Thread #001 Augmented EditionWelcome to /spys/ where you can rp your MTA character! For all questions concerning the World of Darkness, please consult the WoDg and CoDg thread>>98521608Brief rules>Threads are M20 based, although the night is long and full of whispers, lies, and half-truths. Decide your own canon but all will not believe you>all OOC discussion should be spoilered>this thread is intended for Mage the Ascension characters>this C-Sector can be accessed through mundane means or via the Digital Web>Spy's Demise is neutral groundTHREAD QUESTION>How have you altered yourself? Surely if you're a self-respecting Awakened, then you've changed yourself in some shape or form, to differentiate yourself from the Sleepers.
>>98526070>TQWell, more like I was altered for the purposes of ritual. Feminized (yeah…) as part of a ritual my Verbena siblings did. In fact, are there any masters of Life in this corner of the Digital Web? I got separated from my cabal due to a mishap and I really want to go back to normal
>>98526070>Altering yourselfImagine turning yourself into a mockery of creation's perfection just so you can be a more optimal heretic. All the skilled colleague's I've had have preserved their own divine image, as should all. Personally, I would never. Redemption is at a premium and I'm afraid we're collectively out of collateral.
>>98526167Sibling, the Wyck worked wonders on this world and changing your shape is a perfectly fine way to attune yourself to the pulse of the world. All you need to worry is to ensure your changing form is in tune with your true self and make sure you can change back (which is where I’m currently struggling with)
Technocracy slave waifu in basement, what do?
>>98526215I dunno, convince them of the error of their ways?
>>98526070I don't alter myself, but I do alter my mech suit and do some maintenance from time to time.I'm also looking for Tradition inventions that I could reverse engineer. Heard there was a silly fae cap, like the one guy in Nintendo games wear, that allows you to breath in space and not even needing to drink and eat to survive! It can even bypass umbral acclimation and prevent you turning into a an extra-dimensional being! If I could get my hands on that, it could drastically extend our missions off-world.
>>98526186God gave me this flesh and I will die in this flesh, but thank you for your advice friend. Perhaps you should meditate, however hard it might be currently, on the steps that led you towards the altered form.>>98526215Why convert her to Christendom of course!>>98526272Space isn't real, don't be silly.
>be Virtual Adept>talking with my Hermetic and Chorister bros during some downtime>the conversation veers into numerology and how it can be used for divination purposes>after they talk about their particular methods I mention I use crypto currency value flux as my focus for my divinations>they glare at me and walk away leaving me alone at the tableWTF? What did I say wrong?
>>98526298Oh, I’m meditating. I need that to contact spirits and hope at least one of them knows where did my cabal went. Damn it, why I had to be the only one willing to use any form of technology?>>98526322Using money (even fictional one) as your focus is a dark path, anon. Technocratic businesspeople are the evilest of them for a reason
>>98526298>Space isn't real, don't be sillyI know that many sleepers still believe in a flat Earth... but that's a new lowSpace is very real, I was born in a space station. Two weeks ago I was studying for my exams in zero gravity listening to lofi music.
>>98526070>TQYeah, had to replace my left arm after a partcularly messy job. I considered getting an arm transplant but I figured that a mechanical arm will offer more utility. A thick layer of durable synth-skin and nobody can tell what that thing is capable of. Being subtle is our business after all.
>>98526094Is your virality organ in good health or as result of the ritual it was enfeebled? If the former, I don't see reason to change things as the instrument of virality is intact and thus your masculine being is in balance, any further alteration might cause imbalance and thus should be avoided unless you already suffering from imbalance.
>>98526322I don't trust machines, so I can't say for sure, but crypto currency is just another side of the banking coin.>>98526356That may be a discussion for another day with your cabal over using archaic communications in the modern age. I get it, but may as well use what we have.>>98526362If space and the "vacuum" were actually real how come we aren't having lessons on the moon? It just doesn't make any sense. It must be a painting of some sort on the dome.
>>98526506My home can afford a few thousand people living on it, including guests from other stations or from Earth. On Earth there's like billions of people. You do the math to see what odds you have to get on board one of our shuttles.I've flew over the moon a few times but never got permission to land in one of its bases. I'm honestly curious what people find interesting in it. It's just a lifeless rock.
>>98526454Well, other than heavily missing my old self, everything works normally. It was supposed to be temporary, but that night got very chaotic and a lot of vulgar magic was used, so who knows>>98526506Well, our separation was unplanned. But it’s still frustrating that the others didn’t had a single contingency plan for that
Is it weird the Hermetic Deacon of our Chantry has a pet female Tzimisce around. I am not accusing him of anything I even went and asked other mages in the Chantry to see if anything had changed with him but they got nothing. I just wonder should I be worried about anything. Like if any other vampires might start targeting us or appear. The relationship itself between the Deacon and the vampire is oddly romantic if it is the right word. They act like a married couple. Which would be fine if the woman he loves wasn’t a vampire. So should I be concerned or kind of accept as the deacon having bad taste in women.
>>98526559I pressume the fascination comes from the bioenergies that can be harvested from the celestial tissue of the Moon. Though, it is debatable how wise is it to harvest from a dead divinity. >>98526600In that case, I recommend patience to see if your spirit will bend the form into proper shape, after all. If your current state pesist, despite your longing, you should visit me, I'm currently in Earthly Reality, Prague.
BTW I’m grounded. Forced to stay on Earth with other teens my age and attend Earth school with the other sleepers due to insubordination. And I’m BORED out of my mind here! I’m forbidden to go into my mech suit. Sports aren’t in low or high gravity, they’re freaking lame. Classes are stupid easy, or full of shit. There’s no holodeck, food at the cafeteria can’t match the most basic bitch replicator, also most other students are complete morons. Like why do I have to care about Stacy dating a football player and why should it ever affect my social status? I used to fight aliens in space to protect the world! Earth freaking sucks. Anyone have any idea what fun a teen with a curfew and military instructors as “parents” can have?>>98526738Divinity? I thought people on Earth mostly worship a bearded guy in the sky. Or money.
>>98526738Thanks, great one. Prague’s very far from my current location but I’ll keep your advice in mind>>98526868Show respect. This world gave birth to your ancestors and even your silicon-and-numbers addicted masters care about its well being
>>98526868>sleepersNo shit you're grounded, you're using superstitionist lingo. Kids these days, no respect for hierarchy.
>>98526939God you sound just like dad. If the world is so important, I should be out there fighting aliens in my suit instead of sitting on useless classes like Philosophy, or maths and sciences I’ve already learned years ago. Our troops are already stretched thin as it is>>98527017And now it’s mom. Fiiiiiiine. The “masses” and “un-enlightened”. Can’t catch a break even in online forums.
>>98527111But do you know why the world is important? Do you actually care or you just see it as an excuse to blow up stuff in the Deep Umbra?Granted, your technocrat “caretakers” (as much as they’re capable of caring) probably only gave you the sterile version of this. So let me give you an advice: go out, break the script. Explore whatever town you’re currently in and, especially, the woods around it (if you’re fortunate enough to have them near). Feel the world and what’s life like outside the overly scrubbed parts the techies maintain
>>98527111I'm guessing you never ran into a Man in White before? I'd be very careful of what you say, especially with in a place populated by deviants of all sorts. I'm not in the business of reporting others to the Ivory Tower over minor bullshit, I leave that to the bureaucrats. You better learn to enjoy your stay here, this is what all the normal people have to deal with. Remember that things could always be worse, for example, you could have been born in Sleepytown.
>>98527219Of course I know why it's important! Terra is the cradle of mankind! The first bastion when we set out for the stars above and our last fortress if we are ever pushed back by the entites from beyond. It's so basic that anyone knows that! Do you even have to ask what love is to someone? it's so obvious.Besides, we have trees and orchards on the space station. I can even simulate forests with the holodeck. What's so good about about walking in the woods on Earth anyway. It's not like there's anything special to it...>>98527767Well our instructors do usually receive the visit of officials biweekly. Same for dad too when I was still up there. We were told never to bother them. I'd usually ignore that, but mom was way too serious when she told me that. Sent a chill down my spine.I guess I'll enjoy school and its lameness or whatever. If that's all you adults care about. Even more than alien threats apparently. And I guess that sleepytown is just code for boring-ville, central station of nothing happening? If it's the case then I'm already there dude
>>98527928Not him, but you probably should stay out of the woods. There's plenty of dangerous things here on earth too.
>>98527928>starship troopers-esque propaganda I admire your dedication, mate, but loving a military poster version of the World is not the same as loving the real thing. You love the (heavily biased, I should add) portrait while sneering at the real lady>thinks the holographic trees and the sterile technocracy approved trees are the same as the actual onesPlease, do yourself a favor. Go on a camping trip somewhere with actual forests. No electronics, just survival gear. Experience what nature is actually like and you’ll realize there’s much more to care aboutOh, my hollow ones hosts are saying you need to explore the city clubs and the underworld. I can’t say much there, though, because I’m better acquainted with the untamed wilds>>98527986C’mon, I’m not asking him to go out naked and speak with the wolves. That’s too advanced for him currently
>>98527928>Sent a chill down my spine.Yeah, people who represent Control tend to do that. Also, don't take advice from deviants, especially when they're trying to lure you away from your construct. You better contact your local Watchers and ask them for a threat assessment of the local area, you don't want to run into a pack of rabid fleabags. They're not the easiest target, trust me.> And I guess that sleepytown is just code for boring-ville, central station of nothing happening?I'm afraid I can't give you a peoper explanation since it's a matter related to a different convention. Why is there an isolated town along a highway that leads to nowhere?
>>98527986I guess there are. Nothing much worse that what's coming from outside the asteroid belt I bet. Anyway I'm stationed in a boring nowhere city. Ain't nothing bigger than a skunk or a raccoon in the forest.>>98528225>I admire your dedication, mate, but loving a military poster version of the World is not the same as loving the real thing. You love the (heavily biased, I should add) portrait while sneering at the real ladyWhat's the issue? Up there I'm doing important stuff, while here I'm wasting my time with things that don't even matter. Just because I refused to follow orders a few times. I won those battles! I prevented casualties! Just because I expose myself to more danger shouldn't be a reason to ground me.Plus in space there's so much cool and advanced stuff. Here it's all mundane and boring.>Please, do yourself a favor. Go on a camping trip somewhere with actual forests. No electronics, just survival gear. Experience what nature is actually like and you’ll realize there’s much more to care aboutCan't go out without the instructors' permission. And they'll never give it. Best I can hope for is them taking us on a survival camp in the woods. Also it's *her*
>>98528318>Yeah, people who represent Control tend to do that. They're that bad? All I know is that dad said that our colony enjoys freedoms that most organisations we work for cannot even dare to ask. But also to always be careful because those freedoms can always be taken away. Like studying the "deviants" and their "magic". Dad accepts that magic exists and it's pretty much the same as our enlightened science, except that we can make a process to make it available to the masses, while also cost and time efficient. That's why our way is the best, but we have to be responsible about it.I personally leave the inventing and tech gizmos to R&D. I'll just fight aliens... though I made the request for the fae cap if anyone ever gets their hands on one. Part of the "freedom" I enjoy. Dad told me not to bet on it arriving anytime soon.>Also, don't take advice from deviants, especially when they're trying to lure you away from your construct. You better contact your local Watchers and ask them for a threat assessment of the local area, you don't want to run into a pack of rabid fleabags. They're not the easiest target, trust me.I'm basically a soldier in rank. Ever if my role is way more important. I don't have the authority to ask, nor do I know where to look for those answers myself. Also what's the fleabags?>I'm afraid I can't give you a peoper explanation since it's a matter related to a different convention. Why is there an isolated town along a highway that leads to nowhere?I don't know. Could be a military town to test new weaponry? Like they did decades ago for nukes?
>>98528325>it’s “her”Oh, sorry sister. I swear, someone put a curse on me to always get the genders wrong when I use gendered language >”what’s the issue, up there I’m doing important stuff”The “why” matters. I can sense you love fighting umbrood but the vision of the world the Technocracy offers is bland and soulless. You’d find much more strength in your spirit if you could feel what the world really is. The flow of Life, Gaia’s pulse, the potential the Wyck have left us. If you can expand your mind you’ll see this is a better future than infinity New Yorks that your current wards offer>best I can hope for is a survival campBetter than nothing, just try sneaking out and feel the nature alone. Even a few minutes will give more insight than whatever manuals of biology you currently have>>98528318>threat assessmentFuck’s sake, can’t you techies do anything without a spreadsheet to say if it’s a good or a bad idea?
>>98528440>They're that bad? They're a union-wide version of internal affairs, making sure everyone is following the rules. They have the power to do a lot of things and they're well-versed in Mind procedures. I think you can see why they'd make someone feel uneasy.>Also what's the fleabags?Lycanthropes. The masses know them as "werewolves". Most steer clear of civilization and can be found in places where there's few people. Dangerous, unpredictable and hard to kill. They worship EDEs as some strange religion. >Could be a military town to test new weaponry? They're doing a lot of testing, just not weapons. It's a lot more peaceful. >>98528441I know you mystics are sloppy by default but some of us like to have details. Look at it this way, you and your palls are all bad, right? Well, some of you can be handled by an associate with a gun and others need a dedicated strike team and proper procedures.
There is a principle of nature that almost every creature knowsIt's called survival of the fittest and this is how it goesThe animal that wins has got to claw and kick and punchThe animal that doesn't winds up someone else's lunchA company's an animalThat's trying to surviveIt's struggling and fightingJust to keep itself aliveI must keep BiggeringI'm figgering on Biggering Though Biggering is triggering more biggering
Ugh, people suck. Someone stole a rare book about druidic rituals I needed from the local library. And the librarian has no idea who did it because she was busy with an old man who apparently was also stealing a book at the same time>>98528618Stop trying to make the young lady scared of the woods, garou don’t usually attack untainted humans (except for red talons, but they make obvious where they live and humans are very much not welcome)
>>98528441Well no worries. It’s not like I specifically referred to myself as a woman.>The “why” matters. I can sense you love fighting umbrood but the vision of the world the Technocracy offers is bland and soulless. You’d find much more strength in your spirit if you could feel what the world really is. The flow of Life, Gaia’s pulse, the potential the Wyck have left us. If you can expand your mind you’ll see this is a better future than infinity New Yorks that your current wards offerI guess having a good look at what I’m fighting for might be a good motivator. I might try to follow your advice if we do survival camp.>>98528618>They're a union-wide version of internal affairs, making sure everyone is following the rules. They have the power to do a lot of things and they're well-versed in Mind procedures. I think you can see why they'd make someone feel uneasy.Oh. Yeah. Never needed for guys like that up there but I understand why everyone’s anxious.>Lycanthropes. The masses know them as "werewolves". Most steer clear of civilization and can be found in places where there's few people. Dangerous, unpredictable and hard to kill. They worship EDEs as some strange religion.Wait, like in the movies and games? Sounds fun. I’d like to tango with one. Though I’m not used to pilot with Earth’s gravity.>They're doing a lot of testing, just not weapons. It's a lot more peacefulDoesn’t sound that bad. I guess.

>>98529700Nature holds a lot of wisdom, I can assure you won’t walk away empty handed from communing with it, even for a short while >wanting to fight a werewolfOh dear, I apologize from sounding like an overbearing parent, but… don’t. Garou (that’s the name werewolves use for themselves) were created for war. Their warriors can bench press your power armor and their spirit magic will put your best technology out of commission before you can fire the first shot, and on top of that they rarely are alone. Only the most skilled of the Awakened can hope to have an actual chance at beating one in a straight fight
>>98529700Merlin is right about Garou being powerful, but the ones who live near or in civilization (Yes, some DO live amongst us. unlike that black-suit said) aren't going to attack you just for going into the woods.
>>98529700>I’d like to tango with one. That I don't doubt. Planning, sympathizers and powerful procedures are your best friends. I know you VEs like your toys fancy but sometimes the subtle approach works just fine. No need for hardsuits when a team of educated citizens with proper equipment can get the job done. Make sure to contact Iteration X before going into battle, steelheads always were good at killing things and keeping track of what gets the job done. I always carry some silver bullets with me even when I'm not sent to some shithole in the middle of nowhere, even cities aren't always safe. Also, I wouldn't recommend going after them unless you're ordered to do so. Last thing we need is to lose a young enlightened mind. >>98530372>black-suitI really don't want to give the spooks credit but they did a great job at positioning themselves as the poster boys of our lovely union.
>>98530118What? That can't be right. I pilot some of the most advanced tech there is. How come those werewolves don't dominate the Earth if they're that strong?>>98530372Your sentence implies that they attack people, even if they won't go after me specifically for walking in the woods.>>98529841FUCK! One xeno breached into our connection!Or I'm being pranked...
>>98532233How come some citizens can pose a threat to those deviants if our hardsuits can't do the job? Even worse, apparantly they can turn them off.And anyway I myself have no way to contact anyone on Earth or above except for our instructors. Or rather, I have no contact info. And silver bullets? Like in the movies?
just came back down from my latest high and none of the other joybringers can make heads or tails of it so i was told to ask around hereone of them is a big maori motherfucker, he brought some mushies over from new zealand when he came here and has been cultivating them ever since, i've been begging for some of that shit for ages and he finally caved, looked a bunch of slimy blue alien eggs before i cut em up and dried emi didn't want to go too wild with it so i figured i would mellow that shit out by going half-and-half with some good old atlantis, anyway i laid down for a while after i dosed up and just waited for that shit to kick inanyway when i got up i was in some big fucking treewe're talking about branches bigger than highways with zero chance of falling off unless you're stupid enough to go to the edge, and naturally i was just that retarded, i just had to have a look at the ground belowgot a bit wobbly but kept myself from falling, it felt like i was looking down from mount everest or some shit, but all i could see was more tree, just loads of roots spreading out from the base of it and spreading out as far as the eye could see, think i saw some big fucking snake down there too, or maybe it was just the vertigohad a walk around for a couple of hours and got a bit hungry, so i picked some of the fruit hanging from its branches and ate them, tastiest thing that's ever been in my mouth, like mangoes made of honey or some shitanyway not longer after i got hassled by some big fucking bird the size of a house, it seemed to want something so i gave up a bag of gold caps i had in my pocket, fella calmed down a bit after he helped himself to that shitbirdy followed me for a while as i climbed a bit higher but the higher i got the less like a tree it was and the more like a mountain it got, all stony and snowy and shitmaybe i was getting too close to birdy's nest or something because he picked me up and dropped me off the edge
>>98532427fell for what felt like a couple of hours before i landed in some river flowing between the roots, almost drowned but i managed to swim to the surface and as soon as i did, i was back where i had laid downother joybringers said i just up and vanished while they weren't looking and none of them saw me come out of the trip eitherthis was about a week ago and i've been dreaming of snakes every night ever sinceanyone know what any of this means? it was almost as weird as the time i ended up on the moon after a mix of tampa and nana, but it was pretty good until the falling part, might give the maori mushies another shot
>>98532394Don't listen to deviant "advice". Most of them talk like they know anything about what our equipment is capable of after surviving an encounter with some construct black suits. Back when the Pogrom was in full swing my convention had orders to shoot these freaks on sight. You see, they can disguise themselves to look like your standard Joe Average or a wolf. That's when you want to strike since they're at their weakest. A hitman, car bomb, firing squad, you name it. But what if they do transform? Well, you equip your backup with proper weapons and hope they last long enough to get the kill. Heavy firepower, silver, hyper napalm and the aid of Devices is advised, a few HIT marks (I recommend the old Mark Vs, that chaingun is there for a reason. Or a mark IX if you get unlucky enough that some deems it necessary to deploy one) never hurt. Your convention should know a thing or two about fighting them, you're the ones who specialise in Dimensional Science. I only know the very basics, enough to spot deviants from the great beyond.
Well, I had an odd morning. I spent the night communing with the earth and the spirits that dwell in it to find leads on the thief. I was guided to a strange crime scene: an unfortunate homeless person was being taken away by an ambulance. I asked the paramedics and he was apparently poisoned with methanol and his chances of survival are low. Veil (one of the local hollow ones) was around and she used her skills with Time to visualize what happened and that’s when things get weird: the poor old person was given tainted drink by someone who stole all the change he had once he was unconscious. The visions didn’t give more than a rough outline of the culprit (a 30-ish(?) man) so we are currently looking for more leads>>98532233Please do not encourage her, I’d presume your spreadsheets would tell you this is not a worthwhile engagement to do casually >>98532280They used to, in ancient times. I don’t have enough knowledge to give a proper explanation, but from what I do know they lost a lot to infighting >>98532394Yes, thanks to their ancient pact with Luna. Pray (if you are the type who does) you never fight a garou, but this one piece of knowledge is your best edge should you find yourself stuck fighting one>>98532427I hope your ecstatic siblings had an adept of Life close by
>>98532566I'm not encouraging her, just making sure she's not going in blind in case she gets sent on a mission.
>>98532427>>98532430Oh I think I've read some files on you guys. You're psychics, am I right? Enlighted who are able to manifest and manipulate phenomenons with their brain, and using psychadelics as an activator? Sounds like an easy time, except that those drugs will fry your brain and body in the long run, and psychics' control of their phenomenons are shaky at best. Due to being high.I don't really get your dream, but dad always told me that problems are easier to solve if we divide them into smaller, easier to understand parts.>>98532516Well, that's good to know. Though I'm uncomfortable with the idea of shooting them on sight. I understand defense, or if they become a threat, but... I fight extra-dimensional beings because they're a danger to humanity. Killing something born on Earth feels like... shooting someone on my own team. Even if they're not.>Your convention should know a thing or two about fighting them, you're the ones who specialise in Dimensional Science. I only know the very basics, enough to spot deviants from the great beyond.Dad might know more about it. As well as being overseer of the space station, he's also head of R&D. Heard rumors that he once got his hands on devices from them that he's studying, but I never believed them until now. Cuz I wasn't sure werewolves existed before you guys confirmed it yesterday.>>98532566I guess they had an empire, and like all empires it bloated and imploded and they fought amongst themselves until only tribes and small societies remain. Learned that at school, thought I bet it's not totally accurate. Shame I can't mod my mech suit right now, I'd give it a silver coating.
>>98532280Look, some Werewolves might try to kill you for littering, but others are fully in support of peace with humanity(of course, that comes with the condition of living in harmony with Gaia)>>98532516don't assume the human form is when they're weakest, it's the form most of them are used to after all.
>>98526070Augmentation? I was an augmentation at birth. Me and my sister were brought into this world with no mother or father, just some ethereal experiment, the Professor wanted two perfect exemplars of masculinity & femininity. He gave us many enhancements over the human chaff
>>98526559The Moon has life, its just hidden in the Hollow. Hidden from your kind, & for a reason
>>98532766what "extra-dimensional beings" are out there? I've only seen animal spirits, elementals, ancestor spirits and emotion spirits in the near umbra. >>98533054Ethereal experiment? Like a familiar?
>>98533253>like a familiarNo, more like Frankenstien without the corpses, my sister & I were created out of the ethereal to coalesce in the caul of a philosopher stone. We were children & have grown to teens, professor said we shoukd reach adulthood & then stop aging. He wanted us immortal
>>98533351>created out of the etherealit sounds a lot like what I've heard about creating vessels for spirits to inhabit. I did not think it was possible to create a being wholesale, with an avatar and everything, is it an effect of philosopher stone?
>>98532766>Killing something born on Earth feels like... shooting someone on my own team. Many things are born on earth, not all of them good. Nephandi come from here and I don't see anyone hesitate when it comes to getting rid of them. Same applies here, these creatures are the antithesis of what we're trying to achieve.>>98532932If I don't need to unload a shitload of Prime-enchanced munitions into them then they're at their weakest. Also, only humans have things like bank accounts and social standing. Nothing but weakpoints.
>>98532932I vaguely recall our mistress saying something about garou being at their weakest in their birth form. Do you happen to know more?>>98532766Caution when picking your targets is important, young one. Garou may be hostile but they fight things far worse such as banes (vile spirits of rot and corruption) and those possessed by them. And you’d be surprised at how influential their master is over the world, some nephandi even worship it. It’s a shame how xenophobic they are, we share many enemies who threaten the very existence of our world yet we can’t work together to stop them
>>98533544>>98533629Well, there is variance depending on what age they had their first change, past life experiences, but werewolves in homid form are capable of guerilla tactics and city living, y'know? for example I once met one who was a hitman before his first change. As for them being at their weakest in birth form, I suppose the other forms are stronger than the human form, but they're for different purposes, not just combat.
>>98533923Yeah, those smart enough to hide amongst the masses have always been the trickiest. Witnesses don't make anyone's job easier and my prefered methods would lead to collateral damage. Their presence, in and of itself, is a minor issue. The fact that they try to spread their deviant influence to the masses is the real issue. NWO really needs to step up their game or get the fuck out of our way.
>>98533467We arent the first artificial life made by Mages, nor the first with an avatar. It seems many Sons of Ether, some Hermetics & Technocrats too, dabble in creating life. Me & my sister are not that notable.>>98533629Garou arent weak in any form, theyre just talking about how their regenitive powers dont work in their birth form. Not that its much of a weakness. It would call down hunters all too easy if they regenerated wounds in front of others whilst in human form. Theres a certain symmetry in live.Plus not everyone can be immortal

They send those hellish creatures on us. Many people I know died to their servants.
Forgot to use my name too! Today is so annoying!>>98533629>Caution when picking your targets is important, young one. They wouldn’t be declared as deviants if they weren’t.
>>98534046Listen, "doctor" (or T-800, whatever), your quest against "reality deviancy" would probably go better if you targeted the actual evil shit like Wyrm tainted cosmetic factories instead of going off against anything and everyone slightly weird>>98535092>>98535140>isn't she a pagan goddess?Yes, and she is real, although many debate what is her true nature. Some see her as the very embodiment of the very concept of life, others as a "mere" goddess of earth. Some (werewolves in particular) see her as the creator of everything while others disagree. The topic of gods and. powerful spirits a very long discussion, but what you need to know is that she is real and garou were created to be her sword and shield (well, mostly the former). My mistress could answer more questions since the garou and their beliefs are among her specialties, once I find her>absolutely revoltingOh, indeed, my dear. And what I'm sharing is merely what I know about. The rot runs deep and the work to heal the world is hard>we share the same enemy, but not the same visionDarling, you're young and hot blooded. This attitude can easily lead you in a dark path many don't come back from. Understand that 2 different ways of viewing the picture aren't always in conflict and that there are problems best solved with a gentle touch rather than a firm hand. Obviously do not let that lead to complacency and forget when to your proverbial sword. But rather, listen to what those outside your carefully curated world have to say and be understanding

>>98535092I'm not a Man in Black (or at least I think thats what youre calling me?)My sister & I go our own way our power is through Alchemical Philosophies but it has become clearer that this may all be a misunderstanding. The way magic happens is so interesting. Some lunatic can caper in a park & chant the name of dead gods, to do what a virtual adept can do with a mouse click, meanwhile the lunatic can snap his fingers & do what a virtual adept would consider completely impossible my any metric. The differences in ritual, processes & result are all based on preconceived notions. Yet these ideas also weigh together to chain us all in their rules.Of course then there are the petty magic practitioners who somehow weild small power without price, sometimes even power our brethren mages cannot grasp. The Professor can breath on the moon where you need an air tank. He can crush stone in his hand thanks to a tattoo some South American shaman gave him, yet you need a mech suit. You shoot aliens who you think invade this world yet claim a Cloister is backwards when he claims demons claw up from Hell. Its all such nonsense, yet I know not the Truth either
>>98535386Who are you to rule over others when you lack the capacity? Did you not admit to having that stolen by your coven? Let this star-void valkyrie come to her own in time. >>98535872I... think you misunderstood something. The only theft that happened was a rare book of druidic lore and I'm currently trying to track down the thiefAnd I claim ruleship over nothing. His name was Rock. Well, his nickname was. Used to collect soil and minerals from other planets and even asteroids. Even dirt from Earth was like a treasure to him. Silly… right? After the boot camp and pilot training we only did two missions before he died. We just began bonding… and it still haunts me. Perhaps… we could have been friends.I want to kill them. The Nephandi. I want to tear them apart. I just can’t imagine whatever world I want to live in exist while they do. >>98536249Great question, friend! We could break it down as something simple, trauma from some childhood, life event, or birth defect. But whistling down people to pure fact is nothing! Ha ha ha! People are unreasonable and many people who have experienced trauma have grown to not be Nephandi! What I'm missing is what I have chosen to given up! My soul! That's boring though, the real question is why? Many Nephandi have many answers to that question as many as the countless thoughts and reasons of why we bend reality anyway!!! Ha! Ha! Ha!The reason why I have gave up my soul is easy! Because I wanted to! I suppose it would be easy to say I am missing common sense, but pure want is a reason in my opinion!I am not happier like this. In fact, I've never felt worse then ever! Yet, I am happier like this. In fact, I've never felt better then ever!

>>98537298Why would I tell you my "Tradition"? Even here you plant biases. One builds walls with words because words are the roots of ideas. Humanity has done studies on this. If an individual witnesses something like a car crash, if they are asked to describe what happened & the investigator uses charged language, the witness is compelled to reinforce that language. If the investigator asks "what speed was the car going when it slammed into the other?" The witness will give an answer that has a higher rate of speed, than if a witness was asked "what speed was the other car going?" The word "slammed" seeds their minds with thoughts of recklessness & high velocity. The more you know of me, the more the thought of who I am crystallizes in your mind. You didnt even consider I followed a Convention which also informs me of your own bias. There is even the threat that you might hurt me or my sister based on what conclusions you draw.I will tell you this impotent eunuch-thing. I am the Red King my beautiful sister is the White Queen. We were created in large part by the Professor, though our inception is older than the work he inherited. We were designed with the fundamental concepts of Alchemical Philosophy, but we are exploring past those constraints.
>>98537706One of the largest constraints we have identified is that of preconceived notions. Its nearly impossible to be rid of them. And I am not advocating for it either, we must function in society after all, but to at least be aware of them, is good enough right now. In example, just telling someone "Goodbye" reinforces the idea of a God since its etymological origins are in "God be with ye". Did you know that more & more people are eating spiders in their sleep ever since a mortal did a social experiment? Its all a bit of nonsense isnt it?This is why I have no respect for you. You cant even understand the implications of what you do. Youre a blind beast, gelded & without purpose & you are barreling down on our little space valkyrie with poison breath. >>98538592I dont know if I really want to spend all of my time here clearing up your constant problems with misunderstanding.First, I dont think women are lesser. My sister is the embodiment of femininity & she is my equal half. So im not sure how you drew this conclusion other than pure ignorance & hostility, or perhaps as further manipulation of the narrative you want to write. When I called you "Lesser" it is because you are less than you were. You again paint preconceived notions about how I think our space valkyrie will answer. I would never want to presume anything. Those questions were for you alone, to confront your arrogance. Dont bother replying unless you can speak to me with no assumptions in your head nor bile in your throat. I cannot say. With that said I do not necessarily align with those of the choir circles and the old lodges of the Ummah.
>>98539059>We all felt invincible in there, even when our hardsuits get banged up. Turns out we weren't.Our tech might make you feel like the ultimate badass but even it has a breaking point. Sometimes it's a really powerful deviant and sometimes it's mechanical failure. Remember the tale of Brice "Leather Nads" Hill
>>98539059That's good you were able to say goodbye. Me & my sister lost the Professor a few years back when we were just 14. We became orphans & had to navigate not having real identification, things like birth certificates, learning to take care of ourselves, hide from grown ups, and worse, High School. White Quee kept me going, she would make a game out of it, I was the husband she was the wife, playing house but it was real.Btw, question for the mages here...Anyone know anything about what is happening in the Upper Peninsula? A friend of mine went dark after looking into a problem there. He was a Hollow One/former Verbena sacrifice & took odd jobs hunting bygone bounties for the technocrats when he needed extra money

>>98543330Ha, don’t think that pointing out using gift from the land to achieve higher states of being is an effective insult. Besides, neither me nor my hollow ones friends use them when we commune with spirits As for the man, he’s the thief I’ve been chasing. The spirits helping us have mostly led us through the trail of chaos he left, mostly strange thefts >change from a hobo (who he poisoned with medical ethanol)>a femur from a crime scene of a recent murder>scissors from the local pd>a boatman’s cat>a man’s prized fishing rod This man is extremely weird, and the only motivation I can discern so far is that he has an strange fixation on druids. Besides the book, the magazine he bought with the stolen change had an article about a local scholar on folk beliefs around the world, with old celtic faiths being on the spotlight
>>98543549>spiritsAlright, you're being played by beings from other dimensions, got it. Do the whole world a favour and don't go opening holes in the gauntlet, ok? We really don't want to call the Mad Convention and have to put up with their demands. It sounds like a regular crazy person / deviant, I'm sure you can find him without invoking an alien invasion.
>>98543549Those sound like potential Fetters, if you know about wraiths in the Lower Umbra. Seeing as the hobo was poisoned, i'd hazard you got a necromancer on a recruiting drive.Any common ground between targets or perhaps certain special talents that the victims share?
About to enter the umbra on my own for the first time, wish me luck!
>>98544546>he can’t talk to spirits of nature for insights into interesting events in the areSkill issue>>98545499>any common ground or special talent between the targetsNo, which is one reason this situation has been such a mess. Nothing seems to properly tie together these crimes beyond a vague feeling that this mr. Hooligan is chasing after something >a necromancer on a recruiting driveI doubt, actually. The only casualty seems to be the hobo, all others were robbed through misdirection. >the cat was bagged while wandering around>he used the cat to distract the fisherman and steal the rod>he framed an old man for theft to distract the librarian and steal the bookAnd it seems like he has been disguising himself as a cop, which is how I presume he stole the scissors and the bone. Not to mention that his primary interest appears to be druidismWe did get something new, though. The boatman said he seemed particularly interested on an abandoned mansion just outside the town. Supposedly it’s cursed due to its original owner doing human sacrifices there or something along those lines
>>98545730Is this man in the Upper Peninsula? Might explain why my friend has been missing. Your thief could have done something to him>>98544546Would you be able to tell me if theres anything going on with my friend? I understand if youre under a confidentiality oath, but he was hired by your people to catch something.
>>98542640>>98542892Thanks for the advice. I will stay clear but outside of a source of quintessence. What are the other reasons a mage would keep a vampire around? Besides a mage having weird tastes in women. For the other nightfolk like the Garou despite their murder happiness or the Changeling and their weirdness can be allied with against a common foe like Technocrats, Infernalist, or Nephandi. A vampire or demon can't be any help despite the quintessence they might give.
>>98545926>but he was hired by your people to catch something.Man, the union spans far and wide, I'm afraid that's outside of my AO. You should ask the guys who hired him, they could tell you what he was going after. Maybe you could piece it together from that? You best hope that job was not off-the-books or they'll be the ones asking you questions.
>>98545926We’re very far from that area, but with how crazy this mystery has been I can’t fully discard his involvement there either>>98546015Meddling with other nightfolk for quintessence is dangerous. My mistress did with a garou once, but she was extremely careful about it, otherwise we stayed clear from them
>>98546027I do not know who hired him, other than it was your affiliates. I would suppose it was a shell corporation. I think he even put it on his taxes so it should be above board
>>98546470>I would suppose it was a shell corporation. I think he even put it on his taxes so it should be above boardI wouldn't say that makes it above board by union standards. Sure, the guy can pay his taxes but that's far as that company's goal goes. It might be gone by now, you'd be surprised how fast the magic men can do things. >>98546150>My mistress did with a garou onceI gotta ask or the guys will never let me hear the end of it, do mystics really fuck animals or alien origin?
>>98546015>What are the other reasons a mage would keep a vampire around? You fall into the sin of pride brother, it is not upon us to order and keep or dispense with our estranged fellows. Be they warriors of the world-will, or the children of Qabil Lilit and Habeel. But if I must offer insight of a pragmatic focus? I shall. One of my first teachers was a truly ancient being, a guardian of a monolith deep within a land I shan't name. Paid for in literal blood, they confirmed to me they were over 3000 years old and taught me much of ancient history, and things lost to we of our current era. Though this information was coloured splendidly by experience and bitterness, it remains invaluable to me. The resilience of the estranged in the face of the Commonality is also very potent. A certain place not far from me is guarded by faithful sons of Qabil within the mortal world, and shadows just beyond.I caution you though! Those who take this for granted are at grave risk! And those who presume themselves entitled will fail at best. At worst, they shall degrade the gift of the Most Merciful!
>>98547476>animalsWell, yes, but it’s nowhere near as common as the detractors say. Some verbenae use it as a focus for rituals (usually learning how to take their shape or draw upon a trait of theirs to enhance their bodies), but it has enough complications that only a few, usually the best adepts of the craft of Life, perform it. Mistress said that sex to empower magic is best done with your fellow human in most cases>spirits and other “reality deviants”Also yes, but that one is incredibly rare. Most spirits are very single minded and cannot even comprehend the concept of sex. The more powerful ones, who have more complex consciousnesses, might, but are extremely difficult to persuade. And most spirits who seek out sex are ones you do not want to approach (pray you never encounter a bane of lust). Either way, supposedly some can actually bear children and those born of such matings are extremely unique. Those are Middle Umbra spirits, of course. Wraiths, I’m much less familiar with, but Veil says that some necromancers do have sex with them. From what I understood she did it once to bring peace to the wraith of a young woman who killed herself (do not ask me how). Garou… they do not trust outsiders enough to let any of us partake in their spiritual might. From what I know, they mostly stick with their non-shapeshifter families, and among mages the ones who are most likely to be part of them are dreamspeakers, mostly native american ones. Still, on rare occasions some can be persuaded to ritual mating. My mistress brought a lovestruck young wolfborn to our now abandoned chantry. It was… fun (and why I had to take a female looking form, in fact)I don’t know enough about either vampires or the fae, and I don’t think I want to know about the former
>>98546015Are you saying that no individual vampire has common enemies with mages? Are they not free to choose their own path, cursed though they be?>>98547476Can confirm that Garou stick to their kin, both human and wolf. Though they do have legends of garou who mated with spirits, I personally haven't heard of any human managing to do so. >>98547800By wolfborn, do you mean Lupus formed? Do you happen to know their tribal affiliation? It's very possible that such a meeting could have led to trouble from the more orthodox members of their sept, and mayhaps caused your fellows disappearance.
>>98547955>>98547800My mistake, I mean OF alien origin not OR. Still, I may have learned a bit more than I had hoped for...deviants never fail to amaze in all the worst ways. >Still, on rare occasions some can be persuaded to ritual mating. My mistress brought a lovestruck young wolfborn to our now abandoned chantry. It's official, holy shit! And here I was, thinking the Progs were making stuff up to make you look even worse.
>>98547955Yes, I presume that’s the name they use. It has been months since that event, so the only things I recall the mistress said was it was an once in a lifetime opportunity because his tribe apparently is extremely hostile to humans, and she wanted, among other things, to make a good impression on him and hope to change that. I also vaguely recall about his tribe’s name having something with the color red>maybe they’re responsible for my circle’s disappearance Maybe? The young lupus seemed friendly and we were never harassed by them. Frankly only the mistress seemed to know they lived a short trip away from our chantry in the forest. And we had to leave it because after the ritual we attacked a cosmetics factory that was about to go operational and she wanted to lead the owners (her father among them, who’s a vile awakened likely on the path to become a nephandi) away from there. I got separated on the chaos when we tried to escape I don’t know if the garou would pursue her and the others for it, the young wolf seemed rather fond of her. But you seem to be more familiar with them than me>>98548028>progenitorsI’ll take their insults seriously when they stop stealing our herbal medicines and repackaging as their own sciency sounding invention
>>98548028>OF alien originSlutty aliens on Only Fans? They really are deviants then! I only jest.I will say the Verbena are seriously deranged in my opinion. From a more onological perspective they are hedonistic butchers & sexual predators even in the best of times. They kill humans, they have congress with animals & other debased creatures. The resident verbena here even corrupted himself, destroying his masculinity so he could pretend to be a woman & get rutted by a werewolf they've probably drugged & manipulated. Did the poor creature even consent to that sort of thing? Yet hes the first to speak ill of others moral principles like he isnt all but Nephandi himself.>>98547476Thank you for replying though. It seems I might need to travel there myself if I want answers.>>98547955My sister & I have had a few encounters with the bloodsuckers. A few good & a lot bad. A pack of their kind tried to feed on her a year or so ago, I was delayed getting to her at first but she is far from toothless, but strangely another vampire was there in opposition of the pack & killed some of them. Some civil issue between the bloodsuckers im sure. He said the ones we killed were on a list & it was his oath bound duty to kill them. He intimated killing the two of us as well to preserve their "traditions" but said he would "let us go" (not that we wouldnt have ashed him if he tried). One creature we do have positive relations with is an immortal woman that was our Professor's mistress, she was like a mother to us, she radiated with life & taught us much what we know, though she wasnt always around, she did a lot of archeological studies. Her & the Professor met in the Hollow Earth where they ended up working together. I have yet to meet a werewolf, so I only have what I've been told by her. They are powerful warriors ruled by rage but tempered with wisdom, they are nomads cursed to wander, & if I ever meet one i should show them respect but never weakness
>>98548315The Red Talons are usually hostile to humans, except in cases such as yours, where you have a common enemy. It's more likely that they have gone to ground to hide from the company. I'm sure the spirits will guide you back to your coven, when the time is right.>>98548690If your beliefs on the verbena are true, then the Red Talons may well have attacked them. your attitude towards Garou should serve you well in winning most of their respect, even if some ire comes with it.As for the vampires, I encountered one who claimed to be on the run as well, from his own progeny at that. whether he meant mortal or supernatural progeny I cannot say, as after assuaging my fears about them preying upon my community, I never saw them again. While I am intrigued by this supposedly immortal mage, what I need to know about is hollow earth. I don't want to riddle you with questions so I'll simply ask if it can be accessed via the umbra, and are there are any good tomes on the topic?
>>98548690Sigh… this again? Do you get off on misrepresenting my intentions or what? Yes, our methods are capable of being brutal or strange, but the world is also brutal and strange. Yet we all still love it, for it and all that dwell upon it are also capable of being loving and nurturing, and so are us descendants of the Wyck. Our aim is to heal the world and bring balance to life. Whatever issues with how we do magic are irrelevant, but don’t dare misconstrue our intentions as vileAs for the young garou, he was there on his own will, that much I can tell you. Mistress put great emphasis on consent when it comes to such acts and my transformation was to ease him into the flow of mating since it was a new experience for him. I remember him well enough to know he could have killed most of us and escaped if he so wished >>98548906I suppose so, but so far they do seem keen on me tracking down the book thief. We discovered he has been talking to the to a local scholar on folk religions. I’m hoping the professor can tell us what mr. Hoolingan knows and have some clues on what he intends. And regarding the Red Talons… I don’t think they attacked the others. We were determined to go as far away from the burning factory as we could. So unless they took our well intended ritual with the young lupus as a grave enough insult to pursue them, I find their attack upon the circle to be unlikely
>>98548906She wasnt a mage though she had power in ways similar to us. She also wasnt immortal the same way my sister & I are. She could die, but persist, able to reclaim herself over time, while we are simply immortal in every sense. Its one of the reasons the Professor asked her to be a part of his project with us, he wanted someone who could walk with us through life. She taught us about justice & history, etc. Not to breach good etiquette but she even instructed my sister & I in the ways of lovemaking. She was a wonderful woman & brought my sister & I closer than ever.
>>98549142Nephandi think they're doing the right thing too. Wyck'd is as wicked does.
>>98549211No they don’t. Who taught you that? What separates the nephandi from the rest of the awakened is that they renounce all virtue and good intentions and pledge themselves to plunge the world into darkness as their “ascension”. It’s why you should not approach them for anything other than permanently removing them from this world (and the rest of reality, if possible)
>>98549272No! Cries the hypocrite, when I kill people I am doing it for the right reasons! Please follow me to the forest cave & rut like beasts covered in shit, blood, & filth! This is nothing like those evil werewolves that kill & have orgies in their underground caves! Those are of the "Wyrm"We slaughter people humanely to reach ascension he says rationally, not like those evil inverted Mages who slaughter people inhumanely for ascension! We perform dark rites in the moonlight to appease the spirits, those evil infernalists do dark rites in the moonlight to appease the evil demon spirits!
>>98548906>what I need to know about is hollow earthMy apologies I forgot your inquiry. I dont know where the entrances are, but the Hollow Earth can be accessed through holes in the ground. My sister & I spent our childhood in the Hollow, & only came to the surface when we were 12. I dont remember much about the ride. Though by Professor did have a theory that it wasn't truly a Hollow Earth as much as a sort of "double sided jacket" of Earth where its infinitely large & has its own "space" there much like how Earth-side is infinitely large & has its own "space"
>>98548315>stealing our herbal medicines and repackaging as their own sciency sounding inventionI'm afraid I'll have to side with the good doctors this one, knotty boy. >And we had to leave it because after the ritual we attacked a cosmetics factoryHang on a minute, this can't be a coincidence...>>98548690>I have yet to meet a werewolfDon't forget your silver, it'll come in handy, trust me. Some of your friends might also be useful, even if they suck at fighting, cannon fodder has it's uses.
>>98549333I see, you do not understand the effects of intent upon acts and their effects. >>98549142If the red king's assertions are wrong, you and your coven are probably fine, but I know little of the verbena.>>98549272I disagree, even Nephandi believe they are doing the right thing by hastening the apocalypse.>>98549191>>98549415I've met petty sorcerers but an immortal who recovers after death? Hollow earth? You must be pulling my leg, friend.
>>98550487Ha, I’m surprised you weren’t aware sooner given the man behind the factory is one of the Syndicate’s “enlightened businessman”. Granted, given the amount of banes and formori we faced there, I presume his true loyalties has shifted elsewhere Also, I asked because you seemed to know some extra details about it. Or was it just my imagination?>>98550971It’s not worth arguing over it, frustrating as it is. I at least hope he’s merely misguided in his judgement of our tradition >nephandi believe they are doing the right thing To keep it short, they’re outliers in that regard. The corruption that sets them apart from other awakened requires them to fully embrace wickedness and/or nihilism (both of which have multiple forms they can choose from) to fully take hold. The most charitable interpretation of their intentions is that they see the world is irreparably broken and must be annihilated, regardless of if life could be allowed to flourish again. It’s not like other extremists who think their actions will lead to paradise (on this world or after). Or “regular” wicked mages who pursue power at the expense of others but do not desire destruction of everything
>>98549815Intent? You think the victim of a drunk driver forgives the actions of the inebriated fool who just "intended" to go home? Please find better arguments to defend with, I am open to debate merits but you seem to have none. You are pathetic to keep arguing this instead of just dropping it.And im no stranger to combat. The Professor saw to it i learn some martial arts from some silent monks in the Hollow. I only know the fundamentals, but with my magic ive killed vampires & humans, & many of the monsters in the Hollow, when will you stop presuming?>>98549455Ill keep it in mind but would rather any werewolf meeting be friendly
>>98550971The Verbena hold child sacrifices & other human sacrifices. They mate with monsters, demons & animals. They perform all manner of perversions, & they act like these practices makes them more in tune with nature. Nature might be red in tooth & claw but its not natural to magically rip your dick off & let a wolf shaped werewolf fuck you. Verbena are basically non-insane Nephandi.Hollow Earth is real you can even ask our resident Conventionalist, they got into a war with my Professor's people over it. As for the immortal, she was ultimately aegyptian she called her people the Amenti & she followed a warlord named Horus who opposed the bloodsuckers. They apparently were created with our True Magick long ago.>>98551263Forgot my name
>>98551116>Also, I asked because you seemed to know some extra details about it. Or was it just my imagination?Oh, you know, we'd like to find the ones responsible and ask them some questions, standard procedure. We usually have a room with no windows and primium-lined walls for our esteemed guests.>Ill keep it in mind but would rather any werewolf meeting be friendlyAnd I'd love for Fido and friends to just roll over and go extinct already. You can hope it'll be friendly but I'm afraid that it's up to them to decide how the meeting goes.
>>98551300>They apparently were created with our True Magick long ago.Again with the folly! You've the same conceit as a Victorian scholar armed with dynamite and inferiority a century prior! It was by the Root that the Understanding of that Root from which the Sacred Scrolls were made. To presume all is of the Art is to retroactively suppose importance of ourselves. Those ancient lands whence men of Bronze and Stone mingled freely with man-eating and moon-keeping things, when the Sons of Qabil and the Sons of Ibrahim freely mingled. Those were the days when the sleep was thinnest, and had men been wiser, or else, the Shaitan more foolish, we might live now in a kinder world. Alas. Alas.
>>98552533All my information comes thirdhand from her & the Professor, I cannot verify any of their claims on the matter of Amenti.
>>98552602The nature of the Knotting that binds the Souls-Five-Fold within the Living and Unliving Flesh creates a situation where trust cannot be completely given. Beyond what is seen in the shared present. Which is... Frustrating. And I will admit I cannot share much of what I know. The struggles of Ma'at and the black Serpent, and related intrigues last into the present uninterrupted. And some here would happily betray ancient oaths for their own empowerment, or worse. I do wish I could do proper research on the subject.
>>98551116>>98552533It is quite possible that what I assumed was Nephandi was simply an independent with a dark philosophy, though their corruption was palpable. So does anyone know any rotes to discern a follower of a left-handed path from a true Nephandi?
>>98552764>It is quite possible that what I assumed was Nephandi was simply an independent with a dark philosophyMost likely I fear. It is an important distinction to make in such matters we differentiate those who dwell overlong in unwelcome places, those who fall under the shadow of the great evils, and those who have annihilated their own guardian Tawûsî and the path of the great cycle, giving their souls to the annihilation of this current Reality? The Ahl-i-Najasa, the Wretched Ones, they are of a fundamentally different mind to us. Fundamentally Qlippothiqiue. Dwarfing any petty devil worshiping, blood drinking, or other sordid acts. One of my old masters among the Taftâni once lost half his body fighting a single one of these ilk, and only by tricking the Evil-Man into thinking he was about to annihilate a school bus full of children did he slay the abomination. It is also important to note a terrible evil has been painted upon the darkness between the starlight, in ancient places from long before us. Malice, Apathy, Cruelty, and Selfish Annihilation were painted there by things not of Man or the Most Merciful. This evil beckons in places where Entropy grows strong, and the secret masters of the Najasa await their ultimate destruction. How tragic it will be when the First and Last simply begins anew creation if they win. Alas. They are very stupid things.
Are we seriously pondering over a Nephandis mindset? Theres no way you can destroy the entire world and asy its for the greater good.
>>98554777Its a measure of perspective. The Nephandi are anathema to all life but they think they are doing the right thing, the Conventions kill dragons & unicorns & enslave the masses to realize their dream of a grey world of unitariany equity instead of dynamic merit & the inherent inequality that means, & so to does all Traditions think themselves the one true shadow on the wall of the cave. When holding to your convictions you must ask yourself if you are not the villain in someone else's story, & how that might effect your personal internal calculus of justice & morality. Take for instance a Verbena deciding if its okay rip the heart out of a child so that they can delay their aging. The Verbena will defend this practice of preying on children to say that the old wizened man & his knowledge is more important than the poor innocent child they want to kill.
>>98551300On the topic of Horus, I have confirmed his existence which adds credence to some of your other claims. I will, however, be checking out a local Verbena coven on other business soon, and will see if your claims about them are true as well.

>>98555034I have to ask, what tradition or group are you a part of? I can't think of any mage who hates the verbena as much.
>>98561765Ive already answered, I was originally tutored in an Etherite/Alchemical Philosophy paradigm but recently im trying to overcome all preconceptions I can. I am trying, little by little, to remove the ingrained responses & thoughts to how magic works, to work my will alone. It is slow progress & doesnt work most of the time, but there are sometimes i can glimpse something. And the Verbena deserve the hate. Same with some of the other Traditions & Conventions. We just don't have any of the other pretending theyre morally superior.>>98555508Wonderful
>>98562237>We just don't have any of the other pretending theyre morally superior.Pride may manifest in vanity, unhealthy view of the self. But it may also manifest in contempt for the positions in others, elevating one's position and cliques over all other via subtraction.
The other apprentice is a fucking retard and keeps fucking up. He's been studying under our Master for 6 years longer than I and he still cannot tell you any of the next planetary alignements, he has never learned a single word of Greek or Latin. Last week he used Google translate for an evocation ritual and almost killed himself via self-immolation, fucker doesn't even know basic alchemy. He spends all his time on his PC playing MMOs with his Virtual Adept jerk off buddy and smoking whatever he can get off the Verbena agent that visits once a month. I spoke to the local Verbena coven yesterday, and while I don't wish to discuss the events in detail in the presence of any resident technocrats, they seemed to have quite the difference in opinions. They were a trio of women, A grandmother, a mother, and a daughter. The Grandmother seemed to be the voice of moderation between the mother and daughter, whom were at odds over whether violence was the correct course of action in regards to some local development. Ultimately we agreed that it is a problem that cannot be dealt with by strength of arms, though I worry that hotheaded girl will do something we will all regret.
>>98566684Don't worry, even without the details we can conclude that they're crazy. The only thing that we can debate on is their threat level.
>>98564774My Mentor found me a few days after my Awakening, I was already decent at math and studying for engineering. This motherfucker tells me that anything is possible, goes on this long tirade about the modern world and technology.>Anyrhing is possible through math>Science is not the only way to alter realityHe smelled like stale bread and acted like a crackhead but I was in shock enough to believe him. A few years later it seems I am the only one actually trying to achieve anything at the Chantry; Alestrius seems to gather random apprentices whom he teaches nothing past the riddles that mean nothing, half of these people are addicted to some sort of drug and have no drive. Zero. Nothing. No motivation at all, none of them care about Ascension.I'm pretty much funding these bastards, why does a Civil Engineers pay have to support people who can supposedly turn lead to gold? Great question, I wish I knew. The meetings we have are about nothing, just personal happenings, Alestrius has found a new "piece of ancient lore" to obsess over and goes to Greece or some other island to be Epstein 2 probably. I am strongly considering leaving these people to their doom and detecting to some other tradition, or just going out solo. These people have taught me fuck all
>>98567589Are you a Hermetic or Ecstatic. Thought you were the former with greek, latin, and probable teaching of sorcery but the drugs addiction part makes me want to double check if you might be tied down with a Ecstatic chantry..
>>98567716It is a Hermetic chantry alright, at least on the surface. Everything is old and the damned snake logo is everywhere, place is practically made out of them. Genuinely wondering if I got scammed, visited a Verbena location not so long ago and they had a lot of nice shit. One mentor per student and they'd spend a few hours every day going over things
>>98567589You're a civil engineer? And you still picked these loons? That's what we call wasted potential. If you ever decided to leave the Harry Potter crew and join the adults in the real world, come to us and we'll see what you're made of.
>>98567769As a Hermetic myself that has left the Mi’as of the wider order. It is best to leave but I advise that you should go find another Hermetic chantry if you are so interested in Ascension. The Order of Hermes has much text about Ascension and the nature of Ars. Also, if you find another chantry of another house you can get payback by getting the other chantry and perhaps the wider order to tear into such a lazy mentor failing to uphold the sixth tenet of the Code of Hermes. If you are not interested in Mi’as then it is just best to appear still be apart of the order but you go freely engaging in other traditions or go alone if your mentor is this bad.
>>98567963Funnily enough I have been experimenting with adding certain geometric patterns in bridges that allows them to bear any load. Most sleepers expect the bridge to hold up anyway, still haven't tested it properly. I've only heard of you guys in passing, mostly how authoritarian you are, never been told more just that you want magick your way or not at all>>98568030I have been trying to find other chantries but they seem more secretive that the one I am currently in. There was one near Frankfurt that was a couple hours drive, lovely people but they were in the process of moving and when inquired told me they "had their hands full but to keep in touch". Currently in the process of packing up, most likely will dissappear by the end of the week and go back to my parents, will continue my search afterwards. If you have ny good referrals in Europe I'd love to have them
>>98569095>Funnily enough I have been experimenting with adding certain geometric patterns in bridgesDon't do it. It always seems like a good idea untill it isn't. If it backfires we're looking at potential civilian casualties on top of financial losses. A normal bridge will do just fine. I've only heard of you guys in passing, mostly how authoritarian you are, never been told more just that you want magick your way or not at allAnd you heard that from other superstitionists, right? Most criminals don't hold the police in high regard. Spoiler, we're the cops in this scenario, doing our best to keep the peace and maintain order. Also, we do science, "magick" is something only a superstitionist will claim to be real.
>>98570156>BridgeJust hypothetically for now, I have a few blueprints and I am trying to figure out how best to implement it. Of course I would have to test it out and check out the materials needed. You think the aqueduct were built without at least one collapsing?>PoliceI mean sure, the criminals dont talk kindly of the police but also the other way around. What's your internship look like, I'm at least curious to how you people operate
>>98570863>You think the aqueduct were built without at least one collapsing?Of course not, it's always trial and error. It's best when the error part occurs in a controled way. Everything needs to be tested before it can be safely introduced to the masses.>What's your internship look like, I'm at least curious to how you people operateThat's the tricky part, it all depends on the Convention and methodology. If you're into engineering I'd be looking at Iteration X. They're big on everything technical and hard science-y.
>>98569095Now this is fascinating. I wonder just how unbridgelike you could design a bridge, yet keep the belief of the people invested into it to make it a bridge. When does the bridge become not a bridge?>>98570156You take umbridge at his unbridge? I wonder what the backlash would manifest as? Maybe a tollbooth manifests & the tolls serve as a payment like tribute to keep the bridge from falling?
>>98572967>You take umbridge at his unbridge? I wonder what the backlash would manifest as?I'm going to ignore all the usual superstitionist babble and get straight to the point. I can guarantee you, any proper inspection of that bridge will reveal catastrophic design flaws. Soon, that bridget will colapse because someone decided not to follow actual scientific principles.
>>98573257If the old masters ruled then scientific principles would be gibberish. Only by setting your will against them does your Science reign. Like a ponderous & ramshackle tower held in counterbalance by a single weight this bridge may hold in spite of inspection, much how light is presumed to behave differently when observed. But what great cost could inspection entails? Will your weighty Science erode the bridge or will his Geometric shapes distribute your glowering gaze? What will be paid to assuage the force of the sleepers' knowing?

>>98572967I will be frank with you, I believe that most of the buildings in the UAE and surrounding are are heavily affected by some sort of Magick or scientific meddling. I assume whatever is going on in America is just as bad.>>98577566I've interacted sparingly with other members of the order and some seem well adjusted. There's only a handful for each tradition/practice but most of them seem very psychologically damaged in some way. Eccentricity or addiction are rampant and most young mages dont care about ascension at all.>>98577884Allah bless you brother, thank you for the offer. May greed and strife leave your land soon. There is something happening between the Kosovo-Serbia border but no one seems to know what exactly. If fate brings you there then I would love to share tea and knowledge with you, you seem better adjusted than most
[spoilers] its starting to really feel like an echo chamber in here, unless anyone has any kind of actual interactions they'd like to push here does anyone care if this thread dies? I'm tired of checking it just to see maybe two replies a day. plus im pretty sure there's at least one guy double dipping and he for sure switched characters completely at least once. why doesnt anyone try to actually develop anything in these threads? we used to have entire plots and stories in these things. it was fun improv. the sort of "yes and" type thing where we would softball some actual storylines. now its just sad. especially when the most prolific poster in each of these threads is a secual deviant or tranny or something trying to subtly roleplay his fetish [/spoilers]

While I cannot stake any veracity to this theory it is theoretically possible. I've never had anything hone in on me like that beyond my own Self-Outside-Myself.>2This thing was one of us once. But was fundamentally altered by the environments of far realms. Either personally in order to survive or by forces already there. You know spirits? Imagine someone squishing you into a ghost shaped and ghost-functioning thing. Me no like this particular theory bit it is the one I'm personally in favour of, as I've read a bit about some of the things very early explorers of the beyond did to themselves.>3It is something alien to us but was in contact or heavily influenced by either of of us or an Avatar/Pretentious-Me-Ego. Things from way outside our ken are weird brother, and when SOME JACK ASS leaves the door open, those things get in.As for what I was talking about, it references (1) A very brief period of time for the Technerds where they were in bed with the British Empire and really started circle jerking about how smart and objective they were, and how they could control the entire world economy and make it do what they want. Which went really great in 1929. The terminology represents a brief organization of this in the 1800s before the modern structure of this organization took hold.It also mentions (2) another organization that forces my hand to offer the dogs in my neighbourhood white phosphorus. I wish that was just an absurd joke but it is not. Also you might need to decompile the text. Its what I did.
Also there is a mummified corpse on my door I gotta get the fuck outta here.
>>98592642Well im not tech-savvy so that makes sense. I guess i wont worry about the fiend unless he has something to do with my friend. He seems more interested in you if hes mailing mummies to your door.Ill take a moment to say, I dont believe in Avatars though. I think thats just symptomatic of internal dissonance with preconceptions. Those who cant understand things/themselves create a shade on which to project. Of course this may be its own preconception, but compare to the mages of old who either did not have Avatars, or were unaware of them. From what ive gathered from the Technocratsive talked to they dont have avatars in the same sense as the traditions even though they call them different terms when they are somewhat aware of them.
