The big complaint seems to be the dice pool system is just an all around terrible one, the content is slim, and it's too expensive for what you get. Considering it is going up against Call of Cthulhu in terms of setting, tone, and feel, to release a half baked product was ill advised at best. Pretty on brand for FFG though.

I'd assume that the people who play Arkham Horror and the people who play CoC form a Venn Diagram that is more or less a circle. If they wanted to make more money on the IP, they could have made branded adventures for CoC (which people will buy and they could do for free with the ORC licensing) but instead they made a waste of space game that no one plays.
