>be Felinid Lt. Tom, aka "Big Daddy", leader of "Tom's Roughneck's"
>the Felinid Winter Guard has been redeployed to Pacifica Prime
>the Irony of an arctic warfare regiment being sent to a tropical ocean world is NOT lost on any of us
>but it is probably best world we have been sent to so far...
>Throne, one could mistake this place for a paradise world
>that said we have been here seven days so far, with little to show of it
>on day one we landed in Port Mosely and unpacked our gear, including our new jungle fighting equipment
>as we unpack, we notice we are not the only Guard regiment here deployed on Pacifica Prime
>this time there are Catachan, Mordian, and Cadian Imperial Guard regiments present as well
>only after unloading our troopers and equipment, do we have our official briefing
>as it turns out this world has been invaded by BOTH orks and heretics
>after our briefing we had a surprise instore for us
>someone up the chain of command decided to merge a few PDF battalions into the regiment
>as it turns out, these PDF troopers were drawn from the local Felinid population
>they stand out from the rest of us by having an 'olive' skin tone and blonde hair with black marks on their ears and tails
>from there we rode out from Port Mosely to the front lines west of the city
>the section of the front line we are assigned is right on the southern coast
>upon reaching the front lines we take up the positions left by a badly depleted PDF regiment
>these defensive positions are mostly trenches supported by palm tree logs
>after we get settled in Lord Commissar Kate had some of the scouts from the Felinid PDF assigned to my Platoon
>this allows me to fill out 3rd and 4th Squad again, bring my "Roughneck's" back to full strength
>the following week is oddly calm
>too calm

>this brings me back to the present, this morning to be exact
>Lil' Tom has just woken me up, saying Commissar Kate wants to see me
>so I get up, get my recaf and my morning carb-bar
>I then make for the Lord Commissar's command tent set up behind the Stormsword
>Lord Commissar Kate gives me the rundown on my recon platoon's orders
>Command wants an Observation Post set up on one of the tall hills a few clicks west of here...
>its Hill 414, it should give us a good view of the area and of the sea to the south of here
>from there we are to send vox reports on green skin activity
>the mission is simple, but risky given we will be somewhat behind enemy lines
>these are the sort of mission "Tom's Roughnecks" live for after all
>I then gather my platoon together at the supply dump
>Tiny Tam included this time as the Inquisitorial psyker she is with has permitted her to go on this mission with us
>not wanting her to push herself, I hand her one of the Recon Las-Carbines and a few Frag Grenades
>Lil' Tom gets the vox unit
>I give Sgt. McPurr the honor of carrying the Magnoculars
>and they are not any standard set either
>they are the big sort that kind of resemble bunny ears and need to be mounted on a tripod
>last of all I order everyone to take extra canteens of water given the heat and humidity
>once we are all kitted up we make our way west, leaving the "relative" safety of our lines behind us
>after crossing a stream we come upon one of the plantations the world is known for
>Tiny Tam asks what sort of trees they are and WHY they have weird pods growing them
>I tell Tam that they are Cocoa Trees and that the pods are used to make chocolate
>I give her the basic run down on how chocolate is made
>At least what I remember from Nana's anyway
>after the plantation, its just jungle...
>from here the local Felinids take lead
>slashing and cutting a path forward to Hill 414...

>Morgana elected to stay behind with Lord Commissar Kate

anne's base is the island above st solomon
but the poppycane grows on all the islands up and around the sea forts since they are considered too small to be used for the mass farming of other crops
the farms vary in size and production of the various drugs happens at the main island base of Sartos
several small islands make roughly the same crop as if it was one of the larger islands without the risk of being obviously seen
