Dear Seiren,

after redrawing my plans from scratch, my archenemy finally fell into my clutches. In the end there was no need for a martial arts contest to lure him out, not when I could beat him at his own - that is, a former Toreador's - game: I summoned him with the Gift of Caine of fascination.

The plans for what to do with him also needed a complete overhaul.

The first reason is that I had to request an audience with the Cainites' most powerful adversary in the contest for the control of Korea, who goes by the name Emperor Haneunim, to inform him a Samedi had infiltrated his Green Court.

In so doing, your elder sister Spider Lily, besides offering some gifts, had to kowtow. I had done no such thing before any creature living, dead or undead in over four centuries, with the sole exception of the spirits of my Ancestors.

My nemesis must pay for this, in addition to his interminable list of sins, which means the sweet release of death, if it even possible at all for him, will have to be delayed, indefinitely so.

The second reason is that, Sirio "Boy Toy" Ascari, formerly a mortal, a Toreador, a wraith, and a Samedi, returned as a revenant this time. This odd miscreant matches both definitions of revenant: the kine's - one who came back from the dead - and the Cainites' - a ghoul who generates vitae within.

Consider, sister, how similar that philosopher's surname sounds to Asukai (飛鳥井), a family of poets, calligraphers, intellectuals, practicioners of our own football game, kemari. In my line of work it is difficult to believe in coincidences.

I will thoroughly investigate and surpass the limits of his tolerance for pain, humiliation and the study of kanji, then publish papers on all the knowledge I can squeeze out of him, and once this animal is done being domesticated, I'd like to repurpose him as Asukai Shiryu (飛鳥井紫龍), first of the Asukai family of revenants, scholarly vassals to our own, the Asano.

We will meet again soon.

Your elder sister,

"I did this FOR SCIENCE™" is what big sis always says!!

There's a chance we're lost in translation. The usual translation for Western Alchemy in Japanese is 錬金術 (renkinjutsu) literally means "the art of refining/smelting metal/gold", but there's 錬丹術 (rentanjutsu) too, which replaces the kanji for metal with the one for cinnabar/improvised medicine, the word for the Chinese (Daoist) Alchemy...

I just think Mr. FearTheOldBlood inspired big sis to seek a Thaumaturge who could teach her to transmute dirt into bones - if not whole bodies - to animate them with Necromancy later, whichever the correct name of the path or ritual making the first step possible may be...

Used to be I'd just wait for a herd of deer and tackle the slowest one. Now that I'm going to be living in the city I'm going to find some blood dolls, people who can keep their mouth shut about it. Preferably ones that taste better than deer. Maybe the odd druggie so I can expand my perceptions, I did like smoking pot in life.

Oh, I was suggesting to attempt to reanimate dirt directly, creating some kind of clay golem/zombie. I mean dirt used to be living matter, so it'd be possible, right?
>Wasn't the Jyhad supposed to be against Thinbloods?
The jyhad is against the antediluvians if I'm not mistaken.
>>
>>98423999
>The jyhad is against the antediluvians if I'm not mistaken.
The Jyhad refers to the countless power struggles between ancient Kindred, played out in the nightly interactions between younger Kindred who are often unknowing pawns in the great game. It isn't really against Thinbloods, or Antediluvians, or any specific group of Kindred, but an eternal dance for supremacy between hidden masters whose ultimate goals are unknown.

Oh, THAT bullshit. Even when you try and stay out of it it draws you in. Recent events in Manitoba prove it. We kick every sect out of Winnipeg and the Sabbat leader of all of Canada says, "as long as the Camarilla don't have it," played right into his cold dead hands.
>>
>>98424287
No. Old vampires just didn't understand etymology. The same people that want you to believe that jihad
(noun. a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty) means vampire politics also want you to believe the Clan that loves Carthage is named the Spanish Word for witch. And let me remind you, if Carthage HAD survived into(almost) modern nights then most likely Rome would have not achieved hegemony, would not have conquered the Iberian Peninsula, would not have spread Vulgar Latin there, which means SPANISH AS WE KNOW IT WOULD NOT EVEN EXIST.
>>
>>98424679
Technically. Jihad means "struggle" and can refer to secular and mental struggles as well as ones of religious hedgemony, the night to night struggles between kindred follow that definition quite well.
>>
>>98424679
Maybe the Punic word for Witch was Brujah.

Okay, I decided on my username. I think it's pretty good!
>THREAD QUESTION
I have pretty good access to animal blood and they're easy-ish to sneak up on and accept the bite as well as humans do. It's foul but at least every animal tastes different - gotta look on the bright side ectect. For any Kindred that are interested I've found that pigs are the closest tasting to humans but only if you can get it fresh. Also it takes a lot more then you'd think it would and it's pretty hard to keep down so prep for needing extra and cleaning up a mess if you throw it up. Never drank a primate (Unless the few humans I had before I figured out the whole animal blood thing) and I don't really plan on it. I am curious if they taste more like humans though, just to know.
>transmute dirt into bones - if not whole bodies -
...I was just thinking if Caine is a Kindred and God made Caine, then God would be a Kindred too. And God made people from dirt and clay so maybe if the Tzi did it as well then it's be evidence of that. I feel like my random thoughts might have inspired something that's not too good for the Camarilla if it ever happens. Huh.

You know God is supposed to be all around us but no one sees em. I can sorta do that too.

Back on my card bullshit! Ground rules for Tarot reading requests:
>You can ask a full question, or just list the subject and let the cards work; less specifics mean more card freedom
>"Will I find love in Los Angeles?" or "Will I be safe in Los Angeles?" works, so does "Los Angeles?" or "Love?" or "Safety?"
>I tend to go for anywhere from three to seven questions elaborating on what you ask, one card per question
>The cards give meaning, and I'll interpret them, but you can interpret them differently. They don't often do the whole 'if you wage this war a great empire will fall' trick, they try to be helpful and honest
>The cards won't tell you where Cain is, but they're also better than you'd think, be reasonable in what you expect
>Be nice or I'll ask them when your dick will rot off
>If you want on-retainer readings and guidance, pay me money, these are freebies I give out as advertisement of my immensely useful services
I actually draw cards, either physically or digitally if I don't have a deck on me. Cards that are pulled are the cards that are pulled, I don't intently set up some sort of outcome.

>>98417615
Shuuure, babes! I'll keep it simple, just to one card for now, I don't want them getting too uppity about readings for you too erly.
>How's our certainly bipedal and perhaps human-shaped sorcerer going to do on his trip through the woods, on which we'll embark, like, soon?
Ace of Pentacles - Upright. New start; chance for great earnings and winnings; a chance to improve your financial situation and your security.
HM.
HMMMMMMMWhat the fuck.
Guess we'll see.

>Or worse, had masters outside of we Cainites.
Who'd be making giant spiders though? We'll probably need to dig through the pile of South American records our Sire kept, same ones Lavender vandalized to find the accounts of that tzimmy-blood-vial plague thing. If giant spiders would be actually a thing anywhere, it'd probably be Brazil. Cursed country.

>...am i going to have to fight...him...?
I mean, prolly, you're the Sabbat after all.

>Is the Horseman trapped by his nature?
Four of Pentacles - Reversed. Letting go; release of control; generosity.
>Is the Horseman's hangups with the Sabbat why we have a Brujah baddie to chat with?
The Hanged Man - Reversed. End of a period of stubborness; or, perhaps, hanging onto things insistently; refusal to let go and accept change, a pattern. A confusing card at the best of times.
>Horseman and Stripper, a violent resolution or neh? THE HANGED MAN - UPRIGHT. What the fuck. Pause; surrender; a new perspective.

Right. Okay. Two Major arcana in a row isn't unheard of, but the same one, a reverse and an upright, is pretty neat. I shuffle the cards decently well, so, whoop.

As for an interpretation... Iiiiiif I had to guess, the cards are saying that for a while the Horseman really was defined by some sort of patterns and obsessions, Sabbat included, but he's beginning to let go of it, or perhaps could. You, however, are a remnant of one such set of fixations, or perhaps a result of him abandoning those fixations. And least lucky for you, no violent resolution will solve whatever's going on between you two - it will instead be a struggle solved by somebody leaving it, instead. Breaking the wheel instead of spinning with it, finding a way to get it off of its fucking axis, whatever.

But you could interpret them differently, babycakes.

>For the free tarot card reading, do you foresee me finding any magical artifacts in my future? Should I maybe try something else if that's a bad idea? Magic must defeat magic so maybe this is a good way to find something.
Why not! If it's an evil item I'm not responsible, 'kay?
>Will the new guy find any magic items in the near future?
The Hermit - Reverse. Isolation from aid; ignorance towards guidance; refusal to grow and to branch out from what's familliar.
>Should he try something else?
The Fool - Upright. New beginnings; carefree; a new phase in life.
>Is magic really the secret to beating magic?
Six of Cups - Upright. Reconnection with loved ones; cherished memories; a drive to embrace simpler and better things in life.

Hmmm. I'd guess the cards are saying it's a long shot to find the sort of bling you want, and trying something new is very much a good idea; all the while, at least in your conditions, the answer to 'how do I beat magic?' lies in embrace of things most Kindred kind of abandon. Whether there's some sort of fucky power to it, or you'll just be better off lowering your head before it's caved in, who knows.

And, as usual, you too can piece together meaning out of them. Just don't flatter or overcriticize yourself as you do it.

Glad you're having fun here!

I've never had a 'usually.' In hindsight. Living in a degenerate and idiotic chantry I had to keep a low profile to avoid my 'peers' as much as kine hunters. As much as it pains me to admit, using Cognis Mentis once to fleece a bloodbank once a week was much less risky than attempting to use it more regularly on people. Especially while Sanchez was racking up a body count and the Hand was being a diablerizing dominating CUNT.

>attempt to reanimate dirt directly, creating some kind of clay golem/zombie. I mean dirt used to be living matter, so it'd be possible, right?
Perhaps it was not your intention, but in your message I am detecting a materialistic thinking that is ill suited to multiple Traditions of Blood Sorcery, especially Necromancy.
Ask yourself: this dirt may have been living matter, but whose living matter was it? Whom am I raising? In Necromancy we always start with the spirit, especially when the spirit is something one would have to introduce from without.
But you can also take the case of a Thaumaturge animating some kind of assistant made of common household objects found in his laboratory. It's the power within his blood that moves it, that bond is spiritual, and that is the reason the caster knows he can trust it. It's the power of his own unliving spirit, and not some emergent property that is supposed to show up when you correctly arrange matter.
>>98424287
I understand your frustration when these stories are used to pit Cainite against Cainite - or quasi-Cainite in the case of thinbloods. The Jyhad is the whole war, the prophecies and what to do about them one are one of its battlegrounds.

Why does everyone assume we're going to fight BECAUSE we're in the Sabbat? I'm just worried about some Bishop sending him after me. That's the thing, right? Everything my Sire's Packmate, the Opera Lady, has told me about him he was always driven to cary out his orders. Like, not even malicious compliance woukd cross his mind if he was upset by them kind of driven. So, what other reason coukd some Napoleanic Krutzreiter like that have for embracing a 21st century exotic dancer? He isn't horny, the man killed his Sex Drive along with his humanity. The way I see it, it has to be the only way he can lodge a complaint with his bosses without betraying everything he has been for centuries, right?

Small population-wise but an important shipping hub for all of North America, things moving across Canada usually go through Winnipeg. This means organized crime in the area is very lucrative, and both the Cammies and Sabbat are best described as organized criminal cartels. Losing Winnipeg would be a considerable blow to any drug smuggling or cargo theft ventures.

>News from Juarez
My new Parliment is still growing but we're doing well enough. Big enough that we've had to ahhh contract security and big enough that the Don, the head of the Dragons in Juarez hasn't tried to have me dug up in the morning light again. I have sent him a letter and I await his responce. As of this evening, I have Raven, my Malkavian, and about another Dozen of the Clan here with me. Admittedly only one approaches my age but you must work with the materials at hand. The Tzimisce seem content to hole up in their masters mansion, I doubt there are any of Strength there except the Don himself, maybe his direct Childe. I'm hoping that if we can cooperate, we can be an example to the Camarilla that the Clan of the Dragons can and should be a Valuable Addition to our ranks. The over-reliance on the over-weened Tremere has only lead to a impediment of the Masquerades, often to the Blood Mages own growth. I would be hard pressed to think of a more trecherous lot, and one I would gladly be rid of. If we must accept some Noddist provisions in order to convince our Draconic Brothers that we are as firmly aligned against the Monsters of History, let us show the Humility that have learned thru the Masquerade for a change.

Sadly, in my spate of letter writing I had none left for the Lasombra in Juarez. While El paso is crawling with the Shadow Witches, We have managed to clean the streets of Juarez at least. The last of the shadow witches in Juarez ended this morning at the Sunrise.

This evening, I sent out letters, I have mixed the ink thick with India and the Ashes of Shadow. I have rallied and chidded our cousins. I have achieved Praxis over Juarez, there are none who challenge me here. There are none who remain who oppose. At my Wrists sit the Crime Baron and the Legal Law, at my feet lays the much suffering Mary and her Shadow, the Santa Muerte lays besides mine. We will uphold the Masquerade, and we will Transform Juarez from the shithole that Sabbat has forged into a jewel of four million people, where the growth of the Kine and Kindred happen in lockstep.

Now I am not ignorant of where I am. I welcome my Gangrel Brothers and I offer 300 and 400 returns to our High Clan Ventrue who can see fit to bring the liquidity needed to uplift this town, to forge the kind of growth that used to only exist in gold rush towns. This shall be our new west, our new home, in the South for our Camarilla. We shall show by Example, the Wealth and Success the Camarilla brings and how that brings the Wealth of Blood to those who uphold our Traditions. As a Former Sabbat Land, I offer Amnesty to the Pacts that wish to Partake in our Bounty, as long as they follow the Masquerade. I also regret to say that the Shadow Witches and the Leech, the blood theurgists, The Ministry, Those who profane thru Art or Sorcery will all be killed on sight. You are not welcome. To everyone else who can follow the masquerade, who is not afraid of hard work, who follows the traditions. You will have a home and hunting here. We will be a City of the Future,

King of Pentacles - Upright. Great security; wealth and abudance; reliable leadership and protection.

Seven of Swords - Upright. Use of wisdom; application of common sense; logic and good judgment.

Seems like the game outlook is moderate, there's no immediate major threat from whoever's running it, but you maybe ought to reconsider whatever games of chance you play, because they're innately underhanded, fucky, filled with dangers.

I have a fairly varied diet and I will soon be able to add ghosts to it. I already had my first bite.
It felt in my mouth very soft, like whipped cream. The temperature was cooler, similar to the kind of gelato artigianale that would be topped by that cream, and as to the flavour, I can compare it only to liquid smoke, yes it was that smoky, plus some strong chile pepper and high quality black pepper.
Now the challenging part is learning to convert the victim's essence into proper nourishment, but its shock, pain and horror give me a superlative motivation.

>I figured you could shove any spirit into any old corpse to make it move.
The first version of such power that a Necromancer learns requires a willing spirit. It's not that difficult to achieve this, since spirits, being neither here nor There, often jump at the opportunity to walk in this world again. Having a spirit-centred point of view makes you ask: is this body I made a suitable home for this spirit?
Our conversation was inspired by a fantasy book's necromancer turning a portion of a continent into walking bodies. Though a pile of dirt may have biological origins, it may also be difficult to move in.

If I learned transmutation maybe I could reshape dirt and change it into something more durable and intuitive for a spirit to move in. How do steel zombies sound? Reminds me of the primary reason I learned Vicissitude: not to craft flesh, but bones.

Oh, for the love of Confucius. You, Sorcerer, must be a pessimist! You write like generations of Anglo-Saxon thinkers in their endless, unilateral, Quixotic war for the abolition of the family.

I just can't shake this memory. It was when my Sire first presented me to the Sabbat. Some burned out warehouse or siomething with a little stage set up with an alter andva podium, a Bishop delivering a Sermon, and just to the Bishops right and one step down was the Horseman in all his obsidian splendor, Sword resting point down and hands crossed on the hilt. The ONLY thing that moved were his eyes.

I was transfixed. I coukd see everyone recognized him. Everyone was terrified of him. I was just another face in the crowd and I felt so important because the guy that made me a vampire was right there doing nothing and was competing with the Bishop for attention. I was his. I was SPECIAL.

Then his eyes stopped scaning the room. They just locked on some guy. At first, the guy didn't notice. Then he pretended he didn't notice. Then he pretended badly. Then he started bawling. You ever seen Hook? You know that scene where Captain Hook gets a pirate to break diwn crying and confessing he doubted the Captain? It was like that, but all Horseman did was just stare at this guy. And his big crime? He couldn't find the trowel he was supposed to use to slop the ghouls, so he fed them from the Bishops chalice and he didn't even wash it out with the sacred ungents, only soap and water!

Then there was this whole big scene of this vampire crying on hus knees, hugging tge Bishop's legs like he had commited some mortal sin, and the Bishop just stroking his head going "there, there..." and forgiving him on the spot. That bawling vampire was so motivated he bagged three hounds himself on the next raid to make up for his "fuck up."

I'm still not sure if the Bishop and the Horseman planned that...or if the Bishop hadn't forgiven the guy if the Hoseman would have gotten his own "Boo Box."

I'll be the first to admit it's going to be a hard sell as they say, but even the templars were not not immune from betrayal. I'm sure that there's a lot of forces at all levels of the Camarilla who owe the Tremere all sorts of things, and the Tremere in their wisdom have landed all sorts of insults on their perceived lessers. Tremere have only ever played at being Vampires, they are not of Caine and they will gladly tell you as much. I am simply giving everyone a chance to consider who our allies might be, outside the chance at-handness of the Tremere during the Council of Thorns. Had our elders our current communication ability, and the half milenia of experiance with them since, perhaps things would have been decided differently.

Speaking of bones, what if you made a life-sized Japanese ball-jointed doll out of bone and sinew? That would be a heck of a durable zombie. You could plate it in steel too and paint it however you like. If I was a ghost I'd be thrilled to haunt a real-sized flesh-and-bone BJD.

In other news I get my new house tomorrow but I've already run into a bit of a snafu, see it turns out a Tzimisce autarkis already lives in my new neighbourhood and doesn't want to share (who could blame him). So I might have to flip this house and find a different neighbourhood to live in. He claims he's the voivode of all Transcona, but nobody has heard of him (since he's an autarkis) and he's considerably older and more powerful than me so a fight is out of the question. Maybe I'll move to Dugald, Oakbank, or St. Adolphe instead, somewhere just outside of town so Gwyllgi can run free in an acreage. Kind of sucks and not in a good way. Damn.

It would seem quite a few members here eat quite poorly. I make it a point to always show up to any public event with the blush of life active, and refusing any offer of refreshment for the duration.

The trick is not to call attention to what you are doing. Let those with they eyes to see, see. Let the blind remain so.

Of course, this was a bit easier when I had a herd to feed from. Now my herd have become my ghouls, and added three military working dogs as well. That is a lot of Vitae, especially as they are warriors and so I strive to keep them full and ready at all times, rather than the occasional drop for a job well done most regnant's provide. And since they are currently practicing...I have had little choice but to head into the swamps and waterways, gorging myself on inferior blood. At least for now. Mina is handling some paperwork, looking to expand my charitable houses, so I can get a new herd.

Come to think of it, she should have been back by now...

I live off the ghouls and they in turn live off the rats and carcasses the people above throw down here, usually roadkill or animals that bear signs of ritual use (ewww). Sometimes the carcasses look like people. In those cases, the ghouls have the grace to wait a few hours before digging in. The ones who've been here the longest tell me they used to cook their food but they ran out of fuel to burn long before I got here. It's to my advantage. The taste of blood helps me keep the sour flesh down.

I eat with them of course, you have to keep up appearances. They thought nothing of my abstention at first but going over a week and a half without eating anything starts to strain credulity, especially in the absence of any physical signs of malnourishment.

Big if true. Do you prey on ghosts or elemental spirits?

>>98422112
Mithras was/is a powerful Venture Methuselah whose roots go back to ancient times. He was widely worshipped in the ancient world as the living embodiment of the Sun. His childer are said to have a greater resistance to fire and sunlight than the common Cainite. He is thousands of years old at minimum if not older.

I say all of this as preamble because a young vampire upstart happened upon a torpid Mithras one day. Seizing on this opportunity, he diablerized the Methuselah. I don't know the specifics of what followed but soon after that, a brand new Mithras was seen walking the shadows of London in the body of the upstart.

Diablerie may not be the clean cut way to seize power we tend to think it is

As for the Jyhad, you have a point there.

The Nagaraja practice a form of Necromancy, VIA VITREA, that allows them to feed on wraiths almost as if they were more ordinary prey, moreover they can absorb and use the "entropic energy" - as they call it - wherever death is common or recent, such as a murder scene, even when there is no wraith. Beyond that, this doesn't seem to be of any consequence for the ones you would call elemental spirits.
I am studying this power as my ghostly scribe types this message. While less impressive, more basic powers of VIA VITREA synergise well with those from less exotic Necromantic paths.
>>98435483
>>98435517
Alas! I can no longer locate that little Cainite that taught me doll making in exchange for lessons on the Japanese tea ceremony! She had an encyclopedic knowledge of dolls, including those modern ball-jointed one I know little about.

Very well, after VIA VITREA and Boy Toy, my next area of research will be on zombies and how to improve their physical, chemical and mechanical properties. This could give my younger sister Star Lotus plenty of opportunity to practice - and, well, to play with dolls, I suppose.

conquest will always be insufficient to truly master a city, the land itself and the people must accept change
you will require a citadel. an alamut for yourself and your people.
likewise you must ensure balance between yourself and the children of set. what is taken prompts return. mexico is still a country where you can 'requisition' wealth from the unjust, and cut red tape as needed.

So I did some digging and the Voivode of Transcona isn't (immediately) related to me, they're apparently (according to a local Nossie) a descendant of Sasha Vykos and broke off from the Sabbat 76 years ago. I'm still going to try a peaceful resolution that doesn't involve me moving back out of the city, but it doesn't look good, he is VERY territorial, no other vampires have been living or feeding in Transcona in recent memory so I thought it was empty, I had no idea about this guy. The Sabbat and Anarchs must have known about him, but they're all dead now, so I have all the info I can get on him. I don't even know the guys name he just appeared before me, introduced himself as the Voivode of Transcona and demanded I leave as he "would not suffer usurpers." I'm not even trying to usurp him, but I don't know where he lairs to go and see him and convince him we could easily coexist. Anyone got any advice or ideas? Maybe HalfSeeingEye could do a reading for me?
>>
>>98443270
Well since he's living in Winnipeg were gonna need to deal with him eventually. And since he's claiming he's a Voivode we can probably get him to at least pay his dues for city maintenance. With like, actual money maybe. I been running tabs and since we're basically 50% gangrel they all just wanna do volunteer stuff. Don't know if he'll budge tho if he's that fuckin territorial.

I can walk through with some of the ferals and see about talking. I can even whip up something to track him directly but that'll take a few days and needs me to get primo blood.

That said if you and the welshwolf need a place to crash I got a

I've been sleeping in the trunk of my car. It's been working for me since my new form fits nicely if I curl up, I've got some blankets, a lot of pillows, my special dirt, and it's completely sunproof. Very cozy, but I could park nearby if you want the company. I let Gwyllgi wander the park during the day so he doesn't overheat in my car. Espurr could use a cool place to sleep during the day however, as they are a walking masquerade breach.

If you can get the Voivode to sit down and talk with me that would be wonderful. I'm such a high generation that comparatively I need little blood to function and I'd like to convince him of that, I'd only need a single ghoul and five blood dolls, and the population of Transcona is 43,025 according to the 2021 census, barely a drop in the pond. You know dragons though, avarice runs in the blood.

I agree that we'll need to talk to him about pulling his weight in the new regime, or lack there of, so maybe kill two birds with one stone, we all meet him together.

I'm in quite a bind if he doesn't see reason, as it might take more than a month to sell the new house, I was lucky I found buyers so quickly on my old one in Neepawa.

>"What."
>"We should stay here." I liked the lamp post very much. It was better than home. Symmetrical, proper, an island of quiet in a sea of not. Things of the woods weren't around anymore. At least, we didn't hear the chittering, or the cracking of distant trees, or the irregular, rare steps of something on the leaves.
>And the lamp post made my head not quite quiet, but the noise was for once not discordant. Paths converged. I could start peeling back the layers of its obscurity, to gaze into how it was made, and by who, and how it got here, and just as I was about to find out a few little secrets, Schirchgün, who, if I understood the situation correctly, had trouble with getting home and doubled back to find us, broke the lamp post.
>That was apparently the second choice! The first was trying to violently shake me out of a stupor, after which Serenny suggested violence as the solution.
>The lamp post was formidable, but our Schirchgün was yet moreso, and tore into the remarkably thick metal.
>I felt nauseous enough to vomit, but, you know, empty stomach, so I just kind of vaguely collapsed against a tree. The lamp post was torn down, bit by bit, and I could only watch as its guts were strewn about.
>Very plentiful guts, for a lamp post. I'm, like, not a tech person, or not much of one, anyways, but it definitely felt a bit odd.
>Fortunately, we did have a tech person at home, so Serenny and Gün grabbed some at my (dry heaving-interspersed) suggestion.
>Our limping to the manor was initially very slow on account of me being still under the weather. The minute or so of peace given to me by the lamp post was paid for with such an intense backlash that I was nearly useless.
>Up until every single path I saw ended in giant spider.
>>
>>98444205
>We were limping towards the lake, which we could vaguely circle to end up at the manor, when we saw a giant spider slide out of a ranger car blocking the road. It's an unpleasantly familiar sort of sight, if you've ever been unfortunate enough to see a werewolf appear.
>It wasn't interested in us, thankfully - it was after the Suits inspecting the wrecked car.
>The thing was entirely quiet as it emerged on the other side of the car, then climbed onto it and lunged at them before they could react. We heard sizzling of flesh and the cutting and clawing and biting, and tearing. The Suits were silent, and the thing was silent, all as they tore each other apart, with most of it out of our view.
>We saw two more spiders crawl out of the car and circle it. As they did that, we moved along to view the scene better, and to try to make it so if we had to run, the manor would be closer. By the time the spiders were in our view, they were entangling their legs together with the injured and very, very singed one laying on the ground, twitching as it reflexively bit into the neck of a Suit.
>Once entangled enough, they merged into one exceptionally large spider, big enough to make the car seem small, flesh sewing together, legs snapping as they connected by the joints, heads twitching violently.
>The united spider devoured the remains of one Suit - the others were just gone, they either fled or vanished. Frankly, there being remains at all was troubling. We couldn't see or smell much blood, and, honestly, I was out of my funk and straight onto freaking the fuck out.
>Then the spider bolted into the woods. It went from standing still and gnawing onto a human-ish thing, to running, in an instant, its legs moving with zero anatomical match to actual spiders.
>We followed its example, having zero desire to be devoured next.
>You would not believe who greeted us at the edge of the manor grounds, weird fucking spear in hand! Loki!!!
>Nearly gutted Serenny before seeing me.

Sooooooooo, it appears our Internet's back on, and the power's not flickering anymore. In the time I've been gone, Artificer had been hard at work tearing the drone wreckage apart, and she found literally nothing useful. Most of its hardware seems to be meant for streaming all that its sensors capture to elsewhere, with its actual memory brief and apparently routinely emptied, so we don't even know where it took off from. It had trackers of all sorts, but most got broken when a certain imbecile landed on the drone, and the rest for sure cooked with it when it crashed down and immolated. Nobody has any clue what the non-generic-parts markings we found on the wreckage mean. No other drones were over our manor, but a few of our guests say they saw some flickering lights in the sky a few times.

By now Arti's more interested in the lamp post wreckage. Didn't tell me what's up with it yet, but she dragged it and Loki into her workshop and is, from what I can feel, currently busy pocking it with her stick. I'm honestly not sure why we let somebody whose job is to make nifty artifacts LARP as our tech expert, but, hey, it works.

My beloved cousin and our guest are seemingly not taking the spiders too well, which is. Uh. Relatable. I'm like this close to finding a way to vomit into my pointy hat, so I'm not a good measuring stick, but for what it's worth, Lavender says he's also seen one yesterday and it was exceptionally uncomfortable to look at, enough to make him look away. And he's usually not a pussy! Well, not about spiders, anyways! So it can't even be that he's a bitchmade little purple-scented twink! Or, he is that, but it's not the problem this time!

Very weird all around. At least we're back home.

I found her. The Camarilla Anarchs tipped me off that an Anarch Lasombra named Il Ragno had some of his boys kidnap her. She's fine, if a bit shaken up. Not much of a fighter, really, admin and investigation are her strengths. The local Flora and Fauna are getting more hostile to me, though, so replenishing my ghouls is becoming difficult. It never rains, but it pours it seems. I think while this business with my grandfather has distracted me some Kine have sensed weakness are moving against me. I think the unveiling of my ghouls will give them some pause though, they were very thorough. Il Ragno is still out there, though.

>You could count the number of those on one hand

You know, you'd figure, with the reputation the Pyramid usually maintains, but Sorcerer here proves the Goratrix variety still apparently live, despite all the talk about them being made extinct or dying out or whatever. Then there's our quasi-chantry, free of the Pyramid exclusively because our Sire was a hidden renegade or just didn't want us to have loyalties to anybody but him. I'm sure there's other cases like us, just better-hidden because they didn't get shackled to something as obnoxious as a centuries-long war for a caern.
>Generally, any Tremere you meet is going to be in the Pyramid.
And nearly every Tremere will insist they're with the Pyramid, even if they're not! Kind of safer to pretend.

Give her a day or two, she's got some long-term effects from that lamp post.

Speaking of, we've gone out and found more of them, broken a few. There's probably over fifty in total, and they make a large circle surrounding our manor and a bunch of the forest near. Anybody here had any experiences with hunters pulling out toys like these?

>>98445636
Yeah, don't worry. Worst case scenario, we'll be making one of our asshole guests actually contribute and accompany you if you ever have to go out. Not sure if they're talking to you or we'll need to sit them down and explain that you're a friend, but, I am fairly optimistic about making them help. They've seen a few spiders too, by now, and are very, very worried. Really not a good sign, apparently. None of them want to explain precisely why giant spiders are especially bad, because fuck us, I guess.

Ah! Ah! ヤバい! I almost forgot this! When Marco was done inspecting with his fingers and nose every last one of my hair strands, we walked to the next Calle, then went into this palace and there was this huuuge hall packed with mainline Giovanni and some Elders, and ghouls walking fast back and forth. There was a suuper ultra old looking hooded wraith too.
>N1: Looks like your tastes never change, Marco.
>G1: That his new pet?

>The room fills with noise.
>Wraith: For the last time, you will speak one at a time. Marco had a head start with the news, let us hear him first.
>Marco: Thank you, Brother C. I'll be brief. That law is a crystal clear violation of the Promise of 1528. But it also causes conflict within the Camarilla itself. Fucking fire.

[Taiga Trawling - Update 1]
>We're well into forest fire territory.
>I hate fire. I deeply, deeply despise it. Never was good at dealing with it, no amount of shooting people helped, it just gnaws at me and I react instinctively.
>Which makes us going north and north and north all the more awful.
>William insists I make the reports, says it'll help me focus and not 'overreact'.
>I'll gut him, one day. Use whatever shriveled remains are inside to hang his corpse.
>H0T and her handler are not doing too hot either. Not sure if it's the fire or...
>We're not going into a good place.
>There's shapes in the fire. Tall, willowy figures, rare and lone, and they look at us, their every step resonating with a tree breaking, or the inferno blazing brighter.
>And on occasion, I can see dancing, hulking things, holding hands as they spin, and spin, and spin, right there in the fire.
>The air is most acrid when they're in there, dancing together.
>We're a few nights away from Stony Rapids, a total shithole but one with an airport and boats not far. From there, we'll go further north, towards Yellowknife, and then further north, to where the living grove last was.
>First we'll have to say hi to whoever runs the Rapids, if there's anybody. I know Saskatchewan's owners don't usually go this north, too many Garou. But somebody could be there, and it's best to be polite.

I need to thank you again, Balthazar. What your men have already dug up has proven very illuminating. It woukd seem my Grandfather had been born in Maramaros, in what was then part of Hungary under the Hapsburgs. It looks an awful lot like the local lord was actually a Tzimititze, and it seems he has taken personal offence to my mortal bloodline.

Any Kolduns here I can ask about Kokdunic sorcery? I think that serves to explain the flora and fauna getting hostile with me.
>>
>>98447753
After... "incorporating" (working title) Zoryana you could try asking me about Koldunism. The first thing I want to tell you is that Tzimisce - and not just the Old Clanners like Zoryana - have a combination of gifts of Caine that is especially valuable for defensive tactics.

Animals make for good spies with their various sizes, unassuming appearances and superhuman senses.
Extrasensorial perception extends what can be sensed into the past as well, it doesn't just help the Kindred detect an infiltrator, it lets them reconstruct his or her path too.
Mind Control for Old Clanners and Vicissitude for Main Clanners have a number of applications, including enforcing the loyalty of the Kindred's servants and interrogating intruders.

What Koldunists do is tie them all together with a Blood Sorcery that commands forces of nature, like for example the elements: Wind, Fire, Earth... and they do so through spirits, because the spirits is what they bully to get what they want. Spirits themselves can act as spies and extend the Koldun's perception across space.

Koldunism also has Rituals like other Traditions of Blood Sorcery, Zoryana knew how to turn a small amount of dirt into the sacred soil from her homeland - helping against the Clan's curse - and another that steals the souls of sleeping children through cats.

On the subject of the flora, I feel this urge to ask you: could your nemesis have anything to do with the forest between (what are now) the borders of Poland and Belarus?

>>98444205
From the looks of things it seems to be in a bery remote place, remote enough to make a municipal grid unlikely. Which suggests receiving its power from something nearby. Either some kind of local battery or a generetor. Or generators if they're worried about redundancies.

That motherfu--esteemed elder is set up in Club Regent? He must be rich as hell. The avarice of my clan knows no bounds. No wonder he doesn't want anyone moving in and disrupting his setup. Shit, I knew Transcona has a lot of high-value properties but I never expected the casino. He probably has kine armed guards in addition to any obligatory flesh-monsters he may create (probably out of old people). This guy could be very valuable to us if we can get him to play nice.

I can drop off Espurr and my last three crickets as soon as the sun sets. They can keep all the crickets, I'm kind of bored of them.

It means "The Struggle". Generally in Islamic history, that's literally holy war to protect and spread the Dominion of Islam. But it also does mean the personal struggle of life & faith. Taking over the Mystery Of The Forest Lamp Posts because Lavender has absolutely no clue what he's talking about when it comes to how electronics work. The mastery of Levinbolt is wasted on him.

We live in a national park. There's essentially no infrastructure around here, besides the occasional roads and some camping stuff, our own power grid is our own, with generators and shit. I've gone out armed with a shovel and a Loki. We dug up one of the lamp posts to haul it home for better asssessment.

For starters, the lamp posts are actually remarkably well-anchored into the ground. Like, ridiculously well-anchored, to a degree that doesn't seem easy for where they are and the fact that we fucking live here, we'd surely have seen something.

The lamp post itself is like four meters tall. It has a brick-shaped, large battery-looking thing in its base, the battery is very, very heavy, and encased in the same really strong metal that makes up the lamp post shell. I don't like how it feels to look at.

The anchoring is a metal tube as wide as the lamp post. It's three meters long, and is buried into the soil. There are regular-looking power cables that run out of the tube, just, like, a foot deep into the soil, and they run along the ground in two different directions. Neither of the cable bunches is powered, and they all just kind of end after abruptly going down into the ground deep enough that digging them up is a pain.

The real odd part is that the anchor ends with a total of eight weird sort-of cables. They're iron and copper, about coke can-thick. They fan out diagonally, spaced out evenly. They're like metal roots, I guess, except they can't really supporting the lamp post or its anchor, too thin and bendy.

>>98448622
>Speaking of generators, are there things that suspiciously look like eight-cylinder, v-shaped car engines close to these lamp posts?
Nope. Given that and the dead 'power' cables, I'm guessing the battery is big and bulky for a reason.

Well, as electrical systems go; it's bizzarre but makes some sense. A battery, remotely charged by underground wires, it's probably periodically charged at certain periods, once a day/month/probably year from the sound of the size. And probably done this way so nobody needs to tool around the area with a car battery every so often.
Except your description of the end cables. Generally an input is going to be the same size as the cable itself. You don't glue a 6.3mm jack to a 3.5mm because then it's a fire hazard, heats up took quickly because it's taking in more electricity than it can handle. And sounds lousy for as long as it lasts.
... Wait the cables just end? Eh? Then whatever's charging accesses it from under the ground?

>>
>>98455588
They had hooks in the Cappadocians according to some hearsay. The point isn't that they 'win.' It is that NO ONE ever wins. Not the House of Death. Not the Ashirra. Not the Sabbat or the Camarilla. Keeping the Jyhad in a state they can manipulate, in as much as anyone can. I don't know why, no one really does.

If I had to take a guess though, they're doing a Cammie thing.
Conflict lets them keep their powers in the sects and it might be that is their end-goal. So. They've already 'won.'

Ironically by virtue of myself being an ancillae Ravnos far from power I have the ability to reveal basic information. This is so because I am 'weak.' Regardless if the Inconnu are a bunch of wannabe Illuminati or are an actual conspiring sect, they are strongest against the powerful, needing only a few members and a few bribes in the right places to forward their schemes. Copper is $6.63 USD a pound right now, if you round up all the poles you could make a couple thousand easily. Perhaps they draw power from the dirt like a potato can power a lightbulb.

Yeah if anything he owes us big time for nixing a few potential threats to his power, even if he had a deal with the Sabbat, the Camarilla would have ousted him to steal his income stream. I'll make sure to subtly touch on that in the letter.

Something's changed. When they sent the blood trough down tonight it was accompanied by 4 men with guns. They picked out two of the ghouls and brought the two with them back to the surface. A few hours later, they come back down with only one of the ghouls. I intend to find out what happened to the other one.

Ugh, I hate this. I'm refreshing myself on preserved blood. There are neonates that subsist on this offal entirely? No, offal is too kind a word.

But needs must, I suppose. If I could live off of hardtack and grog for fifteen years in the Corps this much can surely be endured.

I received a panicked call from the Giovani at Jaxport earlier tonight. A ship was approaching, a civilian fighter, and it was not answering any hails. But one man saw a monster on deck, with a long boney spur where his arm should be. I informed the Giovani it was my problem and I would handle it forthwith, thanked them for informing me, and called upon my Marines. We are still waiting on full military gear, but we did have Benneli M4's, vests with level 4 ceramic plates and N.V.G.s I told them to load slugs. Then I said I would see them on the boat, and dove into the Saint Johns and transformed. My second form is not a bat. It is an Alligator Gar. I swim beneath the surface of the water out to the slowly advancing vessel. Returning to my human form, I shift my left hand into a claw, sink it to my knuckles in the side of the vessel, and launch myself up to the deck. There is a man there, rifle in hand. He looks normal, so I assume he is meant to be lookout with enhanced senses instead of combat modifications. My claw rips his throat open before he has fully processed my arrival, and he dies with a gurgle. My hand itches. Acid for blood. A nasty surprise for anyone who does bring this lookout down. It's only a matter of time until he is missed, so I toss his corpse and equipment to the watters below, creeping along the decks to maje my way below before I even hear the splash. I draw my cutlass with my right hand, my left a feral claw. Further I heighten my senses to their maximum, and ensure I can see in the dark. My clothing may be squelchy and waterlogged, my eyes may glow in the dark, but the gifts of Nosferatu from long ago will help me stay hidden as I hunt.
>>
>>98457477
whith my awareness hightened by my Auspex I don't just hear the generators. I feel the energies pulsing through the lines and cables of this ship. Sure, I've not set foot on a naval vessel larger than a Yacht since tge days ships were made of wood, canvass, and tar, but with guidance like that I couldn't get hopelessly lost. A ship is a ship after all. There were several skirmishes in my way. A few monstrous beasts that sussed me out despite my obfuscate, mostly. With cutlass and claw I put paid to them quickly enough that I was already hiding by the time more heavily armed help arrived. One...THING... walked so close I could have licked him had I felt so inclined. Good thing their master did not see the point in cross duty modifications. You were normal in appearance, you were a scout, an assassin, or an army unto yourself. It made blinding them easier. Of course they knew I was aboard now. But that kniwledge did littke but strike fear into.them with each new body they found.

Eventually I found my target. There was a security team at the chokepoint just behind a wayertight door. Three beasts that were once men, bipedal, covered in fused boney plates, with long spurs from their forarms. And two hounds. One of tge hounds raised its head, sniffing at the air. It knew. I raised my claw and fired.my own bloody bone spur at it, striking it's head and killing it. But now my obfuscation was gone and two of the boney creatures rushed at me. I met the first with my own steel, my potence allowing me to cut through his bicep entirely. It didn't stop him, but it did throw him off enough that his spur did nothing. His fellow reached me, and I braced against his strikes, causing his bones to shatter against my flesh. I Stuck the furst again with my cutlass and plunged my claw into the seconds chest, tearing out his heart as he tried to understand what just happenrd to his spurs.
>>
>>98457622
Then the Acid struck me. The fist was badly maimed, but seemed heedless of it. I could see something in his throat begin to bulge again so I slashed through it with my blade. I was burned again, but this time so was he. I do not which of his wounds finally killed him. Now there was only thier third and one more hound behind the the door. He had closed and sealed it while the others ocvupied.my attention. No doubt the ghoul forces were converging here already. But to me the door was a flimsy thing and I tore it away like pulling aside a cobweb. He tried to catch me with more acid spit, but I was expecting it and leapt clear, before impaling him on my own bone spike. The hound lunged but I stuffed my arm into its jaws, and it coukd not pierce my skin. Then I tore its head off.

I paused, as hunger was begining to gnaw at me while I healed. I coukd hear pounding feet but I still took the time to drain the ine ghoul whose blood was normal enough, before entering the Generator Room.

I admit, I do not fully understand the science by which the mechanisms of these generators power the ships. I do not need to. With Claws and Potence I shred the wires, cables and cords. I pull pipes from the wallls and stuff them.into moving parts until the machinery grinds to a halt. The deck stops humming as the screws go still. The light switches to a dull red, emergency power. But I don't have time to finish, even I would be overwhelmed if cornered like this. So instead I run into the darkest areas, places the emergency power can't or won't go.

As I take shelter beneath a stairwell old visions begin to assail me. The cramped space, the blood, the filth, it mixes past and present in my mind until I feel my hand tighten on my cutlass. It passes. Then a new scent. Gun powder and oil. These ghouls must be assassins then, if I smelled them before I heard them.

They are coming down the stairs I am under. Flashlights on their guns. I strike first.
>>
>>98457745
I grab tge second man by the ankles and drag hum through tge steps of the stairs. He is to big to fit. I pull him through anyway. He does not survive this. Tge first turns with a shout of surprise but before his finger can tighten I have stabbed my blade into his throat. The last two pour fire into me but they are shooting in the dark, at a target between narrow gaps in slats of metal, and a Gangrel to boot.

I spin out from under the stairs, my claw pulling out several feet of one ghouks guts, as i use my blade to pin the others gun in a classic lock. While the disemboweled man screamed I dragged my claw across the pinned mans cheek. No burn. No Acid. I drink my fill as the first gunshots start filtering down to me from above. I smile to myself. Oh, the Yankee boys for fighting are the dandy, oh.

Caught between my own ghouls and myself the rest die. My own ghouls are a bit taken aback at the sight of me. I am cold on their NVG's save the still warm blood splashed all over me. My shirt and jacket have been discarded, burned by acid to nothing but strips anyway, and my left forearm is a blueishblack, fur covered, clawed thing that dose not belong on a human. They knew I was a vampire. Now they know just what that means.

All thats left is the bridge. I yell to them it's time for them to strike their colors. But they just respond with profanity. I heave an overly dramatic sigh for the Marines now with me before I exert every ounce of vampiric strength I have to tear open the door to the bridge. One man threw his hands up but the Captain shot HIM first. Then a Belgian Malinois ran up and along the wall, flying at the captain, grabbing his arm, and through sheer momentum pulled the man off his feet. The other two rushed in, each seizing a leg in their jaws. And a chorus of shotguns finished off everyone who still had any fight in them.

Now here I sit. I have fed my ghouls, and now I see to myself as Mina plumbs the depths of the captains mind.
>>
>>98454066
>... Wait the cables just end? Eh?
Yep. They just end once they reach a place that makes them a bitch to dig up. The ones that go out to the sides and can be reasonably reached by somebody who isn't wasting half a night on digging and pulling do, at least.

The ones that go from the bottom of the anchor structure and into the soil seem to extend very deep, like twenty meters, and also just end. If it helps, they were warm to touch when we pulled the thing out. No clue why, there is a bunch of geothermal activity in the Rockies, but not in our immediate neighborhood. I think, at least. And the ground itself isn't warm.

>>98456631
The cables that go down into the ground are really thick, you're undercounting it I think. Assuming each cable is around 200 pounds of copper (again, coke can thick, can't tell for sure but they seem like they're half copper), and each pole has eight cables, and there's at least fifty poles, that's like eighty housand bucks.
Hm.
Hmmm.

We had two cars we used frequently, but one is now a fucking wreck because a bird stole our butler.
>How do they keep a mansion in the woods stocked with supplies?
A butler and a maid. And reserves of dosh, plus lots of hustles to keep ourselves afloat. And we honestly used to run a skeletal crew here, one or two of us plus the help, the rest lived and worked away from the mansion, because it was a cursed werewolf-haunted shithole. We usually just had Lavender play mansion babysitter, made him think it's some sort of an honor.
>>
>>98457055
>This sounds stupid but have you tried powering up one of the lamp posts?
You mean from our own power? Yeah.
We hauled a mostly-intact lamp post over to a shed of sorts near the edge of our grounds. During this hauling the lamp post still working, I'm going to guess thanks to the brick battery-thing, but after maybe a total of thirty-ish minutes it died. We didn't find a way to connect a generator to it properly, so we just wired it to the eight cable points.

Now, this is actually a good generator. It's like 50Kw or something, a solid backup option. Our manor theoretically can draw a loooooooooot more power. But since we don't really use most rooms, or most of the facilities that survived from when our Sire was up to then thousand fucking gimmicks at once, we usually can make one of those generators work for our needs just fine. I sometimes need a separate one when I get to work on something complex, but, otherwise one is fine.

From what we've identified in the field tests, the lamp posts are somehow responsible for our comms being down. Even though the communications-jamming effect broke in broad terms, and I am posting from the comfort of my greasy-ass couch, if you go near one of the active lamp posts, you won't get any connection within fifty feet or so. I guess they need a complete grid to cover a wide distance.

So, we've wired the generator that's big enough for like ten apartments to the lamp post. We turned the power on. Nearly zero effect. The light went on, and if I sat right by the lamp post my phone didn't turn on, but you step away a foot and there's nothing! I called Lavender over a chat app we got and called him a crossdresser just fine.

>>98453636
Yes, yes, you two are exceptionally loud. Wonderful work, castrate cousin. I'm impressed.
Now, is all that screaming resulting in any sort of eureka moment? Is eight cables remarkably worse than if it was seven? Would we be in real trouble if it was nine?

I wanted the never-dying, Abomination diablerist Sirio "Boy Toy" Ascari's commentary on the conversation my dear Star Lotus had with Zoryana over the Paths of Enlightenment. After not even two sentences, he repeated his last word, "Urge", eight times, then he had hemiparesis, dysarthria as if he had a stroke, then he lost consciousness for good, his flesh melted into a puddle of white liquid, then his bones melted too, and his aura disappeared.
This is scarcely the end of his story, given his tendency to resurrect and transform, but it is most definitely the end of my chapter with him.

I had enough. There is no knowledge left to extract from this anomaly of anomalies, a conversation with a fairy would be more productive, and my Nagaraja teacher of VIA VITREA could suck him off the floor with a drinking straw for all I care, I am done playing this game.

One fewer distraction.

My Nagaraja teacher insists they- no, we can prey on ghosts with this signature Necromantic power, but not really subsist of an exclusive diet of wraiths. Every sunset we wake up a little dryer than the dawn before, and that particular loss and thirst we experience cannot be sated by this exotic meal.
While disappointing, this is not surprising to me, for we have a curse, and that curse is to feed on blood. A Cainite looking for a way out of that will have to search elsewhere.

No, young one, and I feel rather confident that my critics would tell you I'm not even remotely close to facing the sort destiny one such as me should deserve.
I think what you see here is not my karma at work, it has to be Boy Toy's: ever since he committed Diablerie on that twice artificial Cainite-lupine bastardized creature, he keeps re-experiencing the destruction of his body without end, stability, peace - or logic. Dear God, don't EVER say anything like that. There's remarkable overlap between Politicians and salsemen, so you need to sell yourselves to this guy. It's quite simple really, he obviously WANTS to be left alone to lord it unchallenged over hus littke slice of the pie. So you simply need to show him that is no longer an option.

Just have one of your Lupine friends walk around in their war form near his external security cameras. Have it raise it's head, sniff around, look like it's scouting out new territory. A few events like that and he will be sweating bullets. THEN you show up and ask for his permussion so set up your own territorys AROUND his.

Promise him his own voice in whatever style of government you set up, to assure him you won't btry to take what is already his, he'll have to choose between the complete autonomy of his self rule or the saftey in numbers of allowing other kindred into the area. With the knowledge that lupines are sniffing around, I know which choice most would make.

>>98459276
Concrete, hmm? If it does splash it wouldn't last long, but... Some rebar, empty coffee cans, some quick setting concrete...it could work. It's not anything I've trained with but there are certain universal principles. That last fight did a number on my cutlass and I' m going to have to grind it down a bit, plus I need to rewrap the hilt, so I can see the value of a disposable weapon for any such future cases.
>>
>>98462425
I mean I obviously wasn't going to say that. It was a bit of sarcastic humour on my part. Good idea letting a loup sniff around.. Setting up outside his territory would have prevented this from occurring in the first place, I kind of drew the shortest straw by buying a house in Transcona (his territory) before I even knew he existed. I'm not even sure we're setting up a government, we're a loose coalition of autarkii and I'm not much for politics. Our de-facto leader was... changed... by the final encounter of the war. I'm just tasked with keeping the place from imploding before she returns (hopefully cured from her affliction, or the master of it). If I sell the house I just bought and buy another outside his territory I doubt he would trouble me any further. Getting him on our side would mean I don't have to flip the house, possibly. Buying and selling houses is just such a bit when you're dead, people always want to sign legal documents at 3pm rather than 11pm, and coming up with excuses is harrowing. I'll send him a letter but honestly the most shrewd option is to bite the bullet and sell.

>Are the copper and iron bits wrapped in a spiral pattern?
Nah. The shallow-lying cables seem to be just regular ones, even got some shitty Chinese company marks on it. They seem to be regular and connect to nothing inside the lamp post. The deep-lying cables, the ones that were warm, are weird though. On a first glance it seems to be just layers - copper, iron, copper, iron, copper, iron, copper, iron, copper, iron, copper, with copper on the outside and as the core.

I decided to try and see if there's anything fucky to them besides the structure. We cut off really thin slices of both the shallow-lying, maybe-decoy cables, and the deep-lying ones, then polished both and used acid. The usual process you'd do to inspect metal under a microscope, if you want to see the grain of it.

With a normal cable the result would be kind of what you see here, using my kinda-okay microscope. It'd be the metal grain, which looks sort of like dried mud in a desert, not really even. With two different metals, we'd be able to see their grain still in layers, and it'd be uneven like in the image.

In our case, the cables seem to not actually be just plain iron-copper. There's so much more! Seeemingly thousands and thousands of absurdly thin layers and super-thin structures, 'circuitry' almost, with grain segments that are sometimes whole or sometimes hollowed out or something, they have stuff in them while maintaining a perfect hexagon shape. The bare-eye-visible layering is just caused by what metal there is more of. There's structuring so absurdly small that I can't see into it too well with the microscope we used, but it's a shitty one, I don't often have to use it. We'd have to buy or steal one for like twenty grand to really inspect the wires.

And I just don't get the point of it. Why waste such absurdly precise and complex engineering, down to growing perfect metal grain, on cables buried in the ground?
>>
I love having competent people around, I can just sit back and do nothing and things get done. Well, things get attempted, and that's good enough for me.

Don't touch the freezer labeled 'ASSORTED GAROU CHUNKS AND BLOOD', it's a decoy we set up for snooping dogs who think we'd go back on the agreement to not use them for rituals anymore. It'll blast paint in your face and set off an alarm.

There's lots of stuff he could find out, depending on the ritual. How complex and in-depth is he going?

>But- Egh! It doesn't make sense for it to be out here. It should be clawing over a city, sinking teeth in the lifeblood of monotony and traffic law.
Well, we've done enough spiritually offensive things, maybe it's here in collaboration with the bird, angry at us and the resident wolves both? Not that it makes much sense to try and get us now, and not before we started making things right.

And, yeah, yeah, I'll teach you. No promises you'll manage anything more than breaking electronics by touch, but the air here is permissive far as shocking people goes and maybe you're secretly a prodigy, so who knows. We'll need to get you anti-static gloves though, and you should get used to wearing them, one unfortunate side effect of getting too into THE LIGHTNING THINGY is that you may become a static hazard.

What? No, that's dumb. Wizards are into throwing fire at people, hand-laying, petty occultism, trying to steal our vitae, and stuff like that, at least the ones we have third-hand accounts of. This is just exceptionally complicated, advanced technology nobody here really understands, but nobody here is a real engineer or a cutting-edge materials and electronics scientist or something, so that's not meaningful. It looks like a sign that we're up against remarkably well-funded, maybe government-connected hunters, who perhaps overestimate our capabilities, given the expense behind those jammers.
I can kind of see the logic for using the jammers in the first place, at least, given that they not only interfered with communications but with the functioning of our power network. If the hunters know that Lavender has his lightning bullshit and they suspect he needs access to live power to do it, that starves him out if they cut out all electricity here. That, and with no comms we'd not be able to call for help once they mount an assault. The hunter theory also explains that inexplicably large, for the geosurvey purposes, drone we brought down.
But it doesn't explain why they let us break the lamp posts. Maybe we're not even the real target, and they're after the suits, who are here for whatever other reason... Eughhhhhhhhhh.

Measuring out what should be is difficult in spirit matters. Because 'SPIRITS ARE REAL, MAGIC IS BULLSHIT, SPACE IS FAKE, AND YOU ARE GOD.' Bologni. Hmm. Caerns are places of great power and it might be something else muscling in. Or someone.

NOPE NOT SPIRALLING INTO DELUSION I GET MY NEW RITUAL CHALK AND EAT SOME FOR GOOD FORTUNE, THEN I PROBE WITH DELIRIOUS FORTITUDE

Honestly Sorcerer being paranoid about falling too much into 'spirituality' (coming from growing up in the middle of hippie-crystal woo terf and scientology territory) and being introduced to H0T's weirder stuff will seriously gimp his efforts. He's just going to begin with cursory stuff but when he shows the results to the Anchorittes he might be showing something serious that he just flat up ignores because he's trying to avoid seeing 'faces in the concrete.' Which is very funny because he's basically a Shaman trying to avoid being a Shaman.

I'm at a loss. Using small bits of iron is a way to combat loss of energy from heat and conversion into magnetism, but if someone's going through this much trouble, it'd be more efficient to just not use a metal like Iron, unless there's some thing about the iron they absolutely need.
Chts, enough banging my head against this wall. Different line of inquiry: you mentioned a company name on the decoy wire, in chinese?

>you mentioned a company name on the decoy wire, in chinese?
Yeah. Hengtong Group. The cables seem pretty normal. They don't connect to anything of relevance in the lamps, I've wired our generator to them, zero effect. Pulled them out, powered the lamp via the weird cables, the lamp turns on just as before. I've even taken the decoy cables out, used them to power some regular electronics, everything works fine. Nothing weird about them on the microscope either. I'm guessing they are quite literally just a decoy, same as how the lamp isn't a lamp post, but sure tries to look like one.

>I GET MY NEW RITUAL CHALK AND EAT SOME FOR GOOD FORTUNE
When you vomit it up you better vomit it in a bucket like a civilized person! And burn it, ritual chalk is no joke.

He's going to find out a looooooot of subtly weird things. The spirits he'll get to in any way manifest are going to be cagey and relatively weak and not responsive, he might have the Garou try and help with the ritual (or snoop on it) only to feel oddly uncomfy for no reason they can identify. The primary issue is that the veil is oddly thick for how close they are to a caern; not impossible to walk through, and not quite on a level of a busy city, but still thick. It rapidly goes from thick to thin (and back) right next to the salvaged lamp post if the power going into the bottom cables is meddled with, not that he'd have an easier time detecting that.

As for something large he's liable to miss until somebody points it out, a splash of blood, a dusting of chalk, anything like that tossed on the ground, will form an image. It is a giant web, remarkably straight, complex and symmetrical, with its outer layer featuring sixty-four dots. Three of those are just missing, and one is positioned oddly, near the center of the web, and half-formed. The straight lines break up, turn round and uneven where the dots are missing. The center is another empty spot, a very large one.

Let me begin with the serious matters.
Hideous geometry taunts me within the binds of the circle. A circular ring of sparkling lines bends and twists in ways I struggle to describe with the limited nature of language and colour. So alien and distant that it is a miserable spectre, a shadow on the floor before me. Yet mundane, apart from me. Yet still other times it is close, so close that a FOOL might reach out and annihilate themselves with a foolish moment as they perceive it like a child sticking their hand into a blender. Insufferable in vagaries. Something is here! I can FEEL it in cruel disregard. A mechanical But I am lacking something... Some code to make sense of this work. It was designed! Intentional! And yet. Yet. I cannot push further without something more. As I have spent hours here, not even noticing the coming and going of Cainites and Loupines.

Now for less serious matters; I DO NOT PUKE WHEN I EAT CHALK IT IS INORGANIC
IT FORTIFIES MY INSIDES

Could the "decoy" cables actually be connected to components in another dimension? As a mortal I had an epiphany about how Ork guns actually work in the fictional universe of Warhammer 40k, where the "missing" parts were actually in another dimension (the warp). Perhaps someone else had the same idea and wired up components in the werewolf dimension or somewhere else. I know little of metaphysics, but it seems strange someone would put so many seemingly useless components into something so expensive.

>>98471538
I've heard of mortals ritually consuming corpse ash so hey why not? Tremere blood is stolen from my clan so perhaps some latent vicissitude allows for the bonding.

Here's what I got so far:
>Esteemed elder, my apologies for encroaching upon your voivodate. Due to your reclusive nature, I was unaware of the ownership of your territory and I did not trespass intentionally. I find myself in a dilemma now, as I have already purchased property within the borders of your voivodate, and liquidating said assets would take time, leaving me bereft of a haven in the interim. I beg your leniency in this matter, and if it is within your wishes I will liquidate my property with all due haste and seek out a new territory outside your own to call my own small voivodate. Or if you would overlook my trespass we could come to a mutually beneficial arrangement, as a high generation and young vampire such as myself has comparatively miniscule needs. >Could the "decoy" cables actually be connected to components in another dimension?
Hmmmmmmfuck I didn't figure to check. I got some toys that can look into the werewolf dimension, but I really don't like using them, they give me conniptions. Way too much red light, wires, sticthes, metallic parts sticking out of stuff, very unpleasant. Guess we can make one of our guests go in and check for signs of that, but they're also kind of uneasy about it right now, it apparently is harder to go in than it should be. Which is not a nice sign.

Ifffff we actually are being hunted, that'd mean the hunters are trying to disable our comms and to deny the wolves their usual bail option. Very, very, very much not good.

>I DO NOT PUKE WHEN I EAT CHALK IT IS INORGANIC
Water's inorganic, you sure will vomit if you drink it, dipshit.

>I cannot push further without something more
So something more we shall have. We'll try and hunt down one of the Suits, or a spider, or whatever else is in these fucking woods, and see if we can use them as ritual fuel or just interrogate them. See what that does for us. You're coming with, Lavender says the best way to learn to apply what little bit of Levinbolt you may have picked up already is to have to use it to defend yourself.
Ask nicely and I'll let you grab something from my armory.

Good day, Rumi and SCHRECKNET! Little update on the exorcism!

I moved my bed right next to Rumi, effectively making a faux queen sized one.

When I could still hear their voices loud and clear inside my head, Lianhua thought Westerners, like Zoryana who used to plan obsessively for every little detail, ignore much of the wisdom in Sūnzǐ's Art of War. They always remember to "win first then go to war", but when the great strategist says not to repeat your tactics, to seek opportunity in chaos, knowing when NOT to fight, and "flexibility is the operative principle", the message doesn't reach them as well.

A firm believer in the impossibility to account for every variable, and in the need for improvisation and spontaneity, Lianhua quoted chapter 8 of the Dàodéjīng: "The supreme good is like water."

I set up the rituals, instructed the spirits in the room, became Rumi's little spoon.

At 10 AM the chair wouldn't shut up: "HE'S COMING HE'S COMING HE'S COMING!!!" Damn scaredy-chair, next time, the desk will be on guard duty.

I had the spirits shut up. I saw him. I tried to break the ice: "Hiiiiiii~" He rushed inside the closet. Rumi seized my wrist and whispered: "Just don't tell him you can feel him in there, too."

Ok then. Flexibility. Improvisation. I grab the bed sheet and wrap it over my head, Rumi takes the hint and does the same. "Are you coming to play with us, little ghost?"

The wraith just peeked behind the wardrobe's doors. We waved our hands and made fools of ourselves: "Ooooh! Spookyyyy!"

We sat on the bed, looked at each other and smiled in his direction: "Don't worry. We may be Necromancers but we're cooool Necromancers!", "We don't bully ghosts, we play games with 'em!" We heard him cry, then the voices inside and outside confirmed he left us.

So it was a wraith, a 7 or 8 year old boy. We couldn't get it to sit down and tell us his deal the easy way, but we'll get there.

When Rumi's done rubbing her cheek on me like a cat, we can go back to sleep.

>Esteemed elder, my apologies for encroaching upon your voivodate.
"To the kind attention of the Elder Voivode ruling this domain..."
>my apologies for encroaching upon your voivodate.
"...I, a Cainite guilty of trespassing it, am looking for way to make amends for this transgression..."
>Due to your reclusive nature, I was unaware of the ownership of your territory and I did not trespass intentionally.
Awful. This sounds as if your shifting the blame on the Elder's innate psychology, he will not like this.
>I find myself in a dilemma now, as I have already purchased property within the borders of your voivodate, and liquidating said assets would take time, leaving me bereft of a haven in the interim. This won't do. I think Prince Leatherneck here had the right idea: >>98462425 . Start by telling the Voivode you have information on werewolves moving close to his domain. Or other enemies as >>98462369 suggests. Then mention that you have your own herd and you won't hunt in there.

I wouldn't say anything about having purchased any square inch of his land so soon, not in your first letter, you could vaguely allude to the chance of having no issue with the required kine paperwork.

And get to call him My Lord, eventually! Why do youngsters have no issue with grovelling before a Prince or the Elders of their own Clan, but as soon as any other Elder stands before them, they forget how to?!

Oh, shit, you really did know it. I was just guessing you would be bitter and grumpy enough to know that one. Anyway, don't go sitting on this debt too long...I think I'm in trouble...

Anyway. Things seem to back to normal between me and Alex. Mowhawk guy DID blashpeme right in front of Cain and everbody so she seems willing to chalk it up to a Brujah Moment and leave it at that. But uh...things have gotten...complicated.

We headed out to a big ol get togother in the desert. Bonfires, vamps drinking from kine that were dopped up on damn near everything, racing dune buggys, classic Sabbat shit. We joined in on some Fire Dancing. I did some slow gymnastics around a fire, peeling off my clothes until I leapt through the flames in the nude. Got a littke singed, but hey, Preist is supposed to set the example, right? I remember watching my Sire just WALK through a fire shirtless once doing his Fire Dance, and you should have heard how much that worked up the crowd.

Then the Bishop comes out and after a brief sermon starts handing out assingments. When he gets to us, he says he's heard we took out a bunch of Heretics, so he's got a special mission for such zealous defenders of faith and hierarchy. He says there's a cartel compound that has gotten a littke full of themselves recently and they need an object lesson. Then he says, not to worry, he's not sending us in alone and under gunned, that we will have backup. That's when I notice the whumpf whumpf whumpf of a Horse approaching across sand dunes.

Respectfully, as someone stuck with a 'submissive and blood-bondable' lineage, be a bit... Firmer?
If it had been Prince Krakow to take the city, he'd have been given the stugg without a second thought. So would the Sabbat under the Kaiser. We've no desire for conflict (at least us, some Wöf and Gangr not happy about this) but we shouldn't tolerate him acting like an Austrian.

Ahhh /Schrecknet/, I've missed you. Busy times in Juarez. I'm pleased to announce my first assassination attempt and as you can tell by my posting here, it was unsuccessful. Perhaps one our sabbat members can identify this loathsome assassin. Pretty sure he's Ventrue, I was soliciting funding
>We're rapidly approaching mid eight figures exciting time
And I was pleased to get some Ventrue into the City, finally. Needless to say, one of them was an assassin. I've managed to verify the kindred who have seemed to been legit investors. Somewhere along the way, they got infiltrated. I had thought it was a Camarilla assassin at first, I mean Clan Ventrue, but the more I think of it, the more this stinks of the Sabbat. So how about it, is the Sabbat missing one Well Dressed Antitribu, An actual Ventrue I'm fairly certain. Perchant for handguns, Double .45 ACP's followed by an absolute stinger of a dillinger.
>I'm pretty sure the Dillinger fires compressed Sunlight. No idea how he managed that. If the Don was open to it I could perhaps allow him to investigate but he seems content to hole up in his estates.

So I am walking up to him, no one the wiser. He opens up with the pair of .45's I mentioned. Absolutely went to town, he must have had celerity, verily they were smoking when he dropped them. The 45's hit at that range, got me, cracked my skin until the Tar underneath threatened to spill out and then
>BAMM
Tiny little Dillinger, one perfect arc of Compressed Sunlight. Straight thru my chest. More or less Cored me out, could stick your fist thru the hole. It's almost patched up now. Sadly our dandy little assassin didn't survive the next half dozen odd seconds of his life. I just watched as the black tar of my blood rolled down my chest as the Parliament descended upon him.

I got changed into a white crop top and khaki shorts. Akex got into her Swashbuckler outfit and belted on that silver rapier of hers. Jack still wore his Hardee hat and still looked like he went to the same tailor as Paul Hogan. Dosen't matter what Peter wore because he would be wearing his insides on the outside soon anyway. Hearing him shift his bits around behind me in the car was seriously gross. Of course Jack alwats went a shade paler everytime he glanced in tge rearview and saw him back there. Keeping pace with us on a damn horse.

So how we doing this then, luv? Jack asked Alex.

First up, you recon the place. Steal us some guns if you can. We'll figure it out from there.

Which was as a good a plan as I coukd have come up with, so I didn't challenge the Ductess.

So we pulled to a stop behind tge last dunes about 500 yards out, got out and went belly down to crawl up to top and take a look. And tgen the Horseman.just rode up, skylining himself without a care in the world.

Jack Ob'd up and vanished. The Horseman just sat there and looked down at us. Didn't make any faces, not so much as an arched eyebrow, so I had no idea what he was thinking.

I knew what the cartel boys were thinking though, when a patch of dirt kicked up off the Horseman's right. Then we heard the report. The Horseman didn't flinch. Not him. Not his Horse. The second round hit a rock and ricocheted off sonewhere. The third finally spanked off his breastplate.

Then he stood up.in his saddle, unsheathed that massive zweihander he swung around in one hand, and without a sound he charged.

We all just kind of looked at each other for a second, then ran to the car and followed.
>>
>>98475902
Peter drove, I took shotgun so Alex could wrestle her sword around in tge backseat whike she yelled at me.

WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THAT MANIAC DOING?!

So I yelled back.

I DON'T FUCKING KNOW! He's being real stinefaced right now!

Pete just looked between us. Alex let him know we weren't fighting, just high strung. Something weird about a raven haired, cinamon skinned swashbuckler reassuring a man that had been turned inside out, first bones, then muscle then fat, and, presumably, skin underneath that. The odditites of vampire life sure pick weird times to become noticible.

As we get closer I see tracers start lighting up the night as an LMG opened up on my Sire. Just as the fire was about to hit him, his Horse leapt. And I mean it LEAPT. Like it was about to start flying. Then our windshield started to spiderweb and I felt things whizzing past me.

Alex yelled OUT! OUT! OUT! So we all popped our doors and bailed. I managed to find the sharpest god damn rock in the desert with my forehead, them rolled I don't know how long. I dragged myself to my feet, the gash and scrapes already closing as I healed, and pulled my pistol.

Alex was a little slower getting up but it looked like the Green Man had rolled to his feet and was power walking forward. I saw him jerk a few times but it looked like his boney armor was holding up. God only knows what the guys in that compound were thinking if they could see him clearly. But between him and the Horseman, no one was shooting at me and Alex.
>>
>>98475991
So I let my Vitae boil and started running as fast as I could in a serpentine pattern. Turns out I didn't need to. HE got there first, and I saw two heads go flying as he silenced the first machine gun nest.

Then a couple of cheap wooden watch towers oppened up with two more LMGs on him and knocked him off his horse. It took off, breaking line of sight. Tgen I saw him get up on ine knee and his head turned to one gun. It just stopped. Then he launched himself up into the other tower, and I heard screaming.

By then I was close enough to throw myself into a tuck and roll, slamming up against the adobe brick wall lining the compound. I punched a decent chunk out to see through and saw a dozen guys running out of one of the buildings with battle rifles. More than I could take out with my little .38. But a few hokes couldn't hurt, so I opened up. Then I had an FTE after four rounds. Right. Just because my finger could move that fast didn't mean the action on my pistol could. I did drop one, but all that did was get eleven more shooting at me, chewing up my cover, while I cleared the jam. At least until a deflated balloon made of beef jerky slammed into them like a missile. Bowling over a few and scaring the shit out of the rest.

I kept myself under control, slow is smooth and smooth is fast, and put one bullet in 4 more targets before my gun locked open. These guys weren't in any kind of body armor, so they were at keast hurt a bit. Tge rest started falling back under covering fire, dragging their wounded, but there were more down tgan up. So I ran over and fillled myself up.
>>
>>98476074
Then there was a BANG and my back felt wet. I whipped around as another Cartel Boy hit the ground behind me, shotgun falling out of his hands. I looked tge other way and saw a Hardee hat in one of tge watchtowers, so I tossed Jack a salute and grabbed an AK abd some spare ammo off the dead guys.

Things got a bit hazy after that. Jack kept using obfuscate to relocate before taking another shot, I saw Alex jumping guys out of tge shadows, stabbing them with her sword or shooting them with a pistol she swipped from somewhere. Peter just stomped around scaring the ever loving shit out of guys and soaking up fire, I think.

I remember seeing my sire walking down an alley between two buildings, Then he just stopped. All of a sudden he plunged a hand through the wall and yanked a guy out, chucking him across the alley into the other wall. He was still looking straight ahead the whole time. Then he pivoted on his heel and went inside. Something clicked in my brain and I realized you really coukd tell the difference between guys shooting back blind because they've been pinned, and genuine panic fire just by sound.

At some point I found myself with AKs akimbo like some movie star inside a lab where the drugs got cut. My Potence kept the muzzles from climbing as I raked the room full auto.

Eventually it got quiet. We all picked our way through the carnage to meet up in tge center. I felt a little sick. These guys didn't have a prayer, but they were a fucking cartel, so fuck 'em.

But there were two last surprises for me tonight. Tge first was one last dude crashing tgrough a window into the dirt near us. He was crawling away, crying and begging, snot running out of both nostrills, and from tge smelll I coukd tell he lost control completely. This guy was older. He had prison ink. He was a hardened killer. And stomping after him was the monster that broke him.
>>
>>98476161
Then the Horseman stopped in his tracks. He threw his sword and it landed point down right in front of me. And he folded his arms.

My mouth felt dry. The guy was all out begging, looking at me as I picked the sword up. I don't know if that thing really weighed 20 llbs or if it just felt like it. All I know is I won't ever stop hearing him scream as I broght it down.

They had a few basic civvie models of cars in the motor pool, so we took one of those instead of driving with a shot up windshield. We also took some bigger and better guns. As we pilled into our new car, my sire tossed me a little book. As we drove away, saying a lot by saying nothing, I looked at it. It was a copy of the Code of Milan. And tge section on proper procedures shoukd a sect member blashpheme were circled in what I seriously hoped was just red ink. Runny red ink.

We give him a moment. Rumi places the doll next to him. Now he looks at it
J: I used to play house with the girls. I was trying mom's clothes that night. She said she wanted a male heir
R: We're so sorry Jacopo

R: Too expensive! Chinese!
M: Why? Marco can buy more
R: Yoink! Thanks Marco and Seiren! How do I read this?
M: We have that kanji too in Japanese! OMG!
R: So the foundation needs 5 different products...
J: Cool!

Is the Code of Milan really lengthy enough to make a book out of it? For some reason, I've always pictured it as a single page document, maybe two pages at most; short enough that you could fit on a small card and carry around in your wallet like the U.S. Bill of Rights.

The Ghouls were to link up with a Childe of a Carpathian Tzimitze hiding here in Jacksonville. I tracked it down. It was still very young. The hard part was getting it properly restrained. Of course it had moved it's heart.

Once it WAS held in place Mina again made it think.

My grandfather was not running to a new life. He was running from a Tzimitze styling itself a feudal lord. I don't know if grandfather knew, of if...Doesn't matter. What maters is for whatever reason my grandfather was sent to someplace called Erdely to retrieve something from a ruin and he never delivered it, instead using the outbreak of the seven years war to flee to America.

The book I read on vampire morality, DE BESTIA CATENATA, said the CODEX MEDIOLANENSIS was originally a lengthy demonstration of the tenets of what became the Path of Honorable Accord through allegorical tales of knights and such. This wasn't in my book but I guess the... "Sabbat's answer to the Cammy's Traditions" also grew out of that?

And even if it wasn't, if it's anything like the Traditions, you need notes, records of actual trials, rulings, scolii and so on, just like books on constitutional law or the Bill of Rights aren't three pages long.

The Rough of the formal articles numbers 16 in total, 13 for the original draft.
However the Sabbat have like several versions running around like ghouled weasels, and the largest is 152 pages laden with conspiracies, apocryphal Islamic imagery, and diatribes on fate as well as internal heraldry symbolism.

Final episode of Japanese Ghostbusters!

Me: Our friendly ghost doesn't look like a girl. Maybe he was just curious about women? He could have grown into a makeup artist or fashion designer, many are men and don't identify as women
Rumi: Did his mother kill him over that? Damn
M: Hold on, he's coming
Jacopo: Hi
R: How about a game?
J: What kind?
M: Hmmmm how about you pick the clothes and Gekka here models them for you?
R: Seiren!? Why me!?
J: Awesome!
M: If you think that's awesome you should see Lady Asano, she's super pretty and has tons of ancient and modern clothing!
J: Wow!
R: Imagine how happy he'd be if he could be her designer
So Rumi/Gekka opens her wardrobe, then mine, and Jacopo's jaw drops, but then Big Sis Spider Lily emerges out of the wall like a ghost.
J: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
M: Elder Sister?
R: Welcome back, Venerable Ancestor
Spider Lily seizes the wraith boy's ear and places the tip of her talon on his lower eyelid, threatening to blind him
Spider Lily: You desperately needed a remedial class on what to do with an enemy shinobi
J: No! Please!
M: I...
R: I don't know how to touch or interrogate ghosts yet
S: Next time, call someone who does. Let his suffering be your punishment. Who sent you, Jacopo Giovanni?
J: Isidoro R-Rothstein...
S: Gekka. Take my purification rod and hit him
J: NO! NOOOOO!
R: At once. Akuryou taisan!
J: AAAAIIIEEEE
S: Seiren. Your turn with the haraegushi
M: Yes, dear sister. Akuryou taisan!
J: GYAAAAA AHHH AHHHHH
S: What do the Rothsteins learn about these two friends of yours?
J: NOTHING I TOLD THEM NOTHING
S: Did you?
J: I REMEMBER THE NIGHT I DIED AND DIDN'T WANNA DO IT AGAIN PLEASEEEEE LADY I DID NOTHING I AM SORRY IF GEKKA DIDN'T SLEEP WELL
S: You failed your mission
Big sis bit and drained him like a kine. As it turns out the curse of Clan Giovanni applies to ghosts as well. Jacopo was in such a shock he didn't struggle or scream.
S: I ought to thank to the Rothsteins for the exquisite meal
Then his little Plasm vanished
>>
>>98482750
Spider Lily: I'm not done with the lectures. Gekka, why did you dye your hair blonde? Did you not like the looks you inherited from me? That was the reason the Asano such as you could become immortal
Rumi: With all due respect, Venerable Ancestor, that's a load of horseshit
S: Oho?
R: The beautiful lady in front of me is NOT the same as the one who received the Embrace from my teacher, Marco della Passaglia. You changed your looks, because you wanted something better. You knew you deserved something better because you are a lady of the Asano family. I, Asano "Rumi" Gekka, will never settle, will never stop seeking improvement, I too demand more. Even in immortality, nay, because of this immortality, I demand kaizen!*

At this point, Big Sis Spider Lily bursts out laughing like the villainess she is
S: Finish your studies on the VIA SEPULCRI and then we'll talk
R: Thank you, Venerable Ancestor
S: Go to sleep you two, travelling is so exhausting...

EXIT Big Sis Spider Lily

Me: That was fucking awesome
R: I can't believe that just happened
M: Ah, those sweet screams, I can't wait to put ghosts in their place
R: I know, right?
M: Night night
R: Hey? Where are you touching?
M: I, a lady of the Asano, demand more! I deserve more!
R: Pfft!

*改善, continuous improvement

Do yourself a favor. Kill that ghoul. Hell do me a favour, kill that ghoul and get yourself a new one. Remember you're responcible for him.

I spent the night welcoming Sabbat packs into my little experiment. No one's twirling their mustache and besieging us with shovelheads so we must be doing okay. They insisted on the right to fight over the hunting grounds provided. It's not a deal breaker for me but I'm sure it will be a problem sooner or later. They're partying now with my permission, doing their fire dances and other assorted pagan things.

>They have elected to send me a Bishop.
There's not really enough Sabbat to worry about yet. My Bishop is of a surprisingly bookish sort. A little chubby, looks like a book keeper. I was surprised to learn he was Brujah. So far he's bee n reasonable. Acknowdging my Princedom and the ibetween nature of the Sabbat in Juarez now. No doubt many are expecting me to fall in the next year and they can just forget this whole thing. The bishop informs me that I have been labelled a false prince which is wierd combination of Sabbat and Camarilla terminology. I have half a mind to try to stop it but I know that's being pendantic. The Brujah's name is Reeves.
>I'm going to be on the hook for these goddamn fetes thrive yearly he tells me
He explained that these events are as much about Justice as sloppy feeding, and are needed. Especially as everyone is very aware of their heretical positions.

Oh well, another expense. I'm working on getting the human councils to approve medium high, high intensity housing zones.
>Truely the Sabbat are the least of my problems.

>To the kind attention of the Elder Voivode ruling this domain. I, a Cainite guilty of trespassing it, am looking for way to make amends for this transgression. Allow me my haven and herd, and I shall ensure the woods look upon you with kindness and respect.
>Sincerely, [REDACTED]
Is this any better? I just copied Lady Asano word for word and included my best interpretation of Leatherneck and Schirchgün's advice.
So much work for a shitty two-bedroom bungalow, Transcona isn't even that nice of a place, the kine call it "Trashcona" for a reason. Blah. If he lets me stay I'm going to spend a week watching Star Trek and fleshcrafting myself into every alien I like. I've always been partial to Andorians, I love having blue skin.

>>98487335
To my eyes, the latter half reads like a threat - transparently so - but I think it was your intention, a desire to be more assertive as per those other suggestions.

>>
>>98488149
Ahahaha! Oh, Anonymous User! Context, context!
The roommate is my descendant, Gekka, nicknamed "Rumi", because it sounds similar to "roomie", by my sister Seiren, a name which means Star Lotus.

The two "Japanese Ghostbusters" are studying together in Venice under my Sire, Marco. Now that I'm here I can finally join him as their teacher. I was honestly and pleasantly surprised by Gekka/Rumi, the blonde hair dye matches her temperament, I didn't think I'd like a "yanki" descendant so much. My laughter is seldom loud, but when it is, Seiren and others say I do it like a cartoon character, and given mezzo soprano voice actresses often play villainous roles, I must sound like generations of villainesses.

Meanwhile, invaders and spies, like the ghost of Jacopo Giovanni, are not roommates, they're enemies. He did not randomly stumble inside a bedroom, he was sent there with a purpose. Back in my days, Shinobi were trained to infiltrate castles and to inflict and resist torture and interrogation, in order to steal and protect secrets. And, as you can tell, I am rather protective of this "castle" and of my dear Star Lotus.

What to do with spies, and with the malevolent spirits of the Dead, is a vital lesson for her and her roommate, and I'm delighted "bustin' makes them feel good", to use their own parlance.

Oh the world will sing of an Anglo Prince
A thousand years from now
And not because he passed some laws
Or had that lofty brow
While bonny good Prince Tabby leads
The great crusade he's on
We'll all have to slave away
For that good-for-nothin' prawn

Incredible as he is inept
Whenever the history books are kept
They'll call him the phony Prince of Juarez!
A pox on the phony Prince of Juarez!

He sits alone on a giant throne
Pretendin' he's the king
A little tyke who's rather like
A puppet of the Tzim
And he throws an angry tantrum
If he cannot have his way
And then he calls for Mum
While he's suckin' his thumb
You see, he doesn't want to play

Too soon to be known as Prince La Fou
He's sure to be known as False Prince, the fool
A pox on that phony Prince of Juarez!

While he taxes us to pieces
And he robs us of our bread
Prince Tabby's crown keeps slippin' down
Around that pointed head
Ah! But while there is a merry man
In the Sabbat's wily pack
We'll find a way to make him pay
And steal our city back
A minute before he knows we're there
The pack'll snatch his underwear!

The breezy and uneasy Prince of Juarez!
The snivellin' grovellin',
Measly weasly,
Blabberin' jabberin',
Gibberin' jabberin',
Plunderin' plottin',
Wheelin' dealin'
Prince Tabarin, that phony Prince of Juarez!
Yeah!

Works bra. I'm sending him a note too to see if I can get a read on his things.
Also as a trashman [IM THE TRASHMAN I GET ON STAGE AND START EATING GARBAGE] that ain't bad.

Seems like we've finally resolved things- but its a weird place. By number this is Gangrel central twice over but they ain't fully in town for the most part. Got themselves some Havens around town and the Ghouls to keep watch. Apparently a bunch took the fight as like, sort of a wake-up call to act more- Gangrelly? I guess? Plenty hooked up with the lobos they is and are off doing stuff in the woods. Second largest group is now Nosferatu. Selkirk boys who slid in or were already hiding. And apparently number three is your blood blud. By virtue of there beingl- like three Tzims now. Plus I saw your sire the other night.

Got a few eccentrics rolling in too so I guess I'm provisional mayor till the BBG gets back in. We got some three eyed mother fucker who rolled in and has claimed the Children's Hospital under his protection. Not exactly contributing but he agreed to help organizing stuff as a diplomat. We also got an old Ventrue bitch who moved back into Little Italy and has reserved the rite to 'Monomacy any of the Clan of Kings who dares threaten my fiefdom.' Which means at least we also got some money coming in from her.

Way to make it obvious! At least Sal and Stella Deacon had the decency to run an Asian Fusion place in New Orleans, but they still wanted their trained pizzaioli though. Even in undeath they can't let go of the smell coming from a wood-fired oven.

That's just what happens. Two types of people show up in the aftermath. Johny-come-lately who has his own designs and plots and must be firmly put in his place, and those men who have the good sense to follow the lead of those who did fight and bleed to see the thing done in the first place.

I tell you this for true: You should take the coat they offer you. Lest someone far less savory end up wearing it.

Both clans deeply care for tradition, and also for living up to stereotypes. Plus, imagine a Toreador pizza place. Haunting premise, fundamentally.

>I aint leadership material guys im a funny little frog poster
This is what makes you good leadership material, truthfully. The types bred for the job, or embraced for it, tend to arrive to the chair so beyond wringed by stress that they're hardly truly fit for it; those who get the job by chance and don't like it very much tend to do a good job. The better a job you do, the less you have to fix your mistakes, after all!
That said, I do understand the sentiment, we will do our best to move quickly.

Ahhh, it, uh, it is going! Pardon for the low correspondence rate. Victoria is no longer handling all the fire really well. This, combined with how our somewhat dendritic companion is doing, makes for a problematic arrangement. We're managing, though, wise Mèo-Mèo is coming through like never before! She's a true rock, that one.

[Taiga Trawling - Update 2]
>So, we've arrived to Stony Rapids!
>Which is a statement I wish I did not have to make, because it is a very problematic little town indeed.
>There's maybe two hundred-ish people here, two hundred and fifty if we count travelers, people from a few burnt villages and hamlets who got stuck here, waiting for governmental aid or just, you know, maybe for family.
>I wish we had the time to do something for them, but best I could potentially do is directing some of my ghouls here.
>Which I will not do.
>Because unless my sense of Auspex is lying to me, every single person here is a ghoul.
>>
>>98490817
>Well, discounting guests and refugees from the burned hamlets.
>The initial suspicion I had was that things just were going a bit too well, broadly speaking. It was a known factoid, thanks to some friends of friends, that Stony Rapids has a presence of the Blood of some sort. Unclear what, as it was a tiny place far from any sort of activity, whether mundane or not.
>Yet we arrived without trouble, despite the dancing fire-figures and their occasional sightings. We didn't encounter any clear, to Kindred, signs that we are not welcome.
>Our kind Mèo-Mèo proved to be a remarkably reliable face for our group, getting us decent enough lodgings on town outskirts, as to present the appearance of respectfulness to the master of this place.
>The trouble started when we went about trying to find this master, as to pay our respects and be on our way once we maybe got some information about the region. We began simply; find a sufficiently seedy location, locate a stranger with the characteristic splotches of paleness the Blood gives a ghoul's aura, and you work from there. It's a bit on the nose, for what my clan is, but it works and the lack of trickery tends to appeal to people's sensibilities.
>The first pick simply brushed me off; all increasingly awkward attempts to say 'hey, we want to talk to whoever's ruling you' got directed to the hamlet mayor. Because the hamlet has a mayor, apparently! Daniel Powder.
>Two more attempts had the same basic result. Eventually I realized that nearly every person had the distinct aura a blood-drawn mortal has.
>Which is so worrying that we'd leave if we didn't figure we're being watched, at this point.
>We'll be trying to catch the mayor tonight. I'd prefer not to, but the airport and the dock both are currently limited access. Smog for the airport, and the dock is being repaired.
>Either an unpleasant coincidence, or somebody wants us to stay. Something solvable with finding the town's master.
>>
>>98490817

I can imagine the sheer pretentiousness of it, "Um actually we exclusively serve tomato flatbread, pizza is such a blasé term, our flatbread is a unique and artful onions alternative" and it would probably taste like shit. If I could eat pizza I'd want it made by the Nosferatu, it'd be GREASY which was desirable to me in a pizza. No Tzimisce pizza, I'm not eating pepperoni made from human children.
