No. I am too socially awkward, autistic and I smell bad even after a shower, deodorant and teeth brushing and wearing clean clothes somehow.
Like every other Warhammer anything player.

Those photoshopped model graphics are getting better and better. I hope it isn't AI.
I already clicked a long music video and liked it then found out it was AI when I thought it was just the thumbnail.

What's a good source for big top knots on cataphractii like the old vision of heresy art?
>>
>>98515618
Wire + tiny beads + greenstuff.

Drill a hole, glue some wire into it. Clip the wire to whatever length you want and bend it however you want the topknot posed. Add a couple tiny beads for the wrapped section, then add some greenstuff to form the hair. Add hair texture by dragging a needle along the greenstuff.

Can anyone give me convincing arguments to keep my knights in LI/AT instead of focusing on titans? I prefer the titan aesthetics but am still fond of things like the questoris and styrix/magaera, and knights seem to miss the point of AT with managing the facings, reactor, shields. Heard they're good for objectives though? Not sure if there's any fun maniples with knights or if they're pointless.

I know knights struggle a bit in LI with only being able to kill like 1 or 2 things in base contact in combat, and being multirole hamstrings you with moving and shooting or charging, though maybe focusing on wrecker which does let you do both is a fair shout? Or again, if I should just stick to long range fire support titans for demolition at range.
>>
>>98516089
Howling Banshees have a pretty big fop of hair on their helmets? That might be the size you’re looking for but they got kind of an odd shape cause of said helmet. I suck at greenstuff myself so I understand the reticence, but I’m not sure if you’ll get the proper look otherwise. GL though, going for Visions looks is always a worthy goal

>>
>>98516089
I've done it without the beads. I don't have any pics of my work handy but it's easy as fuck. You just need a pin vise and some small diameter wire. Drill into the head, glue the wire and slap some greenstuff onto it. Sculpting the hair is easy, just use your fingers to pinch and roll the greenstuff into whatever shape topknot you want, then drag the tip of a sewing needle across it a couple times to give it texture. The wire gives the greenstuff enough structural support to make all sorts of shapes and poses.

You have to fail to improve. Sometimes failure is a god awful looking mini, and sometimes it's okay but kinda meh, or maybe its good overall but its only 80% of what you wanted it to be.

If you're worried about cost try painting smaller batches (5 dudes instead of 10 dudes). Start with your least fancy guys and work your way up. Don't rush yourself, spend as much time as you need. Try something new each time. You literally can't improve unless you try stuff you haven't tried yet.

IMO 90% of growth as a painter isn't developing fine motor control or learning new techniques, it's developing personal taste like learning what colours to pick, and developing experience like how your paint will behave when you dilute it by X amount and how much to load up on your brush in Y situation.
>>
>>98517167
Go helm or go home.

we both brought some jump units (my plasma thallax and his vet assault) and found them pretty fun to use despite the risk whenever we went full throttle.
my forge lord turned the lights on just as my flanking firebase got into position, wiping out 25 tacs from two units shooting (thallax + lerneans)

>And if/when armigers are in plastic, what then?
You need around 9 of these little fuckers. They're cheap and they do comparable damage to knights, why do you think they need to slap on restriction on these fuckers if they weren't busted?

Also I was wrong about the 60 for 3 price from GW, it's 60 for 2, you got a 3rd armiger which is the autocannon one and these motherfuckers suck.

Anyway for AT knights (with or w/o armigers) are still useful as a way to make big titans move or force them to equip with melee or anti knights weapon which make them considerably less deadly. Otherwise it'd be pretty boring having 2 big titan sitting at the corner blasting the entire game.

The Falchion is the astartes GOAT at titan hunting and is IMO as effective for engine kills as the Shadowsword. The Ascalon is cool too. Too bad they'd need to make a special flame template 3ft long to give it the flavour of the epic scale version.

My most favourite uma delicia is titans and treads sharing weapons like shadowsword. stormlord, stormblade mecharius vulcan/omaga,and various neutron laser tanks. Reminds me of Brigador, Terra Nobra Must Fall

Wrong. Its about as good as the fellblade.

Once accuracy is factored in it just doesent hit very hard. Certainly not for a tank that ONLY does this stuff.

Titan CCW tank when?
>>
>>98521407
The fellblade looks like a shitty fucking command and conquer tank due to those dumbass fucking twin cannons. The falchion works with twin cannons because they are ENERGY WEAPONS and the model establishes that these two weapons take up so much space inside the hull that there is no turret, because they can't fit inside a turret, so it's casemate.

The fellblade, meanwhile, has nonsensical interior proportions because it has two TANK CANNONS inside of a TURRET, that means it somehow fits TWO FUCKING CANNON ASSEMBLIES AND LOADING MECHANISMS INSIDE OF A TURRET WHEN IT WOULD BE MORE SPACE-EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE TO JUST PUT A SINGLE BIG GUN IN THERE. The only time it makes sense to put two or more cannons in the same turret is if it's intended to have some sort of AA function (think of the Sicaran). I mean, hell, I've seen fictional tanks that have two actual tank cannons in that configuration that are canonically nonsensical in-universe but plausible because they're two smaller sized tank cannons in an otherwise large turret (think two 76mm guns in an oversized turret and a large MBT hull, fitted to said oversized turret kind of like the AA guns on a Gepard) and designed to kill the shit out of more lightly armored targets than it rather than actually take on other equivalently-armored tanks (so in this example, the fellblade would have two...let's say vanquisher cannons that fire seperately for RoF benefit and would just kill the shit out of anything that isn't a superheavy). The glaive manages to avoid this entirely by actually just having a single gun in the turret (that's also an energy weapon).

tl;dr the fellblade's duel cannon setup looks retarded because there's no way the massive accelerator cannons should both fit in there (accounting for loading mechanisms, assemblies etc), it'd be way more efficient if it just had a single larger accelerator cannon with a coaxial autocannon instead
>>
>>98521570

Neutron Lasers can absolutely wash void shields. Even the little cute version on the Sabre that leaks hard radiation like a soviet icebreaker can quickly burst a Reaver or even Warlord's voids if they can use their small size to ambush at point blank range.

Imagine jack russell terriers making a polar bear die from ankle bloodloss.

Not really. Neutron weapons are still very experimental, in development weapon systems. Much easier to fit something like that on a tank chassis and adjust stuff as you go along, rather than trying to integrate it with a titan's more specialised systems.
Also keep in mind that titans are basically walking, gun toting religious shrines to the mechanicum. You wouldn't bolt an experimental cannon to a church either.

As do fellblade accelerators and demolisher cannons. Except those functionally cant miss a titan while neutron lasers have the same 2/3 to hit as they do against anything else.

Never? What makes you think it's coming out? It's been in development hell since 3.0 got released.
>>
>>98521628
Canonically each of the twin cannons can pen titans so no, it makes sense. A bigger gun would cut down the fire rate in less than half and overpen everything.
>>
>>98521729
They would not fit in the fucking turret. Each cannon requires seperate loading mechanisms in the turret, seperate recoil systems, seperate BREECHES, all in one turret. We've tried this shit IRL, every military that's done this has concluded "nope, this would be retarded and would compromise the tank" and just opted for bigger cannons instead. That's the reason it looks so fucking retarded, no tank would function like this.

the glaive is for deleting infantry

it removes Infantry T6 or less 3+ save or worse 5/9 (except ogryns, because ogryns are cool; and it'll struggle a little more with automata and decimators and shit because they have the ++)

it removes Infantry T6 or less 2+ save 1/11 except those with 3 or more Wounds

it is absolutely very likely to occasionally wipe whole command squads

with 12 shots at 1/9 to glance AV14 it can even triplecunt your spartan full of slow melons quite happily while it texts ur mum about another butt stuff hookup and what're you gonna do, get out and waddle?

it's the classic 2.5K obstacle, a knight-counter unit, with a turret main gun they had to keep decurions out of in case it really hurt someone's feeling several games running
>>

>>
>>98522406
I don't know, 12 shots at 5/9 with 5/6 on 5/9 of shots on top of that vs what, the same 5/9 on a single-shot 5" blast and no secondary? you can gamble on deleting a melon ball a turn with the AE but that's still only 5/18 with a 4++ and the 3" blast just isn't going to hit that many guys

fellblades are for fucking heavy tanks and small titans and nothing in between, you're still better off with the volkite vs almost any knight

>>
>>98522506
>you're still better off with the volkite vs almost any knight
No you are not.

The glaive has a S8 cardanelle with 12 shots. 8 hits vs a knight, knights are AV13 (outside the little guys). Glancing on 5s penning on 6s.

So thats an average of 12*2/3*1/6*2/3*2 + 12*2/3*1/6*2/3*1/3~ HP done to a knight. Or around 2. And maybe a status in there somewhere. The glaive does not do anything worthwhile to vehicles, it will struggle to kill a rhino.

12*2/3*1/3*2 = 5.13. Meaning that if the rhino smokes you will on average fail to kill it.

Meanwhile: the fellblade
It functionally cant miss (blast weapon).
S12 so 2s to pen.

5/6*2/3*6*2 (once for the fellblade, once for the demolisher) = 6.67 HP to a knight., 8HP to a AV14 without an invuln.

Now: For infantry.

The glaive kills around 8.5 marines per shot, slightly less for vets. 12*2/3*5/6+12*2/3*5/6*5/6*1/3. The fellblades impact depends heavily on how spaced out the enemy is, but assuming perfect 2" spacing its arund 6~ hits between its weapons killing on 2s for 5 dead.
It does significantly less into 2+ save infantry. Killing around one terminator (or dealing one wound to a custodian) with negligible deflag impact because 2+ armor. The AE shell will significantly outperform it here.

So no, it is not "absolutely very likely to wipe whole command squads", because it simply bounces off 2+ armor. It is a tank made essentially solely for killing MEQ and VEQ (a thing the fellblade also does just fine) that does fuck all else. The only other thing it can do is kill big demons, automata and armigers, because theyre also 3+ save or worse (but once again: the fellblade does this job fine too).

Couple option you can use in combination:

1. Precut the transfer. You probably won't get it perfect but you can fix it with later steps.

2. Microsol & microset. Apply the transfer, position it, then use decal softener to soften the fuck out of it. Then just scrape off the bits you don't need. Make sure you've got a layer of varnish underneath the transfer so you don't damage your paint job.

3. Paint over what you don't want. If after applying the transfer its partly covering the gun, just paint over those spots.

Personally I use 1 & 2.

The problem with xenos in 30k, is that 40k refugees would prefer to use their 40k minis as they are, which dillutes the game into an alternate 40k.
Rules for Xenos in the GC/HH should be done in a distinct way, much like what FW did with Daemons of the Ruistorm.

So no classic funny clan orks, eldar and dark eldar. Absolutely no Nids, Necrons, or Tau. Even if some of these were actually around in 30k.

I've said this before but xenos in HH should only ever be great crusade themed.not just orks and eldar again. That's hard to implement though. They would have to be broad lost and damned kind of pick and mix lists where you can make your own faction of various aliens, humans etc. otherwise you'd have a bunch of xenos army lists that are shallow and boring despite comprising a stupid amount of model kits

Imo it would only work in Ligma because it could be done without an unreasonable amount of kits because each box has several different units enough to encompass them. 1 box each for races like Hrud, Laer, Megarachnids, nipple rats of Shasta Prime etc.a box for techobarbarians and xenos loving humans and some vehicles.

It's feasible if Ligma got a little more resources but I don't see how that could be done in HH without it swamping the entire setting.

yeah I agree with this 100%

>So no classic funny clan orks

Yeah, I agree with this, but this mostly comes down to not using 40k clan color schemes and kitbashing regular ork kits to look a bit scarier. Certain modern ork units would need some form of replacement - the fluff implies that ork walkers were inspired by Imperial counterparts, so I can definitely see ork dreadnoughts (the ork warlord who nearly killed the Emperor was basically a gigantic cyborg ork walker with six arms), maybe even killa kans, but no gorkanauts or morkanauts. And they'd be limited in numbers, since Dread Mobs are a later invention. Same goes for Flash Gitz, Tankbustas, Lootaz, Speed Freaks (though ork bikes, warbuggies/wartrakks, trukks and battlewagons would certainly exist). I also really doubt that Beast Snaggas would be a thing since those seem to be a manifestation of Snakebitez culture (though they can come from any clan, like speed freakz or lootas), but Squiggoths might make sense to exist. Might be best to kitbash fantasy orc kits with ork kits to really make them work.

>eldar
By the time of the Heresy, the Phoenix Lords had already standardized much of the craftworlders' military structure, I really wouldn't expect them to fight all that much differently than their 40k incarnation aside from maybe using less wraith constructs. We've got Heresy novels where aspect warriors, guardians etc show up, though. Maybe there would be more corsairs and exodites in their army.

>and dark eldar.
Dark Eldar absolutely were conducting raids during the Great Crusade/HH era, but they wouldn't really be super recognizable compared to their M41 counterparts because Vect wasn't in control of society yet and hadn't restructured it, so this is where you'd probably see the most uniqueness. Little to no haemonculi shit, no mandrakes, no wyches, just proto-kabalites running around with splinter weapons and dark lances killing, torturing and abducting people, maybe with some more unique era-specific stuff included with them, like proto-incubi and maybe more fantasy druchii-inspired stuff, like Khainite cults that predate Vect's Dark Muses, dark eldar who ride exodite dragons ala cold one riders, etc. One thing you'd definitely see are Dark Eldar using psychic powers - using psychic powers wasn't banned amongst the Dark Eldar until Vect. Hell, these could be outright fucking Chaos Eldar trying to worship Slaanesh, with a note that these guys were wiped out for causing too many daemonic incursions in Commorragh when Vect rose to power in later millennia. Chaos Eldar is also an oldhammer concept, which HH likes to tap into a lot, I can definitely see Chaos-worshipping proto-drukhari assisting the Word Bearers, for instance.

>Absolutely no Nids, Necrons, or Tau. Even if some of these were actually around in 30k.

Agreed, 100%

>Yes to scary orks, eldar corsairs, exodites, and whatever exotic stuff can be kitbashed from GW kits.

Basically what I already said. Forgot to mention chaos worshipping orks, that sounds thematic for the Heresy. Could even have them carry Eye of Horus banners and be not-uruk-hai, with the narrative excuse that they're trying to imitate Horus's legions because of the desolation they've inflicted, which inspires the orks.

Would it be too jarring to have more clean battletech hopeful sci fi buildings like pic related in a table that's meant to be the Capital of an Ultramar world about to be flattened by the shadow crusade?

I mean not exactly like pic related but a lot more prefab. Sort of like a super upmarket soviet closed city for like nuclear bomb engineers where it's still commie blocks but with aesthetic elements like tree lined streets and the beautiful Plaza of Unity. Yeah, I don't see why not. Ultramar is supposed to be a cleaner, higher-functioning section of the Imperium - the only thing is that it architecturally has a bit more of a romanesque influence.
