The party Rogue or Wizard are more likely to be psychos.But to answer your question barbarians both in fantasy and historically typically come from a hard sometimes nomadic background where a might makes right attitude is necessary for success or survival. They are explosively violent because that is the norm, and to do otherwise is a sign of weakness they could have negative consequences for them. As such your typical barbarian is incredibly strong, hardy, and good at keeping himself alive but will lack the martial talents of more professional martials like fighters paladins and rangers who would have training and experience from being in militaries, arenas, knight orders or just plain schools.

It's just not possible. Xenophon's ten thousand , Genghis Khan's hordes, The redcoats in the 19th century, etc, despite all taking their part in plenty of murdering, raping and pillaging, were likely mostly comprised of normal, stable, mentally healthy people. The fact that someone today would have to be an abnormal, unstable, fucked up motherfucker to actually act like they did is not proof that they were psychopaths, it's just proof that our cultural and social conditioning is extremely effective.
