>Dungeon+???
Time to figure out what the next big crossover concept will be for RPGs.

>Dungeon+Driving
Could work. Massive underground racetracks, spells as power boosts, monsters as obstacles, kart-style combat. Get some Redline inspiration and styling, and it's golden.

>Dungeon+Cooking
Been done.

>Dungeon+Dining
Running a restaurant in a dungeon, feeding adventurers and wandering monsters alike, there's some potential there if it's not taken too seriously.

>Dungeon+Politics
Fuck off.

>Duneon+Fantasy Politics
Campaigning in a Megadungeon with several different tribes of monsters, collecting votes and making backroom deals, all to secure your position as an elected official... I'm warming up to the idea.

>Dungeon+Boomer Shooter
We've already seen lots of dungeon elements making their way into FPS's, might be cool to bring more FPS elements into TTRPGs.
>>
Boomer FPS themed RPG is a sufficiently playable concept it probably already exists.

>Dungeons & Dragoons
A GATE-style instance of a real-world army invading a fantasy land but Napoleonic-era army instead of a modern one would be probably a ton of fun and way less "Killing dragons with one shot from an MPAD rocket".

There's GUTGUN, the literal Boomer Shooter TTRPG were you shoot people with your gut gun, a gun that is your guts.

Alright...take Dungeon+Driving, but further combine it with Dungeon+Drinking..
>>
>>98533722
You're going too fast. I think Dungeon+Drinking games might actually be much more popular than people would expect.
>>
>>98533546
There's probably a dozen RPGs of every conceivable type; most are just not any good or failed to find their audience. Every day on kickstarter there's five new RPGs that a thousand people will back, and they'll receive the game six months later only to put it on a shelf and forget about it until it's time to move and they have to debate whether its really worth the space it would take up.

Farming for gaming ideas are we?

Dungeons and Dukes

You are your party are deep red state caricatures that are being harassed by gnomohomo fae folk that have started popping up in the forests and wallmart parking lot. You have classes like Farmer, Hillbilly Patriot, White supremacist, and Bunker Schizo, Megachurch Acolyte, (hispanic) Border Patrol Agent. Scenarios include figuring out why the river is turning people gay. Finding the lost welfare checks. Killing liberal hippy forest wizards. Returning the stolen Dodge Charger. Destroying mind controlling 5g towers. Figuring out who Luan's baby daddy is. Face the Nigga' Walker. Along the way you'll meet heroes such as Alexander Joans. Use skills such as "muh rights" to get out of sticky situations using your knowledge, or "credit score" to purchase more powerful weapons from the pawn shop while balancing debt.

>dungeon+detention

Grade-school adventurers get thrown into a labyrinth as punishment after school and have to quest their way out.

Challenges include 6th grade math problems, delivering a book report about a book you didn't read to the Ink-sphinx, and dodgeball against teenage ogres.

You roll your grades as your stats, pick your generic fantasy class as your aspirational profession (along with one fall back option in case the first one doesn't work out) to select abilities, and finish off your delinquent by figuring out what rule they broke to land them in detention in the first place.

That was a surprisingly depressing manga.

Combining dungeons with the soul-crushing nature of watching a small business decline from poor financial planning and oversight feels like the death of fantasy.

Most get rich quick and easy schemes come with some sort of catch.
The artist has quite a breadth, done some lighter stories, done much darker stuff too.

Instead of the protagonist ever actively trying to pick up girls in a dungeon, it's just yet another dickless nice guy dweeb who somehow manages to accidentally find himself surrounded by girls that want to jump him but he seems to consciously live by the mandate that the series must remain TV-14, under the guise that he's asexually pining for one girl.

A much more accurate title for the series would have been "Is it wrong to give the most milquetoast character ever a cheat power that increases his XP rate so that he can have at least one noticeable quality?"

The girls are cute though.
>>
>>98536613
I struggle to think of a harem anime where the protagonist actively builds up his harem instead of just lucking into it.
maybe Highschool of the Dead?
>>
>>98536627
The World only God Knows rides the line, because he is actively trying to get the girls to fall in love with him, but only because of the most convoluted setup imaginable.

Golden Boy has him trying to get a girl in each episode, and the final one shows that half of them are still chasing after him.

But yeah, it's incredibly rare for a harem protagonist to actually do something like deliberately try to pick up girls, in a dungeon or otherwise. So, if you title your series in a way that suggests that we might see a protagonist outside of a Hentai do something other than be completely terrified of women or be immediately devoted to one girl, it suggests something new and exciting and possibly might lead to unprecedented stories.

IiWtTtPUGiaD is like someone selling you a time machine and only after you buy it do you discover it only lets you travel forward in time and only at a rate of 1 second per second. Sure, it's not an uncomfortable or inconvenient way to travel through time and is in fact incredibly familiar, but everyone's already done it and when you imagine the possibilities of what the name suggested, it's a complete letdown.

Clean frequently? That's what the dungeon clean-up crew is for (green slime, black pudding, ochre jelly, yellow mold, gelatinous cube).

If I m not mistaken in the 80s there were picture books that were literally "manual computer games" were you would turn the pages on a script to move around with "your character" the objective of the solo book was to escape a maze but there were rules for multiplayer fight where you would fight other "book characters".

Found it

>So it evolved into Queen's Blade?
Probably but it also had "dungeon exploration" because you walk around the dungeon looking for the other character and you can hide or run from the opponent.
(honestly the Idea is neat)(but the "dungeon" is composed of just 14 possible spaces I think)

Dwarven Mine Cart racing is a fantastic idea for a minigame in an adventure, where racers can focus on making big decisions (which route to take) instead of the more granular aspects of most forms of racing.

It could also be done in reverse, with the way down being a speed competition, while the way up is the dwarves having to push the full load back up, with the goal being not so much a matter of time but how many tons of ore a team can haul back in a day.

And, the best part is, they're not just racing, they're actually being productive.
>>
>>98537042
This is pretty cool. I understand why the world isn't filled with these books, especially now in the age of being able to just play fortnite on your phone, but there's a whole ton of clever design in it.
