>>98453181ynnari were a downs syndrome plotline and im glad they aborted it.
Nobody that posts that shit likes Eldar.
>>98453181They're going to kill off Ynnead with Slaanesh about to consume every last Eldar soul only for the Emperor to magic punch Slaanesh in the bussy and claim the Eldar souls for his own as part of the 40k endtimes.Source? Trustmebro
>>98453181That's what happens when you let Gav and Mike write an entire faction. The Ynnari were useless tossers who had no plan, every single one of their heavy hitters lost to an ILLUSION of a Keeper of Secrets, who stole the last macguffin they needed to actually awaken Ynnead and become relevant to the metaplot and now the Ynnari failed at their one, singular job. Don't bother with his novels either, because they're not any better. It's just Yvraine being very confused and incompetent for two entire books, while dragging her warriors into stupid, meaningless wars that just get thousands of her own troops killed off for no benefit whatsoever (except Ynnead is happy eating their souls I guess). Gav successfully sabotaged the entire concept just like he's been hard at work sabotaging the Craftworld Eldar for decades. You'd think someone at GW would be a little upset at him for just writing "and then the Ynnari fucking failed at their sole purpose forever lol" but I guess not!Not that Brooks has done any better. His Orks books turned the Drukhari into bumbling incompetents who can't even work together to destroy a Waaaagh rampaging through Commorragh. Somehow, someone at GW thought this was fantastic and made him write the Lelith book, where Lelith abandons the Ynnari and immediately stages a coup on Vect, then decides at the last second not to kill him because she wants someone else to handle all the bookkeeping of running Commorragh for her. Vect is now a humiliated and emasculated failed tyrant who exists solely to lick Lelith's boots. Great writing! Love the nuanced take on Dark Eldar intersectional politics! Then for good measure they handed him the big Corsairs novel meant to hype Yriel's release, and in this novel the Corsairs are self-sabotaging incompetents who could have saved an entire Craftworld (their EMPLOYERS who PAY THEM) from destruction, but chose not to for the lols. Our heroes ladies and gentlemen!I fucking hate Gav and Mike.
>>98453272I wish someone would fuck a first founding chapter as hard as they did the Eldar factions. It would be funny to finally have space marine fanboys get a taste of what gw serves to non marine factions.4 books plus of retcons that remove every victory they ever could or have had and retcons the entire primarch's lineage into fodder for nurgle or some shit because the current chapter master of the space wolves fucked up would be some funny shit.I'm so sick of marine players telling me to be grateful for the path "trilogy" or the ynnari plot line.

>>98453354>Iron hands>Manus died cuz he tried to off his traitor brotherOkay, so actually trying to do the right thing is a big W, especially since we already knew he was dead before the series began. Fuck, even Manus could come back in 40k so you're not even down a primarch. But do go on, tell me how the imperium and the iron hands are somehow more fucked by the lore than Eldar.
>>98453381Let's see, the imperium wins, doesn't need a deus ex machina, and no major subfactions were annihilated. The space marine/imperium metaplot isn't fucked beyond all recognition by the series and its actually a coherent book that isn't just the same thing copy pasted from 3 perspectives with no new information.Yeah thats not a great example.

>>98455177That's far from the worst 40k series ever written. >the author's not even slightly concealed fetish
>>98453181the eldar should never have had that plotline, that was a plan spanning millenia. maybe in 45k or 50k they would have had enough souls in their craftworlds to create a new god. not now.
There should be a big conflict between xeno-tolerant progressive Guilliman and old timey HERESY Lion and the Imperium should split into 2 warring factions, Terra and Ultramar. Ynnari should join Ultramar permanently as the new human-eldar hybrid faction, despised by both other humans and other eldar, but with cool new tech.>techpriests tinkering with Webway>Eldar Dreadnoughts>Human Wraithlords>Warp Spider Marines, some crazy Eldar style Titan>Ultrasmurfs with their own Craftworld flagshipMeanwhile, to balance things out, Lion unlocks vaults with forbidden Dark Age tech and the Terran Imperium gets new reality-warping weapons and vehicles, maybe even awakens some shackled Men of Iron and Abominable Intelligence.
>>98495141That kills the Eldar.
>>98453181Aeldari are not elves, they're aliens. Stop trying to insert your dumb fetish, noldorfag.
Ynnead stuff feels like it was supposed to be a mechanism for squatting both the Deldar and Eldar range into one cohesive book. I am sure that made some sense at the end of 7th/beginning of 8th ed. I am not sure what made them to decide to reverse course but nearly a decade later and both factions have received notable refreshes with more on the way.
>>98495542Ynnead has basically been handled like a girl who is having a Goth phase through high school. Noticed for a second but quickly forgotten.
>>98495141Sounds like what you want is Age of Sigmar.
>>98495141Yeah but what do eldar get out of this? We already have warp spiders, titans, better dreadnought equivalents and craftworlds. This just seems like a shitty extension of numarines even further into the Eldar range and playstyle.
>>98495542No that makes even less sense in 7th/8th/9th as those were the editions where eldar had 3 codexes: Eldar, Dark Eldar, and Harlequins.
