What's the best way to work fetishes into a campaign that wont scare away newer players? everyone seems a bit too touchy and squeemish when they're starting out. Specifically I want them to think not every game is going to be bizarre, in the off chance they get too weirded out. Get them to hang onto the campaign and not bounce off before they get a chance to shine and have fun, ect. If this is a hot take idk, but I feel like the strange is what makes campaigns and groups memorable for years to come, gives them flavor.
I am going to punch you.
>>98410716Is this alleged campaign in-person or over the internet? This is vital information for advice to follow.
>>98410749Why would that change things? without objectionable flavor in your fantasy then things become too generic.
>>98410716If you have to ask you'll never know.
>>98410765Because I'm shitposting and was going to tell you to just whip your dick out and put it on the table if it was in-person.But you answered my question with a question and I'm too lazy to come up with a plausible answer to make it seem like I'm actually trying to be helpful in this dumb thread.
>>98410765>without objectionable flavor in your fantasy then things become too generic. So not just an edgelord, but a pretentious edgelord.
>>98410774You seem to be filled with assumptions about things you do not understand.>>98410773It's a rather deep topic if we keep going. I garner the notion that nobody on /tg/ has really thought about the subject seriously before.
The whizzard returns. Stop inflicting your horrible fetishes upon your players.
>>98410716You can have strange without including fetishes. Also, et cetera is etc.
>>98410716Don't add obvious vanilla slop like nudity or intercourse, anything depicted subtly enough can have plausible deniability
>>98410716Why would you want to do that?
>>98410765How so? You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Ask yourself, what objectionable material you are trying to put in and why do you have the need to practically force it onto your players? Who are your players, at that? Are they your friends? Acquaintances? Fellow hobbyists? Regardless, the first rule is to keep in mind tabletop gaming is a shared leisure activity you engage in to entertain yourself and others in a social setting. As the GM, and therefore the host, you are compelled by basic decorum to ensure the players enjoy themselves as much as you do, not antagonistically force things they won't enjoy on them.tl;dr: Don't put fetish content in just to creep your players out. Do put fetish content only if you know they're also into it.
>>98410716How about NOOO!!!This screams tourist who want to roleplay their sex fantasies with others but not let them know.
>>98410716H R gieger seemed to manage it, but it probably depends on the fetish
>>98410716Fundamentally you have two options:a) slow corruption, push boundaries in stages, once they get used to one thing subject them to something slightly worse (eg. graphical description of grievous injuries)b) make it a bad guys thing, that neither you nor players should endorse/approve of, it's just underlining how bad the bad guys really are (eg. rape)
>>98410785>You seem to be filled with assumptions about things you do not understand. Why do you speak like a wizard? Anyway have you tried using the Mind Goblin approach?
>>98410765>i.e. there is no gameok we figured already
>>98412183I can’t imagine how autistic this would seem irl lmao. Sitting around a table and you notice over the course of a year all the freaky shit gradually get worse as if it’s not obvious when the sperg behind the DnD screen starts describing guro or vore or a giantess fantasy or whatever, as if the players are innocent lambs and not just people trying to play a game without the DM making it about what they search the catalog for on /d/.
>>98410716>What's the best way to work fetishes into a campaign that wont scare away newer players?A fetish for CURVACEOUS women of VARYING RACES that are deeply loyal to their partners in MARRIAGE is an easily disguised fetish. Nobody goes>wait, why is every word the queen says about the king filled with love and adoration? I bet anon is beating his meat under the table
>>98414724Whatever happened to FAT DOG WIFE Anon anyway, is he still around and just dropped the gimmick or did he leave?I'm assuming that you're not him and are just making a reference, but if you are actually him, I'm glad you're still around. I always thought his harmless funposts brought some levity to a board that sorely lacks it sometimes, especially nowadays.
>>98410716Have a normal fetish. Like nobody's going to care if I put monster girls in my campaign at my table because everyone loves monster girls unless you're a colossal dickless faggot.
