My players pissed off a witch hunter and are now on trial. Any suggestions for bullshit to pull on them and ways they could talk their way out of it?

Or you could think of if you weren't dead set on being as publicly useless as possible.

>>98566640>>98567089>false testimonyThis is the biggest tool in your kit. Make them prove the witnesses are lying or get their own witnesses to give counter testimony. They'll have to deal with the inquisitor, any henchmen, or even just zealous or fearful townsfolk acting against them and their potential witnesses. Any violence, even justified in defense, is more likely to work against them at trial and in public opinion.
