While building getting started with Orks I've seen GW didn't include the alt builds for the boyz that I've seen exists in Armaggedon instructions online. Not a problem since it seems if you cut off the conection bits all of the arms are interchangable and heads are by default. But odd that they excluded that, considering the numbers are the same in Armaggedon sprues & instruction book so they could have just copy pasted the instructions.

>>98477720>>98477729I dont agree. The redemptor is only an anti tank piece in melee. The warboss, and break boyz can kill anything on the SM side, while the dakkarig and burna boyz are a big problem for the vanguard vets and eradicators. The 20 boys with the wierdboy using Da Jump can also be a huge issue. As during the waaaghhh while near max health that unit will simply drown any of the SM units in hits killing them. The SM player has to get a lot of use of the overpriced redemptor and the vulnerable eradicators to win. Also if you havent bought the Burna boyz or Nobz wait, they are getting new kits.

>>98477794One Page Rules is successful because people are just so sick of GW's bullshit when it comes to>massively overpriced minis>terrible balancing, with certain models either mandatory or useless on the tabletop for literally years and years, and broken armies sitting at huge winrates for months before being errata'd>entire armies people paid for (Imperial Agents) not being given a simple army rule, which would take 10 minutes for GW to implement and still hasn't been done>Rules that require a PhD to parse and know in totality because they're so unnecessarily bloated>Rules which are spread out across 50 different books, card decks, erratas, supplements, FAQs, subscription-locked apps etc when Wahapedia has already made it clear a single website can do everything >Rules codexes which become obsolete a month after their release>"Strategy Wargame" which works more like a board/card game than it should, where most of the strategy comes from what list you built at the start, requiring players to invest heavily in options to be competitive>factions (Dark Eldar) having large parts of their model range be made obsolete>Models being sent to Legends and made obsolete (which OPR fixes by just assigning models a generic template)GW hold a fantastic IP that they have a technical monopoly on, they make decent quality minis, but they don't really do anything else well with the IP. No wonder people who like the IP turn to alternatives.

>>98478089You've got some cool new salamanders outrider bikes coming next month
The problem with vanilla marines is that while, yes, they have a huge range and get a billion releases, all of them are completely mid compared to their brothers with their own codex. It's a roster of units that are all 6.5 - 8 /10 in theory, but have nothing tying them together. All that variety, but nothing to reward you for taking a wide range of units because the detachments want you to specialize in a handful of mid units.

They even have the drow's fondness for whips and curved swords.Hell, they even have a goodly renegade with a glowing magic sword.
>>98478141Commorragh is cooler than femdom: the race.
>>98478155Thanks anon. You’re actually correct.
>>98478152I've actually heard some people complain default CSMs are too "black legion coded" and that other undivided legions like Word Bearers or Alpha Legion or Night Lords and other CSMs need better support. Which fair enough I guess, give em a few upgrade sprues if founding chapters get the same treatment.
Remember Warhammer Horror?Remember Warhammer Crime?
>>98478161The wytch cults is matriarchal enough, just gotta have a spider bitch at the top, somehow.Which they could easily have since the elves/eldar have morai heg/ereth khial available as matron deity for a cult who could be associated with spiders.

>>98478180>default csm work wonderfully for all legionsSure, same as default space marines. But I can't really fault the other legions for wanting upgrade sprues. I think every faction should have more subfaction support like what marines get.
>>98478192>being poor
>>98477551Wanna know the real reason? It's because Leviathan and all the starter sets during 10th edition came with Infernus marines, so it made sense for people to lean hard into the fire/flamethrower-themed faction after a bit of research. Also because Green is an easy color to paint

>>98478195night lords and iron warriors got theirs, the god cults got their specific units, black legion and word bearers work perfectly even without an upgrade.it's just the alpha legion who could warrant a new upgrade sprue, but even then the fags wouldn't like it because they want their chaos free of chaos.
>>98478206"Deserve" is a very loaded word because we're talking about plastic spacemen being made by a gaggle of retarded brits, none of the factions "deserve" anything and anyone could disappear tomorrow for all we know. But to stop dodging your question: like I said previously, I'd love to see EVERY faction get more subfaction variety and flavor, and yes I'd prefer if it happened to the more unloved factions first. To be honest I can't think of anything Sallies could even get that isn't covered by default marines. Even more flamer subtypes? More thunderhammers because they're blacksmiths? One reason they've only got named characters is possibly because that's all GW can really think to add to them.
>>98478203nah fuck off I want my 100% elf chick squads
>>98478160They've struggled to find their niche especially since scouts were updated and GW decided to make them both really cheap and have more scouting skills than the specialist marines (free teleporting is crazy). But it made sense during the early primaris years to add tacticool snipers and veteran scouts to the range while core firstborn models were still selling well and didn't need direct replacement (same thing with gravis:terminators).Really hope they get a complete rules refresh in the next codex. Eliminators abusing the Hidden rule, consolidate infiltrators and incursors into one data sheet now that they don't sell some of the equipment options at all, finally figure out how to make reivers worthwhile over jump packs etc. I own way too many phobos marines.
>>98478235>same thing with gravis:terminatorsI still maintain Gravis were a second go at Centurions rather than an attempt to replace Termies
>>98478145>that's why I want more marines that exclusively use flamersReading comprehension>All that variety, but nothing to reward you for taking a wide range of units Go ask your 5th grade English teacher for remedial lessons
>>98478246see >>98478145>but the game forces you to specializeReading comprehensionYou complain about detachments obligating specialization being the problem, but then claim that's why subfactions that go all-in on specialization are superior.
>>98478253Codex'd marines have unique units, detachments that support those units, and strong HQs that support the playstyle well. Just because Imperial Fists and Salamanders have a few epic heroes and slightly modified detachments does not mean they're as specialized as Blood Angels or Wolves. And theoretically, I'm totally okay with that. But vanilla marines don't have anything to make up for the fact that there is no strong gimmick or mechanic to rally around. They just want you to be codex marines but worse.
What do you guys think would be a good main cannon for my Leeman Russ? I wanted something to deal with heavy armor mainly. Is plasma worth the risk it carries?
8th edition codex supplements for marine chapters like iron hands and raven guard were good, they should do that again in 11th.
>>98478195>>98478224it's extremely more easy to word bearer or alpha legion the generic legionaries though and ultramarines have an upgrade sprue so black legion would need one too the alpha legion is also harder to pin down because most players who are alphatistic would benefit from incorporating corsair renegades into their army, due to the similarly to loyalist armour patterns, since the AL 'lore' list would make heavy use of kitbashed patterns, traitor guardsmen and maybe an overt daemon prince if we assume it's the part of the alpha legion subversion where they bring in the "haha, we were always chaos" part of their forces.Word Bearers are easy though since it's>eight pointed star on armour>8 pointed star icon>horns horns horns>8 pointed start pauldrons>mutations and hornsIt's easy to make them the most chaosy you just need the daemonface pauldron for the "these are my guys" look. And helmets with even bigger horns, preferably.
>>98478296Are Blood Angels and Space Wolves really that specialized? They still have access to every single non-chapter Codex Marine unit and Detachment if they want to use them. If anything they have even more variety than the Codex Space Marines do
>>98478306Also some books n scrolls or some shit, WBs would be easy as fuck to upgrade sprue. ALs would just need the scaly armor from their HH lines because as you said, anyone who wants to play up stealth AL memes already has plenty of tools available to them.
>>98478145>>98478139Space marines are fucked up like stormcast, the GW rereleases and redos of the range to drive sales created a bloated range that theoretically covers a lot of bases but doesn't actually satisfy people who want to run Raven Guard with lightening claws and jetpacks or White Scars with lots of bike support (and the bikes are ugly). Some armies like Iron Hands have all this lore of Cyborg Marines and guys who are half tank tread half marine and robots that have the minds of dead iron hands uploaded into them (Helfathers) but the actual iron hands struggle to even find enough robot arms. This is why the primaris kits suck too, any complaint you can make for the legionaries being focused narrowly on black legion is 10 times worse for intecessors since it's difficult to even build them to be thematic- the 'themes' of armies like white scars having curved swords or whatever require a lot of upgrade sprues.
>>98478299Magnetize it. Barring that, IIRC the cannons are simple peg and slot connections, so you can skip magnets if you really wanted to and just have friction hold the gun in. There's really no reason to ever glue them in.
>>98478321>This is why the primaris kits suck too, any complaint you can make for the legionaries being focused narrowly on black legion is 10 times worse for intecessors since it's difficult to even build them to be thematic- the 'themes' of armies like white scars having curved swords or whatever require a lot of upgrade spruesAnd those upgrade sprues suck ass too.>here's 2 curved chainswords and 2 generic mk10 helmets with 1 lightning symbol on the helmetGee, thanks.I don't even mind primaris or mk10, but having an upgrade sprue that amounts to being just "here's a little sticker on your helmet" is just fucking lame.
>>98478310I would say DA/BA/SW/BT aren't specialized at all because their special units heavily overlap into the specialities of armies like raven guard (jump assault), salamanders (flamers), imperial fists being cucked out of being the Top Dorn Sons in general. The special codex boys get so many toys like the nephilim jetfighter or the flying box the space wolves used to have that they don't even really need more than a few codex compliant models. When you think about it the lore that IF died but were 'revived' is retarded, if it were possible to go back I would edit IF so that they went extinct and the sons of dorn merely carry on in their name, would make the story fresh as fuck but oh well.
>>98478310Losing access to units doesn't make you specialized. Having detachments, units, rules, and HQs that really juice your chapter's gimmick does.
>>98477551>Marine player trying to throw smoke at SalamandersDon't forget to zoom you pic out again, into the infinite IKEA of "SPACE MARINES ARE MY FAVORITE FACTION"
>>98478321>This is why the primaris kits suck tooEmbrace the Tactical Squad before GW squats it
>>98478310Blood Angels became more specialised in 11th because they pay a tax on all close combat units that is only justified when using bonuses from their own detachments. If you're not doing a specific type of spam it's no longer worth playing BA at all.
>>98478139Sorry, you're a marine playerYou're not allowed to have legitimate concerns about your army because... uhhh... GW took a long time to make plastic Aspect Warriors
Anybody have scans of the late 10th campaign books?
>>98478360It's not that Salamanders aren't unloved. It's just a matter of perspective. Space Marines are getting new units every year that kind of count for Salamanders too. Meanwhile World Eaters got the same number of new models last edition as Salamanders, the subfaction, specifically did.
>>98478354the lgs I went to yesterday was empty at 10 AM except for the 1 employee in the back near the register. I could have easily nicked one and walked out. I didn't though but I was surprised by the absolutely 0 security, I don't think they even have a camera.
>>98478343>Having detachments, units, rules, and HQs that really juice your chapter's gimmick does.Thank youPeople always post shit like "just kitbash your guys into the Digeridoo craftworld that has the special Toilet Cleaner Aspect" but seem to not grasp there are no rules to actually run that aspect or craftworld's strategies and counts as is a poor approximation. This is why it's better when GW puts out rules and detachments and the sheer amount of seethe this causes is counterintuitive.
Played a game of 11th and it fucking sucked. Should I play another game or just stick with painting the models?

Is building a Khorne Daemons army a bad idea in the current edition? I have about 1000pts of them and I wonder if I should spend more money on bringing them up to 2000pts or let them retire for a bit and focus on a "real" army like Tau or CSM instead. I have Skulltaker, a Bloodmaster, a Daemon Prince, 20 Bloodletters, 3 Bloodcrushers, 10 Flesh Hounds and a Skull Cannon. With Bloodletters having a cap of 10 minis per unit and no transport options I'm worried that none of them will see any action before being gunned like bitches. Am I underestimating the Shadow of Chaos? Should I focus on upping the Bloodcrusher unit to 6 and both Flesh Hound units to 10 each instead, in hope that their speed will do the trick? Are Karanak and Skullmaster even worth taking? And what about Bloodthirsters?

Apparently the D6 is mathematically inferior some how but in what way does a D6 "suck"? Or why would a D10 be better? Basically, some would say that warhammer being D6 based actually makes it suck somehow.

>>98478521>why does this regular ass tyranid have the same toughness as a regular ass human man? This is not one of the narrative issues with this system, hormagaunts and termagants are basically the size of large predatory cats.
>>98478509Granularity, like others have said. There's nothing wrong with a d6 die itself but having 1d6 roll as a resolution mechanic for hitting and resisting means there are only 5 tiers of proficiency scaling any unit can have. Something like 2d6 gives way more options with a curve favoring median results over extremes.
>>98478521TrueThe numbers are bound to repeat extremely frequently since they have no choice but to operate within like 1 or 2 increments of eachother
>>98478498They're safe at least this edition as far as army existence goes. Think all gods/detachments mixes are seeing some modicum of success so there is that.Fill up with skarbrand (or yourdude rename) and bloodthirsters for easy route. You can run more bloodcrushers too instead of big ones
>>98478514Should I have these in my list?
>>98478065Well too bad, you got Sa'kan the ubermensch who never does anything wrong and heckin wholesome chungusly corrects the Sororitas and the Ultramarines when they want to be grimdark into being noblebright heroes (and then they immediately die doing the 'right thing' lol)
>>98478388Well yes, Marines get a lot of releases. Nobody denies that. But it's hard to be a Salamanders player and get excited for the new Primaris™ Skibidfanum™ because it has 0 place in Forgefather's Seekers
>>98478526Ever since I read Day of Ascension, I've grown to like them more as the Mad Max Fury Road War Boys meets Les Miserables meets The Shadow Over Innsmouth. The idea that life under the Imperium sucks so bad, the bugs eating us all is an improvement because then at least you won't die of cancer, knowing your kids and their kids and their kid's kid's kid's kid's kids will all die of cancer before they turn 30 on an unforgiving radioactive shit-world. The mechanicus could fix the issues, but that sort of treatment for the labor isn't cost effective. In any other setting, you could say "over time things might improve!" but this is 40k, there setting that opens with the line "no it's all fucked and you're going to die horribly," so is there really any difference? Get eaten by bugs once of 10,000 more years of slow decay and utter desolation for you and all your descendants.Come on guys, let's all just get eaten by the bugs, guys. It'll be great, you guys, I swear.
>>98478533I wouldnt give large predatory cat sized alien raptors the same toughness as a moderately trained human male if the systems increments were fine enough to allow for them to be differentBut since everything operates off of huge rough 17% D6 chunks thats just kind of how it is
>>98478417Huh. So they're just like Drukhari Beastmasters. Probably both hail from the same tradition of the old Aeldari empire.
The exodite campaign in the box is actually 'unplayable' without the waystones and star steles, they're literally macguffins that you 'activate' to defeat the Ork. The waystones literally should have been on a sprue in the damn box I have no clue why the fuck they did this besides either fucking up the production and forgetting them or wanting to put even more orks in and sacrificed the space that would have gone to a terrain sprue. The Cunts.GW gets so egregious they literally recommend people buy even more Ork NPOs like the Beastboss on Squiggasaur. The thing that annoys me is the dossier is so fat and thick you can tell they bumped the price up just for this. It's like a Codex rather than a floppy book.>>98478478which is why I think this is happening sooner rather than later, the Kill Team dossier is like a not-codex.>>98478417>taming wild animals=evil

>>98478523And these guys are rugged survivalists who use their dangerous life as a ward against Slannesh's pull. It wouldn't make sense if everything was harmonious and free of strife.
>>98478567Why not? Adult male cougars have generally the same body weight as adult male humans.
>>98478579Cougars lack chitin plating and zero pain/fear instincts.
Just went and looked up what I think are the right points for 11th edition CSM and here's what I came up with. Largely to prioritize painting.Pactbound zealots – mark of khorne for everyone3x 10 chosen 3x250+20= 770 points3x dark apostles 3x65= 195 points10 possessed 240 points10 terminators 350 points1 terminator lord 85 points1 DPWF 180 points2x 20 cultists 2x90= 180 points2000 points101 dudes running into melee. The cultist might do objective stuff on the side. I wish pactbound got murder missions.
>>98478579I just wouldntYou’re welcome to disagreeBut if I have 10, 20, or 100 options of where to fine tune the toughness of every creature like HP in DnD or something, I probably wouldnt assign these raptor xenos the same toughness as a human male
>>98478557>oh no the pile of things I'm getting on top of the pile of things I already have that cater to my army isn't perfectly to my specific wants clearly I am doing just as badly as armies that have lost half their fucking range in the last couple editionsJesus fucking christ marinepigs are so unbelievably spoiled rotten.
>>98478509Midwits see other models have similar stats to marines and think the game is not granular enough to make their power fantasy real. But moving from a 10 points stats scale to a 20, 50 or 100 points one, or from a d6 to a d10 or d12 or d20 will never actually change anything, the stat creep will just move faster on newer terms. They just stick to the idea because they think granularity has a nice sophisticated ring to it, and more room for stats should mean more room to have units with unique stats in theory, right? well, it doesn't.The 2 problems in how warhammer plays are that due to the vast number of units and options gw wants available for customers to collect, there's the push to make everything more or less viable against everything, so rules are standardised and profiles try to be linear, so they can be aim to be equivalent on equivalent points; while the second issue is that there are way to many rolls happening, both because of rules creep, since more rolls means more powerful stuff, right? and also because kids feel good for rolling many dice, with the result being that the game is less swingy because randomisation reverts to the mean, this makes things feel "fair", but also more predictable, and thus boring and lame because the opponent never struggles to take out your allegedly special cool dudes, they're always taken out reliably with the expected effort, they rarely shine against the odds, and neither do underdogs have many chances to punch above their weight.Everyone who has played this game knows those moments are the more entertaining and memorable ones, and if you pay attention they only ever happened because there were few rolls involved.
>>98478570>Buying Shit Team slopYou have no one to blame but yourself.
>>98478589humans aren't tough enough in 40k to merit their own special category of toughness separate from the Gaunt genus, the only things flimsier than humans in the lore are grots and rippers. Even 'ordinary' rats are now giant, hyper-durable mutant abominations that eat people
>>984785942d6 would solve this
>>98478599I'm pretty sure he's saying he'd make the gaunts tougher, not the humans.
>>98478595Kill Team boxes even up to just 1 year ago tended to have a good bundle of teams, npos and terrain (the tomb world box, of which I have the terrain and deathwatch, are an example of this) the trend over the last year since then has been towards less terrain fewer models while maintaining the price by putting in stuff no one asked for like the Squig Riders that could have simply not been in the box at all.
>>98478522>power-armored thighsAnon, they're a t3w1 unit; that's not power armor.>>98478557NTA>has an incredibly strong list with plenty of options already with lots of thematic flavor that is also very strong in the actual game>hard to get excited for new modelsYea, that's the point. You already have lots of models to choose from. Most other factions have very little, if any, models, and very few (if any) strong options to go with their thematic flavor. For example, compare the Sisters roster to Salamanders, and then look at the detachments available to Sisters compared to Salamanders, and then look at what units have what stats and what benefits are gained from the detachments. There are exactly 33 units in the SoB roster (15 of which are characters). There are 82 units in the Salamanders roster (25 of which are characters). You have more (and better) options than most of us already, it makes sense to not get excited for new models because GW, in an ideal world, would push for parity between ALL factions, not just the poster boys and whatever rival faction they're fighting in the most recent starter box.>>98478570>fucking up the production and forgetting them or wanting to put even more orks inDepartments at GW don't communicate with each other. The people who wrote that campaign don't talk to the people who decide what goes in the box.
>>98478594>But moving from a 10 points stats scale to a 20, 50 or 100 points one, or from a d6 to a d10 or d12 or d20 will never actually change anything, the stat creep will just move faster on newer terms.Yes, thank you, I'm glad someone around here understands basic math. Now that basic marines are moving to T5, so will Tyranid Warriors and Necron Warriors eventually, basically everything that was intended to be exactly as tough as a marine. Wouldn't surprise me if in 12th edition we see Ork boyz move up to T5 as well.
>>98478609Armored Power-Thighs, then!
>>98478611thats not really to do with understanding math its more to do with understanding GW
>>98478601No, it wouldn't.You can turn any D6 into an effective D12 with one reroll one sixth of the times, and any table from a linear one to a gaussian one, and vice versa you can use 2D6 still end up with the same issues as before because the stats will slowly get adjusted in the name of "balance" and rules creep so that the results of the 2D6 roll are effectively linear. The only thing that using 2D6 achieves, is forcing you to roll only 2 dice at a time any time, or forcing you to use a dedicated rolling mat, or forcing you to buy multiple pairs of differently colored dice, all slowing things down or bogging down the board further.
>>98478583The other anon is arguing (presumably) that baseline humans should have a higher toughness score on a more granular die scale than the common Tyranid bioforms, for some reason, despite being extremely similar in size and as you say the Tyranid has better natural defenses.>>98478589Maybe I'm misunderstanding the above, though, please correct me if so. There is some abstraction to consider beyond just the toughness scale in that GW seems to interchangeably use natural armor or significant differences in body structure as justification for differences in both Toughness score AND armor saves. IE we generally assume a naked human would have an Armor Save of nil (or 7+), while a naked Tyranid will always have whatever Armor Save the chitin on its body affords it.
>>98478611Orks have been T5 for a while now
>>98478523Exodites are based on 1st edition wood elves. Anyway the wood elves themselves are split into 4 broad factions>avelorniansLiving in a living forest but technically high elves>EonirLiving in Laurelorn/the empire, the second largest old world wood elf nation>AsraiLiving in Athel Loren, the largest living forest akin to a portal to the other world, trees liek Drycha actively rejected the elves and sought to kill them (this is why they are split in age of sigmar)>other wood elvesSmall realms too tiny to name or otherwise wiped out over the long centuries, outposts like Prince Oreon's realm in the southlands connected to the other wood elves by magic treeways. The exodites are superficially similar, but deviate in the sense that the Maiden Worlds are not something created by Isha as a refuge but planets the Eldar Empire actively terraformed and are now Free Real Estate in the eastern fringe. The Dragons themselves are also artificially seeded by the exodites, a monoculture. In a sense the Exodites are more similar to people who set up a homestead if a rewilded and reforested area where the animals are a select few species, than a truly Wild experience like Catachan deathworlders.

But the webway portal was discontinued a year ago by GW- you CAN'T buy one. You can buy all the ork stuff like the squiggasaur and boss tower though. BUY THE ORK STUFF.

No more "Cadian Heavy Weapons Squad" and "Krieg Heavy Weapons Squad," you just get "Heavy Weapons Squad" and what is legal in that HWS is down to your detachment for some thematic flavoring. That would require GW to actually balance guard though instead of what we currently have.A standardization of SOME components of models between guard regiments would also greatly help and allow for cheaper manufacturing that still allows for the unique units. This would involve redesigning a lot and losing a few bits of unique flavor though (ie SL and Valhallans sharing torsos; not saying I prefer it, but it's something I can see GW doing). If I had to guess, it's probably just that nobody at GW believes people would be very interested in separating mortal units of Chaos into their own faction. Which is a shame, since the mortal models and lore are genuinely more interesting to look at and to read about than the CSM in most cases.
>>98479037Shining Spears already have a lord named Drastana in the lore. Really they just need characters able to lead their other bike unit though since it's a major theme for Eldar with its own detachments and such.

>>98479254The action was the only thing I found to be novel of it, and there was a fair few of it. I disliked its "attempts" of world building and the political mapping in it. Its one of those series where if you like the setting then you probably could get a kick out of it. but its absolutely not a collection that you would read if you're not cultishly engrossed in the setting. So standard bl slop really.
>>98479262depends on what your idea of “proper book writing quality” is, but its pretty passable as long as you stick to pre-5th edition books. there are plenty of moments I was engrossed in, and I never saw a writing decision that actively pissed me off to read.
>>98479262It depends heavily on the book. Some are legit kino. Storm of Iron is still god tier as far as bolter porn goes, and basically codified the Iron Warriors as a whole. The whole Uriel Ventris series does a lot of groundwork for the modern depiction of marines in general, both traitor and loyalist. Eisenhorn is popular for good reason even if it's got some silly nonsense in it. Ravenor, likewise. Gaunt's Ghosts aged poorly even if it handles war drama well; Gaunt himself is very Mary Sueish and hard to like, you really just read it for the Ghosts themselves. There are much better Guard novels than Gaunt's Ghosts out there, like Deathworlder. Commissar Cain is fantastically fun as a humorous spin on the setting, but very cookie-cutter from one book to the next, if you've read one Cain book you've read them all. Warhammer Crime novels tend to be surprisingly fun despite what you may expect, definitely recommend looking at a few of them because they prove the setting can be good fun even without massive wars. If you want to dip into the HH novels, Know No Fear and Scars are both largely standalone masterpieces you can pick up and enjoy without needing to read any of the other slop in the series. Horus Rising is good, Mechanicum is good, Saturnine is good, much of the rest has way more mixed opinions overall.
>>98478488I'm happy that you're doing better. Post your models once you've primed them curious what you're working on

>>98479262In addition to the Imperium books that are considered worth a read, there's also a fair few xenos-centric novels that are pretty solid. The Path of the Dark Eldar trilogy, Cult of the Spiral Dawn and Day of Ascension (GSC), Valedor (Craftworlders), The Twice-Dead King and the Infinite and the Divine (Crons), and Elemental Council and Broken Sword (Tau). >>98479845Altansar was trapped in the gravity well of the Eye of Terror after the Fall of the Eldar, and 500 years after that they were dragged in. For nearly 10k years, they've been barely holding together against a near-perpetual siege by Chaos, a time of which they still refuse to speak to outsiders. During the Fall of Cadia, the Phoenix Lord of the Dark Reapers, Maugan Ra, walked into the Warp to find Altansar, since it was his homeworld. His footsteps burned with blazing white fire that the Warp could not destroy, and it was this path he blazed while fighting off the legions of Chaos single-handedly that Altansar was able to follow out of the Eye. Now that they're free, they're some of the most radically anti-Chaos of all Craftworlders, even more so than Ulthwe. However, even now that they've escaped, they're extremely reclusive, little is known of their secretive culture, and they refuse to show their faces to outsiders, which has led to some other Craftworlds suspecting the Altansarians have horrible scars and mutations from their battles in the Eye. The lore suggests another possibility, that hiding their appearance may be not due to taint from Chaos but some kind of tradition of shame and fear. Most accept that if Maugan Ra vouches for them, and they're still fighting Chaos rather than helping it, they're (probably) okay.

>>98480063They tried new things. Many communities love the exact same thing so much that anything different is scorned. Halo players hate it when weapons besides precisions are meta. Tekken players hate it when characters aren't single buttons auto combos with only offensive options being meta. For Honor players hate it when characters don't play just like the others. Variety is the bane of their existence. This is why whenever Ubisoft tries new characters with different mechanics like the Benkei clone who gathers power through dealing specific hits leading to an instant kill attack, they were mad. The Chinese characters included some mechanics easy to adapt to but they hate it when they can't follow a flowchart. It's just like when Ken players can't.

The chinks are actually the most middling characters in term of performance, none of them are completely garbage or OP cunts. People shit on them because real china = bad so any chinese in any media ever = bad but from a purely gameplay perspective they are probably the best designed faction because of that. Tiandi was garbage against anyone with good reactions and Jiang Jun got a zone attack out of heavy parry, at least that's how it was at launch. Also extremely GB vulnerable and doesn't offer great offense or big punishes although it can escape some specific mixups that don't involve feint to GB.

>>98480063I am far from the toppest-tier player here but there's kind of two "tracks" here that have been moving balance.Firstly, before the removal of option selects, characters were much more difficult to kill and much more capable of anti-ganking. As a result, the meta revolved around heroes that could gank effectively, confirming lots of damage while giving the opponent very little opportunity to do anything about it. Basically, the meta revolved around getting AROUND the ability to option select. Heroes like Shaman, Gladiator, or Centurion were basically required as roaming gankers. After the removal of OSs, all of those heroes fell out of the meta. Now that going for parries is far less safe, the game's all about big teamfighters. Anyone with a giant orange attack is a very good pick in Dominion right now, as you're far less likely to eat a parry now that nobody can safely option-select your attacks. So, in general, heroes that teamfight well all got a boost. The kings of the current game are indisputably Jiang Jun and Raider.Secondly, Ubisoft's been pushing out character reworks at a significantly increased pace compared to what they did pre-Marching Fire, and the reworks tend to be really strong. Generally I'd say this is a good thing, but you do see a trend where the heroes with older movesets that haven't been touched in a while tend to be weaker. Shaolin, Nuxia, Jormungandr and Conqueror all fall into this category (although it's worth noting that this game relies enough on fundamentals that even bottom-tier characters like those can still do work; one of the players on a top team recently styled on people in the dom series qualifiers with Nuxia). Conqueror's next up for a rework, so that's good news. It's worth noting that, outside of like competitive scrims, MOST of this stuff doesn't matter that much. The tier lists in this game are pretty squishy, as matchup knowledge and game sense tend to matter far, far more than your hero's moveset

>>98480299>launch black prior>OPshitter alertif you had said warmonger with her t4 perk making her into a raidboss like launch warlord you'd have had a point
Since China is mentioned what are some good Chinese recasters that recast in hard plastic instead of resin?I need a Chinese plastic recaster so much lads.It angers me that hard plastic Lego bootlegs and related stuff for kids gets made but it is all resin recasts for warhammer.
>>98480315>plastic recastersthere are nonethere are a couple metal recasters out there but they have very limited catalogs
>>98480299Such is the case for new characters in any game. At first it's thought they're OP but that's because nobody got used to them yet. For every true broken Leeroy Smith, most just needed time to adjust.
>>98480305Very few women actually take part in warhammer for the love of the miniature painting hobby.I know what you’re hinting at so maybe the warhammer romance novels may not sell well.
>>98480312you can flip anything in the game EXCEPT a guardbreakblack prior can punish the absolute dog water out of predictable retards that don't feintbut if you're opponent sees what you're doing they can fuck you easily by feinting a top heavy and guardbreaking you. not to mention he has some decent unblockables that can be feinted. by 1800 hours you should know by now that reacting to BP bash consistently is not only very hard, but it's not punishable via GB, unless they changed it since I last played
>>98480319Who are the metal recasters? I’m sometimes thinking of selling my metal models to replace them with 3d prints because I’ve seen horror stories of stolen models.Makes me want to just use an army of stls made up of high quality scans and third party stls. It will suck if my models are stolen but then I could print a replacement.Im not sure how to get models back when they get stolen. Or if law enforcement will even bother. It would be funny if a warhammer model thief got arrested and the bodycam footage came out.I listen to bodycams to use as background noise.
>>98480330>if you go into your obvious guard stance that's unsafe on react you can flip people!wow just delete the character he's BUSTED busted
Reminder to not listen to a fag who wants>another option select into his kit in addition to zone/bullwark/bullwark UB/CC lights>ez pz one shot GB throw damage that wouldnt require any effort to land on top of his already retarded risk/reward damage output ratio>being chase buffed even more when he's a character who's literally not supposed to have a good chase on top of how retarded his looped-damage toolkit isBP quite literally had every single tool in the entire game besides any chase tools. His weakness should be that he can't chase. That was BP then.
New bread?
>>98480338BP stance to anyone who knows what they're doing is very hard to punish. by 1800 hours you should see players that don't do it blind
>>98480348You would have a point if you were talking about the duellist bitch who's ACTUALLY got a busted stance since she can easily react out of it if you try to do the moves that counter itBut you're a shitter so you don't know what you're talking about>>98480366I've got over 2k hours in the game, you're just bad sorry
>>98480299He had fucky if not glitched properties too. For some reason BP can just on reaction negate Shinobi's ranged GB while in Bulwark stance. If Shinobi is close enough BP can even get his own GB while Shinobi is in recovery.
>>98480312>Bash has almost no recovery>His Zone is a stupidly safe and strong OS>Bulwark nets too much damage (24 dmg is too high.)>Bulwark fast flow (literally 0ms.) is too effective at killing offense>Has literally no weaknesses other than "run away">Backlight OS is stupid>100% damage reduction during flip? Stupid as shit.>Unlike WL, Valk, and Conqueror's fullblock, his doesn't drain stam passively, only doing so on entry & block, despite already being stronger than all of the others.>Phalanx, but better as a T4>Bash drains stam and pauses regen>Heavy finishers have larger hitbox than the actual animation implies>Bulwark slash has larger hitbox + better tracking than animation impliesHes pretty op anon
>>98480394OP is the new character's nut kick not building revenge and being able to stunlock
>>98480338Can easily be delayed to ignore the gb punish. The gb range is super small. Actually its smaller than mostbother bashes.

how is the 40k setting dark? presume it has the same universal poverty level as the 1800's. if youre white and live in a developed country most people talking about 40k would be relatively comfortable and upper class.

>>98479332that is a single run limited edition model from years ago. Or are you going to start complaining that the cost of spiderman #1 is more than spiderman comics today?
>>98481288Hmmmmmmmmm weird how this thread has "people" defending GW pricing of shit like marshal drier. Almost like you're a gw employee or something.
How are Black Templars and/or Blood Angels shaping up for 11th? The BA players I've encountered seem meh about it? Haven't heard anything from Templar players.
>>98481348You realize individual employees don't get paid more if someone scalps a model on ebay for double you drooling retard.
