When did you realize that the MALE HUMAN FIGTHER is a forced meme and most people prefer to play interesting fantasy races and interesting class choices?
Not only human got mogged but so did the fighter class. KWAB
>>>/v/
>>98466406Cope and seethe. You lost.
>>98466401Elves truly are the best.
Male human fighter was a meme which was very obviously carried by people who listened to D&D podcasts more than they played games. I've played in lots of different campaigns and I've had just as much fun with a human male fighter as I did with a female naiad assassin. >>98466406This is the heart of it though. It was really fucking /v/ carrying the meme. The whole thing took off because of that BG3 dev post.
What a huge pile of semitic socialist queerness.
>>98466401>BG3 vs >DND Beyond Same time frame which is neat. What was the BG3 data set size? This was apparently 1.2 million characters. Different analysis of the same stuff noted >Regardless of race or class preference, the most common character name in D&D Beyond was simply Bob. lmao
>>98466401>>98466404>In the videogame human fighter is second to the "most OP, and best RP build click video to learn more" option That is not the win you think it is.In D&D 3e development the devs talked about Human Fighter being the most popular option In D&D 4e development the devs talked about how they made Fighter a bad damage dealer to encourage people to try the other classes since everyone prefers DPS in videogames. In D&D 5e development they didn't talk too much about it, but implied most people gravitated towards the Fighter, which is why all of its less simple options got removed or made simpler.
>>98466401If this chart is true why do game developers keep pushing freakshit?
>>98466591You'll live.
>>98466620>how does DEI investment work?
>>98466613I don't think they give a full number, I saw that for the time frame the only number given was 1.3 million players completed the story.
>>98466693Excuse me, but from what I see they typically do not consider fantasy races of any kind to be valid "diversity" and that only humans can be.
>>984666941.3 million is close enough we can work with that. The odd part is only counting >completed the story compared to characters made. I suspect if we included characters made at all in BG3 the number would be fuckhuge but start getting into people using it only for the fun of the dressup doll for a bit rather than the game. Still, might be able to note the difference between analogue dnd and BG3 having a different audience with some overlap, but notably different preferences in character. The notable difference being, really, that being prittier was more popular in a visual medium. Who would have thunk? Are we even allowed to sort by respondent gender anymore? Would be interesting to see that and cross reference.
>>98466401That's for a videogame where your PC is required to be the Party Face most of the time and is the one doing dialogue 99% of the time. Of course Paladin is the most popular/literally me/ class when it's been the designated protagonist class for decades AND is Charisma based so you're actually able to pass the hundreds of Persuasion checks. It's exactly the same as it was 20 years ago with Neverwinter Nights. Paladin was also the most popular class for soloing the campaign and DLC because you're good at all the social checks while also having buffs and the ability to stand still whacking shit in melee. If anything the fact Fighter is the third most popular after Paladin and Sorcerer is extremely impressive for a videogame
>>98466694>>98466765its pretty typical for people not to finish the gamethere are RPGS out there where only 80% of people killed their first enemy
>>98466401male human fighter is a contradiction where its simultaneously in danger of dying out and needs to be shilled to protect itwhile also being the clear favorite of the masses and only contrarians would ever pick anything else
What's the differmermence between a cleric and a paladin?
>>98466613>5.5+ million playersvs>1.3 million playersYou lost.
>>98466827Human male fighters complain about snowflakes while being the biggest snowflakes themselves. Nothing new.
>>98466619What? 4E's Fighter wasn't a bad damage dealer.
>>98466831Paladin is a martial warrior with a little spellcasting and a bunch of passive divine blessings. Cleric is a full divine caster equivalent to Wizard or Druid. It's like the difference between a Ranger and Druid.
>>98466613>What was the BG3 data set size?Absolutely fucking enormous, the game sold over 2.5 million copies during its early access, and well over 25 million from release to now.
>>98466831In 5e?Going supernova and ruining your DM's carefully planned encounter in one turn.In 3.5?You play a cleric, get weapon feats to use real weapons, and LARP as a Paladin instead. In all cases.

>>98466401>Source: Journal of Homosexual Activities article titled "Faggotry and Tabletop Gaming" by James de Poofer Cumguzzler III
>>98466900OK, this was a launch weekend infographic, and you can work backwards to determine how many there were total. 7% of players made Origin characters and 93% made custom characters. Origin characters were: 27784 Gale, 22514 Karlach, 22286 Astarion, 15966 Shadowheart, 14862 Wyll, 11765 Lae'zel or 115177. So if you extrapolate that's 1,530,208 fully custom PCs, or 1,645,386 PCs total.
>>98466954big respect for mathing it up anon
>>98466613>48,740 human-fighters / 1,204,252 total characters>4% (rounded up)Yeah, pretty popular choice.
>>98466900You can literally see the numbers in both pictures>Male human fighters now JOBBING to infographics
>>98466954>1,645,386 PCs totalAs a launch stat compared to a rolling stat with DND beyond right? Man we are not a common form of nerd. >>984669684% out of that many options is notable and interesting to compare to the next two choices, which are less than 4% combined. >dwarf and dragonborn Elf ranger looks like it was the next most popular, then elf rogue and elf wizard. Just pays to be pretty. >>98466996Not in as easily quantifiable manner. There were other anons bringing in data from different sources or maybe just reading the article for all I know. It does bring in why bother comparing video game audiences to ttrpg audiences or maybe a more interesting comparison of crossover and which choices happened there. You're stuck on some weird shit about mogging, which is already unc.
>>98467021Why would anyone care about muh specifics when the purpose of this post is showing that human male fighters are shitposters that forced a shit meme and people actually enjoy playing as other races more? All images and info so far supports that.
>>98467040>more people play videogame dnd than analogue dnd >people who like moving pictures like pretty moving pictures>news at 11! Thanks for the insight champ. I'm sure it'll go down in history as an epic own of whatever it is you're mad about that's renting your hindbrain.

>>98466613>the most common character name in D&D Beyond was simply Bob.This is proof that the "human fighter" influx was just made by people who don't give a shit about the game and just want to murder hobo.>>98466619>In D&D 4e development the devs talked about how they made Fighter a bad damage dealer to encourage people to try the other classesWhy is this a constant thing with game developers of just kneecapping something JUST because its popular even if its fairly balanced or even weaker then everything else?
>>98467209It's because they want to push people into the changes immediately rather than organically waiting for the playerbase to shift, which results in balance passes or supplemental fixes to undo the over-corrections. Knee capping fighters is retarded because it's the easiest class to get into, ergo entry level for new players, and it's also the class a lot of people can self insert with easily. There's a huge charm to just being a mundane human fighter who uses a combination of courage, guile, skill etc to adventure.
>>98466401> Play Human> Play Martial> Develop a unique style based on favored loadout(s) and build focus> Be unique and special because everyone is a fucking elfIt's like Death Battles where I want my favorite characters to lose (unless there is something very circumstancial going on like Gus (Berserk) vs. SoulEdge/Nightmare (Soulcalibur)) because the "loser" has less bullshit layers. But, hey, feel free to celebrate finding yourself in the middle of the bellcurve.
>>98466404>>98466401BG3 isn't the tabletop game. In the TTRPG, the most common race-class combination is Human Fighter. Though really, this is mainly because the class and race are simple to understand and variant human in 2014 is overpowered.
>>98466831Clerics cast spells and occasionally hit things.Paladins hit things and occasionally cast spells.
>>98467501Except that human is still the second most popular in BG3And in 5e, it was the number one and by a huge marginThere is nowhere where human is close to rare
>>98466401I always avoided it because of the meme. But now that I'm actually playing one (kinda)*, it's been pretty fun.*It's Star Wars 5e set during the Clone Wars so players could be Jedi. I chose to be a Clone Trooper.
>>98466401>video game>has only select roleplaying options in conversations>people gravitate to the characters that will give them interesting things to choose in conversations>TTRPG>roleplaying options are only limited to your own ability to improv and, ROLE play> So literally any character option gives the same freedom to roleplayThe Human Male Fighter is therefore not inherently less interesting than any other option at the table. Most players who choose odd fantasy races and "interesting" classes generally fail to make the character itself interesting. Or just play them as the bundle of cliches the 2 paragraph description in the book tells them to with no deeper or more interesting roleplay.
>>98467209>>the most common character name in D&D Beyond was simply Bob.>This is proof that the "human fighter" influx was just made by people who don't give a shit about the game and just want to murder hobo. The thing is that what other name could it possibly be? John? Let's say that you come up with a cool, thematic, fitting name for your human fighter, like Octavius or Victor. Well, if I come up with a cool, thematic fitting name for my human fighter, it's not gonna be the same as yours, it'll be something different, like maybe Raiden or Seven Devils Clever. Only super generic names like John, Bob, or Jane can possibly be the most popular name.
>>98466620They're not "pushing it." The players like it. That's why tieflings, drow, and dragonborn outperform dwarves, gnomes, and halflings. Fuck, even githyanki do.Fucking retard.
>>98467628I think this just means that most character's are made by bored powergamers or GM's
>>98467631I didn't save it because I'm not a /v/tard, but Larian had something of a conniption that human males were quite popular and they bemoaned that people weren't taking advantage of the character creation options that are, frankly, super fucking limited. But, you know, they worked hard on the handful of different types of horns you can have.
>>98467639It's just a numbers game, nothing to do with "bored powergamers." The most common single result has to be generic, because non-generic results won't occur with frequency.Imagine a list of 10,000 names. Even if most of them are cool names that the player put effort into picking out, there won't be (many) duplicates in that group. (There might be, like, a couple Houyis or something.) The only way to get duplicates is exactly what you would pick as like a generic stupid name. At best, you might get them naming themselves after some anime character like Kirito. More likely though, is that it's a hyper-generic or placeholder name like Bob.>>98467662That post was written by somebody who doesn't understand statistics. See above.
Elf and paladin supremacy. Based.
>>98467576Incorrect. The great majority of players play other races. Even if no one plays one single race most than humans in the posted poll above they still play with something that is NON human. But it seems that human fighters snowflakes can't decide if they want to be super rare or super common. They just know they want to be special because they're insincere losers envious of the actual cool players who play fantasy races.
>>98466860As more books came out it especially became amazing at it.At launch/development they wanted it to feel like a MMO tank class, whether they succeeded or failed is irrelevant.
>>98467626I also bet that at least half of the elf players played wood elves because they have the fastest movement speed of all playable races
>>984664015e isnt the best indicator of most of dnd census wise.also bg3 isn’t 5e >no bounded accuracy>no dodge action >no grappling >mmo gear with set bonuses>infinite consequence free resting, zero resource management>basic weapon passives, actions every short rest (this one is good still not 5e)>many classes are completely fucking different
>>98467685>>98467628You *might* have had a point if it wasn't tied to human fighter. Human fighter is just a meme made by murder hobos that freakshit players then use to justify to prove how nobody actually plays freakshit.how many stories do you hear or games you encounter where you have that many human fighters or characters with boring mundane names?
>>98467209>This is proof that the "human fighter" influx was just made by people who don't give a shit about the game and just want to murder hobo.Nah, there's been concerted effort to remove the human male fighter from dnd since before you were born.
>>98466404Paladin is fighter, we count those
We could take the higher elf paladin data to be a variety of things but the most amusing is that its a significant increase in people wanting to self insert as super aryan soldiers of god. Its a common enough trope and honestly a thing many get accused of or tropes both elves and paladins get lumped under a lot, so why not lean into it. The player base is actually more racist, they're fantasizing about being tall blond supermen with divine powers to smite evil demons. Like tieflings. I'm sure someone could make a >grey npc face vs patrician face about this.
>>98467698No, we have the stats. Human Fighter is the most played combination in 5e. While I agree that the human fighter fags on /tg/ are annoying as shit you're also being an annoying little shit which makes you just as bad as those gigafaggots. While yes, I enjoy non-humans myself when I play a fantasy RPG, there's something to be said about having the human element for contrast in a party. Like, my current 2024 group has one human and ironically they're the weird little freakazoid gremlin of the party, a moon druid, who's with a Thayan Bugbear Armorer Artificer who was basically too smart for his own good, a Silver Dragonborn Redemption Paladin of Bahamut (my PC) who's a good-natured dipshit, and a tiefling (don't know what kind) shadow sorcerer whose personality can best be described as "if they aren't my friends, they meet their end". With how relatively composed and normal the rest of us are, the human stands out for being a little gremlin who gets into everything and is suspicious of everyone. And, personally, I like fighters. Not so much in 2024 where they're boring as fuck but 2014 fighter was alright and seeing as I've overhauled all the 2024 classes the version of Fighter I've made is probably my second favorite class after Monk, though Paladin is winning me over since I grappled a bullette last session then punch-smited it in the head hard enough to knock it out with a crit.
>>98469164>no bounded accuracyI mean your stats still cap out at 20 and realistically there is an upper limit to how high your bonuses are going to get (unless you get mods involved).>no dodge action Because nobody used it anyway, the real crucial missing action is the Ready Action.>no grappling Because it's kind of shit, but there also sort of is. With Tavern Brawler you can use someone as an improvised weapon if you're strong enough, and you can also throw creatures, which are sort of both functions of grappling.>mmo gear with set bonusesStraight up not true, there are not, to my knowledge, any pieces of equipment that gain benefit from wearing the same pieces of armor. There are, however, magic items with more interesting abilities than in the tabletop.>infinite consequence free resting, zero resource managementAlso untrue without mods, you are limited by your camp supplies for long rests, and you can only take two short rests per long rest. Furthermore, depending on your choices, certain events can occur at camp that throw a wrench into things, especially in a Dark Urge playthrough.>basic weapon passives, actions every short rest (this one is good still not 5e)As of 2024, weapons now have Masteries which are very, very similar to the "weapon passives", and in some cases (nick) just objectively superior. Like I play with a mod that adds them, a dual wielding Champion Fighter/Thief Rogue with a dagger in the offhand is a crit fishing machine that can make four attacks per turn at level 3 (Main hand + two bonus action offhand stabs + nick attack).>many classes are completely fucking differentThis is because Larion didn't make the game scale to Level 20 and had to work within the limitations of vidya, so for example Wild Shape got massively nerfed.
>>98469759Nothing you said changes the fact bg3 is not representative of 2014 5e. It’s extremely easy to amass near infinite gold and food you can easily long rest before every fight. Larian has stated that bg3 took its own liberties with the system.

>>98466827It’s the schizophrenia of those who don’t realize that this whole “argument” is being conducted by shitty players who treat their race/class combination as their sole defining personality trait.
>>98469436>there's been concerted effort to remove the human male fighter from dndgood
>>98469436>>98471770that isnt even an example of removing the human fighter, who were otherwise inside the book already and had plenty of artit was an example of corporate forcing a decision to put them to put a human fighter on the cover and then taking out their frustrations by killing the specific human fighter mandated by corporateits a cheeky joke at worst, and the fact that it was a fighter that was human was probably the least relevant partif corporate had forced them to put gandalf on the front, they probably would have made art of gandalf being killed in all sorts of ways
>>98469993"those stats are made up, but these stories I heard all the on the internet are fool proof" is perhaps one of the purest forms of confirmation bias

>>98469818It is representative of it though? In so far as a video game adaptation can be.>It’s extremely easy to amass near infinite gold and foodThat's the case in the TTRPG as well. The GP amounts for later level starts are kind of insane. Like unless you're a wizard you do not need all that gold. And food is dirt cheap so it's incredibly easy to amass infinite food.>you can easily long rest before every fightYou can do the same thing in 5e. It's called Leomund's Tiny Hut.>Larian has stated that bg3 took its own liberties with the system. In stating this, you admit that Larian did in fact base BG3 on 5e/2014 and ultimately, BG3's rules are no different than a GM running houserules. They're still built on the core mechanics of 5e.
>>98469839>Freakshit races are not popular, its human fighters! They're not the most common, which is different from being popular. We have hard numbers to back this up. Also Freakshit is a meaningless buzzword.>That is why you only ever see freakshit at D&D games and only hear stories about themYou hear stories because nobody talks about the good times they have because those people have friends they play with and don't need validation from random literallywhos on the internet/don't care about farming content or replies. Also, you can discount like 99% of anything you read here because this board is full of nogames faggots. But the point remains, you hear about bad players because of what I said above, and the numbers flat-out state Human Fighter is the most commonly-played race-class combination in D&D.If internet stories are what you believe, then here's one: every single game of D&D I've run has been majority human in terms of the PCs. with MAYBE an Elf, MAYBE. Fighters less so, but that's usually because it's another martial in its stead like a Monk or Barbarian or some homebrew I provided, or there's a half-caster like a Paladin that fills the same role in the party mechanically, so people deviate from playing a Fighter as a result. You're also mistaking me for one of those obnixous HFY/Human Fighter faggots, which I am not. I'm just telling you how it is, the data for the actual TTRPG says that human fighter is the most common race-class combination for 5th Edition. You can't just go WOW LOOK AT MY CHART CHUDS THIS IS FACTS and then when you get given data for an entirely different game go NO THE CHART IS WRONG REEEE.
>No one plays fighter>Rogue becomes incredibly weak because no one else in melee to flank an enemy and pull a sneak attack with>Can only do one, MAYBE two encounters a day because the casters run out of spells, and are the only ones who can do any fucking damage>Bard is completely useless except for high diplomacy/bluff, but that all gets negated because they do random crimes that cause them to lose all trust>No one chooses to play cleric either because they're not interesting enoughThe games I typically end up GMing.
>>98466404>>98470666The real reason for Paladin and Sorcerer being so high is that BG3 vastly rewards high Charisma for talking your way out of a lot of situations. On top of that, Fighter is also nerfed in BG3 with Action Surge being worse and Sorcerer is buffed with Quicken Spell being better.
>>98466401A character is interesting because it is roleplayed well, not because it occupies a specific class/race. If the player sucks at roleplaying, then switching to a rare race and an even rarer class will make no difference.
>>98466401>>98466404Now show me statistics with a race/class combo. I'm certain Human Fighter is top choice in there.

>>98472521>It is representative of it though? In so far as a video game adaptation can be.NTAYRT Its in the same area, primarily because of overlap between ttrpg players and those same people being interested in the /v/ version. It would be interesting to see a more qualitative study on how they became interested in BG3 and what the crossover is with ttrpgs and look at that group's preferences, then do a 5 years and 10 years later survey to see what stuck or changed over time. For some reason or another I don't expect an easy time getting a grant for that sort of study.
>>98473222This is just factually untrue. A human fighter is a nothingburger, and 99% of people who play them don't actually play a character.A non-human, non-fighter comes with baked-in flavor and lore. For example, an Elf Paladin (as shown in OP's image) is more interesting by default because you have the aspects of an elf (timeless, aloof, arrogant) with the aspects of a Paladin (Devoted to a deity and oath, lawful, heroic) and the contrast between the arrogance and aloofness of the elf plays well with the heroism of the paladin, forcing the character into interesting situations where they have to wrangle their elvish nature to adhere to their moral code as a paladin.A human fighter has none of that. A human fighter is a nobody with a race that has no culture, no tendencies in terms of personality, and a fighter can literally do anything as long as it involves fighting so it also has no clear flavor. There's nothing there.
>>98471785Yeah, "ugh white men are so eww we need to make everything diverse and female yes sisters" is just a cheeky joke
>>98474567None of that matters. A good player will create a backstory for their human fighter that has plenty of hooks for the GM, several events that impact how the character is played, and will play their character in a way that improves the session experience for everyone. A shitty player playing an elf paladin will just roleplay a human with pointy ears who doesn't know anything of their own supposedly interesting culture, and will routinely (and annoyingly) fail to understand, play out or even react to their Paladin duties. Arguing that an elf paladin is more interesting by default is ridiculous because it is the player that makes the character interesting by reacting to the background and traits of their character.>humans have no cultureThere's at least 3800 cultures on Earth, so your claim that such a character would have none is a consequence of them being a shitty player. Not them being a human. Basically every setting have a bunch of different human cultures to choose from while other races seem to have monocultures that are identical to one another even when separated by thousands of miles.100% of this is on the player. It may be true that shitty roleplayers choose to play human fighters. I can't speak on that because I don't GM games that have classes. But the class and race in itself doesn't tilt things one way or the other. That's all up to the player.
>>98466536it was well known before bg3
>>98467631>>98467662just because human males are the most popular doesn't mean that gnomes and dwarves are popular or that drow and tieflings are unpopularbesides, in a video game context you're counting millions of characters the player didn't care about and probably stopped playing after half an hour, in a dataset where only characters the game was finished with are counted i imagine it would be very different

The only reason why I think that's the case is because your tourist noobie ass relates too much to them and feel threatened when called out on it.
>>98475060>annoying colorful character as a stand in for personalityTabletop is basically the only place where the imagination is truly your limit, since mass media like novels, comics, movies, and videogames all tend to force you to be or see the world through a standard human. It's not that hard, and your ire toward just comes off as the usual "people aren't playing the right way I want them to."
>>98470163I can't imagine the crippling level of retardation needed to out yourself as having no imagination like that.
>>98475121My problem in this particular instance is people insisting that "male human fighter named bob" is the most popular character to play as in genuine games when they have a single source without any details. >>98474567>There's nothing there. And that's the point. It's why people who don't want to RP or aren't comfortable choose the combo, and they should be allowed to have a "I want less spotlight on me in the RP" button at character creation. I don't really see how some people think this is a bad thing.
>>98474567>a race that has no culture, no tendencies in terms of personality, and a fighter can literally do anything as long as it involves fighting so it also has no clear flavor.that just means you're a shit roleplayer
>>98477649So you're saying it's the NPC Race/Class combo? >>98477689No, it's on the GM to establish the setting and what have you, and if they're using the Forgotten Realms, humans in that setting have no defined cultural identity, no defined personality traits, and nothing interesting about them. This is a feature, not a bug by the way.As for Fighters, they are also incredibly fucking boring flavor wise, and as of 2024 mechanics wise. Why the fuck would I play a Fighter when I could play a Barbarian or Monk which are more mechanically interesting and come with more interesting flavor than "dude who hits things with a pointy stick a bunch of times per turn"?>>98474888It absolutely matters, because the character's backstory is reliant on the setting being used, and the Forgotten Realms treat humans as generic slop with no clear identity as a race from a flavor perspective. If the setting doesn't give you guidelines, you end up having to make up whatever, and that can lead to a character unfitting of the setting.>several events that impact how the character is playedNothing that a Barbarian, Monk, Rogue, or Paladin wouldn't do better.>Arguing that an elf paladin is more interesting by default is ridiculous because it is the player that makes the character interesting by reacting to the background and traits of their character.False. Something with intrinsic qualities will be more interesting by default than something without. Human Fighter is the Toast Sandwich of D&D.>Food AnalogyHere's some food for you, eat this bag of cocks you insufferable faggot.>There's at least 3800 cultures on EarthFaerun is not Earth. >>98478104>>98479236It's the entire point of humans as a race. Gygax had said as much. Humans are there so you can instantly make multiple assumptions and be correct, because they are the self insert vector.

Human players in my experience exclusively select it for mechanical advantage, as humans tend to be busted.
>>98479236>Human male fighter cucksBut I'm a GM? It should have been obvious from my post I'm not saying it from a player perspective, I want everyone to play at my table regardless of assumption (when possible)
>>98480777And that in itself has been embarrassingly admitted in the past as deliberate because people are afraid humans won't be played.
So what you're saying is if I only play the same white male human fighter I am being unique. I am Joe Averyge, the eternal hero, the embodiment of the the human spirit in any dimension. I am a rock that the lesser races and professions shall be judged against.
>>98480763Reddit really adopted the whole HFY movement wholesale huh?

>>98480893You're the opposite of unique. You've created an NPC. A bland gray blob with no personality, no culture, no history, no personality, no distinguishing mechanics, and no flavor. You might as well be playing a town guard.

>>98480893>>98481011The problem with this logic is that falls apart in the literal OP of the threadThey are still the second most played species in BG3, hardly rare or unique and still ahead of stereotypical "snowflake" species like tieflingAnd in 5e, they are the number 1 species by farThis is just another page in the saga of human fighter fanatics trying to spin their character as being rare and special while simultaneously being the one of the most widespread class/race comboesNevermind that being different and special is suddenly a good thing to be when its the human fighter but not when its a tiefling warlock>>98481070You say this despite human fighters still being the most widespread and most popular
>>98481089My platitudes are still more interesting than your flaccid responses, so is my male human fighter town guard. >>98481091I guess I was playing the chad race/class the entire time

>>98481150He's an NPC, they can't hold any actual stances. They just kind of make noise.
BG3 player doing some board tourism. If I actually played tabletop D&D, I'd likely play a tiefling. I just think they're neat. I would never want to play a small race, including dwarves. I'd be open to playing a hobgoblin or bugbear if they were made available but my understanding is that you'd have to convince the DM to allow anything beyond what's in the PHB.
>>98481162And yet here you are, yapping in anger over my generic human male fighter while I get things done through common sense, low guile, simple ingenuity, or human grit. My character is an avatar for the human spirit, yours is a base delusion.

>>98481697>>HUMAN MALE FIGTHER ARE THE MOST COMMONis just a factually true statementwhile>HUMAN MALE FIGTHER ARE THE MOST RARE!!111is an untrue statement>The human male figther cucks are buck broken and dont know what lie to spitthey live in a persecution complex where they simultaneously believe that playing the same thing everyone else plays makes them normal, and normal is goodbut at the same time believing that they are being daring rebels for playing a normal human when everyone else plays a non-humanthis requires both believing a factually untrue statement, even though believing that human fighters are normal implies that they recognize the reality that they are actually very commonbut it also means they do derive pleasure from being different from other even if they have to engage in a cognitively dissonant worldview that they are both normal people making normal choices while also being very special people making uncommon choices
>take memes seriously and get into fights with strangers on the internet
>>98481697>>98481714Not one of those, forever gm so I get to run everything, but you're either ignorant enough of what you're mad about or purposefully missing the point to spin. A group can be a majority but still suffer at the hands of a centralized authority and media push. This is not specific to right, left or any other sort of american /pol/ nonsense. I'm sure your addled brains can come up with some examples that you like as well.
>>98482577Acting like playing a human fighter makes you different and special compared to everyone else who plays a tiefling paladin and then immediately turns around and says that they are normal and everyone else is a snowflake for playing anything else requires cognitive dissonance to believe human fighters are both incredibly rare and common simultaneously
>>98482582Yeah you're doing the pretending not to understand or being autistic thing. Your call. Your reply will announce your status regardless of your intentions.
>>98481011It won't happen, because they're a nobody with no grounding in the setting, no personality, no family or friends, and their only goal is to kill things and make money, because that's all Human Fighter fags ever make. They don't want to engage with half of the game.>>98481070Syndrome fallacy. When everyone is special, everyone is special. And really, Player Characters are inherently special.>>98481181Depends on the GM and the setting they're running. On the very rare occasion I run D&D, I homebrew entirely new races/species options to use with an entirely original setting and provide the players with a quick primer with all the basic info they need and keep open to questions if they want to/need to know more. Because that's what a good GM does.>>98481697The truth is they're all people who grew up with 3.PF and made super speshul snowflake OCs in their youth, and rather than own their cringe and go "yeah that was cringe but I've learned how to make more interesting and nuanced characters now" they jump to the other extreme because they, like their characters, are retards who dumped INT and WIS and so they make the most boring, bland, unoriginal character possible with no friends, family, or backstory who only cares about loot and money because it's the opposite of what they used to do. It's like those politicians who are anti-gay and then it turns out they've been having gay sex for years behind closed doors, the most vocal opponents of something tend to be the most guilty.
>>98482588Whats not to understand?Human fighters are just constantly bemoaning about how they are secretly the special ones for daring to be normal in an abnormal cast of characters when the statistics clearly show that human fighters arent just common they are dominant Its a mindset that wants to be seen as special while still wanting to be recognised as part of the majority
