Romance is not meant to be in TTRPGs. It makes everyone at the table uncomfortable.
>>98547977Sorry bros, you'll just have to grin and bear me frolicking around a meadow with the local lady.
>>98547977aww does wittle baby need his safe spacemaybe you can play the x-card if it gets too bad for you ;^]

>>98547977I liked Barnes and Elias' romance.
>>98547977Oh look, another faggot trying to dictate how others play instead of playing how he wants. And I say this as someone who hates romance into all media, especially when it's shoehorned in.
>>98547977Because romance is THE ttrpg, my dear anon.
>>98547977Depends on the game.
>>98547977Sandy Petersen agrees with you.
>>98547977>WrongRomance is a tool to punish your players like any other.
>>98548121The gif that saved /tg/
>>98547977>t. solipsistDon't do romance at your solo table then and you might feel better (you won't).
>"How dare you NOT enter my magical realm?!"
>>98547977You're not meant to be in TTRPGs. You make everyone at the table uncomfortable.
>>98551601You're a fucking weirdo
>>98547977Wrong.Romance is the first instigator of any kind of plot development, background change, motivation, cause to arms or anything else.>Thing Z happens because Y happened.>Thing Y happened because thing X happened.>Once you run out of precipitating causes, your final event happened because one person fell in love with another.
>>98555718Explain how in Platoon (The movie in OP) romance is the plot development.
>>98547977It's boring, yeah.
>>98547977But you are OP.Your homosexuality IS the romance.
>>98550349ThisMade a grown woman cry at the table because of her own choices. I like the power
>>98555726NTA>I think now, looking back, we did not fight the enemy; we fought ourselves. And the enemy was in us. The war is over for me now, but it will always be there, the rest of my days as I'm sure Elias will be, fighting with Barnes for what Rhah called possession of my soul. >There are times since, I've felt like the child born of those two fathers. But, be that as it may, those of us who did make it have an obligation to build again, to teach to others what we know, and to try with what's left of our lives to find a goodness and a meaning to this life.
>>98547977I love that opinion bro, you make a great point, please kiss me while I hold you close
>>98547977Wrong. You're just a permavirgin closet homo.
>>98561325You sound lame af. I feel sorry for anyone who plays games with you.
>>98547977if that were true, nobody would ever try putting it into ttrpgs, and you wouldn't be making these threads
>>98561357Any group that includes it is cringe and undesirable.
>>98561325The closet homo isn't the person rping falling in love with his neckbeard friends pretending to be a female elf?
>>98561409i'm sure they'll be devastated you don't like them
>>98561490Fucking hobby tourist...
It's amazing how many threads on this site are just copied and pasted to multiple boards.
>>98547977Because how dare people roleplay in a roleplaying game, roleplaying games are for calls to adventure and fighting BBEGs nothing else. It sounds so boring. I had roleplay campaigns where the focus was on romance. the key here is if your players are ok with it and want that kind of campaign. It shouldn't be someone forcing what they think a TTRPG should be or how they think it should be played on everyone else.
>>98547977i don't get why you're at a gaming table let alone GMing if you don't want players to do things in-game like pursue romantic relationships with a NPC just go write a novel or touch grass instead of telling others how to play a TTRPG
>>98547977That's why I keep my romantic inclinations online. I have an active presence on Discord where I play erotic roleplaying games with other like-minded perverts. I've done it all. I've fucked Twi'lek Jedi with breasts the size of watermelons. I've fucked Stygian sorceresses on the top of a ziggurat in the middle of a siege. I've fucked blind Utaku battle maidens, and I've belly-bulged busty teenage witches in the middle of the Stolen Lands. I've done it all.
>>98561409I am brave enough to EMBRACE the cringe. Or at least some types of cringe. And I am doubtful that anyone can REALLY enjoy anything without at least SOME cringe.
>>98570498cringe is relative, if you count cringe as something anyone that anyone anywhere would cringe at then absolutely everything is cringe
>>98547977This, unless everyone sat down and agreed that they're there to play a romance RP (protip: find a better group immediately if this happens, shit is going to get weird) it doesn't belong on the tabletop. The GM's barely disguised fetishes, on the other hand, are an old tradition at every game table I've ever played at.
>>98547977I need to continue my bloodline to continue the campaign
>>98564632King
wow people get really mad when you dont like romance in games, huh?
>>98572436Its retarded to restrict such a basic aspect of human life. Its like saying violence doesn't belong in games.
Its fucking lame dude. You are in a magical realm, where you can influence geopolitics, start a race war, be the bad guy, try to kill gods and instead you... flirt. Not even gonna mention the fat neckbeard rping it. Its a tumblrfags idea of interesting. I guess exception is if its the point of the campaign, like a soap opera where everyone is fucking everyone else and your goal is to top everyone else.
>>98572460>Its retarded to restrict such a basic aspect of human life. It's not retarded to not want some ugly guy you barely know awkwardly fumble into kissing an NPC. Romance and ERP are only tolerable when you're doing text-based roleplay and have grown comfortable enough with an online group that you're willing to get freaky.
>>98547977Incorrect, normal well adjusted people do not mind. It makes you uncomfortable because you are an incel, or an incel in a dress, or fat. You make everyone at the table uncomfortable and we look forward to your suicide.
>>98572460>a basic aspect of human lifeSo is shitting retard, do I have to roll to see if the toilet paper comes out clean? Here are two questions for you, how many times have you fought to the death using magical powers / weapons and how many times have you romanced / fucked a girl?
>>98572502normal well adjusted do not ERP in tabletop games you disgusting lunatic
>>98572512It's a basic aspect of stories. Not all stories feature romance, but it would be pretty retarded to have war RPGs, spy RPGs, scifi, fantasy, horror, magic, tragedy, comedy, whatever, and no romance.
>>98573122Not in a ttrpg setting. it's unnatural and weird.
>>98573179Says who?
>>98573191Sandy Petersen
>>98572502Normal well adjusted people do not mind depraved ERP sessions in their fucking elf games?
>>98573210That's like the best argument for romance in RPGs you could make

This is an interesting take and I see why you'd feel that way. However, if you have girls at your table and they like you, there gunna push for romance it's alot of fun if the chemistry is there. As an ST fot VTM most of my time is spent giving girls a vampire BF experience
>>985725120 for both, your point?
>>98581237NTA. Romance is gay to put in a TTRPG
>>98547977depends, if vague like in Pendragon, is okon the other way sexscene with two necbeards is yuck
>>98547977You're probably right, but I like it as a motivator. What your players are looking for is an excuse to be engaged in your story. Gold and XP are somewhat peripheral. If you want them to really feel something, you need to wave a prize that they genuinely link their self-worth too. It's great at a motivation. Your average player reverts back to his high-school mentality when that happens, they actually end up role-playing their character.I'm not saying "Cuck your players", that's cruel and pointless. I'm saying "Make your players aware of sexual politics."Here let me give you an example. When the PCs are clearing out a goblin cavern, the fighter from the other party says "Let's have a little competition, the one who kills the most of them gets to have a date with the hot Goth sorceress."The hot Goth sorceress rolls her eyes because she thinks the competition is stupid, but goes "Ugh, fine, I'll agree."So when your party's Fighter or Rogue or whatever starts killing goblins, now he's trying to keep pace with the other dude. The girl gets more and more excited as she sees them mow down the little bastards, and she'll playfully grab the arm of the winner and ask him to treat her well. This will literally be the most memorable part of the session for your players, win or lose.I can't stress how you must be perfectly fair, let the dice fall where they may.
>>98590933You know you had most players at "kill goblins", right?
