What type of character do you like to play gameplay wise, this does not count for flavor btw
>>98511676It depends on the game but this is /tg/ so for DnD, I tend to prefer low strength half casting martial classes. Bonus points for using Charisma for magic. That's not to say I don't ever mix it up a little. One of my best characters was a Paladin. Warlocks are my favorite class.
>>98511676Attack damage carry. the last three characters i played were all pretty mobile characters with huge DPS and just barely enough durability to frontline and still win the DPS race. Not to absorb damage specifically, but enough to survive the fight with 1hp left. Two of those three did bring team support/healing abilities though. a lot of people say >D&D is a wargamebut for me thats somewhat more literal - a character (at least in combat) is a tool to effect a strategic outcome. usually that's a vehicle to apply a lethal ammount of damage to a target quickly, reliably and consistently. be fast enough to control the space, remove the enemy's center of gravity, and if not survive, at least trade up. other characters have been artilley/anchor types, and even the odd skill monkey, but i always come back to aggressive frontline brawling. there's just a je ne sais quoi to forcing the GM to change their entire encounter design just by rolling initiative
the winning kinddurrrr
>>98511676Flankers. Light, mobile martials.
>>98511676>FantasyBig dumb melee beatstick or some form of unarmed warrior if I can get some henshin action that's just a bonus>Modern/Sci-FiGuns, preferably something mid range, but one of my upcoming characters focuses on big heavy weapons with a shotgun and a machine gun.>AlternativeThis is sort of the "this game doesn't really have traditional combat" but the only example I have is perfect draw where I run the Prodigy Playbook and my current deck is all about sacrificing the other monsters to the ace to empower him with Resilience 1 to avoid him dying so he can run over everything, with the latest wave of cards we've been allowed to swap in retrains if any cards were under cost, and a lot of mine were so I've got a new set of retrains which give more benefits when they get sacrificed which means my deck just got a huge utility boost.
>>98511676Apologies for poor english, I am coward
>>98512225I'd love to enter her "gladebottom".
War Clerics
>>98511676Big numbers are boring. Getting hit is boring. Helping my friends do stuff better, while preventing the GM from being able to do anything? Yeah, it's gaming time
>>98511676Whatever is most likely to break the game in some way. If I'm abusing the rules, I'm playing as intended. After that, I can "play" anything, provided I understand what I'm allowed and not allowed to do within the confines of the rules. Game doesn't matter as long as I'm having fun while coming dangerously close to ruining everyone else's, so I tend to end up D/GM/Reffing a lot. If not, I gotta be real cool and not be a dick, and I'm a dick on accident a lot anyway.>probably the 'tism, but the jury is still out. i might be 'tarded. Or both.
>>98511676Playing a character who plans is stupid. Play a character the GM has to plan FOR.
>>98519398Don't lewd the cute redneck!
>>98519670holy scrub LOL
>>98522761doesn't have to plan for you.
