Stupid question but ive seen acrylic paint colors emulating or even closely matching the rlm, ral, and fs colors.
I don’t generally see this for metallic paints. Was there just no metal color tone standardizing or if there was, was it not to the same focus and levels as uniform and vehicle colors etc.?
I have color tone autism for painting my miniatures that even extends to metals.

>>
>>98502040
The shade of the metal color tone is not really something you can standardize.

Metals will vary in color and shade depending on the metal itself and how it's made, all the surface detail, damage or pitting in the case of casting, chemical treatments and how they're applied, environmental effects like oxidation and even the angle you look at it from.

If you want a consistent look, you either have to plate it, treat it, or use a metallic paint... and even then it's probably not going to be 100%.

I'm looking for some rules for 28mm ship vs ship boarding action Napoleonic Naval games?
>>
>>98503647
Blood & Plunder isn't napoleonic but might be the closest you'll find.

At 28mm, even a frigate is over 60cm long, so the 28mm games that do exist tend to focus on smaller stuff.
>>
>>98503722
>60mm long
Yes I have a blue area rug in my basement and was planning on playing on the floor.
Printing out some Briggs and Cutters as we speak
https://www.3dprintterrain.de/collections/napoleonic/products/napoleonic-gunboats-ships-cutter
British sailors and Marines are easy to find because bongs own the wargaming industry, but French sailors and Marines literally do not exist so I'll have to improvise
>>
>>98503749
Pretty sure Revolutionary France just put their army aboard ship rather than having a dedicated corps of marines
>>
>>98503749
Brigade games has a very minor french sailor selection, pic related

And you could also get away with using some Perry metal Vendee french as sailors, and could make some with the Spanish Guerilla box as well
>>
>>98503770
c'est parfait
>>
>>98503749
Age of sail novels like Hornblower and Aubrey/Maturin frequently note that since sailors dress the same anywhere, it wasn't impossible to pass Frenchmen off as English and vice versa. So you could use English sailor minis and just make them distinctly french through color or something.
>>
>>98503822
British fanfic makes no attempt at historical accuracy or research? Color me surprised!
>>
>>98503875
Francophile finds yet another excuse to be triggered by the brits, quelle surprise
>>
>>98503822
>make them distinctly french through color or something
By painting the french sailors as Algerian and the bongs as Pakistanis
>>
>>98503749
This brig would be awesome for small personal naval stuff like the war of 1812 battle of lake Erie or Barbary war with one brig against some stinky Muslims

NTA but that's what they get for Mers-el-Kebir. Killing neutral French sailors under the pretense they might join the Axis despite the French saving their whole force at Dunkirk. Frogs never offered a single ship to Hitler before the attack, they never did then and they never did after. In fact the Frenchies saved Churchill another whole army at Bir Hakeim by pulling out a Dunkirk-bis despite UK's attack on their fleet. Time proved UK wrong on this one and as far as I'm concerned it was nothing short of an European Pearl Harbor. They deserves to be painted as backstabbing Nation as much as Japan is. Talking about honor but having their very own very retarded definition of it.
>>
>>98505527
I used to be a huge anglophile, growing up on Zulu, Sharpe, Waterloo, loving the WOTR and HYW etc. but really the more I read history the more I realize that throughout the early modern period, Britain really has been the most perfidious villain of history. They filled a very similar role during the early modern that the Israel lobby fills nowadays
>>
>>98505556
As a bong I would say the victorian era was when it all changed, the empire became a host for the parasitic yids who completely took it over
>>

The British Empire was just a giant roads and schools welfare project for Africa and India ultimately. Its responsible for why scammers from those regions have an easier time learning English. Outside of the upper class in London, the average White Brit was made worse for it, either through getting to beta test sweatshops in London, shitting themselves to death overseas fighting for the Crown or just having to pay for the entire road system of countries bigger than themselves in population and landmass. If you're not replacing native populations with your own loyal people or simply exploiting the populaces properly you basically enter a death spiral where 1 or 2 serious wars bankrupts the whole system, which is what finally happened in WW1/WW2. Jewish/Zionist elements of course were prevalent in British financial systems and had their own motives but the system was already rotted out by the time the Victorian Era came around. Last chance to fix this IMO was if King George either defeated the Revolutionaries in America or just let them be a tax haven for a short period of time until things cooled down, then invest fully in the Americas as a second Britain when the Revolutionaries were sated or grew irrelevant. Without a massive population of loyal British subjects you're going to bleed out money fighting to rule over low income farmers in India.
>>
>>98507025
>The British Empire was just a giant roads and schools welfare project for Africa and India ultimately
Imagine being so retarded you fall for imperial propaganda.
Africa and India were subjugated to extract resources and enrich the Anglo nobility, the many genocides should have made this obvious.
>>
>>98507348
>Anglo nobility
Ah yes, Baron Rothschild, the "Anglo"

>>98507025
>Muh benevolent welfare program!!!
Pure cope and propaganda. The Empire didn't colonize shithole countries out of the kindness of their heart to help out the poor brown people, it's was an entirely extractive endeavor on the behalf of the "financiers."
Colonials revolts and wars weren't being fought because the natives were mad about all the free schools. The zogbot redcoat didnt maintain colonial rule with the point of the bayonet because the British really really cared about providing infrastructure and social programs to the savages.
If it was just about roads and schools, do you ever wonder why literally all the colonials fought tooth and nail to oust the British, from the Americas, Africa, Caribbean, India, China, etc?
>>
their populations boomed, but this is why we should have genocided them, because no matter how many schools, hospitals and roads the libtard humanitarians(of which there was plenty btw if you bothered to look) of the victorian era constructed, jeets and wogs will still hate us because whitey bad
majority of colonies were also given complete self government without a fight as well
>>
>>98506808
It started before the Victorian. Napoleon is always depicted an aggressive conqueror hell bent on world domination by the British, but the irony is that Britain had been the main agitator in Europe since before Napoleon's rise. Since the beginning of the revolution it was Britain that was financing and encouraging all the wars to destabilize France, and all the European nations to invade France, and this occured until the end of the era. Interestingly, out of the seven coalition wars in the napoleonic era, six of them were Napoleon directly responding to allied hostilities or aggression, with British being the preeminent financier and agitator behind all of them. Really only Spain could be seen as Napoleon attacking another country unprovoked.

I remembered I bought a Hit the Beach set for Flames of War about two years ago but never assembled it.
Now I finally have time to build it and I wonder if I should use them for FoW or if any other system is being recommended. I'm not necessarily looking for a crazily simulationist game. I would rather play something gamey but easy to learn so I can actually bait people into playing the game with me since I have two armies.

Played a game of bolt action v2 with a friend recently. It's not my go-to historical game for the ww2 period but it's alright fir a quick beer and crisps game. Winter war, Moltti Matti scenario, my Soviets being ambushed. Sadly I couldn't do an accurate soviet army due to a lack of minis - they were originally intended to be opfor for other systems.
Anyway, the game began with my command, snipers, and a chunk of the pidors and mg gunner freezing to death which wasn't ideal.
Nonetheless we did see some success with the squad in the East overcoming the Finnish squad there and destroying them and the Maxim pinning a group of ambushers whilst the squads to the west broke towards the tank.
Unfortunately they were unable to break out of the pocket the Finnish had created and were surrounded and destroyed for relatively few casualties inflicted in return.
The Finnish sniper failed to find targets in the dark, but the field gun made up, ending a squad trying to rush it with a well placed shell and support from some infantry. The pinned Finns squad mistook movement in the dark for Russian flankers and fired on them only to hear angry fingolian noises as they landed shots near the at rifle team.
As the T-26b reversed to find a target the ATrifle team fired into it, knocking it out. And with that the battle was over. One squad escaped the ambush, otherwise it was a total Finn victory.
>>

Damn those are some fantastic figures. Extensive range of Russo-Japanese war which is rare. Great stuff, probably unobtanium in the EU but very nice to look at.
>>

>The only place I know for sure that sells them is Warlord Games
They're the first place I checked but they only sell KPA, I need South Korea but Warlord simply says to use USA infantry and call it a day.

Asking again to fish for more replies.

I never cared about the WW2 vehicles scale wars itt but since I'm officially becoming a tread-head, I have no other choice but to ask: what is the correct scale for vehicles and which brand is the way to go? Should I simply accept that 1/56 from Rubicon is the only right answer?
>>
>>98511743
That or print them yourself.
>>
>>98511743
Go either 1/285 for massed effect, 1/72 for cheaper kits, 1/56 for detail painting.

That sounds impressive. Is there any decent game that I can play with just a singe box of infantry like pic related? I don't feel like building a full army. Toying with an infantry platoon with no vehicles is enough for me.

Chain of Command is built around historical platoon layouts, so it works pretty well with Warlord boxes. Vehicles are entirely optional, and artillery is only really in the game as objectives.

I didn't find it fun, but you might.
