So hows the naruto tcg in the scalping department?
>>98441409Ooh, that is pretty. Is there like an extended art or borderless version?
>>98441433Nope. Would be a really nice zoneless playmat. Maybe the artist has sold them or will sell them one day.

>>98441755American building construction is a fucking joke.
How come every card game gets scalped now who is buying these overpriced cards???Why don't they have laws against botting online stores?
>>98442185>who is buying these overpriced cards???It's still usually cheaper to buy outright than it is to pay for booster packs and hope you get the one you want.

>>98442544Slightly DueMa / Lorcana adjacent but with a lot of it's own weird twists. You have a Leader "Partner" and 3 life cards, partner is just an identity, a once per turn ability and a once per game ability. Cards can have P-link which is basically a Partner requirement for them to be able to gain/use certain effects. You play one card ( with a purple dot ) to your mana field per turn, use those to pay costs. ( Second player gets a 1 time use 1 MP card to lessen first turn advantage ) There's limited slots, 3 main 4 support, Characters can go in main or support, locations and items go in supportCharacters have summoning sicknessCharacters with a Magic Icon at the top of their card can be tapped to play any Magic Cards of cost equal or less than their own sorta like Lorcana songsMain zone characters can attack the enemy partner or any tapped main-zone character controlled by an opponent by tapping, any untapped main character on the opponent's side can block by itself tapping.Characters Fighting is a "duel" weirdly, it's one sided, compare the attacker's AP to the blocker's DP only. If they have (Counterattack) they get to strike back, but that's like 3 cards I think in this first set.If a Character is "Downed" they just drop back into support ( unless it's full, then you can decide if they replace a support or fall straight to discard) then you can discard an identical card to revive them without having to pay anythingIf an attack goes through you flip a Life card, defending player can either● Mana zone it● Put it in the Hand● Activate a <<Break>> ability if it has one and then discard itAttack that lands with no Life left = VictoryOther than keywords that's basically the whole game's rules

People are posting stuff from the WuWa TCG events:>rules booklet: https://xcancel.com/Spectro_Lover/status/2083828615993843994>starter decks: https://xcancel.com/shin_musashi/status/2080951503582589281>rules clarification someone asked for: https://xcancel.com/Spectro_Lover/status/2083826137290137732>the board and one of the promos they gave out: https://xcancel.com/Konoha_VT/status/2083833549073813668Not too hot on the art so far but I assume there will be better stuff in the packs. Gonna try to see if I can translate the rules and figure them out. If it looks interesting enough I'll see if Amiami puts up preorders tonight and try to snag one. I'm expecting needing to be quick because Ami stocks little in terms of cards nowadays and this thing is already selling like crazy on the stores that have it (whether because scalping or genuine IP popularity).
>>98443178Are you confusing American television/movies with reality? Not an American, just watching this silly argument from the sidelines, wondering when we'll talk about card games again.
>>98443339>separate decks of level-based characters and regular cards>double card draw>place cards from end onto a special zone as energy>reshuffle trashed cards on deckoutThis is all very Wixoss-coded; though the main deck being action cards rather than units is the big difference it seems.
Looking to get into FFTCG after playing a bit at the fanfest. Is there a good starter deck to pair up with someone and learn with?
How does someone avoid their game being taken over by scalpers? So far it seems like handling your own distribution to actual stores that have real players showing up
>>98443488Don't let people know this but scalpers are beneficial to anyone who's not an investorfag as long as you make card rarity run on a card art axis orthogonal to card text in terms of separation. There's a reason Pokémon is so cheap to get into.
>>98443339>rock paper scissor battle mechanic (red green blue)>blue ties are a draw>red and green ties go to action speed number (attacker wins on a draw)>red wins mean unlimited attacks that turnThis sounds kind of schizophrenic but maybe balanced. Need to check what leader and card effects are like to truly understand how it'll work out though.
>>98443527There is a difference between Pokemon and a brand new TCG though. Pokemon players benefit from the excess of packs opened up because there is a thriving secondary market. If a new TCG has investors buying up all the product before that playerbase can be established it will be a net negative for the game even if the investors are trading cards at multiple thousands of dollars
>>98443560The extreme solution is to just make the game unappealing to investors and forego rarity altogether, I feel.
>>98443572That's just a board game though
>>98443362NTA and not a burger but a former classmate of mine who studied a year abroad back in highschool did report of a guy drunkenly jumping into and through a wall at a party. Either way footage of Americans punching holes in their walls by accident was all the rage back when CSGO rage videos were considered the peak of entertainment, and this shit just does not happen with the kind of walls I have where I live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhbViqimO04
>>98441755You doublesleeved your cards right anon?
>>98443636>we aren't strong enough to punch through walls where I liveWe know. Don't forget your tampon.
>>98442185Aside from the big three, the other companies making tcgs don't own that much production capacity, so whe one of their games explodes in popularity, the supply gets fucking obliterated. For magic and pokemon, the collecting side of both is so strong that even with the much larger supply, it's still not enough. Also, underprinting is always much better than overprinting because being left holding the bag on stock that doesn't sell is terrible for the tcg's reputation among stores as well as for the producer company itself.
>>98443339Sorry bro, any translation on the rules?
>>98443689Good luck punching through concrete.
>>98444093>20hp>character deck>3 to 15 cards>each card is a one of>needs at least 3 different characters>each character present needs at least a level 0 card>actions deck>40 cards, 3 of max>generic action cards can be used by everyone, character specific action cards can only be in your deck if the character they belong to is in your character deck>flavoured as three different types of actions (red is attacks) and have a rock paper scissors dynamic>decide who goes first>each player puts 3 lvl0 characters in front of them>central one is the leader, who gets to attack and whose abilities are active>each player draws 5 from their action deck to start with, you get one mulligan of however many cards you want>draw 2 each turn, first player draws only 1 on first turn>on deck out you shuffle your trash>on your turn you can do each of the following once:>discard a card face up to the equivalent of Wixoss's Ener zone>switch your active leader for one of the other two characters>upgrade a character by taking a card with the same character on it from your character deck and a higher or equal level to the character's current level, discarding as many cards from your hand as the new card's level, and then placing it on top of the one on the board>notably character upgrades are cumulative, they keep all the text of each card in the pile>the way it's worded it also seems like you can go straight from lvl0 to lvl2 if you wanted to>character effects seem to favour specific colours from what's shown so far, for example one character's card will read "if you have a blue tie you win" and its upgrade will add "if you lose to green add the top card of your deck to ener">combat>place an action card you can afford to activate face down in front of you>opponent does the same>cards are revealed>pay their cost from the ener piles>solve all effects (if multiple happen at the same time, attacker resolves his in whatever order, then defender does the same)cont.
>>98444093>>98444439Couldn't figure out if you can play multiple action cards or just one before they're revealed.>combat resolves>red beats green beats blue beats red>blue tie is a draw>red and green ties are won by the biggest number, with ties going to the attacker>the winner then gets to chain other actions but I'm not clear on how it's done exactly, seems you trade the number of attacks your card gives you for the ability to play other cards>you get to attack even if you were the one defending>if you win with red you get "infinite attacks" on the turn, which I think just means less limitations on how you can combo actions but you're still limited by how many cards you have in hand and maybe by card costs too>deal the total damage to the one who lost the fight>turn ends and all end of turn effects trigger>discard until you have 8 cards if you have more>opponent turn begins>whoever gets the opponent to 0hp first wins>also if you happen to play an action you can't actually pay for uh please don't we haven't decided on a ruling for that yetThat's the gist of it as I could figure out. I'm sure it makes a lot more sense once you've seen the cards themselves but the pics are all a touch too grainy and small at the moment. Hopefully they put up official rules and card spoilers soon.
>>98444479>>red and green ties are won by the biggest numberThat is bigger attack speed of course, not damage. I'd assume there will be high speed low damage attacks and vice versa.

>>98445154The day we culturally normalize lasting physical harm on scalpers and being able to gut them like fish, is the moment we heal as a society.
>>98445255Are you able to present a definition of "scalper" that makes this actionable in any reasonable way at all?
>>98445264Anyone reselling sealed product. If you want to trade/sell the singles, fucking fine, don't take 40+ boxes of sealed, and hold them for years waiting for the printing cycle to finally finish so you can resell them at 4x the cost.Even if you're a weirdo who collected sealed, all you need is one, no one collects 12 of the same product. I don't see a basedboy with his funkopops and his 80 of the same singular wolverine funkopop.Id argue selling promotional product like playmats and shit is also scalping, just because I know the people selling it, or going to get it, are just dudes looking for money. To any TCG player, that shit is a cool collectible, even if you might not personally use it. Why sell it, give it to a bro you know would appreciate it.The mat scenario is something I can't say with confidence isn't/is scalping. Selling sealed secondhand 100% is.I care more about that then sleazy MFs taking free pormo products from people who actually would value it for resale.
>>98445298So you're insane and resentful, and a scalper could be literally anyone including an LGS that chooses to keep old sets in stock.Great.
>>98445316>ResentfulOf fucking course I'm resentful, why would I not resent a group of people who don't give a fuck about the hobby, taking product from people who enjoy said hobby, withhold said product, and then try to sell it back to you at a higher price preying on the desperation because they took something you wanted away from you before you could get it.What about that is ethical or worth respect and understanding? There is ZERO justifiable reason to resell sealed. You buy sealed product from a retailer, you open it. Simple as is.And with an LGS, any retro sealed they would get, they would get for someone coming in with an old collection, looking to sell. That's part of their business, they aren't holding 30 cases in a room somewhere waiting 8 years to finally crack it open to sell.An LGS does not fall under a scalping territory, and you fully know that.
>>98445026If you under print, you're losing some amount of money you could be making by printing more, but if you know your print run will be profitable you can't now lose any extra money. If you overprint, you get stuck with extra stock to deal with, retailers will get mad if you drop prices and then LGS will end up with unsold stock tying up funds and get mad at you.It sucks but it's safer to print consecutively, this whole model is fundamentally exploitative and works better if you abuse the fact people want things that are harder to get too. so underprinting and keeping prices up is "Correct"As someone who's worked in this industry before and spent a lot of time talking to suits about numbers, I find myself more and more just wishing it would all collapse.Proxy the shit out of any game you wanna play,
>>98445357>An LGS does not fall under a scalping territory, and you fully know that.SAAR!
>>98445580Cope because you know it's true.An LGS is a legitimate business and they can't afford to hold several thousands of dollar of stock for years for resale when half the stores barely keep their heads above water as it is, and it's getting harder since two of the more popular TCGs is near impossible to get stock for, YGO is entering stillborn status, and MTG everyone fucking hates the current state of the game and just play EDH so they gotta survive off of hosting event versus selling product. Most of their shit is selling singles right now.A typo does not diminish this, nor do I care enough to proof read my shit outside of funny red lines that tell me i misspelt something.
>>98445083>playmateIt wouldn't fit into the little sequined bunny suit.
>>98443636Ohhh, you're taking about drywall layers over the insulation. These are usually used in the interior of a building (or in a layer within the exterior walls) and sacrifice sturdiness to keep the house more comfortable, while the exterior is more reinforced (more wood, bricks, or concrete, North American housing can be a diverse array of configurations, but likely this is what you're seeing people punch through, drywall. On the other hand, if they tried to punch through a spot where the lumber slats exist, they're probably going to hurt themselves. Anecdotally, some of my friends in high school were roughhousing in the halls at lunch, when one of them got tackled and literally got his ass stuck in the wall. The teacher immediately walked out of the next room and caught him red-handed (red assed?). So yeah, those *sections* of wall are weak. The structure as a whole is still very sturdy.Anyhow... card games.
>>98445628>YGO is entering stillborn status,Has that overframe crap changed the game? As in brought more people to buy boosters?
lgs are the main scalpers in leafland. don't let them sob story you over how they HAVE to sell at these prices (2x over msrp) or else they'll close. they're making way more than enough money to stay afloat off of pokemon only. they don't have to randomly scalp mtg and riftbound prices like they do.
>>98445904I've heard they have been doing this, they are absolute scumbags and I think they deserve to go under.
Tcgs are a scam?
>>98445934we receive so much less product over here and it's only msrp at walmart and the like. I've seen lgs employees be there at opening hours to buy all the stock to resell at their store so I have no sympathy for lgs in leafland. they're part of the issue.
>>98445904Another Leaf here... If you're lucky enough to know a smaller mom & pop style lgs, they'll deal with you much more fairly. The one I deal with doesn't go above the accepted TCGPlayer norms, and charges msrp for sealed product. If you can find a trustworthy store, make sure they're the first to get your dollar.Sorry to hear that you've been burned.
>>98446019I have an lgs I'm close with but they treated my years of loyalty as a big fuck you. I don't even get msrp on pre-orders of my smol indie tcgs I do play over there without even mentioning riftbound or optcg. if they were'n the only store that hosted I wouldn't go back. but that's my close small lgs. I got burnt hard.
>>98445904>they're making way more than enough money to stay afloat off of pokemon onlyMy lgs refuses to carry pokemon on account of people in my city breaking in to lgs's to take their pokemon cards specifically. One store even had its picture window smashed open by a truck so the thief could get in and take all the pokemon. The fact that the scalping is branching off into other games is becoming alarming. Greed is as amazing as it is disgusting.
>>98446031That sucks, man. Hope you find a decent place one day.

Shared this here before, but I've spent all night moving my collection into hard cases, here's my EC collection all in fancy one-touches.
>>98447219Rip one up or no balls
>>98447307I am certified no balls, but I want to show more of my collection, I'm very proud of it (no homo). These are my 5 rainbow foils, including two of the three rainbow archimagos in existence, one of the two pathfinders, and one of the two sorcerers, the druid is more common (13 in the world) but this one is signed, so its kind of special in that way. These cards were given out for one year as prizes for the crossroads events, now one is given out per year to the winner of the Avatar of the Realm event, so they're hens teeth.
>>98447330These are 5 of the roughly 36 crown sorcerers in the world, they were given out for a brief time in 2023 and early 2024 as prizes to event winners, before being discontinued, there's a few that were given out to volunteers at the events as well, it's not known precisely how many there are, but they're impossibly rare.
>>98447334This is a full set of the Arthurian Legends gilded curio set, they aren't too rare, definitely obtainable, but the Grail in particular tends to command a pretty hefty premium, I believe this is the only complete set in Europe at the moment!
>>98447337This is a complete set of the foil alpha elemental avatars, they're among the very few cards that are placed solidly on the reserve list, never to be re-printed, the non foils aren't that rare because they come from the precon sets, but the foils can only be pulled from alpha boosters themselves, which are now stupidly expensive, it's hard to find a full set like this, and the avatar of earth is especially rare compared to the other three.
>>98447339This is my alpha foil frazetta collection, don't ask why some are graded, I don't really want to crack them out of the case and they're pretty convenient anyway for keeping them safe, although the grades are nothing special.
>>98447341The non foil equivalents as well, and a few alpha philo stones, they're kind of the black lotus equivalent of Sorcery.
>>98447344This is sort of a miscellanious set of cards, but there's some noteworthy pieces, including the alpha foil philo stone in the middle, the relentless crowd next to it, only 100 of those were given out to pre-alpha playtesters, also the sketchback card hand-drawn by the original author of the cardback, which is one of 30 that were given out unsigned, again to pre-alpha playtesters. There's also the cranky overseer foil, which is a promo card given out to judges at official events, and a foil ring, which is considered the best gameplay card in the game at the moment.
>>98447352This one is pretty funny because it's 'controversial' amongst low testosterone homosexuals in the community, the full foil dragonlord set, the dragonlord set is considered to have been aimed primarily towards scalpers and manipulators because it was only distributed at certain events, and a large portion of the supply was given to the author to sign and then sell from his personal website, it really gets the hackles up for a lot of folks.
>>98447357This is my kitty collection, these were given out in store kits as promo cards to be given away for locally run events, but unfortunately a lot of the stores just ended up immediately flogging them on ebay. The non foils are quite common, but getting a foil grand meowster can be challenging if you don't want to seriously overspend.
>>98447359Some close ups of my favourites, this is the only erik signed foil erik curiosa that will ever exist, it's very fancy, which is why I put it in a scratched and beat up one touch.
>>98447378This card is probably the most foil-y card in the game
>>98447379And in contrast the alpha foil courtesan thai has practically no foiling at all, I had to tilt it at a weird angle to get the foil of her outfit and the sun reflection on the pillar to show.
>>98447383
>>98447385I love grand meowster, he's so cute
Can you play Sorcery online or just TTS?
>>98447401I think most players use TTS and it works very well, but there is a client called Valkenhall, and rumour has it that Chris Wilson (of Path of Exile fame) is working on an online Sorcery client
>>98447219Out of curiosity, why collect this particular card?
>>98447465Named after the company and the creator, fairly iconic and alpha, and to be honest I just wanted to have a bunch to decorate around the signed foil. They weren't all acquired purposefully, many of them came from buying out other peoples collections, or were offered to me by other collectors who knew I had a bunch.
>>98447359You have a lot of very pretty cards, but these in particular are quite nice.Thank you for sharing, anon. Do you play the game or just collect?

Sorcery isn't a board game right?
I'm going to be at 2D Con in the indie showcase later this month. Got a new card game (non-tcg) that I'm shopping to publishers right now. Picrel, it's one of my favorite cards from the game. I love this artwork!>>98445964We have that here in Burger Land, too. They're doing it because their suppliers don't send them the product they need to keep their shelves stocked. To me, it's a symptom of a larger problem.>>98445904>Making money off of PokemonI highly doubt that. Wholesale prices on sealed product are bonkers. There's no profit margin unless you're scalping to hell and back. If the wholesale distribution up there is anything like down here, most LGS are lucky to get a booster box or three per order unless they're "one of the big sellers.">>98445392Leftover stock is a huge problem. The owner of Speedrobo Games had to deal with that when he worked for Bushi. He told me about all the returned product they got. So much returned TCG product...
>>98448611>Leftover stock is a huge problem.Yeah, it's a killer that people don't realise is as bad an issue as it is unless they've been in the industry.

Man, eBay is so ass for selling cards. Is it a "get premium or forget ever making sales" sort of deal? And no I'm not investoring, I'm just trying to get rid of spares. How viable are the gundam starter decks? My LGS has tournaments and I'm curious about playing. Can I grab two and slam them together for a decent deck or am I better off just ordering the cards online to put together a deck?
>>98451457You're better off getting two of the reprint bricks from the new Deck Build Box. They reprinted most of the best cards of the first year in it. The boxes themselves are overpriced because of the packs and promos though, but you can find people just selling the bricks for reasonable prices.
Finished tidying up my translations, made sure my script to pull and merge new cards all worked so set 2 will be super fast to add and decided it'd be a good idea to make a version of the rules too.I'll probably only play this piece of shit with like 2 or 3 people total but it continues to make me laugh a lot.
>>98450945Twist my arm, why don't you?The game is called Boshin Sensou. It's named after the Japanese civil war of the same name. The goal was to make a turn based strategy war game in card format. One mechanic that the game uses is the offense/defense/econ triangle of RTS games. I love that about games like StarCraft, and I wanted to find a way to make it work in here. All of the artwork is public domain and made within 40 years of the Boshin Sensou. I grabbed most of it from The Met in NYC, they have CC0 scans of the artwork uploaded to their website. I can use that art, for free, legally, and I don't have to credit them or spend a dime on it. It's kinda glorious, and it sets the vibe for the game so well.Citizens (bottom row) are used to draw cards, build defensive structures, generate Ryo, and support your Warriors. Warriors (upper right) guard your city and attack other cities. Structures (upper left) provide extra defense for your city center and can buff your Citizens and Warriors. Each player starts with 10 defenses in their city center, so every structure definitely helps. My goal at 2D Con is to win an award or three that I can take to publishers and use as leverage. I figure I can make use of that to generate buzz and/or attention for the game, maybe get noticed by other publishers who would be interested in a game like this. I've already got a couple nibbles, but nothing concrete just yet.
>>98452059I would totally play this with friends. It sounds hilarious. I hope you set up a Google drive or catbox or something so we can all download it and share it around.
Genuine question here, what are card games doing that come out in the last decade that set them apart in any meaningful way from whatever is already on the market? I’m really honestly curious. might check some of them out.
>>98452512Unironically FaB due to it being a position jockeying/auctioning game while also being a TCG.The early sets also had VERY good themeing. I think Welcome to Rathe is probably one of my favorite TCG sets of all time theme-wise.I also don't actually really like the game, at least what it's morphed into since thenRadlands is a boardgame that is non-collectible but also sits in being a pretty awesome card game with meaningful differences to other games and is incredibly cheap to buy. The game features no combat system and no "inherent" creature systems so every creature you play has an inherent ability you can activate using the same resources you use to play cards. The game also features ID?commander-like camp cards that you pick from at the start of the game that determine how large your opening hand is and also have abilities on them, instead of having life points the goal is to destroy all 3 opponent camps

I didn't follow reddit's advice and cracked open a box of Compedium of Rathe and got this in the gold booster (haven't touched the other boosters yet). This is like 50% more than what I paid for the entire box, according to TCG Player. Is it that good?
>>98454320It’s good in Gravy Bones
A new store just opened in my city, and there’s a pretty big One Piece TCG community. I’ve played a few games with Yellow/Black Teach and really enjoyed the deck, so I’m thinking about buying it.My only concern is OP-17 releasing at the end of the month. Does a new set usually shake up the meta completely, or do decks like Y/B Teach tend to stay relevant? Would you buy the deck now or wait for OP-17?
>EX summon have no amount per turnShitdai really thinks autist wont figure out how to deck vomit this shit
>>98454790Even in the demo deck the Naruto deck can chain through 4 EX summons if you get the right hand and do like 10 damage. However the Trap effects are powerful, it's a very Aggro vs. Control thing, if the aggro player vomits out too many EXs, you just interrupt and then on your turn use one of the 2 chakra destroy all characters and then beat up your opponent now they have no hand.
>>98453496I already have GA I'm not gonna play something with even more AI art
Thanks anon from the last thread, my copy of kartomantik just arrived today.
>>98454649When I played OP every new set had a new top tier deck. Some of the old meta decks were still relevant but a step below and some were trash against the new deck.
>>98454649Top decks change pretty much every set.The oldest good leader we have right now is Nami from OP11, and that's because her effect is completely busted and such every time they print a generic good blue/yellow card, she gets better.Since then,>OP12: Zoro was good for 2 sets, now is ok>OP13: Imu was good for 3 sets, is now ok, Ace is still kinda relevant>OP14: Mihawk is still really strong and getting better, Hancock was really strong but has kinda fallen off, Crocodile is there>OP15: Enel is still really fucking strong, Lucy is okThen some other sets that weren't that strong at release but have grown later like OP12 Rosinante, OP13 Luffy.
>>98451457Not even a little but a lot of them do have the bones of some meta decks. Wing has fallen off but the ST01, 3 and 4 still have important pieces that see play. You're best off with singles or getting the bricks off people who only cracked the deck build box for packs and promos. The sealed deck build has come down quite a bit but is still like 50% over msrp.
High level player got to talk with the lead Holoka designer this past weekend.>Likes all Holomem, Iroha showing up in so many sets is a coincidence>Dev team actively avoiding rotation and Entry/Selection cups are designed for newer stuff to shine>The current EN weirdness is so we have a different meta than JP but they still want EN to eventually catch up with JP>Sets are designed up to a year in advance>Wants the game to be focused on 2nd Blooms (2nd Stages in Pokemon) but also calls out Rare Candy for being poorly designed. Pic Related is Holoka's closest equivalentWanted to share mostly for the callout towards Rare candy because that card makes Pokemon pretty fucked up

>>98456071
>>98455486Marine sexo.
>>98455486>because that card makes Pokemon pretty fucked upRare Candy is kind of a necessary evil born of the unfortunate fundamental imbalance of Pokémon having strong single stage legendaries that need to be accounted for, though it's not even really the most fucked up or annoying part of the game. There are worse things, like how the fundamental reliance on draw RNG to get evolution and energy going was addressed by vomiting the most disgusting amount of draw and consistency boosting you can imagine onto the game (Holoka already fixed this partly by making resources a separate deck), or that fucking little plant that everyone hates.

Has anyone tried a mostly purple neo zeon deck for Gundam?
>>98456071>>98456076Well obviously because Sorcery Alpha is doing numbers on TCGplayer that means it's a huge game with bigger events and more players than FaB. That is definitely the correct way to interpret the data, yes.TCGplayer is highly representative and tells us everything! Yes yes yes! Just two more weeks and it's OVER for FABGOTS!>>98454320Good luck selling it for that much. Also, it's going to $0 in TWO MORE WEEKS!

>>98456913Why did you seethe at sorcery and not riftbound in that image? Arent you targetting the wrong game?
>>98456935Sorcery is a good comparison because it's a niche non-IP game, and illustrates a point because it is smaller than FaB on several metrics but nobody is constantly doomposting it. The important point is TCGplayer "analysts" don't have half the market insight they think they do.I like Sorcery.
>>98454320This is good in multiple decks. Good pull on the antiquity pack. Most of PEN boosters I feel it to sell the gold pack and you only need like $30 in cards to come up.
>>98456934>SUP and ROSExcellent taste and in a better world most sets would be designed the way those are. More emphasis on the identity of a card type, less on ultra-locked-down dual type cards that are really only for a single hero.Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the people who buy the most FaB don't like that approach.
>>98456961Well sure but the reason people doompost FaB is because in the best possible environment during a tcg boom it is actively shrinking and is smaller than it was a year ago, whilst riftbound and sorcery are both overwhelmingly larger in the same time frame, of course fab is bigger but they're moving in opposite directions
>>98456986Thanks anon. I agree the designs of those sets are great. I though High Seas was going to be like that, but alas.I still like the game and I enjoy the cheap cards. I do admit I did start out last year buying two booster boxes of Monarch 1st Ed. I did pull the CF Husk so it wasn't so bad.
>>98456934It's actually a really comprehensive video on the truth of the numbers right now. He pointed out that somewhere around ROSE and HUNT that they actually figured things out, but because LSS are constantly reinventing the wheel and never stick to a patterned release, they blew right past it and created the mega slop known as ComPENISdumb. I will die on the hill that Superslam is an amazing product though, people are just not as into the theme of medieval theatrical wrestling as the dev team clearly was. However you had four completely different playing heroes, grouped by a talent that shared half the cardpool. Sealed, draft and constructed of those heroes are actually some of the best fab I've played recently.
>>98456989>b-b-but the tcgplayer numbies>didn't you see the screenshot numbies???It has been 7 years of two more weeks already, when FaB finally winds down you'll be there to claim predictive power like the retard you are.FaB could run for 20 years and you'll be posting shit like "I knew it was DoA, glad I never wasted my time for money on that pyramid scam in plain sight!".
>>98457022Anon... you might be a schizo
>>98457130Nah, mate. This thread always shat on FAB while ignoring its merits. There was a schizoid that believed it was a pyramid scheme fake and gay game though, and they wouldn't shut up about it. Quite literally every time it was brought to the table for discussion, you'd see that screeching retard shit up the whole place all over again. Back then fab was the punching bag of the thread, even when it hadn't done a single damned thing to deserve it. Ironically the company has ran the ship around now, many many years after the fact, which now """validates"""" those shitfits. Players that adopted the game early for all those years know first hand it started good and kinda mutated into a bit of a mismanaged mess. It's still fun, it's still a brilliant card fighting system, the math is sound and the incremental advantage is something few tcgs do correctly, but it ain't being handled as skillfully as it should from its creators. But yeah, go ahead and keep NO-U ing the conversation to death until the fabulous warriors disperse.
>>98457008I just watched it and it was pretty spot on with prices and it's very strange to me about the cheap prices as well, but I still even enjoy the occasional $5 booster, as it's still relatively cheap. I also have a soft spot for SuperSlam because I cracked a Hawaiian Pleiades from the first 5 boosters I bought.

>>98460762I didn't really understand that schizo part. Did someone buy up all the gothic stock or something? They can't reprint it? Or what am I missing here? Is it just about people being bored with it? Then play less, with these weirdly worded, unbalanced effects Sorcery will always be a casual game anyway, or a miserable competitive experience.
>>98460804>Or what am I missing here? It's a void of draftable product, placing further pressure on the first two (good) sets. Beta continues to go up, Gothic will rise too as there's no other source of cards poured into the game. Playing the sealed format for multiple years is fun, to a point. The longer people spend with a given set the more the game gets "solved."
>>98460804Holy bootlick, Batman. >if you don't like it, leave That's the worst possible outlook for a game, depending entirely on shoeshine to keep the game relevant. You're coping with the fact the creators work super slow because they don't have a grip on innovating their own game and acting like it's a point of pride.
>>98460844Yeah I don't know, our sorcery local is just sitting down with jank decks once in two weeks or so to enjoy the game. I guess if you take this seriously for some reason then the reasoning has some merit, but I'm not even sure if they ever designed sets with drafting in mind, even if they support it.
>>98460881I'm telling you bro, there's exactly one good draftable set in that game right now. Beta was ass because an entire element was useless. You can't grow year on year off of one set's success. It's the problem other games suffer, they rest on their laurels and the rest of the world moves on.
>>98460881>has some merit, but I'm not even sure if they ever designed sets with drafting in mindSemantics. It's a draftable product, it can be enjoyed sealed as well as constructed. You're dodging the argument that things can become stale if they refuse to or are incapable of innovating effectively. No, missing an entire year of your "one booster set per year" isn't something to be happy about. It can simply not affect you, because you self reported that you're not that into the product as a game. But I bet that doesn't stop you from slabbing it.

>>98462340It's not that you have to build max rarity. It's that this is an omen. Now chase cards are worth two fold what you invest in a case at MSRP.It's free money hoping you get the right chase cards, but I'm sure even the other chases are going to go for stupid amounts as well that will be an easy return on investment. So now you're just going to be fighting dudes looking to make profit over playing the game, as they throw all the bulk playable into the trash because it's not worth selling/moving it over the cash cards.Just like pokemon at this point, you're fighting scummy dudes looking to make a profit off of the product rather than play, which makes getting shit to play with rather hard. But pokemon has the benefit of having bulk for sale you can get easier from TCG player, palworld doesn't have that infrastructure yet, so we are kinda cooked, and in 3 months the game could be DoA.Frankly, I'm from Rhode Island and no one here is even making an effort to become sanctioned through bushiroad to do events. >>98452715NTA but is there anything like the UDE WoW TCG? I miss it and curse Hearthstone to this day.Is there anything new that isn't an anime tie-in or some MtG sweats trying to reinvent MtG to make it more hardcore?
>>98452059Is this the one from back in the day where you won by milling your opponent's deck?
>>98455486When are we getting an Autofister PreCon?
Tutorial video out for the WuWa TCG:>https://xcancel.com/ucpcardgame/status/2085637077686009968
>>98461530The only place that has it nearby is the anime store which doesn't have enough space for people running games. Also doesn't have my oshi in it yet.
>>98462280>Hubworld>>98462316>Favorite game ever is Doomtown>No local community>Near vertical learning curve on deck construction means if I want to play with anyone I have to build decks for them.
I'm making a comic about a fake /acg/ do you guys want to see it when it's done?
>every other PriOke Wixoss event promo is at 30 euros top, some even at 20>Meteor is at 50Nagasefags...
>>98469096Yes.
>>98468813>>98468836If you like, I'm looking for playtesters for my own (digital) CGG. It's made to be played socially with friends in a lobby, no ladder or matchmaking, and you get all the cards immediately so easy to dip in and out of or share with other people. I run playtest sessions on Thursdays if you're interested.
>>98469200To be honest, I'm looking for a physical media game. I miss the tactile feel of clacking card cases willed with cardboard, you know? And I'm usually busy Thursday nights since it's my only weeknight off from work doubles. Depends on when you're hosting the playtest sessions
>>98469082Good thing the base set has 4 precons in it plus the one singleton deck they'll offer making 5 decks to teach the game. Yeah, they kinda just nailed it in the very first wave. P.s. I love doom to pieces but only ever got to play it with my mom and my brother. Want to play it again but the game bounces off of hard surfaces because of how dense it is.
>>98468929Justice Starter hit JP this past February and EN last month but the Devs said Gigi+ERB instead. Raora and CC still got a card in it though.
>>98469267They're happening at 7pm BST at present - you're welcome to join if you're curious. I'll probably run ones at other times (or you can just say if you want to play a game and I'll likely be available), so the time isn't too much of an issue. Fair enough about looking for physical though, can definitely understand that.
>>98469096a fake /acg/? a fake tcg? you mean
Is the OP Bandai desktop app in Europe down for anybody else too right now?I don't think that I was banned, I've never done anything remotely ban worthy. Gemini AI also says that bans usually have a direct message letting the people know that a ban occured.
>>98468906No, The brand new Movic Japan only one. It's sorta lorcana like where you resource a card each turn and tap them to pay costs but instead of picking colours you pick a "Partner" who gives you a once per turn and once per game ability to use. The other big unique mechanic is that downed characters just fall back into the "Support Field" and can be easily revived by discarding another copy of the same card, so crackbacks can be really powerfulThe Meta is apparently weirdly well balanced, with 3 of the ones I've seen mentioned a lot from set 1 being:Counterattack focused Wand McGonagall ControlGriffindor AggroSlytherine ControlDusrsley/Potter Midrange Complete Proxy set for Harry Potter Card Game 2026 Set 1 + Starter Deck 1 + Starter Deck 2 + Rules Translation:https://files.catbox.moe/x50m39.zip
>>98469648Oh, the other thing, no colours or anything, just some cards only have their effects if your Partner has a certain Name/TagSo there's no reason you can't do like a total grabbag of all the free-agent cards if you really wanted to.As an example the Voldemort they've shown for set 2 that's out in a few weeks for instance doesn't require any specific leader so could go in any deck ( although I think this is the one that requires unicorn blood or a Quirrel to eat each turn or he commits suicide )
Is Nivel Arena a general crossover game or is a mostly Nikke game with crossover content?
>>98469722The former it looks like
>>98469101Today I will remind them.
So did Naruto fix Yugioh
>>98470231Yugioh base gameplay is impossible to fix
>>98468813Give Ashes a look. Very playable out of the box, and a ton of expansions to choose from. Art is a little hit or miss in my opinion but its a very solid game and the dice resource mechanic keeps it pretty fresh and changes your decision making from turn to turn.
>>98470032Just say you have a lip fetish.
>>98470310Shut up, hater. You're the same guy that compared it to Vanguard. Stop posting here forever.
>>98470685Quiet schizo, yugioh is horrible in base gameplay. Even Rush Duels couldnt make it base gameplay enjoyable, a constant back and forth with no sense of progression which evolves into a algorithmic chain vs an interruption to that chain off or a second chain if the handtrap and omni negates fail
>>98468813There are tons. We're all super passionate about our own little games, so you could literally pick any game out of the list in the OP and it'd be a good choice. I'd tell you to play The Condemned. It's a solid hero battler designed with booster draft in mind. I might be a little biased and all, being the one who made it...>>98468893Not really. Elements have been borrowed by other games, but that's about it.>>98469648Ooh, I was wondering about a playmat. Thanks, anon!
>>98469648Looks neat. Any chance of a foreign release or do you figure it's gonna stay JP-only?
Fucking with swapping to HTML rendering to be able to do fancier formatting with the highlighted keywords and stuff. Fun to learn and I can apply it to other stuff like DueMa proxies so only slightly a waste.>>98470972Almost certainly JP only, There's some stuff in the website that's in english but I don't think Movic's stuff has ever been available outside Japan.
>>98468893Nah not really. proof in the pudding is that is one of the more "kept alive by fans" dead games. there's still new expansions and raids being done for it, and even tournaments sometimes. shit's been oop 15+ years. f there was a game doing it better people would have fucked off by now. >>98468813agree, the L5R reboot was such a disappointment.I'll second the anon who said Ashes >>98470511. that game is fucking sick and doesn't get enough love. one of the few games that can claim to be as intricate and deep as oL5R. same publisher makes summoner wars which is good. id also rec Sorcery and FAB as both being good but expensive. and a couple new LCGs in the outing: Gudnak is a faster, tighter sorcery, and Hubworld is a twist on the netrunner model. ofc there's always netrunner itself too. good as it ever was.
>>98471329There's also Sakura Arms if youre really into weebshit. I only consider L5R weeb adjacent.
>>98468813>desu as usual newfriend, whatever people at your lgs are playing is your best bet, otherwise your stuck begging your friends to play something or playing solo, come join us in LCG world
>>98441271>TQIt's hard to choose my favorite art since everything in sorcery is great, but I'd probably go with mirror realm. I'm also a big fan of the foil sorcery cards with an easter egg hidden behind the text box.
https://files.catbox.moe/8ujg0n.zipRedone all the cards with the finished up version of these HTML drawn overlaysNow that I built these scripts up to be nice and easy to make proxy stuff from, are there any JP only games people would want me to do this shit with?
>>98471668trinity draft
>>98471208bummer but checks out. The type of people who show up for commander night would have a stroke because of JK's takes, I imagine. A shame because the game looks mechanically interesting. I'm considering importing some as I was always kind of a potterfag and the mechanics look interesting enough on the surface.
How does Gundam TCG work? Do you build a deck around a colour, or a specific show, or a specific faction in a show? Am I gimping myself if I use a load of mooks like Daughtress rather than just Gundams etc?
>>98473480Two color max. You can mix and match factions but some of them have mechanics that care about faction keywords. Generally you want to focus on 2 or 3 link units which is where on the bottom of the unit there is the name of a pilot or trait like newtype. Attaching one of those pilots gives the unit haste so its one of the most important parts of deckbuilding. Most decks will have some grunts but if you want to daughtress specifically youd be building UNE and playing the frost brothers, Virsago, etc. Not a particularly strong or fleshed out faction desu.
>>98472382That’d be fun, it’s a contained number of cards.I’ll see if I can find a full card list and whatnot, anyone with resources would be appreciated
>>98473619I believe the site lists every card.>https://trinitydraftcards.com/blaze/all>https://trinitydraftcards.com/phantom/allYou'll have to check around for the exact ratios of them though. And the rules books:>https://trinitydraft.com/ruleThere's probably more useful stuff on the site too.
>>98473762>You'll have to check around for the exact ratios of them though.Ratio is just super simple, for blaze it's 1 of each Legend: 10 designs; 10 cards2 of each Rare: 20 designs; 40 cards 3 of each Uncommon: 46 designs; 138 cards4 of each Common: 36 designs; 144 cards9 Voids

There sure are a lot of lolis in Digimon TCG.
Bougt the Digimon Data Squad starter on a whim. The last time I played a Digimon cardgame was Digi-battle back in 2000. Any suggestions on how to expand it? Should I get Dual Revolution and pray for data squad cards or are there good ways to transition to Green-Red with Rosemon?Favorite Digimon is Togemon but it looks like game focuses on ramping to ultimates rather than mid tier wins.
>>98469530No I mean an /acg/, people playing a dead game instead of mtg
>>98476028
NEW>>98476609>>98476609
>>98473528Looking at Digimon, I think my biggest issue with Bandai TCGs is overuse of the same characters. There's like 9 different WargreyMons in Digimon with different effects and you need to know the set number for them. From talks about Gundam TCG and Assemble it sounds like they want to go down that path as well. Will really hurt with Naruto because that setting desperately needs an expanded universe.
