Chief God's side worse without fixing the issues with the Monster Girl's side of things.

Lecasite is still admittedly in a bit of an awkward position even with the later lore updates. There's been a lot walked back in general, but just from how few books there are about the setting, that kingdom in particular does have a lot of the old lore lingering in it. It's a more extreme version of Chicago for the Manamo realms, regionally important but you really don't wanna be there if you can in any way not be.
>>
>>98409887
What did you expect after being invaded by monster extremists?
>>
>>98409850
tl;dr - Made by a nonce, every hero archetype is someone that'd likely notice noncery, every beast PoV is justifying abusing others for their own sick kicks and why you shouldn't rat on "Found family" (aka: Members of the Cult)
I know that sounds like culture war bullshit but that's an entirely accurate read of the situation.

Oh and Gamergate was caused by a Spidermonster with Allies 5 (Internet trolls) who can doxx you into non-functionality.
>>
>>98407704
Gang Rape (the freeform system where players describe gang raping someone)
Obviously, you would need a majority of female players.
>>
>>98409850
Beast is the game about playing a supernatural pedophile who molests kids for their own good and the whole world (except evil alt-right chuds) loves you for this. It's honestly the perfect system for representing MGE and its weird apologists.
>>
>>98409919
Apparently that not only half-elves are a thing but they get corrupted into monsters like human women rather than becoming the regular succubi elves.
And that elves will exile their own children for mingling with humans and not take them back even as they starve to death.
>>
>>98409919
Indeed. Is funny that they went from "tge place that's extreme for the Chief God's faction" to "the place that's extreme for the Monster Lord's faction" though.

>What is the craziest RPG system you could pair
What is the measure of craziness?
Could work in Shadowrun as metahuman variants.
Could work in Maid RPG, with group of monstergirls that assembled around human master (that's somehow an exceptional individual and can handle them without breaking).

>>98407942
Better yet - Rogue Trader, don't make it a Chaos thing, just a very peculiar Xeno World the Trade discovers and ask yourself the most essential question - how can we profit from this? Bonus points if your Explorator is so augmented mamonos don't even register him as potential prey anymore and can move around the place unbothered.
>>
>>98412863
>What is the measure of craziness?
The combination of MGE and the system on first glance don't seem like they overlap, but there is something that allows them to do so and therefore the resulting campaign is capable of being played seriously (even if likelier to be played silly).

>>98408283

IMO I think calling it interesting is kind of a stretch from the needling, though admittedly it provokes some thought

KC is a hack writer desu. The only way to go with MGE is inherently to start modifying it by reducing the Monster power-wank or dare I say 'fix it' from the get-go. Because the inherent outcome is just 'game over you lose get raped'.(Unless thats the kind of game you're looking for I guess.)

It would be more thought provoking on how to take what KC left on the floor and figure out how to make it work by whatever means but last time /tg/ made a thread dedicated to Monster Girls was a while ago. Maybe one should make a new thread for /mgw/ start the boilers once more, any takers?
>>
>>98414027
Everyone is John - either as John trying to survive being hunted, or as Jane being one of the mamonos.
>>
>>98414447
same anon, just additional blarble:

IMO It would be one thing too if it was a grimdark hellscape *for everyone*, but it coddles the Mamono so hard both before and after KC changed the content that it really just kind of makes that accidental grimdark apocalypse angle feel less interesting.

One could say thats besides the point, but still I think that the interesting parts of MGE can be siphoned while humans dont have to suck at all.

The sex-berserk hellscape angle is admittedly sorta interesting, back in the old threads I among other anons were making our own homebrew settings and games that were actually something that wasn't just some femdom crapshoot game over simulator.

I kept the sex-berzerk hellscape element but gave humans a fair handshake by fighting back against it AND making humans just as fucking terrifying to the Mamono and Mamono had a reason for not raiding human realms(they could be turned into basically the '''purified'''' version of Mamono ie. slaves for the Order).
>>
>>98414493
As a fan of MGE I generally think that trying to "fix" the setting is a fool's errand and kind of defeats the point.
The setting is an escapist pornographic fantasy, if that wasn't clear from the design in the first place it should've certainly been clear from KC's response.
But then again, I actually like KC's writing, I can't really judge it on a technical level because I can't read it in the actual Japanese, but his research into mythology and classic fantasy and reinterpretation into sexy and visually appealing designs is fun and usually pretty clever.

None of that is to say that you can't write your own monstergirl setting and borrow his designs, because that's fine, and almost certainly a lot better of an idea if you want to roleplay in a monstergirl setting.
But I wouldn't frame it as "fixing" the setting because you're not "fixing" it you're building a new setting to suit your own purposes.

Just my two cents though.
>>
>>98414544
In all fairness 'fix' I guess is a bit of loaded word in terms of what one wants out of it...

I suppose there's no '''right''' way of telling a story outside of the fact it would just seem to do KC well to not worry about what the internet has to say and just write what he wants. For instance he is EXTREMELY paranoid about NTR for one reason or another, not sure if he's being harassed by it or something but its weirdly prevalent as his big irk.

I would just take MGE and Homebrew a shit ton of components and just call it the 'headcanon' of mine anyway I suppose, that was the purpose of the old threads.

Honestly might go ahead and start a thread then, hope OP doesn't mind.
>>
>>98414571
Same anon, thread is up. Again I hope OP doesn't mind it, just thought I might as well revive the thread if anyone is interdasted.
>>
>>98414571
Out of curiosity what do you like about his writing? Not saying you can't of course but just wondering.

I call him a hack writer because basically the actual Fallen heroes and such really just dont paint an amazing picture. Its just not intriguing to me to watch everyone get curbstomped and Elt[YOU] having little personality being the self-insert. But I can't fault others if they really dig that I guess.
>>
>>98410318
>I know that sounds like culture war bullshit but that's an entirely accurate read of the situation.
I've never met anyone on either side of the spectrum who wasn't deeply, deeply uncomfortable with Beast.

>>98414493
As one of the anons who called it interesting, I tend to be the type to find things interesting even in stories that aren’t well-written. I read a lot of isekai slop and read through really obscure indie and 90s era ttrpgs for stuff that can be novel, but I won’t pretend that KC’s writing is great. If it were, he would have realized the big pro in trying to introduce the kind of conflict between the Goddess and the Demon Lord and just kept his work to detailing the gooner bait monster girls, given just how much skub it created from cheering on someone whose intent is to effectively do to humans what humans did to the pug dog because of her inherently corruptive nature. It’s partly interesting to me because of the flaws, not in spite of them.
>>
>>98414664
Fair, I guess I just tend to suggest when bringing up the sort of conflict and the sex-berserk hellscape stuff is that anons would get alot more mileage from it if they gave humans a fair chance imo. The crapshoot femdom simulator, even for those that are into it, quickly runs out of steam as someone whose been around this autism since the first threads poled out. Obviously KC had zero intention of entertaining this, or anything westerners said, and kneejerked farther into trying to dissuade this as possible, fueling more anons to do so, etc.

Call me an HFYfag perhaps, but I see it that the Monster Grils deserve to have a Humanity that can actually make them not only run for their money but keep them afraid of their closets. The conflict in this regard is much more meaty then as Mamono have to earn their prize.
>>
>>98409887
Tbf Chicago is arguably what Lescatie was BEFORE the Monsters invaded, to which it became more peaceful ironically.

Lescatie under King Noscrim was described as a corrupt(not the sexy kind) nightmare shithole where people were like starving to the point of cannibalism.

Basically French Revolution stuff.
>>
>>98414707
Imagine Lizardmen and Salamanders running into humans that weren't just pushovers and actually were terrifying to fight.

The Lady-Lizard-Fear-Arousal would know no bounds!
>>
>>98414664
I think what was interesting was how utterly flabbergasted KC was that people were creating skub over him cheering on the DL and how dumbfounded he was that people were against that.
>>
>>98414707
This would be true if the setting wasn't a porn-logic excuse plot to farm doujinshi from other artists and writers drawing his designs.
KC is really just playing 5D chess to get more porn and I admire that on some level.

>>98414741
The problem with this is if you push this sort of grimdark stuff the setting becomes even more comical than it already is because now you've got a world of sexy-cute monstergirls that just want love getting slaughtered by humans.
Which, in my opinion at least, crosses the line from pornographic to outright tastelessly edgy.
You could rework the monstergirls to be more dangerous to make it less stupid, but by that point, as I said, you're not really keeping the base setting, but creating your own entirely.
In which case you might as well go all the way, and untie it from MGE lore entirely even if you borrow the art, because even as a fan the art is the best part of the setting.
>>
>>98414861
If you want to preserve the appeal of sweet monster girls looking for love raping horribly outclassed humans, I think the best way to do that would be to massively limit the monster girl population. They're strong, but there are dozens for each ten thousand humans. That would mean giving up monsterization though, or at least dramatically changing it.
>>
>>98414861
>This would be true if the setting wasn't a porn-logic excuse plot to farm doujinshi from other artists and writers drawing his designs.
KC is really just playing 5D chess to get more porn and I admire that on some level.

I mean, just as you say, even with its flaws that doesn't mean its not worth it. Just because KC is trying to porn-bait doesn't mean it cant evolve into something more interesting with a powerful humanity striking back.

The problem with this is if you push this sort of grimdark stuff the setting becomes even more comical than it already is because now you've got a world of sexy-cute monstergirls that just want love getting slaughtered by humans.

I was being more in jest really, in reality I would invoke a much more serious tone and in my experience its not comical at all, its a really great way to not only come close to a unilaterally satisfying way to 'fix' the setting and make it less comical than the grimderp rape-hellscape already is.

>Which, in my opinion at least, crosses the line from pornographic to outright tastelessly edgy.

...Yeah I dont see that at all, the setting itself is already pretty comical in terms of looking through a grimdark lense and tastelessly edgy when interpreted that way.

Also speak for yourself, anon, some of us would find sexy-cute monstergirls wanting the whip to be v e r y pornographic.

Maybe I just dont see it how masochists see it, but I just dont see the appeal of being horribly outclassed by the rapist.

Like what less riveting way could there be for your Monster Waifu to only choose you because you're the most convenient pick scrape at the bottom of the barrel? They would immediately give you up if there was a better option, ironically thats more NTR than anything. KC's playing himself!
>>
>>98414938
If you're on par with the rapist, you're kind of obliged to fight back as hard as you can. If they're undeniably much stronger, then you can express submission without reservation. I'd say that the power differential is necessary for all rape fantasies.
>>
>>98414961
Is it tho? I mean you can just be unlucky and *lose* the fight. What if you WIN the fight but the rapist gets lucky and manages to lure you in and stab a horny needly into your thigh? Is it not still rape then when the rapist snatches victory from the jaws of defeat?

To play Devil's Advocate I guess for submissive masochists they just want to feel existentially powerless and not just circumstantial? If its by circumstance than in some way you're invoking that you're submission is undeserved... I know if I am beating the snot out of somebody or more or less 'dominating' them I'd want it to be by my own skill and power and not luck I suppose and I'm not le Dominatrix or De Sade... at least I think I'm not...

>Just because KC is trying to porn-bait doesn't mean it cant evolve into something more interesting with a powerful humanity striking back.
My problem with this line of thinking is that evolving the setting is kind of dumb. It's porn, full stop. The presentation is a bit grandiose, but it's designed to be a treasure trove of KC's love of fantasy and fetishes.
Trying to evolve it beyond what it is would be like writing deep fanfiction about the struggles and life of the delivery guy from Big Sausage Pizza.
If that sounds ridiculous to you, that's how I feel about people trying to turn MGE into a "serious" setting.

>make it less comical than the grimderp rape-hellscape already is
I've never understood this take, like yeah there's a lot of rape, but it's running on porn logic of "impossibly pleasurable sex you didn't know you wanted until you got it."
The rape is never portrayed in any way close to realistic, so the idea that there's some level of hidden grimdark just doesn't make sense to me personally.

>Also speak for yourself, anon, some of us would find sexy-cute monstergirls wanting the whip to be v e r y pornographic.
That's completely fair, although I'd point out those already exist in the setting even if KC doesn't really cover BDSM in his writings specifically.

>>98414938
The newer-ish (I think) lore specifies that monstergirls generally pick men based on compatibility that they can subconsciously sense through demon energy. Ignoring the ones that just aren't that picky in the first place.
Now you can argue that, that's stupid, which fair enough, but it's not like monstergirls just grab the very first guy they see.
The profiles are exaggerated and somewhat unreliable given that they're supposed to be written in-universe and not by an omniscient author.

Friendly reminder to anyone trying to "fix" the setting.

It starts and ends with love.
>>
>>98414989
>My problem with this line of thinking is that evolving the setting is kind of dumb. It's porn, full stop.

I mean I think it doesn't need to be a binary switch or anything, you can have a Monster Girl Encyclopedia derived setting and *not* have it where the Humans are utterly yewsless and even invoke serious elements but still maintain MGE as MGE. It can still be about love, it can still be above Mamono gaining victory.

In my homebrew setting the Monster win... but on Humanity's terms. Its only after Humans basically bring Monsters to their knees, utterly fucking them up but Monsters crawl to humans because they love humans that much that they'll face defeat even its just to see le husbands face one more time. The realization that Monsters love Humans and not just power over them. That is a beautiful take and what I love to see more of.

>the idea that there's some level of hidden grimdark just doesn't make sense to me personally.

Tbh I actually agree, the whole 'accidental grimderp' critique is an interesting interjection of Plot Bunny but I can totally work with an MGE that isn't interpreted as something secretly terribad. The lense is just that, a lense. When you come back down to it the implication, buy KC religiously saying so, is that any unspoken implication should be seen through a lense of benevolent love from mamono.

>>98415018

>kind of defeats the point
The setting as-is cannot tell interesting or varied stories of struggle, combat, and survival because it exists solely for formulaic "femdom rape you didn't know you actually wanted" porn. Which is fine for porn, but if you fags are gonna keep bringing this setting up as the pinnacle of worldbuilding that you think can be made into a TTRPG, then you'll need to accept that major changes need to be made so that you can actually DO anything in the setting.

As the other anon said, default MGE is just instant "rocks fall, you lose" except the rocks are extremely sanitized rape.
>>
>>98415409
Or, you change nothing and the players all play monster girls. They have a lot more agency if you run the setting with no modification.
>>
>>98415424
>rape one human who you are now bound to for your eternal life and only care about having sex with that human anymore
>roll another rapist i guess
Wow, so riveting
>>
>>98415409
For what it's worth, I don't think it's a good setting for TTRPGs, I think it's a good porn setting with some fun ideas.
It's why I'm against trying to kludge it into something that works for RPGs.

I think if you want a setting with monstergirls for an RPG you should start from square one and make something interesting, but I know some people want to just play games and like prebuilt stuff instead.
My own setting isn't what I would call a "monstergirl setting," but it is a setting in which monstergirl-esque creatures can and do exist, but my setting is also just a vague cosmology with little substance because I'm a lazy piece of shit and a crap worldbuilder, so do as I say and not as I do.
>>
>>98415495
And now you've run into the same problem ALL these threads run into: MGEfags don't want to run a TRPG in the setting. They just want to gush over how amazing and flawless it is and take even the most good faith attempt to modify MGE into something workable as a personal attack. It's honestly a really bizarre phenomenon and they've been doing this shit for at least a decade, I don't get it.
>>
>>98415471
You are a powerful monster girl, and you have big ambitions in the world, but you are rooted to protecting your delicate helpless husband who you made alongside your character. You have to go back to take care of your husband and drain his mana often or else you'll become weak. If you invest more into him and making him the happiest man in the world, you progress his transformation into an incubus meaning he has even more mana to give you and he becomes slightly less squishy.
>>
>>98415525
I guess so, I don't know, I'm usually just a lurker and I tend to stay out of generals, so I guess I haven't really seen it.
For me personally I like the setting, but I'm usually pretty good at separating out my degenerate weebery and love of fantasy. I like both, but I don't think that they should necessarily mix.

Honestly the MG Worldbuilding thread would be more interesting if it was less MGE focused and more "how do you handle and design monstergirls in your own setting?" I think that would lead to a lot more interesting discussion and idea sharing, but nowadays worldbuilding threads get a lot of flak, so I'm not sure how that would work out.
>>
>>98415525
Agreed. The whole point of the setting is to introduce scenarios for your preferred type of waifu to dom you and then become your perfect waifu. They're otherwise just too naturally powerful to actually be overcome, and that's not including the fact that over half of them can either brainwash, transform, or otherwise corrupt you into submission without a fight. And even as a fan of that shit, it's far less fun if there's no struggle or ability to fight back. At this point, the only way you could make it remotely even is to introduce some kind of purification counteraction or turn the people fighting against the monsters half-breeds or something that are capable of physically fighting back. But by that point, you've just turned it into Monster Girl Quest, so it's kind of a pointless struggle either way.
>>
>>98415546
Like, serious answer, if you wanted to make MGE either lighter or give it any room for making it a setting for adventuring, you might as well mesh it with a setting like Dog Days, where the conflict between the Goddess and the Demon Lord is at most just a disagreement on how they want to live and all their "wars" are essentially giant LARP competitions where all the damage is non-lethal and any land disputes are treated more like football games. Essentially, you'd need to make it so that the monster girls and non-monster species can properly communicate and live in peace, with the monster girls understanding consent and shit and the humans able to at least temporarily beat back the monster girls even if they can't outright slay them, with stuff like say the dungeon raiding being treated as just a game by the monsters since nobody can be seriously hurt for long.

Though again, that would be straying very far from the original premise, so it wouldn't be worth doing really.
>>
>>98415528
>you are rooted to protecting your delicate helpless husband
But he's not that. The moment a human gets raped he becomes an unstoppable, unkillable Incubus. And also the only other thing on your power level is other monstergirls, and monstergirls are all cosmically compelled by the Demon Lord to respect the rule of First Dibs
>>
>>98415742
>The moment a human gets raped he becomes an unstoppable, unkillable Incubus
Where are you getting that from? Becoming an Incubus takes time, and they're glorified mana batteries. An incubus's purpose is to give his essence to his wife, not to go to adventuer stuff. Even if they are superhuman, they would still be much weaker than their wives.
>And also the only other thing on your power level is other monstergirls, and monstergirls are all cosmically compelled by the Demon Lord to respect the rule of First Dibs
Other monster girls might not steal someone's husband for themselves, but that's not the only conflict they can get into. Consider a monster girl going out to find a rare item to make a gift for their husband. They'd be completing with other monster girls who also want it. Monster girls can also have territory disputes too. Two different monster girls of different species might be considering the same human girl to monsterize. There's not much room for conflict in romance, but there is lots of ways to construct other kinds of conflict.

As a fucking huge nerd about this setting you're both about half right.

Most monstergirls need time to turn a man into an incubus because they have to do it through sex, which usually takes some amount of time. Higher tier monstergirls skilled with demon energy and certain specific monstergirls can do it instantly, though.
And there are a few that say they can do it in a single night due to the sheer amount of sex they have, but it's a bit apocryphal, it could be unreliable narration.

According to the Sabbath World Guide, Incubi are essentially Heroes running on demon energy instead of divine blessing which does enhance their abilities, but it's biased by the monstergirls themselves and tends to raise abilities related to sex and essence production, not typically combat abilities, but that's dependent on the person.
As for how powerful they are, considering heroes regularly lose to high tier monstergirls, Incubi are probably stronger than lower tier monstergirls, but would still lose to large organized groups of them and heroes.
Unless the Incubus is a fighter himself.

if FASERIP can do it, HERO can do it better.

>But by that point you’ve turned it into Monster Girl Quest, so it’s kind of a pointless struggle either way

MGQ humans are useless except for the protagonist. It wouldn’t be a pointless struggle either at all, all you have to do is:
A. Make a purity mechanic
B. Make the humans competent and on par with the monsters

And that’s quite almost honestly it. The problem is like this anon said:

Everytime people come up with a homebrew there really is a kind of weird regiment of gatekeepers that get personally attacked when you propose ideas that are not ‘lose and be raped’. MGE has had a cult following and said fan base really seem allergic to anything that isn’t just waifu powerwank.

If one wants the setting dark, fine, then make it dark for the Monsters too and make them have their own struggles and fear of humans.

If one wants the setting lighter, fine, and honestly the way to go imo for a competent setting. Take the brainwash mind-melting shit and put it in the garbage and go from there.

It really is simpler than people realize, they just get it twisted when people start reeing and going ‘Ackshually you can’t not lose’ and bible thump KC’s work.

I've seen that sorta response build up with other franchises, and it's often a side effect of them being relentlessly attacked early on, or some inaccurate memes get made and everyone outside of it assumes the memes are perfectly accurate - thus creating a very strong defensive reaction after they get tired of it. One that ends up lingering long term past when the original wave of shit they were getting passes.

For MGE, it tends to be pushing the Grimdark on the Monster Girls and putting in a 'they should be killed like animals' style approach. Going for a more Noblebright direction and keeping fights non-lethal via magic or other reasons doesn't tend to bring out the bible thumping.

Pretty much this.
As a fan of the setting who's not quite fundamentalist about it, it gets a bit old that pretty much everyone's "fix" for the setting is making it edgy and sucking all the love and fun out of it.
I'm not gonna get my panties in a twist over it, but it doesn't exactly do it for me.
That and the constant talk about the setting's hidden grimdark and whatever are most likely where the negative response came from.
Both are pretty tired and annoying.

I'm also not saying there's anything wrong with having an edgier monstergirl-setting either, but just don't try and claim MGE is the basis for it, unless your goal is to make fans angry, in which case carry on, I suppose.

As a casual observer, I gather the strong outside response was because the setting went in way hard on the corruption angle at first and left that strong of an impression that people ignore KC’s subsequent attempts to angle it softer in the other regions. Like seriously, if the first being focus was on a place like Zipang or the City of Water instead of a frankly terrifying place like Lescatie, I doubt people would have raised more of a fuss beyond “oh it’s just porn with monster girls”

>the inherent outcome is just 'game over you lose get raped'.
That is where you are wrong, one cannot rape the willing.

The Witcher.
You exist in a kinda shitty world where monsters need hunting and to do it effectively you're going to be a shunned mutant.
The Monsters aren't always guilty either, so it's on you to protect both worlds. Preperation is everything, because they have magic and hide that deflects arrows and you have naught but human wit.
>>
>>98416432
Sure that's nice and all, but then what the fuck are they doing trying to evangelize their shit here if they know the exact reaction they're going to get? Especially if they get so mad even when people DO try to play ball with them and workshop a playable version of the setting? What the fuck are MGEfags trying to get out of these threads if they're going to just get assmad at legitimate attempts to build a TRPG out of the foundation of MGE?

on top of that, Geralt is super horny so you can just throw in the legally distinct "Beralt of Trivia, Warlocker, the Dark Dog, The Grocer of Glakiven" character with all the same traits and you're ready for a morally complex lewd game where it's always "lesser evil this, People are monsters that" in the same breath as a fiendgirl having a nonconsensual night out on the entire town
>>
>>98414544
I mean the easiest way to do things is simply to make the girls non-monogamous. The whole "They're only attracted to their true love" thing is what makes it a fantasy, if they simply fuck and kill men, that's something else entirely.
>>
>>98419709
At that point you're just making your own setting because that fundamentally breaks the lore of MGE in several different ways.
Another reason why I don't really think MGE should be the gold standard of monstergirl setting design, even though it was one of the earliest, most popular, and has some of the best visual designs and art.
It's simply too fundamentally tied to its roots as an purely escapist fantasy.
To reiterate, as much as I like MGE, I think it's a really bad setting for RPGs and a really fun and goofy setting for erotica.

I don't even think it's visually the best tbqh. Too many feel like copypastes of the same body shape with different animal bits tacked on.
