>I made one of my NPCs as an exact clone of my oneitis who all the players know irlNo one has found out yet
Based
Good for you. Every time I've tried to base NPC on a real woman I got called out for misogyny and promoting harmful stereotypes.
>>98505045>No one has found out yet>all the players know irlThe most likely option here is you don't know them very well and are describing them in a very inaccurate manner based on your delusions.
>>98505045This is gonna sound crazy, but—I shit you not—this looks almost exactly like my ex.
>>98505045Imagine settling for a mid in your own fantasy.
>>98505067This happens with my group too, then we all laugh about it because I don't play with brain-rotted zoomer faggots.
>>98505067Get new players. Immediately.
>>98505600>average looking woman on beachNo shit anon
>>98505072Alternatively, the players have all realized and consider it too awkward to say anything about to his face.
>>98505045its all fun until the fighter breaks the NPCs ass and you suddently cry for no reason
>>98505067Meanwhile having run a game for actual women before, they will treat other female NPCs with a casual cruelty and bitchiness that would probably get me a visit from law enforcement.
>>98506587When running for an all-female group, there are two parts that stuck in my mind:>After stealing a roc's eggs, they smashed all the other eggs to 'encourage it to have more kids next time'.>They rode their horses to death so they wouldn't have to feed and lodge them
>>98506587>>98506660>Be Me>Running a mini-campaign for my sister and her friend, both 19.>Girls stop at an inn after a day of travelling towards some ruins they're supposed to be investigating and clearing out.>Offhandedly mention a pretty Bard performing in the downstairs tavern area, because that's usually what I do with my normal group of male players.>My sister and her friend immediately ask how populsr she is and how much money she seems to be making.>I roll a dice and say she looks like she's doing pretty well tonight, getting alot of generous tips from the patrons, but ultimately this is still commoner-level stuff measured in copper and silver. >Sister and friend immediately start plotting on how to get her alone somewhere to kill her and take her stuff because they "need the travel money" (they both already have several hundred gold each, by the way). They have literally never gotten like this around male NP s they've encountered with far more money and easier opportunities to kill... or even other female NPCs that *wern't* described as pretty or getting attention.
>>98506049Too perceptive, more likely they're all just ignorant and the gm is incompetent.
>>98506660Eh, that's not that unusual as far as player behaviour goes.
>>98505045Basically half of my NPCs are based on real people. On my little RP note for an NPC I could put "talks with a lisp; high-pitched" and other similar notes, or I could just put "Mike Tyson." Way easier to remember; I just do a Mike Tyson impression when I play the character and all the little affectations come naturally. It might be a celebrity, or somebody I know IRL, or even somebody memorable from the grocery store or coffee shop or whatever. As long as I can remember what you sounded like, I can do an impression of you, and my impressions are bad enough that the players never recognize them. They know each character has a distinct voice, but my impressions are so shitty that they'd never guess *whose* voice it is. Makes creating characters with personality super easy, it's great GM tech.
>>98506837It is a female power fantasy to be able to kill anyone who gets more attention than them. This is kind of a player power-fantasy in general, but especially with female players.
>>98506347Not OP but my players don't even want to have sex in their RPGsApart from one and he always plays lesbian chars
>>98505045Are you the guy who made Lamentation of the flame princess?
>>98505659Hehe
Guys are always accused of having impossible beauty standards and wanting women to be submissive and stupid. But then if you let a guy's imagination run wild it's always the same exact scenarios. Guy goes on adventure with a cool tomboy. Guy meets a spontaneous BPD-coded girl(who unlike actual BPD girls can be fixed with a little TLC).
It's not been my experience that female players (biological, not pretend) are much different than male ones except that they are much less likely to be interested in the mechanics of their character. Not that a lot of male players don't just ignore mechanics as much as possible, but chicks seem to barely care, or if they do, will solicit help from a more experienced nerd to make sure they're building what they want to play correctly. It's just a chore to get out of the way to them.
>>98515933One thing I like about female players is they correctly see games as social gatherings. So they're more likely to bring a dish to share, help smooth over awkard moments, etc. Whereas a lot of guys just schlep in with their character sheets and don't participate beyond combats etc. Most of my friends act like total barbarians in all-male settings too so I prefer having at least one girl around. You're 100% right about game mechanics though. They're definitely getting different things out of games than male players and are usually happy to just wing it and not study the rules in depth.
>>98506660>>98506837>>98507611Mostly normal murderhobo behavior although the sister and her friend definitely sound like they're taking the opportunity to be Mean Girls.
>>98506837What were their character's alignments?
>>98515905Not beating the impossible standards allegations
>>98520860"Neutral Good" for both of them, and up until this point they had mostly been playing that.
>>98520885Did you penalize them for alignment drift?
>>98520860>>98520885Alignments are a stupid fucking mechanic and anyone who uses them deserves to have their players act like bipolar retards just on principle to spite you for it.
>>98520933How would that be spiteful? Players behaving like that would be beneficial in identifying whom to bar from one's table.
>>98520949DnDtards genuinely believe this shit:>You're only allowed to play one of 9 personalities, at least four of which don't represent any sane form of human thought and probably mean you have a legitimate mental disability. You will be punished if you actually try to roleplay anything else or make a character who isn't a cardboard cutout.Actual retardation. Alignments are a sure sign that a "roleplsying" game is instantly shit and will have nothing to do with actual roleplaying.
>>98521470Someone perpetually going on murder sprees in a town will eventually face punishment, and a character flagrantly trying to do good deeds within an evil land will draw a lot of attention. A player doesn't get to have their character do anything they please without consequences.
>>98525056Repeat it with me:You can't solve out of game problems with in-game punishments.
