should endurance be a separate stat from STR DEX and CON
>>98536711No. Also stop playing 5e
>>98536711Please play another game. Just give it a try, any game at this point.
>>98536711There should be sources of HP/Defence/whatever which aren’t tied to long-distance running. I have a strong resistance to pain and physical damage and also handle hot weather very well (110+F heatwaves) but I am a very bad long distance runner, so I’m not aware of any game systems which would represent my physical talents very well.
>>98536711Yeah obviously. Stop playing 5e
>98536887>98536731These exact same stats exist in every single edition of D&D as well as Pathfinder and most OSR games. In many games there is a stat which is 90% similar to CON, being the primary stat influencing HP and affecting poison resistance and stamina as well.
>>98536711
>>98536711Play AD&D 2e using the Skills and Powers book, it breaks up your stats so you can move points between substats so long as you keep the same average. Con becomes Health (system shock and save bonus) and Fitness (hp and resurrection chance). Meanwhile your Str is between Stamina (lift/carry and long term exertion) and Muscle (hit hard).
>>98536711You should make your games how you want to play them.
>>98537093Traveler, nice.
>>98537093>unimpressive strength>poor coordination>bad stamina>possibly ok IQ>poor education>poor social standingWow, I’d be a terrible Traveler character.>>98537184So with that AD&D supplement I’d have great Constitution (both Health and Fitness) but my Strength would be much worse, with bad Stamina and middling Muscle. I think I like the idea of this nuanced system.
>>98536711Have you tried playing something that isn't D&D?
>>98536711what game?
>>98536844prowlers and paragons.
>>98538261>Wow, I’d be a terrible Traveler character.Maybe you'd die in chargen.
>>98536844Is your bad experience with long distance running a fault of technique, like you just suck at running, or is it a stamina thing?
>>98543871I get winded easily and also get bad side-stitches. Strangely I can skip longer than I can run, so technique might be part of it.
>>98536844when i was on the swim team in high school I was a top 5 long distance swimmer on the team but bottom 2 runner
>>98543906Side stitches can be caused by poor posture and shallow breathing. Next time try running with your back straight and take in deep breaths.
>>98536762Don't let the Dicks & Dildos tards out of containment. Stop. Fucking stop it. Leave them in there. They deserve it and none of us deserve to have them contaminate our hobby.
>>98536844> I have a strong resistance to pain and physical damage and also handle hot weather very well (110+F heatwaves) but I am a very bad long distance runnerSame thing, the latter is just verifiable and shows your true stat
>>98536711Endurance should be CON. Hit Points should be STR. Anything else is retarded.
