Turns out GPT is good at remembering characters. So in this case, I just name the characters in the beginning and give their descriptions, in this case I like to set the stage, so

Then as I go through the panels I can just say "Alvesia is doing this" and "next pane: Cili is doing that".
And as long as I keep it in the same chat (I keep the memory turned off), I can have it generate a second image using the same characters. Possibly even a third but that damnable tiny image limit makes it hard to do further.

I don't know if it's something about your art style that's more resistant to the degradation, or if they've started to fix that flaw in their system, but I used to start getting noticeable degradation on any gens after the second pic (and even the second pic would show some subtle diminution in detail).
