We all have one. The game you've been trying to find a table willing to try for years. Maybe it's just too wild or too unusual for your usual group, or you haven't found the right system yet.
Mine? An all-dragon campaign, with domain level play baked in. I want to go from "Spyro style adventures" to "sacking cities and leading armies"

You're talking about Council of Wyrms.
What you actually want is Council of Wyrms mixed with Birthright.

What's your dream game?

I had a quite literal "dream game" a couple nights ago. It was an RPG system heavily inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit but just a little less child friendly. Swears & death & the like. The game in my dream had the party coming across a bootlegging operation under a run down theater. Players could play as toons, humans, or hybrids (often humans with toonforce but there were other options). iirc it was heavily a d6 game with some d20 rolls, I just recall a LOT of six-sided dice, so exploding dice was probably a rule

Four players of completely different levels of experience with RPGs and very different tastes, coming together at one table, playing through an adventure of my design in a system of my design, and each enjoying themselves more than they have playing any other game.

The good kind of steampunk with the right sort of players.

>people who read Wings of Fire as tweens are late 20s now
This is a terrifying feeling

I always dream of d6 games.
Next morning I barely remember the details but it was clearly D6 mechanics.

Look into Levi Kornelsen's Hoard.

My dream game is basically the movie Heat, where the players are De Niro's crew. Maybe mixed with the Shield a little.
Nobody has ever, EVER wanted to attempt this with me.

The age of someone who grew up playing the Nintendo 64 is now an average of 65 years old now.

Tons of them.

1. Blades in the Dark campaign in a semi-fantasy version of New York somewhat close to reality and placed in the 1920s with Black Hand, Prohibition, art deco, and stuff. Inspired by MtG Streets of New Capenna. With some quests inspired by gothic novels such as Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and Carmilla.

2. Some historical Rome campaign with politics, fighting formations, historical speculations and mysteries (lost Alexandria texts, Roman dodecahedron, Silphium plant etc.), exploring the unknown with unseen beasts and alien nations, learning some things about the past for verisimilitude. I’d rather be a player than GM.

3. Slugbluster. Just a campaign of Slugbluster, only with the implication that there is only one other world and players visit different parts of it.

4. Campaigns inspired by Silver Age CRPGs such as Arcanum, Fallout 1-2-T, Morrowind. Maybe with friends, maybe with randoms. It is not really a dream-dream, certainly more possible than other entries on this list, but still.

5. Darks fairy tales campaign with not just adventures, but also with court politics, conflicting realms and domain play. Strongly inspired by old fairy tales, where players can take not just human roles, but be talking animals, giants, nobles, and even living items. Like Bluebeard, Puss in Boots, and Cinderella can appear at one table. Or getting a happy ending for The Little Mermaid will result in actual political wedlock. Maybe citizens will be prohibited from eating fish? Or their heirs will need to somehow rule both sea and land? No Happily Ever After. Probably in my own YZE-based homebrew.

6. Generational superhero campaign which includes real historical events and famous potlines from both DC and Marvel. Not sure about the system, maybe just 2d6 improv.

7. Action movie campaign like Die Hard, Commando, John Wick, James Bond. Maybe Outgunned?
