A Traditonal Elder Scrolls rpg would be nice and pretty cool
There have been attempts.[UESRPG - P&P RPG]https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pTgTN2aJUoY95JtquowagfUJLL7tCQYhzJKcCAcbvio/edit?usp=sharing[Scrollhammer - Tabletop Wargame]https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Scrollhammer_2nd_Edition[TES 5E Conversion]https://uestrpg.wixsite.com/homeCopied those from the general we used to have.
>>98495279UESRPG is pretty cool, I've ran a bunch of sessions using it. We even used to have a pretty lively and comfy general some years back
>>98495279Honestly WFRP 4e is probably the best system I can think of to play TES in; it's only missing playable cat people but that doesn't seem that hard to do.
>>98495361Not really with how limited the access to magic it has. But UESRPG is crafted for TES and mechanically based on WH family of systems
>>98495279The fact that there's that gaping absence of a TTRPG is so baffling to me when it's just so obvious.
>>98495448Same with novels. It's such a rich and diverse setting and over 30 years of its existence and 15 years of being relatively well known there was only like one actual book. Really baffling that Bethesda has never commissioned more.
It's called Runequest.
>>98495314Nothing official though. UESRPG is great though, and probably honestly better than anything "official" game designers would come up with in the modern day. I would just love to have an actual official game with mini kits or something though.
>>98495279Sure. But you have to decide which TES you mean. Daggerfall is not like Morrowind, neither is like Oblivion or Skyrim. You also need to decide if you consider MMO sloppa canon. I exile it under boring and therefore wrong myself.
>>98495279What's the point of a dedicated TES system? An OSE, 5E, PF2E conversion is more than enough if you want to play in the world of TES.
>>98495279Daggerfall and Morrowind are literally based on BRP/RuneQuestbaka
>>98495279No, TES is about lone wandering avatars of Lorkhan appearing out of nowhere, stumbling about seemingly without aim until they save the world, then disappearing without trace.
>>98495448>>98495579The peoplein charge of the setting are actively doing anything they can to dumb it down as hard as possible and see no inherent value in it besides the brand name
I made my own. Only thing its missing is monsters.UESRPG and Runequest is cool as fuck but I am too retarded for such verbose systems.
>>98495408How was UESRPG's magic limited? The magic was pretty expansive, especially with being able to make custom spells.(Alchemy being based off magic schools was pretty great too.)
As someone who actually enjoys a bit of 5e now and again, the TES 5e conversion is hammered dogshit. Here's five different rogue-themed classes, but fuck you if you want to breathe water and aren't an Argonian or level 5 Mage.
>>98495279I love the elder scrolls, but if I'm being honest with myself, I wouldn't play a TTRPG version of it. Mainly because 90% of the fun in any ES mainline entry is how fun it is to break the game. The funniest shit to me was the Elder Scrolls Online. You get a crew of five together to walk your way to dungeon instance? By the time you arrive, four of the crew have gotten side tracked picking herbs, fishing, cutting wood, or other shit enroute to the dungeon. It highlights how many ES players are just so ingrained with treating the game as a single player experience.Massive props to CTG board game though. Really captured build variety playing drastically different. Had a Khajiit thief that ignored enemies, stayed hidden, and picked battlefields clean of loot, a Redguard two hander that just melted enemy health in melee and rarely got exhausted, a Nord going sword and board with Heavy Armor that was basically unkillable, and a High Elf Staff and Summon type that may or may not kill himself and the enemy at the same time with all the splash damage he had. Also won't forget getting a mud crab to join our crew for a fight. Weak as hell but tough little shit we kept pumping healing into and he aggroed the entire other side of the battle who just could not kill him. So you had a single mud crab, surrounded entirely by pretty strong enemies, just waiting on the thing, and it just stood there being a mud crab with zero fucks to give healing up like wolverine on speed, while our group just chipped away at the enemy pile. Citizen Snips even cherry tapped the last opponent. Charmed animals leave after the encounter and one of the random loot draws was food card that happened to be a mud crab dish meaning we killed and cooked him afterward, which was kind of sad though.
>>98497285You’d think if they only cared about making money off the brand name, they’d just cynically release an official 5E hack and watch it print money.
>>98495279Have you tried playing DnD? I'm pretty sure you can easily convert it into the latest DnD 5.5e version, they're practically the same thing already.
